Personality overall

At first glance, Archaleos comes across as a well bred gentleman— eloquent, polite, obviously educated and preened by a high quality upbringing that makes him come across as a likable guy. ...deceptively so. If you are a human he approves of this will be the only part of his persona that you see, but if you're slovenly or sacrilegious or, worse, a magi that facade falls to pieces very quickly. He's not shy about his distaste for certain things (of which there are quite a few) and he will not spare your feelings when he proceeds to go on and detail each of things you are doing wrong with your miserable life. He's not nice. Even when it comes to interacting with people he has a good opinion of all of the teen's pleasantries have this subtly hollow quality to them, like a smile that doesn't reach the eyes. He's very distant and finds it difficult to completely hide his disinterest in making connections with others.

What Archaleos lacks in genuine warmth for others he more than makes up for in his bottomless zeal for his job. Hailing from a long line of anti-magic, highly religious ancestors has hammered it into his head that magic is a perversion of nature and he is avidly behind this so called "crusade" against it. Runic magic is marginally more tolerable (if used for the good of humanity) but Archaleos lives to hunt and to serve his beloved goddess Kalidas. To call him a devotee is an understatement. He would do just about anything she asked, all for the sake of pleasing her, while holding (almost) all of the other gods in very high esteem as well. His prejudice against magi is disgustingly potent and he will never give up a hunt once set upon his prey, using his high level of intelligence to discern the best means of attack and track them wherever they try to run.

Hair: Light brown in color with a few dusty highlights, always kept trimmed to not ever fall beyond his ears in length. He keeps it meticulously combed and as neat as possible but his hairstyle tend to be plagued by its naturally fluffy texture as well as rampant cowlicks.

Eyes: Dark enough to appear black at a distance but his irises are actually an exceedingly deep brown. His right eye is a cybernetic replacement which looks very authentic, only taking on a luminous yellow glow when its advanced functions are being put to use.

Body Type: He stands at 5'11" and 140 lbs, which puts him at above average height but not excessively so. His body type, on the other hand, leans more towards the opposite side of the spectrum. He's always been very slim and finds it difficult to put on extra bulk— make no mistake, he has his fair share of definition in the form of whipcord muscle lurking beneath his skin —so he fits the long and lanky sort of silhouette. His skin tone is on the paler side.

Robotic Parts: The most noticeable inorganic parts of him are his arms— each of which are robotic up to and including the elbow. One of his eyes is robotic (as mentioned above) and he also has a strong metal alloy reinforcing his spine and skull as well as forming a protective cage over many of his essential organs. These enhancements make it more difficult to badly wound him, if you're going with stabbing or blunt force, but it's still very possible since he's mostly human rather than machine. 

Fashion

Archaleos tends to default to a formal type of dress, even when out hunting or doing other physical activity, that includes black pants, button down shirts, combat boots, and his ever present trench coat. He hates to leave the house without looking clean and put together but he doesn't neglect function entirely. His clothes are often made up of durable blends that can hold up against some stress and will allow him freer range of motion.

Archaleos was born as the second son to the Durant family, a historically wealthy and well educated lineage that had never been shy about its stance on magic and its interaction with their world. Their name can even be traced back to the Age of Peace where, even when general opinion of magi was at an all time high, they regarded the magi race with potent suspicion at best. The inbred prejudice only intensified with the passage of generations and by the time that magi were beginning to fall out of public favor the Durant family made up some of the leading anti-magic proponents. Vocal and opinionated, some of their wealth even went into encouraging the laws that would force bar code identification upon magi and limit their rights. Needless to say, they were avid supporters of the decision to create relocation camps, as well.

It also goes without saying that Archaleos was submerged in anti-magic teachings from the time that he was old enough to understand what his tutors were saying. Hunter/police force was a common profession in the family but that was far from the only path in life that would be accepted by Archaleos' parents, it was considered equally honorable to work in some other high paying, respected position such as a lawyer, doctor, etc. As such, the boy was (first and foremost) given an education of the highest quality possible with keen eyes always on him to track his progress. It was a demanding environment and lacking somewhat in affection, but Archaleos didn't mind all too much and instead thrived under the treatment. He wanted to make his parents proud.

His mother mostly stayed around the house to keep the family's affairs in order (cooking and cleaning and tending to the children done primarily by employees) while the boy's father, Cornelius, was a Hunter. Archaleos had always nursed a sense of admiration towards the man and what he did, but it wasn't until the mass outbreak of magi that his aspirations changed. Cornelius was extremely active in the fight to "regain public security" and came back on numerous occasions to tell his sons about the magi he had hunted and the terrible things he had stopped them from doing to innocent people. Embellished lies, most of them. Archaleos ate it up like it was air in lungs and it was when his father sustained an injury serious enough to drive him to retire that he told his parents he wanted to begin training to become a Hunter. Training commenced— both physical and mental, to shape him into a magi's worst nightmare —and again Archaleos informed his parents of another wish. For his 15th birthday he wanted robotic enhancements, to make him stronger.

They agreed.

It was during the following year of recuperation from the operations that Archaleos' older brother, Caleb, came out with a... far less pleasant surprise. He'd been nurturing a secret fascination with Runic magic and, now twenty years old, he told the family that he'd be enrolling in the Runic university. Archaleos had been close with his brother; they don't see each other much now.

Archaleos formally joined the Hunter's Guild when he was seventeen and has been working as an active member for more than a year now, an eager thirst to serve prompting him to throw himself into his duties with a fervor that is hard to miss. His family is nothing but supportive and, though he will occasionally get unfriendly looks towards his enhancements, he really doesn't care what others (even his peers) think of him. The robotic parts make him a better Hunter, so what else matters?

Hollow Alloy: Bullets can cause dents and can eventually be penetrated. However, you are capable of reaching speeds that are untouchable through the use of Propulsion. These speeds can also be realized in flight through the purchase of Flight.

Convenient Shield: One of your arms can shift itself into a bullet proof shield that is just large enough to protect all of you if you crouch down into the tightest ball you can.

Melee I: Can accomplish fundamental and basic feats with melee weapons. Note: He favors a falchion type sword named "Azriel". Similar to this.




Enhanced Strength: You are now capable of displaying strength that is two times as impressive as would a human of your exact same dimensions.

X-Ray Vision Object: Able to look through objects and up to one wall at one time. However it doesn't work on objects that contain lead.




Melee II: You are now better able to dual wield if you wish to.

Melee III: Depending on your character's insinuated realism a character can be up to a mastery level with this purchase. Even up to being able to slice a bullet from mid air.
