Personality overall
Passion, ferocity, heat— Fiamma's personality is like the incarnation of the element her magic wields, and she certainly does nothing to lighten the stereotype of what a "typical" fire magi is like. Not that she gives a shit about that sort of thing. Her life experience thus far (and the advice of her parents) has taught her that you have to care for yourself first and foremost, because the rest of the world certainly won't, and this has shaped her into a aggressive survivalist who knows what she needs to get by. Unfortunately, such an independent, bitter outlook on the world makes her... a bit difficult to tame. She is wild and she is free, difficult to get close to with an attitude that she really needs no one else in her life.
The hatred she nurses towards Hunters and other blatant racists is obviously justified, since it was that discrimination that directly led to the deaths or her parents and numerous other magi, and Fiamma will never disguise it. She doesn't immediately act hostile to all humans/cyborgs but she will take on an air of suspicion until it becomes clear that they're of the tolerant sort. She is, however, discriminatory in her own way. Fiamma sees magi as inherently superior to humans/cyborgs because she values power which, naturally, magi have a lot more of. Magi tend to earn a mild, default respect from her (unless they prove to be pitifully weak; it's also possible to gain her respect as a human if you are strong) and she harbors a quiet distaste for the creatures who deal with the unknown by caging it, cutting down nature just so that they can spread and hiding behind technology. Yeah, she doesn't much like the modern way of thinking. (this is why she prefers to stay alone in the North where things are simpler)
Despite all of these... more negative aspects to her personality, Fiamma's difficulty with forming relationships can also be attributed to her lack of experience with them. She has known only the companionship of her parents for almost all her life, losing any magi friends she made during the mass outbreak from the camps, so she sometimes masks her lack of confidence with an intimidating, growly exterior. It's very possible to become her friend with a bit of patience (and ferocity to match her own) and if you manage to accomplish that her innate fire becomes devotion. She is loyal, dependable, and will use all her power to defend the ones she cares about— so it really can be beneficial to have such a wild force by your side.

[PTab=APPEARANCE]
take this side show and all its freaks
appearance
Hair: The color of it is black, like raven feathers, with a bluish sheen that makes its general hue appear to be a very dark navy— plus a streak of crimson that colors one patch of her bangs. Her hair grows slowly so it requires a very rare trim that she often does by herself and without much care for style, resulting in choppy edges that fall just to the nape of her neck. She hates knots, so she'll brush it occasionally, but the only styling done to it is by wind and washing, leaving it slightly wavy with a medium thickness.
Eyes: A startling vivid blue flecked with lighter highlights that calls to mind ancient glaciers and arctic seas. This color actually runs in the family (rather than being a magi mark) but her pupils? That's another story. They're narrow slits, like a cat or a serpent.
Body Type: She is 5'8" and around 145 lbs. This puts her at above average height for a girl but that's another thing that can be attributed to family traits. At a glance, you can tell that she's physically fit with clear muscle definition on her arms, legs, and stomach and body proportions that could be called "average". Her limbs are neither short nor long compared to her torso. Her skin tone is naturally a bit fair but, being the outdoorsy type, she keeps up a healthy tan with flesh that's only marred by a few scars she's collected.
Magi Marks: Fiamma's inhuman characteristics all share a very reptilian theme, one could even call them dragon-like. In addition to her slit pupils she has patches of scales (colored similarly to her hair) that integrate with the skin below her eyes and along her cheekbones. These scales can also be found on the backs of her hands and feet with another trail of them down her spine. Otherwise, her ears are slightly pointed, she has distinct talons in place of nails, and her teeth are sharper than what could be called normal with a serated edge to the incisors. Lastly there are the horns— black enough to almost disguise against her hair and curling smoothly back from her temples.
Fashion
The easiest way to describe Fiamma's fashion sense is "function before fancy". She always has the utility and durability of clothing in mind before choosing to actually put it on her body and, because she often goes for long lasting articles, her wardrobe is very minimal. This is actually one of the few things she prefers to depend on humans for (otherwise she can craft almost anything she needs), since synthetic mixes really do make the strongest materials. Mobility is always a must for her, as well as comfort, which means she likes material that fits her well (avoiding snags) but will never be tight enough to be restricting. T-shirts, durable pants, sneakers or boots, and weather protective jackets are really all she needs. Natural colors are also preferred.

biography
Fiamma's birthplace, just like any magi currently younger than 40, was a relocation camp that her parents and numerous other magi had been herded into with the intent of making the human population feel safer. She was born in the year 2572 to Nina and Joah Maritz, a pair of fire magi whose union furthered an already long line of fire wielders. Her parents were married only a few months before the law to segregate her kind was passed and so (even though they knew they wanted a child from the beginning) they never had a chance to start trying for pregnancy before being tossed into the camp. Because of this terrible turn of events their dream of a family was... pushed onto the back burner. This was no place to raise a child— with its cruelty and restrictions and utter absence of hope —so they decided that their shared desire to have one would just have to wait. Maybe one day things would get better.
Nearly twenty years of entrapment went by until a small glimmer of hope lit the darkness Nina and Joah found themselves in. An older earth magi named Diana dwelt in the camp with the pair, a devout follower of Irilys, God of Knowledge, and her devotion had earned her powers as a Soothsayer. Fiamma's parents were on friendly terms with many of the magi they lived beside and this woman was no different, so she decided to share with them a prophecy: that one day they would all go free. She very rarely divulged her visions to others (many of them either bleak or useless) but she assured the couple and the others who had been there to listen that, eventually, magi would no longer be forced to live within cages. It might not happen soon, but it would happen. This small offering of optimism was enough to convince Nina and Joah that they could risk bringing a child into the world (knowing that there would at least be an opportunity for a better life) and it was not even half a year later that Fiamma was conceived.
She was 13 when the mass outbreak occurred. The camp her family had been housed in was one of the better ones, holding less horrors than some others, so she grew up relatively sheltered from the worst of it and was happy enough with the company of her parents and other magi children. That didn't stop them from running like hell when the gates came down, though, not stopping until it all was left far behind and the forests of the North surrounded them. Fiamma's parents were both older magi— having lived more than a century each —so their strength and knowledge was enough to build the family a home and give them ample foothold to survive, isolated from all others. Nina and Joah taught their daughter all they could about how to survive, to live on the offerings of the land and to always thank the Gods for the world they'd been allowed to be born into. They also taught her about humans, their fear and their weakness, and that mortals were the ones to blame for what had been done to magi. Not the Gods. The couple had been keeping an ear out for news of what was happening back in civilization and it was hearing of the horrific genocide of their people that kept the family in isolation for two years, before they dared venture back.
Joah decided to go alone to Dagos— the more magi tolerant city —to gather information on the state of things and buy some items that the family needed but could not make on their own. He promised to return soon... but never did. One month passed, then two. Fiamma's father was still gone. When she could no longer take the waiting Nina decided that she and her daughter would go and try to find him, bring him home, so they set off on his trail. Any information that the two found in Dagos only led to dead ends and eventually they moved on toward Felici with the hope that somewhere within the sprawling capital there would be answers to find. They couldn't lose hope. So they searched and searched and continued to search for their missing family member but, at the end of it all, the only thing they found was more tragedy.
Going to Felici had been a bad move, even more so to walk the streets and call attention to themselves as they asked around about Joah, but Nina had always thought herself capable of protecting her daughter. They were staying in a small hotel on the outskirts of the city when the band of Hunters came knocking at their door and Fiamma's mother dragged her off into the night to flee the oncoming death. She remembers few details of that night— only torch light and calling, goading voices closing in on them, her mother's soft urging —but she knows with the clarity of a brand on her mind that it was the night Hunters killed her mother. Nina fought valiantly for her daughter, killing the majority of the group with protective ferocity, and she was successful in destroying their forces enough that they could only retreat to lick their wounds when she finally fell.
Fiamma ran as she was told, all the way back to her family's house in the North, where the now 16 year old magi could use the skills her parents had imparted onto her to survive.

[PTab=SKILLS]
singing, i am your worst i am your worst nightmare
Default Skills
Flame I: Just as most Magi Magic, the flames must already exist. So be prepared to carry around matches and lighters with you. You are able to grow fire from your immediate person to double your arms length. Note: Fiamma carries around a piece of flint that, when struck with her claws, is her go to source of flame.
Heat: The ability to cause at least one appendage of your body to warm up at a time (arm, leg, etc). Your skin can get to the point of burning someone upon contact if you wish or remain at a comforting warmth. Judging your own character's level of experience and practice, they may be able to heat up their entire body at once. Note: due to avid practice and needing to keep herself warm out in the North alone, she is able to heat her whole body.
Unarmed Combat I: You know the basics and can hold your own in a street fight. The type of martial art or fighting style is up to you. We trust you to be realistic for what you can accomplish and not accomplish at being a general level one in unarmed combat. Note: she got claws.
Purchased abilities
- Flame II: (Upgrade of Flame I) Can control a higher amount of flames that can reach up to 12 feet away from its origin.
- Flame III: (Upgrade of Flame II) Your flames can grow or be shot out to a distance that varies from individual to individual. At the extreme most one mile away. With Master level monks these fiery projectiles have been known to border the speeds of bullets.
- Flame Propulsion: Need an extra boost of speed? You are now capable of using your hands, feet, or all four as thrusters to shoot yourself forward at a much faster rate. It might take some time for the noobs to be able to keep up coordination with the speeds you're going at.
- Fiery Aura: With enough concentration and practice you will see a layer of magical flames dancing over (up to) the entirety of your body, making each punch or kick that much more spicy. This will cause issues to anyone sparring with you since the flames can in fact exist apart from your touch and may spread if they come into contact with something flammable.
- Grenade: As you may have guessed those fiery projectiles aren't just burning someone now if they land. Upon making first contact with whatever it does it will explode with the approximate same strength as a military grenade.
Mood Rings: Depending on what emotions the Magi is feeling their produced flames will reflect them through color. All hues from vibrant pink to sickly green have been recorded to date. Though performers back in the day have been admired for their art it can also betray the user's emotions and feelings at inopportune times.
Magi Trait Enchancemnt: Following along with her rather dragon-like traits, Fiamma has found herself developing the ability to exhale a flammable gas in the form of smoke as well as create a spark by clicking her back molars together. These combine to form the ability to breathe short burst of flame.
Ash: You can call ash and make it dance like any flame. The more powerful your Flame ability, the more ash you can summon and control (Following the same restrictions as your Flame ability). This can be used to create screens, flung at foes, or for other creative uses.
- Smoke: You are capable of producing smoke at a quick rate. Because this is a continuous process the user will be winded afterwards. Note: Just as a fire needs oxygen to live, so do you. A wise magi would be wary to not knock themselves out.
Opgraven's Blessing: This character has been blessed by Nevyne and Opgraven, and may purchase abilities from the Necromancer magic list.
Death to Dust: (Starter) You are able to speed up the decaying process of any corpse you can touch. In minutes, you can disintegrate flesh from bone, and given more time, you can even turn the bones into a fine dust, though this is a tiring process.
Sense Dead: (Starter) With some concentration, you are able to sense every corpse within 20 meters of your location. Due to the nature of Magi bones, you can differentiate between human bodies and magi ones, but no other details. You cannot sense cybernetic parts, hosted human corpses, or android wreckages.
Corpse Puppet: (Starter) Once per day, you are able to animate one corpse within a few meters of you. This corpse is simply a puppet of parts, and nothing more. It can only be given simple verbal commands (Sit, attack, carry, wait, etc). The corpse stays until dismissed, or until the necromancer moves more than 10 meters away for an hour. It takes energy to maintain the puppet, though not as much as other sustained magic. The puppet has no skills.
Purchased weaponry levels
- Unarmed Combat II: You have improved in this skill and can accomplish more impressive feats in the fighting technique you've chosen for your character. You are now also able to defend yourself better against melee weapon-ed attacks.
Archery I:Can accomplish fundamental and basic feats with weapons such as a Recursive Bow, Compound Bow, Longbow, Crossbow, etc. Specialized arrows now unlocked: Downer: Arrow can inject target with a Downer once purchased.
