Event Plot:
In the news recently there has been an unexplained spike in deaths. Odd deaths. Bizarre incidences in which people are dying in their sleep to be found the next morning with a look of anguish and horror upon their faces. The unpleasant story arising so close to Halloween, of course through modern media, spreads quickly, attracting attention and causing scientists as well as the average person to theorize as to the cause of peculiar deaths.
You as the character find yourself in a dream where you are fully self aware. A strange dream that you have never experienced before. Extremely realistic. You feel pain. You feel shortness of breath. The correlation between the news and this situation you're may or may not occur to you however I assure you they're connected. Can you survive the nightmare? Or will you fall to your fears and be killed? Both here and in reality.
The Goddess of Dreams and Nightmares has grown angered from the lack of praise to Her name as of late. This is Nevyne's way of demanding faith and attention. You will praise this Goddess or She will take great joy in watching you struggle to stay alive.
Rules:
1) Be aware of mortality rate!
There is a chance your character can die in this event depending on how you write. Please be aware of this before signing up. Chances are based on your ability to roleplay, not rng or happenstance; basically, if you roleplay like a fool, then you are responsible for the consequences of such. Dealing with gods is, in fact, more dangerous than it may seem in other threads.
2) Signing up.
Sign up's will last one week. You sign up by posting below with the character you wish to use (only one, please, if you have multiple). You will also be given the option of preferring a one-on-one thread where it's just you and the Goddess threading. Or you can ask to be grouped with other characters to have joined nightmares. Could be an interesting way of meeting someone you would normally never be able to.
Also include in your signup post ideas and things that would be nightmarish to your character, such as traumatic memories, phobias, worries, and so forth. The more details, the more interesting the nightmare can be!
3) Rewards when/if you make it through.
-The possibility of a blessed ability from Nevyne.
-One guaranteed event point.
-One guaranteed chance to view a dream/nightmare of a person of your choosing, including NPCs (Perhaps a missing family member~)

Alistair has always been curious of the other gods. After all they seem quite attached to humanity... Maybe Alistair will meet Nevyne or maybe not. Alistair has some bad memories of torture and killings of the camp. However he is scared tongue 'shadow' so to speak. On the night of his escape from the camps and genocide he had an encounter with some hunters... It ended in their deaths... But what made him afraid was the kind of person he would become because of the tinge of enjoyment as he has denied the side of himself that feels power hungry. (a good example to play this off is with out of body experiences watching himself commit acts he doesn't want to admit he would enjoy. Best way for him to encounter his darker side of himself are like the shadow selves of persona 4.... I'll edit a link in a bit) Here's one example youtu.be/LpwFkG3Rki0Edit: adding to the nightmares is the goddess Arithelia expressing hate or distrust towards him... But he may be more suspicious from this than scared. So do this if you think you can be convincing(also the fact I have no way to refer to any of past post since they have yet to interact.) or her sister stuff with his sister. |

Dullahan has to face her visions, whether or not she is ready.
Nightmare themes for Dullahan: Fire, Feelings of weakness or helplessness, death or harm to family (sister, niece, nephew), inability to remember life before fire, Fire Magi (Specifically Ember), themes associated with visions (central park, purple flowers, static, familiar yet unknown woman's voice).
Other details to follow via message. Note: Since Sassy controls both characters, Rinny will be playing Nevyne for this specific thread.

Oh look, an opportunity for suffering. Time to toss in the poor sweet child.
I think a good nightmare for Luca would involve his dead father (and possibly also his mother). Both were killed protecting him, and the guilt over being unable to do anything about it but run to save his own skin would be a good thing to exploit, especially in the case of his father. Having to face one or both of them, while they berate him over "leaving them to die", seems like it'd be a lovely traumatic experience to go through.
Alternatively... perhaps he could be forced into a situation in the dream where he has to hurt/kill someone, which he will be very averse to, or he could be stuck running from/cornered by a bunch of big, scary Hunters.
Edit because I forgot this earlier: I'm fine with either a group or one-on-one thread.

Fey will join this event! She respects all the gods to some degree, so would be interesting to see how it goes down with her~. Because who doesn't like traumatizing their babbies.
Nightmare Themes: Obviously plenty of bad times come from the camps. For Fey in particular it would be having been excessively drugged on downers and essentially kept in a tiny metal container for several days, followed by months of being drugged up on the things. Next would be the camp breakout and the genocide that followed, Particularly the event which caused her to be separated from her mother. Otherwise more general stuff would be isolation, losing others, being betrayed, that sort of thing. Most anything dealing with hunters.
Fine with a one on one or a group thread, whichever works better for the event!

Daniel is a man in search of redemption for past sins. His time in the Hunter's Guild saw him at the hands of dozens of vicious murders and other atrocities. And even though he searches for a way to free himself from the weight of his crimes, there has always been a small part of him that enjoyed the work. Even now, he sometimes dreams of returning to his grisly work. One of Daniel's greatest fears is that he isn't truly deserving of redemption, that the lust for blood and violence is what truly drives him.
One interesting way this could play out is for him to be trapped in a dream in which he is still an active member of the Hunter's Guild and hunting magi for money and amusement. The catch is that he sees the actions of this version of himself as he is now and is unable to avert the heinous actions he commits. Another one would be for him to encounter a darker reflection of the thoughts seething on the edge of his conscience.

Embry doesn't believe in silly superstitions. This might change her mind.
Nightmare ideas: She dotes on her brother so definitely use that against her. Terrified of cats, hates guns. This is a little harder since she is such a new charrie and I haven't figured everything out about her. It is quite funny because part of her nightmare could include having nothing but dresses. I know it sounds stupid but Embry freaking hates having to dress like a lady and there is nothing that would freak out her out more than not having her usual stuff around her. -- also there is a part of her past in which still bugs her. Her father never loved her - blamed her for her mothers death. This could be encorperated by her seeing herself as the small child, begging for her fathers lvoe never getting it -- her father couldn't bring himself to kill her but instead ignored her you could probably do something with that. I dunno, kind of have fun I guess? There is also the fact of all the shady dealings she does -- she is slightly plagued sometimes by the fact that if something went wrong she could be kidnapped by a crime boss or something stupid like that and bad bad things would happen ----

I'll be sliding Archaleos into this! Either a one on one or group thread works for me, since I'm definitely interesting in seeing who he could end up interacting with through this strange circumstance.
As for ideas for his nightmare... Arch's biggest fear is of failure. He's frankly terrified of the idea of being seen as worthless by other people, failing to make anything of himself after all this work he's put in, and has never had to deal with disapproval from others thus far. He also has a smaller fear of death by drowning or suffocation in general, which ties into the potential for him to panic when put into a situation he can't think his way out of. Feeling helpless and/or clueless really screws with him.

A group thread works as long as it isn't more than 3-4 people in total. If that's not possible, I'm happy with a one on one.
Nightmare fuel: A endless loop where Shinzu is doomed to repeat the same actions over and over again, only to reach the same failed result where either he or someone he cares about dies (he hates knowing that his actions might have no real effect on a particular outcome). Being stalked/cursed by Kalidas is also another massive fear. Deep down inside, Shinzu fears that the Goddess may turn on him for helping Magi. Lastly, Shinzu dreads the idea of the headmaster (or anyone else) placing any sort of seal or curse on him that would turn him into a mindless puppet that is constantly forced to carry out actions that go against his morals.

Nightmare Themes: Let's see ... Dreams are the one place Elijah can still see so as a writer it's going to be very odd to write for an Elijah that isn't blind. And I like that. However, I think if certain details were left blurry or pitch black I think that could be effective. Like his missing daughter. Major key player in never finding her. So maybe her face is always hooded or blurred? idk, it's up to you of course. Umm, so yeah. Daughter. Never finding her. Failing in to protect her. Serena, his wife, telling him that he failed them both. I mean, a monster contorted version of Serena would be terrifying I think. Could lead to a chase scene or something. The family angle is really your strongest bet. I mean, acid was used to take his sight so you could recreate that moment in his life? Being held down/strapped down and have something pouring towards him but that's up to you~

"Nightmares would require sleep. It'd be nice every now and again." I'm signing Drew up for this event. He is an insomniac, mostly because when he does sleep, he has a lot of nightmares. From 20 years of involuntary experimentation and a lot of bodies dropped in his life, he has a lot of memories that haunt him. He is also afraid of how gifted he is at violence, because he isn't an evil person at heart. As far as phobias, Drew is terrified of large quantities of water, because he can't swim and it is very uncomfortable to feel on his skin. Also, he is afraid of laboratory settings, and losing Lilith. For ideas in regards to the labs, here is a sample thread of their life in the lab. Be aware that it's pretty dark. I would prefer if he was in a thread with a number of other people, because he doesn't associate with people as much as I would like. |

Signing Kyne up~ Cause why not screw up an already screwed up person!?
Kyne has a fear of being experimented on due to that actually happening to her in her past. So, as ironic as it sounds, any haunted asylum, laboratory, or hospital-like place would creep her out. Also, anything that involves seeing her twin tortured is also going to unnerve her.

Sterling has the same fears as Kyne as well as being unable to help his twin. He is afraid of being isolated, losing more limbs and being betrayed. So, there can be a lot of fun with this and hospitals is on the list too

Ah shoot. I am going to try this one too. This will end badly. Since, I have no ideas other than dealing with the ghost of his dead mother I'll propose that. A group thing would be fun, but since I am kind of slow to post and I'd hate to keep others waiting I'd prefer one on one. However, I'd roll with whatever accomodates Sassy's needs.
