Come one, come all! Test your skill and win a prize. The area adjacent to the food stands is dominated by the gaming zone, which is bustling with constant activity. Stand filled with prizes and Children and adults alike run to and fro in search of the next game or to ogle at the may prizes on display. Magi wearing traditional garb and modern clothing are in abundance here and it’s not uncommon to see groups of friends trying their luck at one of the game stands or for a father to take a to win their child a prize or for lovers to walk hand in hand through the wide pathways between the stands.
Anything from shooting galleries to improvised bowling lanes to ring toss can be found here, games of chance and skill in equal measure. A sharp ding will occasionally ring throughout the area as some big, strong fellow (or lady, ya never know) slams a wooden mallet down or a delighted swell of laughter as some poor soul is dunked into the drink.
Interspersed among the various stands are games that that cater to the individual talents granted to each subspecies of the magi race. There are several glassblowers that happily teach the basics of their craft and children are taught to etch drawings into blocks of wood. Ice sculptures can be seen being constructed, water fights are a common occurrence, and even a few water slides. An everchanging maze run by an earth magi and his extended family dominates a section of the gaming zone, providing a unique experience for each of their customers. A popular attraction for couples is a shrouded tent where a team of zero magi use their illusions to disguise participants’ significant others to test their knowledge of one another.
And never fear if these many examples don’t strike your fancy; practically any carnival game you can imagine can be found somewhere in the area!
This is post not only gives a brief description of the scenery but also acts as the starter for all general threads. With this event being a free for all social activity this is where are all posts will be made unless you begin a lengthier scene between certain characters. That way you're not going to have to dig as much until you find the post that you're wishing to respond to.

[attr="class","post"] [attr="class","text-lyrics"]I'll sing it forever “Wow!!! They do this every spring? This is so pretty!” Cadence looked down at Fiamma from her perch on top of her shoulders. Her legs dangled in front, and her hands gripped Fi's horns to keep herself sitting upright (so convenient!) She didn't even doubt that her girlfriend could carry her; she probably weighed a staggering 70 pounds soaking wet. And this way, Cadence wasn't bouncing free and getting lost in the crowd or running into strangers. Plus, it was fun! Beep beep, dragon coming through! Cadence hadn't stopped chattering about the beauty of the place since she arrived with Fiamma. It was her first time attending, and only her third time in Haven; coming from the Dagos slums, this was an impossible place. The festivals there were nice and fun, but this? This was straight out of a fantasy. It wasn't just the lights, or the decorations, or the games... it was the life! The energy! The joy! Even in her part of Dagos, where most of the city magi lived... it was nothing compared to the amount of magi here. It seemed almost unreal how many of them were not only alive, but in one place, and celebrating with each other! They wandered into the games area, and the joyful chatter seemed to be strongest here. “Oh wow, they have games, too! Fi, we should play some! Let's pick out a game you want to play first, okay? Lead the way!” She stretched her arm out and pointed as if the captain of a ship... and immediately gave into a giggle-fit. She gripped her horns once again and leaned forward to plant a small kiss on the top of her head. What could she say! The energy was infectious, and now that they were officially A Thing, that energy often manifested into small romantic gestures, followed by a wide smile every time. "My Guiding Moonlight" Miki stood in a small little place set up for the entertainers on the far end of the games. Poised like a butler, dressed up and down in a suit and tie that most probably wouldn't associate with him and hair well-groomed over his one eye. Violin tightly clenched in hand, the Zero Magi precisely strung and played along with the rest of the performers standing in the line. It was a joyous, traditional, and rejuvenating hymn renowned throughout Haven. A few of the watchers took the chance to sing and hum with each thrum of his strings, the kids often bouncing while the adults were happy to enjoy the occasion. Not to say it was his favorite thing to play, but the festival was a good opportunity to play and earn quite a bit of money. There was also a bit of reverence and prestige to go along with the entertainers that played well enough to be considered for the position. It was one of the things he did and liked to do; seeing familiar and unfamiliar faces enjoy his playing and music was pleasurable to say the least. He stood on tippy-toes, holding his bowing arm aloft over the violin and strumming quicker as the pace quickened to a thickening of notes and sounds in the air. Voices raised an octane and dancing became more frantic with a few arms raised into the air. The lights brightened, but Miki just worked harder to finish and bring the song to a strong finish. Flourishing dramatically to the end, his arm drew a resounding note before the air grew to a silence and they all bowed to their heads. The clapping lasted for a little while, filled with a few greetings before everyone was able to step off for break and a chance to enjoy the games for a little while before moving on to the next area on the schedule. That would be within the next hour or so, but until then Miki could take the time to enjoy himself. Once he was off the stand and off to himself, he happily found a more secluded spot and pulled out his stack of Uppers. "If I take one now... I'll probably crash before the next performance... but..." His brow sweated quite a bit from the withdrawal of his drugs. He couldn't take them... he needed to be able to play the next venue. The temptation though was definitely egging him on though, whispering in his ear like a phantom. He could take one maybe and just keep taking them to keep his energy from being depleted. Trouble was, he knew that was a lie.

As the festival got fully under way, Nobu found himself wading through a sea of people, all wandering in their own directions, chattering and laughing among their own groups. And every way he looked, there were games and players, young and old, successful and disappointed. It was all a wonderful thing to take in, and the water magi had enjoyed doing so ever since his first time attending the festival, years ago. The only unfortunate thing he could think of was that he was currently by himself in the crowd. For all his watching and observation of others, he himself did not have family or companions to walk with him, or compete against at one of the many stalls set up there. Perhaps he ought to fix that, and find a new friend or two with which to spend some time… Or at least pick a game to try his hand at. Maybe one of the ones built on chance, to see how his luck was today… Now on something of a mission, the lion fish magi turned to find whatever stall caught his attention first, only to find himself nearly running into a skinny, outstretched arm instead. There was a young air magi there, dark-skinned and white-feathered… sitting atop another young magi. He smiled faintly as the first kissed the top of her noble steed’s head, and shifted to walk around the pair. “Excuse me,” he said, bowing his head a little as he passed. Now, where to go…? @open Cadence Avia (sort of I guess?)

► How was it that Lelianna kept finding herself over in the game zone? Maybe it was just the feel of the place. Everyone was so happy there! Kids were running around having fun; parents were too! Though the kids usually made more of a mess of it. Lelianna had accidentally gotten dragged into a few of the water fights as she'd been moving about. She'd laughed it off in good fun though. The children reminded her a lot of the cubs or pups she was more used to in the forest. It was the adults she was a little more awkward around.
Which was probably why she was hanging out in one of the booths more heavily populated by children. Namely the wood etching stall. Though the hermit wasn't exactly following along with the normal instructions. Instead of etching something into the wood, she was shaping it. Fortunately the stall owners didn't seem to mind and the kids found it utterly fascinating. Lelianna herself found it great fun! Whatever the kids requested she did her very best to grow. Fortunately these blocks were all fairly freshly cut, so she could still detect some of the former active life within them to shape them.
It was as she was making a dragon (per one child's careful instructions on the details of said dragon) that Lelianna noticed three people she knew. Immediately she beamed from where she sat. "Nobu! Hey there!" She called out first since he looked closer. The hermit gave him a friendly wave before waving at Cadence too. "Hey Cadence! Hey Fiamma!" Boy that was a lot of people she knew. At least for the hermit. An insistent voice soon drew her back into crafting the wooden dragon though. Kids had patience but not that much patience.

Finally an escape from that stage show... Rynth needed to breath from all that attention. Maybe a game or two would be good for her. Not many zero magi knew how to obscure their own image in a way that didn't grab people's attention. However as a magi ho obsessed with sustaining a human guise or at least being unnoticed within the public of Dagos, She had a lot of thought put into her obscured image. Looking back on her life she couldn't help but wonder why she had behaved in such a fashion. It sounded a bit childish to call herself a loner, but the definition had usually fit her. Every student that ever revered her knew that she would never actively attempt to socialize among a crowd such as this. Tugging on her sense of love and obligation to them, they easily took advantage of her... While she already knew this, she had already understood why someone should take an initiative to communicate and connect with others... In a way... this is why she believed that she developed the ability known as Sympathy.... the desire to be understood. Despite her more blunt features of her personality. She only stopped for a moment just for a moment to listen to the music. It was a classic among the community, but Rynth couldn't quite recall where it was from. As the band began to attract more of a crowd, Rynth felt the need to find herself into a secluded area before the song finally reached it's climax. Such is the illusive nature of her abilities, Rynth chose to now remain invisible to not attract any unwanted attention by one that may pass by an illusive spot. Reaching into her pocket to pull out a pack of cigarettes... An actual cigar might have been nicer, but these didn't leave as much of a strong smell as Cigars. Taking a few puffs before going to discard the little stick, but her attention was captured by a young man approaching her secluded spot. With her illusion still in place she decided to pretend he wasn't here... So long as he didn't know she was here... then there wasn't a point to interact with him, however when she noticed what he happened to pull out and the fact he happened to be talking to himself... she considered making her presence known. Maybe to offer her own opinion as a teacher if he would allow it. Releasing her illusion as she spoke "Y'know, if you have to argue or reason with yourself in a substance like that... then it's probably not a good idea to take it... I don't mean to be intrusive, but I could try to help if you want it?" She asked the young looking magi. Mikaiah Lupei

| I AM NOT MERCIFUL I AM NOT KIND I AM NOT AFRAID TO MAKE YOU WISH THAT I WAS Back from the temple, Caroline wandered to the game area once more, looking to meet up with Lelianna and continue their little contest. She’d either be here or eating. She didn’t get too far, though; it seemed that her cloak and hood was a pretty memorable outfit, especially surrounded by traditional magi garb… and the kids from before were on her like bees on honey. “Hey you’re the really strong person from before!”“You didn’t even use the hammer for the bell!”“My mom doesn’t believe you broke through a wall in the maze!”Oh goodness. Her displays, in retrospect, were very memorable in the public place. She didn’t mind the attention from kids, but… it was so foreign to see magi happy to see her. Joyful eyes instead of fearful ones. Smiles instead of tears. After spilling her thoughts in the temple, it was nice to feel like she could have a second chance at life. It wasn’t long before Caroline was a game of her own. Kids dangled from her flexed arms, trying to test her strength. One, two, three… she was able to hold up multiple magi children on each arm, and even move around and spin gently to be a sort of walking ride. Parents were still mostly uneasy about a cloaked, impossibly strong stranger being near their children, and some pulled their protesting kids back and moved on. Down the grassy path, several stalls away, she saw the unmistakable visage of Lelianna, carving (or maybe shaping?) wood in a booth, also surrounded by kids. Once she looked this way, Caroline, now a humanoid jungle gym, shrugged and gave her a wave. Slowly, the kids were ushered on to go check out other games and leave the poor person alone. Step by step, kids were shed as she moved on towards Lelianna’s spot, readjusting her hood along the way. No telling who she could run into, after all. She already had a problem in the temple. Good thing she did, too; she saw a familiar magi that Lelianna seemed to know; the dragon with a red streak in her hair. She fought that one before. She was still a decent way from the both, and had a decent following of curious kids. She turned and busied herself with entertaining them, rather than continuing on to approach Lelianna. |

Fiamma hadn't really expected to be serving as transportation around the Festival as well as tour guide, but it wasn't as if the fire magi really felt like complaining at the cheery little bird who was currently sitting on her shoulders. For one, Cadence's weight was hardly an issue (roughing it in the forest alone had seen Fiamma carrying heavier bundles on the daily) and the air magi's excitement was just... too cute to interrupt. Not something that she would admit out loud. Meandering through the crowded area of the game zone had also led Fiamma to discover that, with Cadence physically on top of her, it was much easier to keep track of her chronically flighty girlfriend as they made their way through the area to get an eyeful of it all. It definitely worked well to keep them from getting separated, and so far there had been no issues with the arrangement. Cadence kept a firm grip on both of the scaled magi's horns (something that she couldn't even really feel unless Cadence decided to yank) and, though this was enough to keep her generally steady, Fiamma's own hands rested in a light grip just below the other girl's knees to make sure that there would be no wobbling. A little extra peace of mind.
This left her free to gaze around at all the vibrantly decorated stands— signs and voices alike calling out what games there were to play and prizes to claim —and Fiamma found herself growing excited to play one or two. Crowds weren't exactly within her comfort zone, but she did like games. And there were so many! It would simply be a shame to come all the way to Haven in the middle of this and not take part in a few.
❝Yeah, every year,❞ Came the reply, tinged with a soft note of awe. The fire magi had attended this festival before, both alone and years ago with her parents, but it was hard to really get used to seeing all of this each time. There were subtle differences each time and Haven was never one to disappoint when it came to celebrating. ❝You want me to pick? Ah, alright, lemme look for a second...❞
So many choices, jeez. Fiamma's bright blue eyes roved over stands for arts and crafts, ski ball, darts— heh; that one in particular brought an image of Felici's boardwalk to her mind's eye, as well as the surly blonde magi she'd met during one visit. ...Sterling, right. A moment's pause and her gaze moved on before ultimately setting on one stand a short distance ahead, prompting a crooked grin to spread across Fiamma's lips before a chuckle slipped out to match Cadence's own laughter. At least until the kiss was dropped upon her forehead and a flush raced in to overtake. Speaking of things that were hard to get used to.
❝How about this one?❞ Fiamma questioned as her feet carried them both towards the game of her choice— using miniature fishing poles tipped with magnets to yank cute rubber ducks from the water. Win a prize every time! ❝We can test to see if your fishing skills have improved at all.❞ Aaaand the cheeky grin was back, Fiamma tipping her head back as much as possible to flick a glance up to Cadence. A voice, calling out to them over the noisy crowd, interrupted the exchange and when the dragon-like magi dropped her eyes again she spotted Lelianna waving to them fro ma few stands away. Fiamma returned the gesture with a more mild smile.
❝Hey Lelianna!❞ The earth magi seemed busy at the moment, so Fiamma left things at shouting back at her for now.

Now… where was Fiamma leading her… Ah! A fishing game! Look at the cute ducks! Aw! Hey, wait, what?! She twisted her lips into an indignant pout and looked down at her grinning girlfriend. Looking her in the eye, she moved her hands from her horns and smooshed Fiamma’s cheeks together, then finished off with a raspberry. Ptthhhpppp! “Whatever! I came closer to catching anything than you did!” Her head lifted at the sound of a familiar voice. When she spotted Lelianna, she waved frantically. “Hiii Leli~!” Oh, she’d have to go give her a hug after she was done showing Fiamma that she was, in fact, an expert fisherbird! This did, of course, ignore that she’d never caught a fish in her life, and Fiamma had caught plenty when they took trips out to the Loch or one of the rivers near her home. She put her hands on Fiamma’s shoulders and pushed herself up and off her dragon mount. “Okay, you’re on, Fi!” She took a seat and a pole and prepared to get the BEST duck in the tub. The BEST.Her face was twisted into an adorable look of focus and concentration, her tongue sticking slightly out the side of her mouth. In the pole went, and now… Which duck would be the lucky one? She shifted her little magnet around and around until… aha! One latched on and she yanked it from the tub with a cheer. “Ha! See, I can fish!” She said, and stuck her tongue out at Fiamma. The magi running the booth took a look at the bottom of the duck. “Small prize!” She announced happily. She swept her hand over to a small stand of little trinkets and toys. “Pick anything from that one, dear.”Cadence eagerly hopped up and examined the prize table. Did she care she got a small prize? Nope! She caught one, and that was the most important. Even if Fiamma won a bigger one, it didn’t matter. Now… goodness, there were lots of prizes! Toys and stuffed animals and little trinkets and… and a flower crown! Perfect. She scooped it off the table with a smile and stood in front of Fi. She reached high over her head and stood on her tip-talons to actually get to the top of Fiamma’s head. Gently, she placed the crown on, nestled neatly between her two horns. Cadence fell back to flat feet and clapped her hands together with a coo. “So pretty!” And then, after Fiamma was done with her fishing and prizes and all that good stuff, Cadence would wrap her arms around Fiamma’s neck in a hug. “I’m still the best at fishing, you know. Even if I didn’t catch a fish, I did catch you!” With a giggle, she squeezed and then let go of the embrace. “Should we go see what Lelianna’s doing? ► As Lelianna glanced back towards Cadence and Fiamma for a moment, she saw that little interaction between the two. Awwww they were so cute! The hermit had never seen the two of them together before. Now that she did, she definitely felt like the two were adorable together. Though the druid was no expert on romance in any way, shape, or form, it seemed like they had a good thing going. Speaking of going: Lelianna was once more brought back to task by the child instructing her. She probably shouldn't interrupt the two lovebirds (ha) anyways. This time she honestly focused and finished off the little dragon figure. Which the child oh so happily took.
Lelianna had to smile. They reminded her so much of the bear cubs, honestly. Thank goodness she had enough energy to deal with them all today. With her kind of enthusiasm today she'd probably outlast the cubs by a good few hours honestly. So when yet another child came forward requesting a toy too (with a bit of reminding from their parents to be polite) the druid could only smile and accept it cheerfully.
It was as she was shaping this new toy- a hawk this time- that the hermit spotted Caroline. I mean, come on Caroline. You were a walking jungle gym for kids. That and dressed a little differently from the others perusing this section of the festival. It was kind of hard not to notice her. Lelianna brightened and began to wave...but then Caroline turned away. Hello, what's this? Lelianna was temporarily confused, but then she spotted the group of kids following the other woman. This time the hermit audibly cooed. It was too cute! Caroline had basically turned into a big mama bear. Lelianna wouldn't begrudge the woman for not coming over.
However...
And idea popped into her head. Caroline wasn't quite so far away, and the hermit was highly away of the presence of the wildlife around her. As a grin began to grow on the redhead's face, she focused on her powers outwards towards where her neighbor was. Whether or not Caroline would notice immediately, the living clasp Lelianna had made for her would unravel ever so slightly so part of the roots keeping it there would reach up and boop the woman on the nose. yes, Lelianna had spotted the cyborg and was fully aware she was there. If that hadn't been enough of a sign, Lelianna could always start yelling. But be that as it may, she went back to her wood shaping.

A familiar voice called out to him from across the ever-bustling crowd, and he looked away from the younger magi pair to find Lelianna apparently doing some woodwork for a small army of children. Nobu chuckled at the sight, returning her wave while the once apparently named Cadence and Fiamma bustled on by. His eyes trailed after the lovebird pair for a second or two, then fixed back on the more familiar of the three magi yelling greetings back and forth. When the path before him was a little clearer, the lion fish magi began making his way toward the fiery-haired earth magi, stopping a short distance away so as not to disturb her in her work, or the children enthralled by the display. Crossing his legs beneath him, so that he was levitating in the air, Nobu watched quietly as she finished off the wooden dragon and moved on to the next toy, resting his chin over interlaced fingers. It was an interesting thing to watch, not unlike the ice sculptors he had caught a glimpse of earlier. A bit of a shame he was unable to join them, but then he’d never been much of one for the cold, anyway. Observing would do for now. Unfortunately, something else seemed to catch Lelianna’s attention, and the little show stopped. Blinking, Nobu followed her gaze curiously, eyes landing on a cloaked figure that stood out even among all the magi here. The decidedly dour garb would have been enough, but the children hanging off of her arms were notable, too. Such a display of strength, even one masked by apparent innocence, seemed worthy of note. For now, though, he didn’t feel all that suspicious about it, and so turned his attention back to Lelianna. “Another friend of yours?” the water magi asked curiously, smiling. | I AM NOT MERCIFUL I AM NOT KIND I AM NOT AFRAID TO MAKE YOU WISH THAT I WAS Gods, she was getting noticed left and right. First the temple, and now… well, okay, the kids were fine. They seemed to be having a good time. But she certainly did not want the attention of the fire magi, as that would only go poorly; either a fight would break out, or she would spook the woman and ruin her fun. Caroline was done ruining things for magi. However, certain magi weren’t done ruining things for her. Fortunately kids were off when the boop hit, because with how lost she was in her thoughts, she didn’t noticed until it was too late. The movement from below spooked her enough, and the contact by the plant only made it worse. She kept her mouth shut, but very obviously tensed up as stiff as a board and stumbled backwards towards Lelianna’s booth. The kids, who all saw the flower doing its thing, laughed at the display. Especially when her heel slipped on a rock and she fell back onto her butt, right by Lelianna’s booth and, unknown to her, a floating fish. Her hood slipped down, revealing the back of her head to the two and her long, purple hair. As if her life depended on it, she scrambled to put her hood back on over her head. It was clear the fun was over for the kids, who waved their goodbyes to her and scrambled off to join their parents or friends and explore the game zone. Caroline didn’t even look behind her when she huffed loudly. “You’re a troublemaker, you know that?” She said, loud enough to carry behind her to Lelianna, still unaware of the extra friend she picked up. And if he spoke? She’d leap up in surprise and whirl around, barely keeping her hood over her face. Not defensively, but merely out of shock. She only expected Lelianna to be there, after all. |

► Though she was focusing on her task, Lelianna did not miss the fact that Nobu made his way over to join her. She took a moment or two to send him a warm smile. "Hey Nobu! Glad to see you at the festival! Want one?" The hermit indicated the dragon she was currently working on before putting her attention back on that. Unfortunately even if Nobu actually said yes, Lelianna had a feeling he might have to wait his turn. There were quite a few other kids waiting to get their own free toys made by the earth magi. However the little fun the hermit had with Caroline kind of did get in the way of that. Still focusing her powers out on Caroline, Lelianna nonetheless heard Nobu's question. "Yep! She's my neighbor actually; we came here together. She's really nice." Explained the druid as she made the flower boop the other woman's nose. Truth be told the redhead hadn't meant for Caroline to fall back on her butt! She was a little surprised when that happened, but couldn't suppress the brief laughter that escaped her. Hey, it was funny! Though she felt just a tad bad for causing the woman to trip backwards. That is, until the woman accused her of being a trouble maker. " Whaaaaaat? Me? Noooooo..." There was a playful faux innocence to the question that made it pretty clear Lelianna knew exactly what she'd done. A grin grew on the hermit's face as she quickly finished up the wooden hawk (she'd nearly been done by the time she'd spotted Caroline anyways). After handing it to the tiny child, she excused herself for a moment and moved towards her neighbor. Whether or not Caroline had managed to get to her feet fully or remain on the ground at this point didn't matter. Lelianna ended up once more wrapping her arms around the woman in a hug from behind (unless Caroline had managed to turn around). The hermit was in an awfully huggy mood this evening. Blame the festival energy. "I'm glad to see you again. I hope you liked the temple." Now this was said in a bit less teasing tone. Mainly because Lelianna honestly meant every word. She was happy to have her buddy for the festival back, though she could understand going to the temple alone. If Caroline hadn't gotten up yet the redhead would assist her with standing. Then she turned back to the stall and Nobu. "Oh! And this is my friend Nobu. Nobu, this is Caroline." She introduced with a smile. Then yet again she realized something. "Oh speaking of Caroline..." Lelianna dug through one of her pouches before carefully extracting something. Now the grin was back as she presented the woman with a small jade figurine that she had won while Caroline was away. "Since Skjorn's being a fuzzbutt lately and hasn't agreed to a rematch yet, I figured I could get you a mini Skjorn." She justified before handing it over. "Which means the scores are even once more."

Although a bit surprised by Lelianna’s offer, Nobu gave her an appreciative smile all the same, chuckling softly has he cast his gaze out over the gaggle of children waiting eagerly for little wooden figures of their own. “If you have time to spare once you’ve finished with your admirers here, perhaps,” he replied, watching the young one who’d claimed the dragon dash away for a moment. It would be a nice gesture, but he wouldn’t be overly disappointed if it didn’t happen. The little ones ought to come first, after all. He turned his attention back to the redheaded magi as she answered him, raising a brow. The hermit had a neighbor all the way out in the woods? How interesting… Almost as much as said neighbor’s fall was amusing. Noting the way she scrambled to replace her hood, Nobu watched the stranger’s interaction with Lelianna with quiet interest, smirking faintly at the light banter they shared. It wasn’t until he was introduced that the lion fish magi spoke again, bowing his head in greeting. “Good to meet you, Caroline,” he said, putting on a charming smile. He almost meant it, too, but the nervous way in which the woman had reacted to being exposed raised a number of questions. Unless she was cripplingly shy— in which case he had to wonder why she’d bothered coming out at all— he couldn’t quite place why she behaved so, and that bothered him. Perhaps luckily for Caroline, though, Nobu was distracted from his observation of her by a light tap on his arm. Turning, he found one of the children who had been gathered around Lelianna staring shyly up at him, mumbling something. When he leaned in to hear her better, she raised a hand to whisper in his ear, and a slow, warm smile formed on his features. Nodding, he dropped a little so that the end of his hair was just brushing the ground and, grinning, the little one took up a chunk to begin braiding while she waited. Seeing this, a couple others soon joined her while Caroline and Lelianna had their exchange. Lelianna Varna Caroline Vorlan (Excuse me while I borrow these children kay thanks)

Cadence's reaction was just about exactly what Fiamma expected and, undeterred by her girlfriend's choice to smush at her face in retaliation, she blew a brief cloud of smoke up at the feathery magi to ward off her hands. The hue of the smoke come out tickled a soft pink, betraying affection and amusement. ❝Uh-huh. You know, it didn't exactly look like a close call from where I was watching,❞ Naturally she was referring to the spectacular display that had been Cadence tumbling across Loch Perilleux like a wayward skipping stone. It was a memory that never failed to draw a smirk from Fiamma (it also made for spectacular teasing material) and she doubted that she would be forgetting about the details of that day any time soon. For many reasons.
Fiamma allowed her irate companion to slip off of her shoulders without resistance before the fire magi directed another amused chuckle Cadence's way, following her up to the booth where they got the attention of the attendant as well as a rod for each of them. Honestly, this game didn't seem to have much of a skill component. The magnets readily clicked into place on the backs of the ducks, making it easy to yank them out of the water, which left the results almost entirely up to luck. These thoughts distracted Fiamma long enough for Cadence to finish securing her duck and she smiled, softly, at the enthusiasm the other magi displayed as she went on to pick a prize. Senselessly adorable as ever— no surprise there. Giving her head a minute shake, Fiamma turned her attention to actually fishing out a catch of her own— a feat that only took her mere seconds once she settled on a random target —and turned the thing over to find... the symbol for a small prize. Ah well. Of course it would have been fun to get a rarer one and further tease Cadence about it, but a prize was a prize.
She was examining the available options when a soft whisper of pressure settled atop her head, prompting Fiamma to glance up and raise one hand to curiously feel at what had been placed there. A crown of something silky to the touch. It was when their scent tickled her nose that the scaled magi thought the words flower crown (not exactly her type of accessory, but expected from someone like Cadence) before giving her bright eyes a roll. Though the fact that Fiamma was smiling made it obvious that she didn't mind. ❝Sure you are,❞ She retorted before the last bit prompted her to huff lightly in embarrassment.
Once the hug had been ended, Fiamma was free to lift her hand and present the prize she'd picked out. There had been an extremely generous array of options— the festival stands always had such nice, obviously hand made prizes —but the fire magi's eyes had quickly been caught by one bracelet. It was simple looking, but Fiamma quite liked how the clear little beads glinted a rainbow of colors in the light like miniature prisms; there was also the central, larger bead which featured what looked like a bit of water trapped inside it. It was a sharply vivid blue and Fiamma briefly wondered if it had been dyed to look that way. Something that reminded her of the lake where they'd met.
❝Here,❞ She prompted, gaze reflexively averting as her scaly palm offered the bracelet and she tried her best not to fidget. Which was dumb, really. ❝I thought this one was nice, but it's yours to wear now anyway.❞ Cue an anxious scratch at the base of her horns which made the flower crown go slightly crooked. Still, Fiamma smiled again after another moment or two and decided to guide the both of them back from the booth so that they weren't clogging up space, since they could go visit Lelianna now anyway. ❝Um, yeah, it looked like she was making something with her magic. Hopefully she's less busy now.❞ Which she did seem to be, now that the fiery haired magi looked to be talking to two others that Fiamma didn't recognize.
