FACTIONS AND GANGS
together we are stronger Is this required of my characters?
No. To have a character be a member of a faction or gang is optional. We only chose to incorporate this list to assist in plotting purposes.
What is a Faction?
A Faction is a very organized and large group. There is a pyramid of power where the leader(s) is/are at the top and their members trickle down in their ability to give orders. In order to inquire of a leadership position a character must at least be thirty years old to keep to a sense of realism.
What is a Gang?
A Gang is a more casual and smaller group. The leader qualifications are much more lax due to the informality of the group's structure. There is no age requirement for a Gang leader however there is a member count requirement to be added to the official list of groups on the site. A Gang must have at least five character members to be added officially.
Can a character be a member of more than one group?
Yes. Your character may be a double agent or simply share memberships with multiple groups. Your loyalty will be expressed next to your character's name. Just a reminder to members to keep your ic knowledge realistic and fair. Just because a member is noted here to be a spy doesn't mean your character is allowed to magically be privy to that information.

THE HUNTERS GUILD Faction.

All races welcome except Magi.
Hunters are non-magi followers of the Goddess Kalidas. Hunters are widely respected and generally act as Police or aid during times of strife for Human tragedies. On the forefront, it is a respectable religious organization. However it is common practice for Hunters to pursue Magi in the goal of killing them, dismembering their corpses to make money, and/or enslaving them secretly.

THE RUNIC UNIVERSITY Faction.
Headquarters: The Runic University; Felici City
Only Humans are welcome.
The University is the only place in the world that teaches Runic magic to humans. Students are mostly kept in the dark when it comes to the darker happenings that take place within its walls. However professors not only know of them but are forced to obey every single order the Headmaster gives them due to a cursed runic tattoo that is located somewhere on their bodies. Most of their goals are kept secret however serving the Headmaster is number one.

THE ETHEAN GOVERNMENT Faction.
Headquarters: Police Stations, Capital Buildings, etc; all cities
All races are welcome however Magi will be greatly prejudiced against and it's very rare.
The Government is built up of various divisions. Local to federal there are plenty of positions to fill. Police, intelligence, politicians. Each have their own agenda however in a perfect world they would all uniformly perform their duties so as to best serve the citizens of Ethea. They would aim to bring justice to those that broke the law and thwart terrorism.

The Magi Liberation Movement Faction.
Headquarters: the hidden Haven City; Arecia Forest
Magi are welcome. Other races might be allowed however gaining trust is extremely difficult.
The injustices, the racism, the intolerance, the concentration camps, the genocide. These magi are done being victims. Often recognized as terrorists this group uses violence frequently. Each member has their own reason for doing what the do however it's fair to assume that an overall goal of theirs is to improve the living conditions for Magi exponentially in their country. Overthrowing the current human-run government for one that is at least more diverse is probably on the to-do list.

RELIGIOUS GROUPS Faction.
Headquarters: Multiple shrines, cathedrals, etc
Members differentiate from deity to deity.
Clarifying something first, this is not a list of gods that your character believes in. This is a list of characters that are actively leaders in their various religious organizations. These are priestesses, monks, rabbis, nuns, gurus, imams, preachers, etc etc. Not all deities have these organized systems of worship such as Kupiec and Irilys.
KALIDAS
Hunters who are mentioned to be religious in the Hunter's Guild information would also fall under this category. Instead of rewriting them here we're just going to redirect you to the above list.
ARITHELIA
Mostly Magi followers however Arithelia is known for acceptance and forgiveness. A religion based loosely off of Shintoism the religious followers not only leave gifts for their Goddess but also take care of smaller shrines for the Spirits that also live within their world.

All races are welcome, though Tatara himself will not accept those with no soul (androids or empty mortals). The religion focuses heavily on death so those that assist families in mourning, psychics, exorcists, etc can be found here.

Vicis Crux. That is the name of the Owl God's secret society. Its existence is considered mere medieval myth to the average man but in reality is still very much alive. Each member has a tattoo on the inside of their wrist. The society's purpose is to collect the rarest texts for Irilys' Grand Library in the mortal realm and to assist with fated events occurring.
