I’m going to make the point here and now. Ulrich is NOT a nice guy. Every world has an end, and Ulrich is here to prove it to you. Ulrich finds pleasure in causing pain and misery on others and he doesn’t care to keep it hidden. He doesn’t believe life to be a precious thing, He has no qualms with ending one if it stands in the way of his goals, even more so if it can help him achieve them. If that means drowning an innocent child in mercury before their father’s eyes in order to torture him, then so be it. He does what he does out of both necessity and enjoyment.

Heartless
Ulrich doesn’t care about his Subordinate's feelings. He sees them as tools, nothing more. He doesn’t even give them credit for any achievements they complete. “Does a Surgeon thank the scalpel when the Surgery is finished? To be sentimental over a tool is meaningless.” Naturally, this thought process transfers to Cyborgs as well.

Ambitious
Ulrich’s main motivation is his ambition for power and knowledge. His goal is to have all of Ethea bow to him as their new king. But that isn’t the end of his story. No, Ulrich plans to take an Army of Elite Runic Hunters and conquer the known world. He’s willing to go beyond human decency, push all boundaries, manipulate, and kill to make his vision a reality.

Clever
When you are the headmaster of the Greatest school in the world, there’s no doubting one’s intelligence. However, Ulrich takes it a step forward. Ulrich is selective in where he applies that Intellect, How he Applies it, and the quantity needed. Ulrich can analyze a situation and quickly and effectively come up with the most efficient way to make things go his way. He’s excellent at creating plans and strategies. With this, he is able to look outside the box to get his results, and Ulrich has the moral standing to do whatever it takes.

Politician
Ulrich long ago found out that he excels in the brutal world of politics. Turns out, he's rather good at Lying, Manipulating, and making empty promises. Now, his skills have improved. His ability to put on a façade that none can see through is uncanny. He knows how to talk to the press, get positive ratings, and of course, how to redirect those pesky incriminating questions.

Scientist
Politics and Teaching may be his job, but science is his hobby. Spending most of his life devoted to science gave Ulrich an inquisitive mind. He loves getting a problem or question, he adores the search for answers. Getting stumped, while frustrating, also fills him with an uncontrollable need to solve it. He will not eat nor sleep until he solves the problem, working away with an insane smile on his face.

Mercury
Ulrich loves the element Mercury; One of the few elements that is naturally a liquid. The silver shine, the reaction to heat and cold, the elusive properties, all is fascinating to him. Not only that, he loves mercury because while it is so beautiful of a liquid, it is one of the most poisonous elements. Whenever he can, Ulrich will find a way to use mercury in his “executions”. Through the years, Ulrich has given test subjects incredibly low doses of mercury in attempts to gain immunity to the poison. However he was unable do to the nature of the toxin. Mercury attacks the Immune System itself, giving way to more serious diseases. Though he was saddened by his inability to become resistant to the metal.

However, His obsession comes at a price. recently there are times where is sanity slips from him. He laughs hysterically and his thirst for blood increased dramatically. While during these spells he seems possessed by the mad god himself. However, afterwards he is filled with rage. he hates these spells of insanity. his mind is one of his greatest treasures and he feels betrayed by the mercury he holds in such high regard.

On The Gods
Ulrich Has memories that is only beaten by the gods themselves. He remembers himself as one of the first souls released into this world. He has seen wars, he has seen peace, he has seen gods rise... But he had seen them fall. They were flawed, and in no way deserved worship. Hell, Without the worship that Humans provide, they fall and die, wither away and then forgotten. Humans die and are reborn, we are the reason for advancement of technology, in medicine, and Philosophy. The gods are but tools to further Humanity.

On Cyborgs
Impurities made upon Humanity in attempts to better it. Failing to do so they became less than human. Ulrich scoffs at anyone with "impurities" However, Androids are even lower than that. They are purely tools; Inhuman, Machine, No Soul, just wires, electrons and an extensive programing to feign Emotion. Each one is nothing more than property.

On Magi
While He Preaches a death to all Magi, that they are the enemy, he in fact doesn't care that much about them. Mostly because he still has memories of past lives either Being born as a Magi or being close friends with one, Both facts he would deny and never admit to. Ulrich Himself has grown up in an era where Magi are hated, and thus still carries those ideals. He looks at them as insects, less than human, less than even a cyborg. No need for worry, just a need for an exterminator

ROAD TO POWER
The Year was 2544, the height of the Industrial Era. Ulrich was born to a Noble family of Strun, the Von Kaisers, a family whose wealth sprung from their control over the Transportation Industry of the country. Like all Newborns, Ulrich was registered with the exact time of birth at the hospital. Such a practice has been going on for decades with no one questioning it. However the Von Kaisers were about to find out why this practice was in place.

When Ulrich was of five years of age, there was a knock on the door. A Representative of the Runic University was there to greet them with a story to tell. He told of the first Headmaster of the university, a man by the name of Belenus Alain, who had successfully achieved Enlightenment, Remembering every past life he has had. In order to continue his leadership long after he died and reincarnated into his next life, he put a system in place. Children's time of birth were to be reported, and those whose time of birth matches the time of death of the previous life are to be given a test to see if they are the reincarnation of the great Headmaster. Ulrich's birth-time had matched with the death of the previous headmaster. So he would be given a test to see exactly if he was the Headmaster's Reincarnate. He placed 3 cards in front of the child.

"Which is You?" He asked calmly. While Ulrich's parents were highly confused by the question. Most people choose the tree, thinking that it's a trick question, that the question is really spelled "Which is Yew", However Ulrich was only five, He wouldn't figure that out. But with barely any time to think it through Ulrich calmly choose the card in the middle, little to his knowledge, choosing the ancient Hieroglyph for the letter "U".

Ulrich, who to him, just chose a random card, passed the test that all other children had failed so far. While other tests are in place in the result of two children passing the first test, It has been confirmed through many years of research that the Reincarnate always chooses the Hieroglyph first. Naturally, things like time and hesitation are factors to consider, but Ulrich had full marks.

After that moment, the Ulrich was sent to the University. Now normally, The Incarnation's entire family is brought to the University, however, Ulrich's father and mother were nobles, deeply rooted into their household and position. So they just sent Ulrich off to "boarding school", happy to use Ulrich's newfound role as an ego boost. While they were told to keep the Reincarnation system a secret, They could boast that their child was specifically recruited to the university. Something they readily used to increase their status among the nobles.

Ulrich grew up in the Headmaster's Mansion, a building as old as the University itself. The people who he taught in his previous life raised him. He had a harsh schedule, constant sessions to learn and practice Regression, General Education to keep the young mind up to date, Language classes to teach nearly every spoken dialect, anything and everything his past life desired him to be taught, he did. His only reprieve from the mundane was his science class. Science, specifically chemistry, was always changing always evolving, yet remained at its core stable and unyielding.

Finally, as the years passed, Ulrich achieved Enlightenment when he was eighteen, his record time. As usual, upon remembering every lifetime, every pain, every loss, every death, and every love; Ulrich changed. Each lifetime changes personality when they become enlightened, but how they change is often different. Ulrich was... an odd case. Rather than becoming stoic and wise, a common outcome, He became more cruel, violent, and apathetic to all.

From then on, he had to keep up appearances. It wasn't completely widespread that The Headmaster Reincarnates, so he couldn't just take over as a 18 year-old kid officially. While he controlled the university from behind the scenes, he unfortunately had to sit in the very classroom he provided the curriculum for. Naturally, he passed every class with flying colors. In the Meantime he took notes of his fellow students on which would succeed, which would fail, and which were cheating. Before long, it was taboo to cheat due to the sudden detention they would get slapped with, even though the teachers could never have found out.

During his time at school, Ulrich noticed the current political situation of Ethea. He saw that there was a great war coming, and he wanted to make sure he would be ready. he began to train for that day. He regressed to his warrior or fighter memories, having them train his body to use when the time was right. While Ulrich himself had to deal with the sore muscles in the morning, his past lives took care of all the training he needed. Over the many years his body grew the strength, speed and stamina to keep up with his past lives' abilities.

Ulrich spent a majority of his free time experimenting with chemistry. While his past lives had taken up Engineering, Math, Biology, Physics, and many other subjects, Chemistry was one he hadn't taken up for a while. Locked away in his private lab at home he experimented, making all sorts of concoctions. "what would happen if I mixed these too and transmute it into a gas?" would be one of many starts to these experiments. it was here that he found a fascination with the element Mercury. He was captivated by the shine, the poisonous capabilities, and its unique reaction to heat.

By the time he was Twenty-five, Ulrich was already a teacher at the school. Teaching the most advanced class in Rune Magic. Every year it was always the same. No one respected him at the start of the class based on his age. So Ulrich had to use fear to make his point; Leaving rune pages in the desks of the students. Once a student began to mouth off or otherwise disrespect him, Ulrich would Humiliate them by activating the rune... summoning the clothes the student was wearing to his desk, forcing them to go through the rest of the class naked. After a couple of cases, Ulrich no longer faced any student problems.

Classes, Training, Science. Ulrich's life has been so incredibly boring over the first half of his life; It was time to make a change. At the age of 27 Ulrich staged the death of his headmaster proxy and officially took over as the headmaster once again. Finally, he could get back to work. Every lifetime since this school was built he had to go through and take over again and again. It took up half of his current lifetime just to get back to the standing he originally had. Ulrich was tired of it; he didn't want to go through learning the same shit again and again. However, to stop his cycle he needed far greater power than he had ever had before.

RISE OF THE POLITICIAN
Firmly back in his seat of power, Ulrich wasted no time in getting back to work. Lifetimes ago he made sure that the Headmaster had a seat in Parliament, but it would take more than that to get the power he craved. At the age of 27, once again, the other representatives of Parliament looked down on him, and immediately tried to use him to further their own political agendas. They believed that a young, easily manipulated mind could get them another vote. Hah, they sure were wrong. With Ulrich’s unknown experience in politics, it was easy tricking them into thinking they were fooling him.

Blackmail. It got easier every year. All politicians had some sort of skeleton in their closet, and Ulrich found just enough for him to use. Within a year he had four of the 23 representatives in his pocket. However, this wasn’t going to be enough to really make whatever waves he needed. It took a few more years, but by the time he was 30, he had seven representatives under his thumb.

Through the years, Ulrich established himself as a power player in the Parliament. He spoke often, he made countless of speeches and eventually he did gain respect and fear from the other representatives. And that respect was necessary once Election Day came up. While all the other representatives battled for their career, the seat that was reserved for the University Headmaster remained his. A new flock of representatives came in, unfortunately increasing the amount of pro-magi representatives in the parliament. Now we cant have that can we?

New meat, new tactics. With these fresh faces and fresh reputations, there isn’t a lot of blackmail that he could use. While he retained about four of his original seven representatives, he needed more.

Ulrich often arranged a brunch between him and one of the new, younger, representatives. He would prepare a very simple speech and two different pieces of paper. “Politics is a very ferocious sea.” He would say. “It shifts and moves with time. In this game, it’s pertinent that you find allies, and friends so the sea doesn’t swallow you. Choose the right ones, and you, and those you care about, can have a bright future ahead of you.” At this he would hand them the first paper, a letter of acceptance from the Runic University for their child or younger sibling. As Headmaster is was trivial to grant scholarships to particular individuals. And a full ride scholarship to the greatest school in the world usually was all that was needed to get their loyalty.

However, there were select… fools, who wanted to remain clean and denied his attempt at bribery. This was where the second sheet of paper would come in. Transfer papers for one child or spouse to a magi relocation camp. He’d look at them with a very serious gaze and say “It’s a shame such a mistake happens so often. Humans claimed to be a zero magi in disguise, they are sent to the camps for the safety of all. Too bad the Magi there are not very friendly with humans in their midst. Accidents do tend to happen in such dismal places.” No one has every backed down from the second sheet. By the time Ulrich was 45, he had over half the representatives of parliament, threatened, bribed, or blackmailed.
