Through food and drink, We remember where we come from. It comes as little surprise when the smell hits upon entering the vicinity of the food stands. A hint of every spice known to man and magi alike can be detected in abundance upon the slight breeze that blows through the stands. The crackling sizzle of various meats being fried over anything from portable ovens to open fire pits is heard at seemingly every turn. Chefs and cooks from every corner of Ethea and beyond demonstrate their skill as they tempt passersby with the aroma of their craft. Children can be seen huddling around the many stands peddling sweet treats like shaved ice and little candies. All the food is available for a small donation that goes towards assisting other pilgrims in finding their way safely to Haven.
Paper lanterns hang from hooks on each stand and from wires linking wooden posts driven into the ground, lighting the way through the narrow street walkways as families and groups of friends explore the plethora of dishes both familiar and exotic. Signs written in as many dialects as one can imagine denote the particular specialty of each stand’s chief.
This is post not only gives a brief description of the scenery but also acts as the starter for all general threads. With this event being a free for all social activity this is where are all posts will be made unless you begin a lengthier scene between certain characters. That way you're not going to have to dig as much until you find the post that you're wishing to respond to.

305 words @tag Omg there's food guys; this is amazing ► By scent alone Lelianna just wanted to eat everything.
Normally food wasn't exactly a concern for the earth Magi. Much like one of her beloved plants, she could easily thrive off sunlight along (well except for water of course). Because of that she didn't really have to eat. Did that mean she didn't like eating?
Gods no.
Especially when she was surrounded by heavenly scents such as these! Caroline had mentioned heading off to the temple by herself. Though Lelianna was only the slightest bit concerned, she's understood her friend's desire for privacy going to the sacred grounds. They were sacred after all, and lately the purplette seemed to have a lot on her mind. So with a (worried) little smile, the redhead had agreed to meet her later. Probably after she'd eaten as much food as she could healthily handle.
Where should she start?
The hermit didn't have much in the way of money, but what she did have she distributed to the stall tenders in exchange for their foods. What was she even trying? Hell if she knew: the earth Magi was basically bouncing from stall to stall, happily trying everything. Currently she was eating some cooked something impaled on a stick. A ke-bob was it? Whatever it was, it was good. A noise of appreciation left her before she swallowed her bite. "Wow this stuff is amazing! Yet there's so much more to try." Had she even gotten through a quarter of the food stalls yet? Maybe going through all of them was a tad ambitious and dangit if she wouldn't try! She turned to some random person beside her, all sense of awkwardness currently lost with the thrum of excitement the festival brought her. "Have you found a favorite yet? I don't think I'll ever be able to choose!"

why did you allow me to fall from the stars? إلهة 女神 θεά 여신 ديوي देवी אֵלָה [attr="class","windyscarlet"] Eating had been a sore spot for the deity. Ever since falling eating had evolved from what it had been. Before it was a treat. A once in a while hobby. Food and drink was not required for gods after all. It was not a necessary staple to continue existing like it was for mortals. But that was before she had fallen.
Where it still wasn't a crucial and mandatory vitality those who spent time around the goddess could tell a difference in her when she ate. Without food and water for a lengthy period of time Ari became more sluggish, sickly. Overall had a more difficult time getting by. But was Ari ready to admit that?
No. No she was not. Ari was working on coming to peace with many of her shortcomings, yes. But her "needing" to eat was one she had not yet even scratched. She was a god. A god didn't have to eat. It was the one newly discovered deficiency Ari was not prepared to admit yet. Not by a long shot.
So initially when the little girl walked into the grand city of Haven food was the farthest thought in her mind. Until, that is, until they came upon the food court. Something about the commorodity. The community. The happiness and excitement that came together around the multitude of tables. The laughs. The smiles. The smells. For the man who had chosen to accompany her it would probably have been humorous to watch the tiny child stop in her tracks.
"..... I think I want to try some." Ari would admit as watched the festivities continue. Stall after stall, vendor after vendor. Everything looked so ... great. Her iridescent eyes shimmered as another magi prayed to her name. One of the main reasons they had opted to purchase a pair of children's sunglasses. Ari had originally crossed her arms and risen an eyebrow at the overly cutesy pair of shades. Sparkly and, well, childish. But the point was to keep a low profile, right? If her size was "child" and she appeared visually to be a "child" Ari supposed they'd work for the day seeing as it was the only pair the vendor had in her size.
It wasn't another three seconds before they'd shimmer again, hidden behind the unicorn and rainbow sunglasses. "You're probably hungry anyways, right?" Ari would look upwards to the giant earth magi who stood behind her. "I wouldn't mind trying a few things here and there I don't think." She'd say, knowing that Jason would be happy to hear of her willingness to eat. "Not because I need to. Just because I think it could be fun."
Five minutes later. "Mmmmmmm~" Ari hummed with an ever growing smile. "It's so gooooood." The little girl would lick her fingers of the excess sugar from her donut holes before those eyes would look to the next stand. "Jason, I want to try some of that too!" Ari would declare, tugging at the hem of the man's shirt as she pointed with her recently licked clean finger. @someone ☁ muse ☁ notes here [newclass=.windyscarlet::-webkit-scrollbar]width:2px;background-color:#838383; border: 1px solid #cacaca;[/newclass][newclass=.windyscarlet::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]width:2px;background-color: #856d8b; border: 1px solid #856d8b;[/newclass][googlefont=Open+Sans][newclass=.Morning a]font: 6pt calibri;text-transform:uppercase;letter-spacing:2px; color: #ffffff;[/newclass]

Blessed is Arithelia, Mother of Magi. Blessed is the Inner Flame, eternally bright and warm as the sun. Blessed is the Tranquil Sea, ever formless and shifting. Blessed is the Solid Earth, firm and unbroken. Blessed is the Mending Hand, gentle and generous. -Jason Reed
Haven. It’d been nearly a year since Jason had stepped foot inside the only truly safe city his people had left in Ethea. Though the thought brought back an unpleasant memory, he was still glad to see that the city was still following in the teachings of the Mother of Magi and that tradition hadn’t been forgotten. He smiled when Arithelia chose to attend the festival celebrating the return of spring; it would do her some good to see that her children had not forgotten her.
Following along in the goddess’s wake was easy enough given his height. Towering head and shoulder over most of the magi he encountered made it far easier to notice the head of snow white locks drifting through the crowd; even if that weren’t the case, he wouldn’t have had much trouble finding her anyway thanks to the ridiculously girlish sunglasses. Jason smiled as remember the crossed look she gave him when he suggested she wear them. He explained that there was nothing else to fit someone of her… stature, which appeared to be enough of an explanation; they needed to hid her eyes effectively.
Jason blinked as they came upon the food stands and Ari paused in her tracks, saying that she wanted to try some of the food. The white line of a smile cracked his features. He’d learned early on that the goddess struggled with the fact that her mortality brought on the need to eat. Though it weakened her not to partake in sustenance, she would still avoid the subject at all costs, much to his chagrin. Hearing that she wanted to partake in the food being offered relieved a great deal of frustration he felt in being force to watch the goddess destroy herself. “I think that a bit of food would be in order. It’s been some time since I last ate.” He rolled his eyes at the goddess. “Yes, of course, fried foods and sweet treats and anything else on display would be interesting.”
Five minute later
It was amazing how much a small child—goddess or not—could stomach. Barely a five minute of traveling and Jason’s hands were already occupied with holding several food items. Even his tail wasn’t free of the task of holding a snowcone.
“So glad that you enjoying yourself,” Jason chuckled. He looked in the direction Ari was pointing in and grinned. “Onigiri is a good choice.”

[attr="class","post"] [attr="class","text-lyrics"]I'll sing it forever FoodWow there was so much food! The smells, the sights, the gentle smoke rising from the stalls! By the goddess, Cadence was hungry! It was a good thing Geno pushed her to take some extra “spending money,” because she was very liberal with her donations to each stall. It was the opposite of Dagos. There was plenty of food for everyone, nobody was going hungry, and it didn’t smell like garbage and poop. More and more she wished she could bring everyone from Dagos to Haven… Maybe one day. For now, it was time to enjoy the food! Whether or not Fiamma was with her at this moment was debatable; Cadence had a tendency to run ahead, and talk to people, and certainly there were people Fiamma wanted to talk to, too, right? Then again, the two were very hard to find apart. It would be entirely up to Fiamma if she was hot on Cadence’s heels at this moment, as she ran from stall to stall and ordered the most delicious things she could (And some nonperishable things to stuff in her bag and take home to share!) While cruising the food stands and taking in the sights, she saw… no, it couldn’t be. No way! That was Ari, hanging out with a large friend she hadn’t met before. No crowd nor protest nor force of all the deities combined could stop her mad dash towards the goddess. “Ari! Ari! Ari! Ariariari ariariariariariaRIIIIIIIIII~!” She spared the small figure from a leaping hug but ran into her with open arms and wrapped her up in a tight hug. And if big man tried to stop her? Well, Cadence’s enthusiasm would not be denied, and her agile little body would try to find some way around him, be it over his head or under his legs. She squeezed the goddess with strength beyond her body, channeling all of her joy and excitement into one single sign of affection. “Ari! Oh gosh how are you! I’m so glad to see you oh my goodness I can’t believe you’re here, or I can believe it because it’s a big festival for you isn’t it but it’s my first time here and I didn’t expect to see you and wow I’m glad you’re doing okay and I hope you’re not sick anymore and who is your friend hi friend I’m Cadence it’s nice to meet you!” Most people would need to take a breath after that, but not Cadence. She finally released the goddess and stepped back… then remembered herself with a blush. Quickly she knelt on one knee before her and bowed her head. “Ahah, er, sorry! I was just. Very excited to see you again, my goddess.” [attr="class","text-lyrics"]Always on my lips you will dance so sweetly the leviathan @ GS & BRSW[newclass=.icon-bg]padding:10px;border:1px solid #000;height:100px;width:100px;margin-right:10px;[/newclass][newclass=.iconhere]-moz-transition: all 0.9s ease-in-out;-webkit-transition: all 0.9s ease-in-out;-o-transition: all 0.9s ease-in-out;[/newclass][newclass=.iconheres]-moz-transition: all 0.9s ease-in-out;-webkit-transition: all 0.9s ease-in-out;-o-transition: all 0.9s ease-in-out;opacity: 0;[/newclass][newclass=.iconheres:hover]-moz-transition: all 0.9s ease-in-out;-webkit-transition: all 0.9s ease-in-out;-o-transition: all 0.9s ease-in-out;opacity:1;[/newclass][newclass=.notestxt]padding-top:20px;font:small-caps 10px 'Times New Roman',serif;color:#fff;text-align:justify;padding:10px;overflow:auto;[/newclass][newclass=.text-lyrics]display:inline-block;font: italic 9px/100% Times New Roman,serif;text-align:center;letter-spacing:1px;width:80%;border-bottom:1px solid #000;line-height:0.1em;margin:10px 0 20px;margin-left:30px;[/newclass][newclass=.text-lyrics span]background:#fff;padding:0 10px;[/newclass] [newclass=.post]font:11px Times New Roman,serif;color:#1c1c1c;padding:0px 20px 0px 0px;height:350px;width:330px;text-align:justify;overflow:auto;line-height:130%;position:relative;margin-top:-400px;margin-left:100px;[/newclass][newclass=.post::-webkit-scrollbar-track]border:1px solid #000;background-color:#fff;[/newclass][newclass=.post::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background-color:#000;[/newclass][newclass=.post::-webkit-scrollbar]width:4px;background-color:#fff;[/newclass]

why did you allow me to fall from the stars? إلهة 女神 θεά 여신 ديوي देवी אֵלָה [attr="class","windyscarlet"] Jason had been correct. The onigiri were very nice. Ari had stood up on her tiptoes whilstlightly tapping her bottom lip in thought. It was a lovely menu the stand had. Choosing, to the chef's surprise, her fifth onigiri. A task that didn't take too terribly long at all. The chef gave his sweetest smile to what he believed to be a magi child as he handed over the triangular friend onigiri.
"Thank you!" Ari had smiled brightly as she streeeetched up to welcome the treat in the palm of her hand. They weren't as sweet as sushi but easily arguable to being just as delightful. Upon being waved goodbye Ari would skip back to her Earth Magi traveling companion who had been waiting near by. It wouldn't be long before a tiny bite would be had with the expected "Mmmm~" following. "Oh, Jason. This one is good too." Ari would say as she chewed happily. "You need to try this one. Here." Holding up the onigiri to the taller man she'd offer the treat until either he tasted it or expressed he'd pass for whatever reason.
With the food nestled back within her delicate fingers Ari would rise it back up to her lips to take another bite. Yeah, this onigiri was her favorite thus far. Yaki onigiri the vendor had called it. The trick, he had said, was to glaze the onigiri with unagi sauce rather than the usual soy sauce or miso. The man was brilliant as far as Ari was concerned. It sweetly caramelized the browned rice perfectly.
On its return trip for a round two tasting the little girl's hand would pause in mid rising to her mouth. "Ari!" This was different. This wasn't another prayer. "Ari!" Not only was this distanced calling actually occuring nearby but the voice was familiar. "Ari!" And drawing nearer. The voice was one of excitement. Joy. Someone was this happy to see her ... A smile itched at the corners of her lips as she turned her head. "She is fine." Ari mentally informed Jason through the use of telepathy just moments before she was bumped into and embraced. (That is, of course, as long as Jason allows Cadence past XD)
The next moments would pass in a flurry of uninterrupted splattering of words. So many questions with absolutely zero allowed empty space to actually answer them. Ari rose an amused brow at the teenager all up until Cadence lowered into a one kneed bow. The smile crumbled into a self aware worry. "Nonononono. Please." The little girl hurriedly tapped the magi's shoulder with her non-onigiri hand. "I don't want the attention. That attention." Depending on how quickly Cadence stood back up Ari would use air magic to create a small focused current to insinuate the upward direction. "Thank you."
Upon Cadence rising Ari's smile would easily fall back into place. "I'm excited to see you again too. Cadence, this is Jason." Ari would motion to the giant man. "Jason, this Cadence." [attr="class","oho"] he paid dearly for his moment of paradise while knowing in his gut it could never last. [attr="class","monalisa"]Drew just couldn't stay away from the food stands. Not only was the food delicious, but the smell carried throughout Haven. For a nose like his, it was a lasting temptation that he just couldn't quite escape. In addition, he was a large man with a very fast metabolism. It was a recipe for disaster, really. But fortunately, the food was cheap, and there was an abundance of it. He made his way between a few different stands, piling his double-reinforced plate high with all kinds of good smelling meats. He'd never really cared much for spices, but the sauces that he'd tried so far had been an interesting mix of sweet and zesty. He could definitely go for more of it.
He was just finishing off a chicken leg with some form of sweet sauce when he spotted Lelianna, and then Cadence nearby. Goodness, those two really got around. Drew finished the last of the meat on his plate, licking his fingers before locating a napkin to wipe his face and the rest of the debris on his hands. As he stood from his seat, he realized that there had been a child staring at him for a while, and his eyes were wide as he looked at the empty plate. Drew's cheeks darkened, wondering if he'd eaten too fast to be polite. Considering the condition of most of his meals, he didn't usually think a good deal about table manners.
He ignored the kid, heading over to the waste basket and dropping the empty plate and napkin inside. He wasn't full, but he wasn't ravenously hungry anymore, either. There was a massive Magi, about Drew's size, and a small child that Drew didn't recognize, but he didn't pay them a lot of attention because he didn't know them. He looked down at Cadence, knowing how often she went without food. Was she getting enough to eat?
"Cadence," he said, tilting his head at her. "Have you eaten your fill yet? If you need some money to buy more, it's no trouble."
He didn't exactly have disposable income, but the food cost a pittance compared to what it normally did, and he knew that Cadence almost never had money or food to spare. Lilith wouldn't mind. She never seemed to mind if he wanted to help people, as long as it wasn't in a way that put him in physical danger here. Unless Cadence hugged him to death, there was little chance of that.

Jason smiled contently as he swallowed the remainder of snow cone and the few other items of food he’d collected and watched as his goddess continued enjoying herself. He offered the slightest dipping of his head to chief before returning his attention to the small girl form his goddess wore in that moment. “I think that I will. Thank you.” His tail tossed the paper cone clutched into a nearby trashcan while on of his now free hands reached out and tore a small piece from the treat and plopped it into his mouth. He was about to comment on the particular taste when a singsong voice interrupted his thought before it could fully form. His head swiveled around and caught sight of a small, winged figure running towards them.
The smiled died on his face to be replaced by his usual stony frown as he prepared to draw upon his magic. He didn’t wish to harm the girl, but her antics were drawing unnecessary attention and he and Ari were supposed to be incognito during the course of this event. Perhaps a wall of soft earth placed directly in her path would be sufficient lesson. His hand was stayed by the voice speaking directly into his mind. He let his grip upon his natural gifts fade while the young magi bombarded Ari with affection.Chitinous clicks coincided with a widening of the eyes as air magi fell to a knee in reverence. Jason struggled to force his tail from expressing the panic that he otherwise kept from his features. He felt the desperate need to sting… something; instead, he forced himself to breathe deeply through his nose to prevent himself from giving into the baser instincts of his magi aspect. If the goddess trusted this young magi, then so would he.
Jason wrapped his tail around his waist to further assist in maintaining his control over the stubborn extremity. “Well met, Sister of Wind.” Dark brown eyes shifted to the large man that made himself know with his mere presence. “And you as well, brother.”

Who was she to question what Arithelia wanted? Heck, it was exciting just to know the goddess remembered her and was excited to see her! She beamed a smile at the large man, undaunted by his size. And guess what big guy? It was hug time! With a leap she wrapped her tiny arms around the man as far as she could manage. A moment later, she was back on the ground, waving up at him. “Hi Jason! why did you allow me to fall from the stars? إلهة 女神 θεά 여신 ديوي देवी אֵלָה [attr="class","windyscarlet"] Off like a hummingbird to its next flower Ari watched Cadence burst forth with energy from one hug to the other. Yet another familiar face though the little girl doubted he'd recognize her. Within the Dream Realm Ari had held a form more similar to how she was represented across her shrines and temples. Here? Psh. Here stood a child in a pair of rainbow unicorn sunglasses. Not exactly the sight that would ring familiarity of the Mother Goddess of the Magi race.
As she had assumed the fire magi didn't so much as linger his gaze her direction for more than a couple of seconds. She was but a magi child in his eyes and perhaps that was for the best. Not everyone took to seeing their patron deity in such a humbled state as well as Cadence did. And that was putting it as nicely as it could be.
"Hello, Drew." Ari would say in response to Cadence's introduction. The smile would be small but one that rang with recognition if one searched enough. Though given the laid back atmosphere it would be easy to overlook most assuredly as well. The next flurry of words expressed by the air magi would urge the smile to grow in amusement.
"Yes actually." The fallen goddess answered. "He's offered me a ride a few times now." Exchanging a light hearted gaze with her traveling companion Ari would choose to take another bite of the onigiri still within her hand. -Jason Reed
The click clack of Jason’s tail punctuated his surprise when Cadence all but pounced on him for a hug. He barely had enough time to blink before the small bird child was pouncing on the other man that had barely just arrived. A barely perceptible twitch of his lips signaled his bemusement at the situation and the boundless energy with which the little one comported herself with. It was almost infectious.
He shook his head bemusedly as he struggled to keep track of the rapid-fire questions sent flying his way even as Cadence introduced the newcomer as Drew. Jason found himself looking appraisingly at the man for a few moments to appreciate the fact that he wasn’t forced to look down to catch someone’s eyes. It was just shy of fascinating when such an occurrence took place, and it was something that he genuinely approved of, especially given how heavily muscled the man was. He had the bearing of a fighter as well, which only served to improve Jason’s opinion of the man.
“Well met, Brother Drew,” Jason said, tail clacking appreciatively. He inclined his head to look at Arithelia. “Yes, and every time I’ve done so, you’ve declined. I’m not entirely sure as to why though. Most children would jump at the chance to do so.” He shared the barest hints of a mischievous grin with the disguised goddess. Teasing the goddess of her small stature had become something of running joke with him as of late, though no disrespect or malice was meant. It was all in good fun.

why did you allow me to fall from the stars? إلهة 女神 θεά 여신 ديوي देवी אֵלָה [attr="class","windyscarlet"] "Most children would jump at the chance to do so.”
.... The little girl froze in all actions, almost as if someone had hit the pause button on a remote controller. The onigiri bite that had been in the process of being chewed now rest chipmunked in her left cheek. The fallen deity's facial expression wasn't a hurt one or one of anger. In fact she seemed damn right passive surprisingly. At least at first glance.
Slowly Ari's head would turn. Slowly Ari's chin would rise. Slowly eye contact would be made between the assumed magi child and the large man beside her. With a cheek still puffed full of rice the fallen goddess' lips would purse as if she'd just sucked on a lemon. The traces of a mischevious grin upon his face was not lost on Ari.
... chewwww ... chewwwwwww ... chew chew chew ...
Swallow.
"Heh." Those thin pale lips would curl into an amused grin of her own. The humor had not been lost on her. "Well I'd say 'most' is the key word there, hm?" Though in the same breath the girl would step forward with a growing smirk and rising brow. "Fine. As long as you don't drop me I guess I can try it."
Truth be told Ari had never experienced such a mode of transportation before. Sure, during her weaker moments Ari had been carried in a varying array of manners. But to be carried upon one's shoulders demanded her to be awake. And with how the goddess preferred to hold herself, she liked to carry her own weight when able. To new experiences she mentally cheers'ed the moment if the man chose to pick her up and place her upon his high up shoulders. [attr="class","oho"] he paid dearly for his moment of paradise while knowing in his gut it could never last. [attr="class","monalisa"]Drew's eyes rested on the other tall Magi, appraising him even as Drew was being appraised. From his build and how he moved, Drew wouldn't have been surprised if the man knew how to handle himself. But any concerns he might have had about aggression from such a man were dispelled by the respectful greeting, regardless of how tense and on edge the man looked. He wasn't in any danger, and yet he looked like he was on alert. Drew's eyes flicked down to the young Magi woman Jason was with. Was he... guarding her for some reason? They didn't look to be related. But really, whatever the relationship between the two, it wasn't Drew's business, unless it meant danger for him and his.
He gave the man a short, respectful nod. But his attention was diverted by Cadence's question, which he elected not to answer. Instead, he lifted an eyebrow at her, his lips twitching at the edges as he tried not to smile. The thought of Lilith riding on his back like he was a pony was bizarre, but he had a sneaking suspicion that Lilith would be highly amused if she'd heard of it. He'd carried his wife more than a couple of times, but never like that.
Looking back at the small girl with the pale features, he silently noted the changing expressions as she looked back at the tall Magi behind her. She was in charge here, no doubt. How peculiar. He had never heard of a Magi having a servant before, but that was what he was reading here. There was affection between them, no doubt, but there was a hierarchy here. He'd never seen such a thing between Magi before. He didn't know how to feel about it. Anyone who'd lived as a slave because of their race would probably feel just as conflicted about it as he did.
He turned his attention back to Cadence, who he understood far better. "If you've been snacking around, where would you say has the best meat?"
Maybe that line of discussion would be less unsettling on his instincts.

[attr="class","post"] [attr="class","text-lyrics"]I'll sing it forever Cadence couldn’t help but giggle at the interaction. “It’s really fun! Fiamma gave me a ride earlier; I can’t imagine how much you could see from on top of those tall shoulders!” Which… wasn’t true, but she forgot for a moment how much she could see by, you know, flying. Plus it would be super cute to see Ari sitting on Jason’s shoulders! She had so much she wanted to say to Ari! Check on how she was doing, tell her about all the things that happened since they last met, and the million other thoughts that raced through her brain in the blink of an eye. But before she could bombard the girl, Drew addressed her. The best meat, huh? “Hmmmm,” she hummed, tapped her foot and putting her hand to her chin. Her eyes went up as if trying to locate her brain and get it to work. “Well! The fish stall right by the games area had really good fillets over rice! And there’s a stand not too far away that had these huge meatballs in sauce! I can’t believe Fiamma finished the whole thing! That was super good! And they also had… kabobs? Is that what they’re called? They were really great, too!” She slapped her hand to her cheek. “Oh! Fiamma!” Duh! Talking about her reminded her to go look for her. She wheeled around to Ari. “Ari, I want you to meet Fiamma! I’ll go find her, and then I’ll find you again, kay?” She threw her goddess another affectionate hug. “I’ll be back before you know it! Have fun with each other! Nice to meet you, Jason!” And with a few steps and a flap of her winged arms, Cadence was up and away to go search for her missing girlfriend. Huh… where did she say she was going again? The bathroom, maybe? | | she expected the world but it flew away from her reach so she ran away in her sleep
Lucya found herself drawn by the spices and aromas of food being cooked. Drawn by her nose, she found her way through the crowd to a large area dotted with stalls. Some were open-air, others had seating, and all of them look downright delicious.
Wearing more traditional attire was difficult. Although pretty, it was cumbersome and heavy, and difficult to walk in. Lucya's hairstyle was rather freeing, though; her ears were free to swivel around and take in the bustle around her. It was the first time she had worn it up in ages, and it had taken awhile to do properly (dressing and hairstyling were so difficult alone). The braids and ribbons were gorgeous however, and Lucya was feeling rather spoiled today.
Sighing, Lucya started forward again, picking up her robes in one hand so as to not trip over them. One stall smelled particularly enticing; it was rich with aromatic spices, bot hot and sweet. Perfect.
Exchanging a small donation for the food, Lucya tucked in, finding a stool close by. There were a few small fried potato cakes, with lots of spices and hot sauce. Fried chiles and other vegetables topped off the cakes. Lucya grinned as she ate, eating as delicately as possible -- far from her usual norm, but this outfit was expensive, and she wasn't going to ruin it.
Finishing up her small meal, Lucya moved on. A small stall was selling fried fish fillets, which she passed on; while delicious, Luce was looking for more specific foods. Spicier ones.
"Aha!" The exclamation left her mouth happily. A stall selling a different fried cake, but it was coated in red chili powder and garnished with chili seed flakes. Another small donation, and Luce walked away with a stick full of small, bite-sized chili cakes. There was a commotion going on at another stall. Curious.
Lucya's ears flicked forward as she watched, contemplating. Pulling a chili cake from the stick not-so-delicately, she chewed, swallowed, thought. It seemed to be an onigiri stall, with multiple types of fillings. There were two large men, and two small children. Guardians, maybe, but one of them -- the small bird magi -- was flitting between the others, giving out hugs. Lucya giggled, pulling off another cake from her stick. Only one left. Feh, might as well grab some onigiri... and see what's going on.
Finishing up her cakes and disposing of the stick properly -- this was a festival celebrating nature, after all, and littering wouldn't be tolerated -- Lucya made her way over to the stall, curiosity driving her this time. The small bird magi took off, after a brief exchange of words, and Lucya paused.
Was that... "Jason?" Lucya questioned, blinking. Of course he'd be here. She came to a complete stop a few feet away from the group, beginning to grin widely and putting a hand on her hip. Her ears flicked forward, looking at the other two magi with Jason. A small girl, and another towering, imposing man. Strange company. Lucya nodded at them, ears flicking back and forth.
