Personality overall
Cadence is kind to a fault; she always assumes the best of people and tries to do good by them. Even if they're bad people at first, she will want to bring out their best. She has a danger sense, as most Dagos citizens do, but otherwise is a rather naïve girl, who is blinded by her optimism and desire to improve the world. She is guided almost entirely by her emotions and instinct, and will jump into things based on a fleeting feeling. When she is not performing, she is shy among strangers, but will warm up quickly to kindness. When she is performing, she gives herself entirely to the song, and lets her emotions flow freely; an awe-inspiring sight, by most accounts. Those are the moments you can get a glimpse at her core, at her essence. Her songs tend to be smooth, though the tone can be mournful, or uplifting, or somewhere in between, but they are always intense.
She spends most of her time being a light to the homeless and downtrodden who live down the street from her storage-shack-turned-home. She doesn't earn much, and whatever she has, she shares. She would go hungry to feed another, cold to warm someone else, and blind to give someone sight. Clearly this self-sacrifice can be taken advantage of, but even so, she would never stop.
She is a pacifist by nature and abhors violence. Hunters in particular make her nervous, though she knows they're human somewhere in there. Despite past atrocities, which are the subject for her more sorrowful songs, she would be the first to welcome forgiveness and peace with them, and hopes for this above all else.
She is devout to Arithelia, and gives tribute and thanks where she can. She makes trips to shrines to show her respect.

[PTab=APPEARANCE]
to the fallen and the forgotten
appearance
Cadence is a very obvious air magi; her wings are more akin to a harpy than an angel. Her white feathered wings are a part of her arms, and end just before her human hands. Fortunately, they grow out of the “back” of her arms, leaving her with a mostly normal range of motion. Her legs, while covered in rough skin, are very thin, and bend more in a birdlike manner (REFERENCE). It's as if her genes could not decide which legs to use, and so just sort of did both. Her feet are birdlike and curve into thick talons. Shoes are often an issue.
She is dark-skinned, which contrasts with her white feathers and hair (which is light and “feathery”, but more in a figurative sense this time). She is diminutive, at barely above 5'0”, and thin, though some would say emaciated is more accurate. She has a large scar running down her right eye, and a tear tattoo just under the other. Her facial features are soft and round; the whole of her looks as delicate as fine china.
She carries herself boldly, often walking with a spring in her step, a wide smile as her default expression. Her entire expression is glowing. When somber, she looks as though she will simply dissipate into the air, her glow replaced with a dark veil.
She does her best to keep up appearances for when she has to perform, but she does not usually have the means to during other times; she has no money for makeup, and even running water where she lives isn't a guarantee.
Fashion
Cadence doesn't have much in the way of a wardrobe. She has wide-collared shirts that expose most of her shoulders, with long, flowing sleeves, much like a robe's, to accommodate her wings. She also has some modified tank-tops for warmer weather. She keeps her stage clothes in good condition, but the others are quite worse for wear, despite efforts. She accompanies these tops with either modified jeans or long skirts; either way, her legs are obviously avian.
She is not afraid to go barefoot in the streets; there is no point into hiding her talons, and her lower leg/foot skin is thicker than normal (As well, she prefers flight). She does have a loose pair of decent shoes which can accommodate her odd feet, but she only wears these when going somewhere indoors.
Around her neck is a necklace, given by her mother, made from some beautiful-looking scrap metal and shiny rock found in the relocation camp. She never removes it.

biography
Cadence was born to a magi couple during their displacement at the relocation camps. Her birth was seen as a sign of positive change; her family, all air magi, were known for their black feathers, hence why they were known as crows. Cadence's, however, were pure white, which is thought to be the result of selective albinism, or perhaps a distant recessive gene. As a child, this bothered her, as she felt like an outcast, but her parents always assured her she was loved, and called her “Little Crow.” The magi were all very close since the relocation, and they all showed each other such love. Cadence always tried to make all of them so happy, because she thought of everyone as her family. It turned out that even as a child, she had a keen ear and voice for song, and always practiced alongside her mother.
Her mother always tried to give her gifts for her birthday. The two most special to her was the homemade necklace, and the old key, wrapped in a bit of cloth paper. She was told that on that paper was a location, and what was in it belonged to her. She never lost hope that she would find out what was there, despite the long-lasting relocation.
She was eleven when the genocide took place. She barely remembered when it started; noise, magic, gunfire, screams, and the smell, oh, she would never forget that awful smell of smoke and death. She fled with her parents and all of the other Magi. The hunters, though, they were relentless. Those months were long; always moving, always fearful. She couldn't even sing for fear of being discovered. But they were.
Everyone scattered during the night under the call of “Hunters!” She lost track of her parents, of everyone. Scared, and alone, she ran and flew, blind, crying, afraid. At daybreak, she tepidly moved back from where she thought she came. The hunters had moved on in pursuit, after claiming trophies. She saw the mutilated bodies of her parents, of the other magi she thought of as family. She would have mourned there until she was discovered and killed herself, if it were not for another group of Magi who took her in and helped her press on.
When the genocides were “over,” she went to the only place she knew: the words on that cloth note. In the slums of Dagos, she found it, an old building, tucked in between other ramshackle buildings. It was not meant to be a home, but a storage place. Inside, she found several instruments; a harp, a piano, a violin, and a cello. And since she had nowhere else to go, it was now her home. She practiced frequently, as the music allowed her to feel her mother, feel her emotions, mourn the past, and forget her hunger. And her songs were heard.
A group of Dagos homeless who had a community down the street welcomed her in. She would still live in her home, but now she had a new family of similarly displaced people. As her songs were heard by more people, she began to perform in local bars under the stage name "Little Crow" for a pitiful wage, but a wage nonetheless. And that is where she still stands today, improving herself, performing, and sharing what she earns with her new family. She remains hopeful that peace can be achieved, and is doing her best to help people in the only way she knows how.

[PTab=SKILLS]
this is a gift that nobody can take from you
Default Skills
Wind I: The user has the ability to create a temporary gust of wind strong enough to lead to a hefty push. On the Beaufort Scale it can be as strong as level six (reference).
Cloud Buddy I: You have the ability to create a small personal cloud buddy. At the most it can be two feet in diameter and will follow any target that you sick it on. This small cloud has the ability to house a realistic amount of water within it thus allowing it to rain, snow, or hail once full.
Flight: This ability enables a person to fly. Wither that be through the use of wings or utilizing wind magic.
Purchased abilities
Cymatics I: Is able to sing in such a calming manner where the melody has the potential to lull a living being to sleep. Though in lore such a powerful song has also been written to calm angry vengeful souls temporarily or even spirits.
Cymatics II: (Upgrade of Cymatics I) By producing certain multiple contradicting pitches at once those who hear can grow disoriented and even physically ill. The closer the hearers are the more likely they are to be induced to vomiting.
Cymatics III: (Upgrade of Cymatics II) Now you can create such a powerfully loud crash of sound that hearers will more than likely double over in extreme pain. If victims are not wearing audible protection ears will bleed and have been known to cause at least temporary deafness. Blacking out isn't uncommon either.
Ability Mastery: Cymatics This special ability is only once per character. It also requires 5 purchased magic upgrades and sufficient in character justification. With time, practice, and natural aptitude, you have reached a step above the normal in a specific area within your magic abilities. This amplifies the power of one ability of your choice. This must be magic (No weaponry or human abilities).
Cadence has been training her voice and singing since she was able to speak. She is a singer professionally, and comes from a long line of purely Air Magi that are renowned for their singing. Cadence has mastered her voice (as anyone who listens to her perform can attest), which includes lung capacity, projection, and magic. She is able to unleash such a powerful discordant noise that even ear protection is insufficient to stop it completely. It is all but certain to cause some level of temporary deafness that lingers for hours to days, and, in some cases, can be permanent. The disorientation can cause not only loss of balance and dizziness, but downright confusion, and the nausea felt is more intense.
Silence (Free ability for Independence day games event): Due to manipulating the air you are able to hush smaller actions that would normally make sound. Foot steps, a phone ringing, etc.
Ventriloquism (Upgrade of Silence): You are now able to shift the source of the sound to a location within 100 meters. In addition, you may mute louder sounds, such as shattering glass or car engines; the louder the sound, the more draining it is to maintain silence.
Wind II: (Upgrade of Wind I) Winds created can now last longer than just a mere spurt. On the Beaufort Scale a gust can be up to level eight
Lightning I: You are now able to shoot off a single bolt of lightning (a projectile) at a time. You are not yet able to make one powerful enough to overcharge a cyborg or android.
Electric Aura I (Arithelia's Blessing): You are now able to set the entirety of your body aflame in sparks, making you a much more intense hand to hand combatant. (Or in Cadence's case, much more difficult to grab and kidnap)
Magi Trait Enhancement: The time spent nurturing the magic inside of you has manifested in a new or stronger animal trait. Trait Enhancement can allow scales to be bullet proof, ability to produce venom, poisonous flowers to be grown, etc. However these traits must be a continuation of the magi theme your character already possesses.
Details: Due to her pure Air Magi bloodline, Cadence has developed fuller and stronger wings as her magic grew. This increases her capabilities while flying, as well as providing some insulation versus extreme heats and colds (like a thick, winged blanket); the feathers are thicker but not able to stop a bullet or melee attack.
NECROMANCY
Death to Dust: (Starter) You are able to speed up the decaying process of any corpse you can touch. In minutes, you can disintegrate flesh from bone, and given more time, you can even turn the bones into a fine dust, though this is a tiring process.
Sense Dead: (Starter) With some concentration, you are able to sense every corpse within 20 meters of your location. Due to the nature of Magi bones, you can differentiate between human bodies and magi ones, but no other details. You cannot sense cybernetic parts, hosted human corpses, or android wreckages.
Corpse Puppet: (Starter): Once per day, you are able to animate one corpse within a few meters of you. This corpse is simply a puppet of parts, and nothing more. It can only be given simple verbal commands (Sit, attack, carry, wait, etc). The corpse stays until dismissed, or until the necromancer moves more than 10 meters away for an hour. It takes energy to maintain the puppet, though not as much as other sustained magic. The puppet has no skills.
Song of Bones I: Your connection to dark magic allows you to manipulate the bones of corpses, similar to how a magi shapes their element. At this stage you can shape bone into basic weapons, such as swords, or twist it to other basic shapes. You must be touching the bone.
Song of Bones II: You have developed the magic within you to the point where you have limited kinetic control of corpse bones. You now may manipulate bones within ten feet of you; if you have Sense Dead, you can influence bones you cannot see. At this stage you can fling bone shards as fast as throwing knives. You cannot lift more than twenty total pounds of bone.
Friendship Mastery: Cadence's ability to make friends with practically anyone she meets exceed even the most whimsical of imaginations. Using this ability, Cadence can instantly charm any character with her cuteness, thus allowing her to build an army of fanatically loyal followers that will do anything and everything to protect her.

Purchased Artifacts
Third-Arm Sash A long strip of cloth with five braided tassels at the end. The Sash acts like a Third Arm, reading the owner's mind and following their desires. However it appears that the sash has it's own personality even though it cannot speak. Legend has it, after feeling it was unappreciated the sash strangled it's last host. It is unknown what spirit was bound to the item to give it it's powers, but no form of exorcism seems to work on it.
Earned through a Mission:
Riahzrai’s Favor: A Spirit’s favor is not one easily earned, but through perseverance and honesty one has chosen to grant you one. For one time only, in any thread, you are able to summon the spirit Riahzrai to come fight by your side or assist you in any other way. However, once the favor has been used you can never summon her again. Use this favor wisely. (Ability Currently Unused)
