"You wanna know what I think your problem is, Maddie?" Bailey turned towards Matías on her stool. Because of the noise in the rowdy, hole-in-the-wall bar already, she was halfway shouting it. At least she wasn't so deep in her drinks that she started slurring badly. It was still well on it's way though, and her cheeks sported a pretty pink along with her lopsided grin.
"You?" Matías responded quick enough, chuckling. Both of them sat up to the bar counter, considering most of the tables were taken by the other inebriated customers.
"Ha. Funny." Snorting, she pushed her hat up a little before pointing at her partner with glass still in hand. "Nah, your problem is you're too big for your britches. I mean, what's your gimmick? Death?" Bailey laughed and emptied the rest of her whiskey. That would be her...fourth? Not that she was keeping track. "Now I ain't trying to piss off the real death or deny your knitting skills, Granny, but really? I reckon the only thing more 'edge worthy' than that is actually being dead!" Letting off a laugh, Bailey waved down the bartender to get another round. meanwhile Matías nearly spat out his drink but just barely caught himself.
"You're arguing about what I wear? You're running around looking like some wannabe cowboy cosplayer!"
"An' you look like something a typical 8th grade schoolboy cooked up. Least mine's got a timeless taste to it. Yours just looks like an offshoot to let out excess angst. Gods know you've got enough of that." While they were talking, Bailey was slid another bottle. She picked it up and nodded with a smile to the bartender before focusing back on Matías. Who was laughing loudly and shaking his head.
"Timeless my ass, Bessie. You wouldn't know taste if it bit you." Bailey just rolled her eyes, but she was still grinning.
"Least I use more than black n' white in my wardrobe." Both of them laughed for a bit while Bailey started on her new bottle. They sat in silence (well relative silence: this was a bar after all) before Bailey spoke up again. "So where's this friend of yours we're meeting?" She asked. Her partner had mentioned inviting some "Daniel something" to go out with them. So far she'd seen neither hide nor head of the guy. "You sure you ain't fibbing? If you only looking for company, all ya'll had to do was ask." Bailey said with an insincere sympathetic pat to Matías' shoulder while she was wearing a cheeky smile. He saw it for what it was and rolled his eyes, shrugging the hand off.
"You drive me crazy enough, why would I purposefully torture myself?" They both knew it was only a joke. "He'll be around sometime soon I figure. Far as I'm concerned he can take however long he wants. I'll just put all my drinks on his tab until then." And with that, Matías threw back the last of his own drink and got another.

“ The Righteous Side of Hell. Dagos once again; the city of lights and sins seemed like a hungry beast always on the prowl for the smell of blood. The slums were always a place that could be described as painted in red and there as always a greedy executive or mob boss looking to get ahead by making sure someone else lost theirs. It kept Daniel’s pockets nice and full of credits. His most recent job—slaughter a burgeoning drug dealer and his gang for getting to big for their britches on a crime lord’s turf—had gone well enough and netted him quite the sum. The thought to leave for Felici had crossed his mind, but he decided against it after receiving a call from an old friend.
It’d been a while since he’d last seen MatÍas, so the invitation to go out drinking with a friend of his was enough temptation to keep him in Dagos for a night. The old wolf waited for the rest of his payment to be transferred into the encrypted account he used and set off to the dingy little bar MatÍas told him about. As usual, the famed Red Light District was practically bouncing with the amount of booze and music flowing around. He pushed his way through the crowds and more than a few bar fights before finally arriving at the bar. Just like what he expected from the outside, the inside of the place was filled with rough faces and rowdy screams. The smell of alcohol was so pervasive that it completely overwhelmed almost every other scent. Bereft of the tool he relied on most often, Daniel took to scanning the crowd for his old friend. He spotted the mercenary leaning over the bar with a woman he guessed was the “friend” he mentioned.
Daniel grinned as he picked his path through the partying groups. He wandered up behind MatÍas and gave the man a hearty smack on the back. “Hey, “Edge Lord”, how ya been!? Who the hell said ya could start without me, huh?” The guy was probably already well into his cups. The old Hunter flagged down the bartender and ordered three of whatever his friend was having; lot of catching up to do.

Matías and Bailey had started on their next bottle by the time Daniel got to the bar. Once Daniel smacked him, Matías whipped his head around. At first he was pissed someone had been foolish enough to hit him. But the moment he spotted who it was, the scowl morphed into a wolfish grin. "Can't help it if you're getting fat and lazy in your old age." He quipped back, smacking him too. "But I've been doing just fine. I'm not dead yet, right?" Snickering, he glanced over at Bailey.
As for her, she was busy taking a swig from her own drink before she paid Matías any attention. "Bailey, this is my friend. Dan, this is the pain in my ass I was talking about." The comment made Bailey roll her eyes dramatically, though she was grinning rather cheekily.
"I'm only returning the favor, idjit." Though now that she spotted Daniel, her gaze stayed and lit up with interest. Not to mention her grin slid into a sly smirk as she looked him over. "Well, howdy." She drawled with a slightly husky tone from the alcohol she'd consumed, and from the once-over she'd given him.
"Oh no, don't you dare start, McClain." Matías said the moment he caught sight of her expression. He'd been around Bailey long enough to know what that expression meant. Still holding his drink in his hand, Matías pointed his finger at Daniel. "Don't fall for her tricks. I don't want her adding another notch to her belt for this." He ordered. On the other side of him, Bailey snorted.
"I reckon your friend's got enough brain between his ears he don't need you to make choices for him."
"Fuck off McClain." Was all Matías responded with, earning another dramatic eye-roll and a snort. Matías was looking at Daniel though. They both were, just one in a bit less innocent of a way. "Now start talking, you old dog. What new mess have you been getting yourself into since we last talked?"

“ The Righteous Side of Hell. “Hey, now who said that I’m gettin’ fat, huh? I still chase after a trail or two when I can.” Daniel responded to the wolfish grin with one of his own. “Besides, least I don’t rip off somebody’s style. Old man Taters is gonna flip his lid when he figures out you stole ‘is good looks.” He followed MatÍas’s finger to the woman sitting on the adjacent bench. His eye arched appreciatively at the show on display and the husky tone and look he was receiving.
“Huh, so this is the gal you’re always on about? Nice ta meet ya, Bailey. Name’s Daniel.” He gave a sloppy two-finger salute just before returning his attention to his on and off partner in crime, barking out a short “heh” in response to the warning.
“You know me better than that. It takes more than a pair of doughy eyes and an accent ta get me goin’.” Daniel winked a secret message to the pair; partly a reaffirmation, partly a challenge. The bartender returned with bottle of cheap whiskey and a glass that Daniel immediately filled and slammed back. Then, he sat down on a free stool next to Bailey as he poured another draft. It tasted just about like he suspected bad gasoline to taste like, but it was strong enough for him and that was all that mattered; it’d get him drunk at the least.
“Hadn’t been up ta much. Trackin’ down kids, takin’ care of Ri, gunnin’ down some drug runners; ya know, easy shit; nothin’ interestin’ like the trouble I used to get into.” Unless, of course, you counted hunting down a twisted version of yourself in a dream and making deals with dubious gods outside the realms of what could be considered interesting. He drained his second glass and went to pour himself a third before reaching into his breast pocket for his smokes.
“So what’d’about you, huh. You and Bailey here doin’ anythin’ worth mentionin’?” He lit the cigarette and took a nice long puff. The smoke was expelled with a contented sigh a moment later.

"I never stole, I just updated is all." Matías answered with a shake of his head. On the other end Bailey laughed.
"'Updated' my ass, Maddie. Never figured ya for a plagiarist." Snickering, Bailey found immense amusement out of the way Matías pinched the bridge of his nose. Clearly he was starting to realize that maybe bringing the both of his friends out to drink together might not have been the best idea. He took a none-too-subtle long swig out from his drink and growled.
"Fuck the both of you."
Since he was now glowering, Bailey easily switched her attention to the newcomer. Instead of salute back, she merely raised her glass towards him before taking another drink. "Pleasure ta meet you too, Daniel. Always glad to meet someone else that can drive Maddie here up a wall just as well as I can." Winking towards him, she aimed the wicked grin she wore back at Matías. Who scowled and slapped her on the shoulder.
"Fuck the both of you." He repeated, but now he was sporting more of a rueful grin as he finished off yet another drink and asked for a new one. Meanwhile Bailey's grin from before had settled into to a highly amused smirk. When Daniel ended up taking the seat next to her, she threw a side glance at him with a half-lidded gaze and one raised eyebrow.
"I always did love me a challenge." She purred out before focusing back on her drink and nearly draining it. On the other side of her Matías was staring at Daniel with a 'you've-done-did-it-now' look and shook his head before wordlessly motioning him to start talking before the two starting getting into anything more. Despite the back that both had been hitting the drink heavy by this point, Matías and Bailey listened fairly well. Matías of course cracked up at one point.
"Tracking down kids? Well Bailey, looks like you might be a little too old. Never figured you for that type, Dan." Matías was laughing now and Bailey joined in.
"Hey, give me a chance an' I just might change his mind." She contested with another lopsided grin.
"Hell no. You two ain't running off to fuck each other and leave me hanging like this, ya hear? Otherwise I'm gonna fucking follow ya and make it awkward as shit. Maybe give you some pointers."
"The only thing you can point out is the right technique to shovin' a stick up your ass."
"Fuck you, McClain." Matías growled back, grinning at her though. But after another drink he finally answered Daniel. "Yeah, we've been doin' a few jobs here and there. Had to hunt down a few targets as the most recent assignment. They almost got away too because somebody wasn't paying any attention." At that Bailey whipped her head over to Matías and narrowed her eyes.
"You were the one who almost let 'em slip away, if I recall correctly Maddie. They were coming 'round your way, not mine." Instead of argue the point though, Matías waved her accusation off dismissively and took another swig. Bailey turned back to Daniel and eyed him again. "So how'd you get stuck with this sorry washed up soul?" She asked, pointing her thumb back at Matías with a free hand.

“ The Righteous Side of Hell. Daniel didn’t bother with any sort of an attempt at keeping the grin from his face. He wasn’t normally the playful type, but something about Matias made him unable to resist the urge, especially when he insisted on making rib-tickling faces. He knocked back another drink and snuck a sidelong glance at Bailey when she said something about liking a challenge; a woman after his own heart, and probably more if Matías was to be believed. He caught the wink at the end of it all and even managed to look away from the woman long enough to catch Matias’s look, responding by filling his own glass again and raising it to the man.
The old wolf was about to take a drink when he heard the laughter and the joke that followed. Daniel directed a dangerous glare at his old friend, which fled his face a moment later when Bailey added her two cents to the conversation. “Hell, I might have ta take you up on that bet just ta show ya how wrong ya are. Maybe you’ll actually learn somethin’ watchin’ a real man at work.” He shook his head as the liquor finally started catching up with him. The buzz in his head was doing wonders for banishing any inhibitions he might have had.
The dynamic duo next to him started talking again. The snatches of conversation between the two told him enough to follow along. He looked away long enough to scan the other patrons before his eyes settled upon a blonde-hair beauty dressed in a low-cut shirt and a cut of jeans. She caught his gaze as well and smiled, raising the bottled beer in her hand along with a coy grin. Daniel smiled back and raised his glass in return before returning his attention to Bailey.
“Well, ain’t that a tale, huh buddy?” He took a more conservative sip of his drink before continuing. “I think it was over in some shithole in Suraja. Little shanty town with barely anythin’ worth stayin’ there for. See, this little town was under the thumb of some asshole that liked ta do what he liked with the folks livin’ there. Take their cash, their stuff, and sometimes the pretty ones for his own sick little games.”
He waved his drink at Matías. “Me an’ that guy right there got slated for the same job when the folks livin’ in that town got enough money together ta hire some mercs ta take the bastard and his cronies out. Problem is that the guy caught wind of it and had his boys waitin’ for us. Wanted ta make a big show outta killin’ us; told us ta get out of town or get gunned down.” He drained his drink and began pouring himself another as he talked. “So, I say, ‘Might wanna take your own advice and fuck off’ ta which he says, ‘Those your last words?’”
Daniel paused to take yet another drink and smile as the buzz in his head started draining down into the rest of him.
“So I spin out my other revolver and BAM! nail ‘im right between the eyes! He goes down and I say, ‘Yours, not mine.’” He punctuated his sound effect by slamming his glass down on the bar, spilling some of his whiskey over his fingers.
“Few of the goons decided that right then was a good time ta try their luck at takin’ over, but that mighta meant gettin’ rid of me and the Edgelord over there. Ya can guess how that turned out.”

At Daniel's response, Matías rolled his eyes while Bailey laughed. "You're more dog than man, you old wolf." Matías replied with a snort.
"Aww, Maddie; it sounds like yer scared've being shown up." Bailey teased with a wolfish grin. "I for one would love to see ya best him." She said, glancing over at Daniel with a heated gaze that definitely conveyed her thoughts on the matter. "Edgey over there's overdue for a blow to that ego've his."
"And you aren't?" Matías shot back. Bailey only shrugged and took another drink from her glass.
"Nah, see I'm just confident. You, on the other hand, have a head so full've hot air ya might as well be a balloon." Bailey shot back just as casually. Matías grumbled and shot her a glare, mumbling under his breath for a bit before the two started their banter. Only Bailey noticed Daniel's eyes stray away to a nearby blonde. She approved of the man's taste before asking her question.
Matías immediately lit up when Daniel started telling the tale of how the two met. "Oh it was definitely Suraja." He piped in with a loud snort. "The place was a pile of shit in the middle of a trash dump. And that fucker wasn't helpin' to improve it much." he could remember the story well on his own, but he let Daniel tell the most of it. "Yeah, he had a few cronies waiting for us when we ended up getting there. I swear, it was straight outta some action flick; whole villainous monologue and all." Waving his bottle through the air, Matías started talking in a dramatically low voice. "'Oh I see you fools've walked right into my trap. All according to my devious plan.'" Shaking his head, Matías downed the rest of his drink before nodding to Daniel with a toothy grin and a deep chuckle. "My only regret was that this asshole here managed to shut 'em up before I did. Course he had to pull out just as cheesy of a line before he took him out." He rolled his eyes again, and Bailey laughed. "Then we got to clear out most of the small fry, thinking they could be the big boss. Bunch of idiots." After all was said and done, Bailey shook her head.
"Sounds nearly identical to how we met, Maddie."
"Only you were nearly even more annoying than he was." Matías remarked dryly.
"Well you were no spring daisy yourself, partner." Bailey turned towards Daniel with a grin on her face. "We both got hired to take out this idjit who was pulling in a shipment've drugs. The whole time, this fashion disaster was runnin' his mouth." Matías scowled at her, but it wasn't an angry glare.
"As if you weren't swearing worse than any sailor." Bailey waved him off and kept going.
"So we got in there an' managed to sneak inside without any of the folks workin' there noticing. Turned it into a game to see what kinda shots we could get off. Bounce a shot off of this; catch 'em through some cover; whatever we could think've. For the record I had the best score."
"In your fuckin' dreams McClain!"
"Don't need to dream it; I did it."

“ The Righteous Side of Hell. Daniel arched an eyebrow at Bailey. She certainly didn’t have any issues with getting what she wanted across with just a look. The old wolf could practically feel the heat radiating from those eyes. “Heh, I may or may not wanna show that bozo up.” He gave the woman a lopsided grin, then took yet another drink. His eyes drifted back to the blonde after his story was finished just in time to catch her looking at him again with that same coy little grin on her face. She idly twirled a lock of hair around one of her fingers and bouncing one of the loose-fitting heels back and forth in a way that made him wonder how Bailey would feel about some company in bed.
He turned back to the conversation when he heard MatÍas say something about cheese one-liners. “Hey, least I could actually follow up with that shot. ‘Sides, I couldn’t resist after gettin’ set up for it.” Daniel swirled the contents of the bottle he was trying to find the bottom to and found that he was starting to get close. He poured the last of the liquor into his glass and ordered another bottle as he listened to the pair’s first meeting.
His new bottle had just arrived when he felt a presence looming from behind him. “Hey asshole! You eyeballin’ my girl!?” Daniel turned his head to look over his shoulder. The kid standing behind him couldn’t have been very deep into his early twenties. Green eyes stared at him angrily from underneath a head of black hair trapped in a slick back style. His body language was aggressive; arms held open to the side, fists clenched, shoulders squared. The kid was already looking for a fight because he thought the elder man was ogling “his girl”.
Daniel’s gaze shifted back to the blonde, whose mischievous grin had taken on an altogether different meaning. He gave an exasperated sigh; so, that’s how it was, huh?
“Listen, kid, I’m not lookin’ for any trouble,” he said calmly. “I’m just here ta enjoy a few drinks, an’ I don’t really feel like hurtin’ ya, so…” He left the last part of his warning unspoken as he pulled the glass to his lips only to have it slapped from his hand.
“How about you get the fuck outta my bar, old man?” Daniel’s eye twitched of its own accord. Somehow, he’d thought he was going to get through the night without having to hurt someone. He sighed again as he grabbed the new bottle and opened it, flinging the lid in some random direction. The bottom of the bottle lifted into the air and Daniel took several long gulps of burning liquid. His new friend was drunk after all; it wouldn’t be fair if he wasn’t as well.
He slammed the bottle down and expelled the excess alcohol from his lungs in a sing breath. “Hey, buddy. Remember that little dive bar we went to after that mission we was talkin’ about? Ya know, that one?” It would’ve been hard to let that one slide from memory if only because the night had devolved into a massive brawl. Good times.
Daniel reversed his grip on the bottle and whipped it through the air. It met the bonehead’s skull with a resounding Crack! and shattered, sending shards of glass and a welter of brownish liquid flying. The kid went down almost immediately—unconscious but still breathing—and the screech of chairs scooting back invaded the sudden silence as a group of what was likely the kid’s friends stood from their seats. For his part, Daniel simply discarded the remains of his bottle as the bartender grabbed the most expensive vintages and cloistered them away.
“So… who’s first, kids?” Daniel received his answer in the form of a lanky little shit charging him. He easily avoided the poorly aimed punch are retaliated with a right cross to the jaw. Then, the fighting began in earnest as the various factions decided to have fun of an entirely different variety.

"Even I'll admit he set that shit up on a silver platter for you. Felt like I was in a damn movie; one of those testosterone drenched ones with minimal plot. All we were missing was a bunch of random girls." Matías snorted at the end and took another drink before he and Bailey started going at it with banter. neither of them spotted the foolish youngling approaching Daniel until the little squirt started barking. Only then did two pairs of brown eyes turn to start back at the interruption. Matías's face contorted into a scowl as he eyed the rather unimpressive boy up and down. Bailey on the other had watched with vague intrigue as to what the idiot was up to. Daniel was handling it pretty damn well initially.
The moment the blonde slapped Danial's drink away was when the two mercenaries stilled.
While Daniel was taking his time emptying the bottle, both Bailey and Matías kept their eyes trained on the blonde. Matías had even lowered his glass from his lips, the scowl replaced with unnerving blankness. bailey's held a bit more emotion to it with her eyes narrowing a fraction of an inch. Daniel might not have been as close to Bailey or Matías as they both were to each other, but no one would get away with a stunt like that to one of their mutual friends.
It was only when Daniel directed words at Matías that one of them moved. Matías glanced at Daniel and a faint smirk cracked his once still expression. "Yeah, I remember." And if he remembered that then he had a pretty good feeling of what was about to go down.
As Daniel downed the blonde boy and silence abruptly reigned in the bar, Matías knocked back the last of his drink before chucking the glass and nailing one member of the group who'd stood at the blonde's fall. If they were going to play, then Matías was striking first. After that the bar indeed erupted into one big giant mess of yelling and flying fists.
Who didn't love a good bar brawl, right?
Bailey joining in pretty soon after Matías had thrown his glass. Both kept close to each other and to Daniel, helping each other out when they needed it. "Boy when you're fixin' to start something, you know how to do it!" Bailey called out to Daniel with a laugh. She currently had dodged away from one man's fist and used his momentum to flip him onto a table. Meanwhile Matías got in a few hits to one patron trying to sneak up on her.
"Here I thought we were gonna have a nice, relaxing reunion!"
"Aww, but what fun's that Maddie?"

“ The Righteous Side of Hell. “What can I say, I like ta be thorough!” Daniel shouted. If the bar hadn’t been loud before it most definitely was now that a full-fledged fight had broken out. He grabbed the scrawny kid he’d just punched by a fistful of his hair and slammed his face into the bar once before tossing him into a pair of idiots that tried to blitz him from behind. He put his back to Bailey and MatÍas, trusting the two of them to watch his back as he faced down an imposing man.
“Alright come on, big man!” he goaded. “Let’s see what ya’ve got!” The lumbering brute took a step forward and swung a meaty fist for Daniel’s face. The old wolf ducked below the punch and gave the man an uppercut in the groin, then a right cross to the temple when he doubled over. He started laughing when yet another contender appeared out of the crowd and managed to finally land a punch, a favor that Daniel returned with interest. The alcohol buzzing around in his head was quite obviously brining out his wilder side; it was that primal part of his personality that delighted in a good fight and the rush of pure adrenaline he felt pulsing through his veins.
The wolf had come out to play tonight.
“Ha, this is my kinda night!” He punched the next contender in the teeth but this one seemed to be able to take a punch better than the last few. It was a good thing because the fight would be more fun that way. His stance lowered and waved his fingers for his dance partner to come at him. He obliged and charged him a second later with a punch that might’ve had some skill behind it. Daniel couldn’t quite deflect the blow to his cheek, but it didn’t matter as much to him with the alcohol numbing his face. What did matter was the follow through that caught him full on the temple.
Daniel stumbled back a step before recovering enough turn his body sideways, lessening the areas open to attack. His fist rose in a defensive manner and he glared death at his opponent with a smirk on his face.
He needed to remember to thank Oliver for those tips on fighting some time.

Thorough. Yeah that was a way of putting it. Not that either of the mercenaries were complaining. They'd started (and ended) their fair share of bar fights together enough to appreciate one when it popped up. Really, it was a great form of exercise. not to mention practice! Like for instance: trust exercises. The trio kept their backs to each other and basically made a defensive triangle to cover their blindspots. See, if they didn't trust each other that wouldn't happen! So the next thing they had to do was simply maintain that trust.
By beating up anyone dumb enough to target them of course.
While Daniel appeared to be doing fairly well on his own, Bailey and Matías were simply wrecking havok together and throwing jeers and taunts not only at their opponents, but at each other. "Bet'cha I can take down more'n you!" Bailey called out to her partner as she captured a man's swing and swiveled him around to pin the limb behind his back painfully.
"Ha! I think you're forgetting who it was that taught you how to fight, McClain!" Matías roared back with a devilish grin, ducking under one man's swing and using that momentum to bodily toss him off elsewhere. The resounding crash was music to his ears.
"Might've taught it, but I perfected it!"
"The only thing you've perfected is your ability to drive me up the fucking wall!" Bailey laughed heartily at that, slamming the head of the man she had pinned down onto a table to knock him out.
"Any victory's a victory!" She shouted back cheerfully. Matías laughed back heartily for once, the wild aura to the whole bar getting to him and putting him in a curiously good and wild mood.
"Guess with your track record, you've gotta take what you can get!" He only heard Bailey's laughter in response before spotting Daniel stumble beside him. His gaze flicked to a nearby chair, and without much hesitation he hefted the flimsy thing up and swung it. "Head's up!" Was all the warning Daniel got as Matías aimed the attack at the retired hunter's opponent.

“ The Righteous Side of Hell. Heads up! Daniel didn’t need any further warning to let the tension flee his legs and allow himself to drop to the floor as a chair whistle over his head. He watched the chair splinter into pieces when it crashed against his opponent’s unprotected chest. Daniel gave the man zero time to recover and kicked his feet out from underneath him while he was still trying to catch his breath, then followed with another kick to the face. He rose to his feet again, head on a swivel for more targets. There weren’t many to be had as the patrons of the bar were all locked in their own personal struggles; the place was a madhouse.
“I’m thinkin’ we get outta here while the goin’ is good!” he advised. Daniel wove a path through the battling crowd and shoved away any punch-drunk idiot that made the mistake of getting his way. He would occasionally cast a glance over his shoulder to ensure that his partners were following close behind. It took some doing, but he finally managed to batter, beat, and otherwise fight his way to the door leading outside. He stumbled through the portal into the crowded streets with a laugh shaking his chest.
“Well, that was a hell of a time! Just like old times, right buddy?” He laughed again wrapping one arm around MatÍas’s neck while the other slipped around Bailey’s waist when either of them came close enough. The sounds of the barfight still taking place inside were nearly drowned out by the cacophony of rowdy partygoers that filled the streets. It also did a remarkable job of hiding the light squeeze he gave Bailey’s waist.

Matías didn't hold onto the chair when it made contact, letting it splinter across the unfortunately target's chest before Daniel finished him off. Grunting in satisfaction, he glanced over to check on Bailey. She seemed just fine, given that she'd just flipped yet another man onto the bar counter. Yeah the trio was doing pretty damn well for themselves, all things considered. Though Matías did not object when he heard Daniel suggest they get the hell out of there. Matías really didn't want to get involved with the authorities. So he called out to Bailey after giving a nod to Daniel. "C'mon Bettie, we're getting out of here!" Bailey glanced back at Matías and threw him a pout, but nonetheless made her way over.
"Awwww, and just when I was startin' to have fun." She lamented. Rolling his eyes, Matías led the way after Daniel while keeping an eye on the old wolf. Fortunately they got out of there without too much hassle, considering most of the bar denizens had already been knocked out or were deeply involved in trading blows with someone else. All three managed to make it out of there into the crowded streets. Bailey was laughing much like Daniel was.
Man, what a rush!
Even Matías got caught up in it, chuckling deeply as he slung an arm around Daniel in return once they got close and stumbled away from the bar. yeah that alcohol was still definitely effecting their systems. "Least this time we got out before the cops showed up!" Matías said with a snort and a toothy smirk. "Still blame that one on you, you damn dog." While Matías didn't notice the little squeeze Daniel had given Bailey's waist when the girl slid up on the other side of the man, the cowgirl certainly did. With a wide, lopsided grin, she slid her own arm around his waist and gave it a similar squeeze, although she addressed Matías.
"Dunno, ya can be damn slow sometimes Maddie."
"Fuck off, McClain." Came Matías' ever tactful retort.
"Oh I'm fixin' to do just that." Bailey chuckled, her brown-eyed gaze switching over to Daniel with a burning intensity. "Ya don't just go an' get a gal riled up like that and expect her not to wanna finish the job." Now she gave Daniel's waist another squeeze, bumping his hip with hers. "Now the only question I've gotta answer is: with who?" The words came out in a low purr, and their implication was pretty damn obvious. Matías, having heard that tone before, snapped his head over and immediately groaned. There was a loud smack! as his palm hit his forehead.
"You've gotta be fuckin' kidding me, McClain."

“ The Righteous Side of Hell. “Hey, it ain’t my fault that those guys happened ta have buddies around the corner,” Daniel countered. “Wasn’t I the one that got us outta that little jam anyway? Ya know, bribes and all that shit?” The funny thing about Surajan police is that they were all rotten to the core and could be bought off with the right amount of cash or the right favor. He’d been lucky in that the cops that showed up to break up the fighting were particularly greedy bastards and it had only cost him half of what the job paid him. It wasn’t a huge sacrifice considering that he knew far more than he would’ve like to about what happened to people that landed themselves in a Surajan prison camp; relic of his old life.
He tried not to grin at the low, husky tones and the lopsided smirk Bailey gave him; tired and failed spectacularly. His head turned to regard the smiling woman with an equally lopsided smirk that all but spoke for him. “Well, I’m not really the kinda man that’ll leave a job undone. “And ‘sides, I gotta make sure this guy gets home without gettin’ in ta more trouble, ain’t that right, buddy?” He turned to favor MatÍas with a wolfish grin; it was plain to see that he had other things planned. There would be time for the man to contemplate what as the old wolf began dragging his two friends away from the scene. He didn’t much fancy the idea of spending the night in a jail cell. He’d rather it be in more… comfortable accommodations.
((Feel free to move right along to the hotel or whatever.))

SHAME ON YOU Matías laughed and shook his head as they walked. "Yeah yeah. At least your money spoke better for us than you did! If we'd been relying on your charisma alone, we would've been spending more than just a few nights in a squat little cell." Hell, even more than that. Matías knew what hell a Surajan prison was like. Fortunately they'd gotten out of that situation only having to give up some coin. Greedy bastards. At least they could always count on the Surajan police to turn their heads for the right amount of money.
But all Matías' concern about that subject went out the proverbial window when he saw the faces Bailey and Daniel were making at each other. There was an audible smack as his palm met his face with a groan. "Ain't you just a gentlemen?" Bailey drawled with a Cheshire grin on her face that she also directed at Matías. Who just glared at her and Daniel.
"You're saying I'm going to be the one getting into trouble? And just who was it that started that brawl back there? Don't you dare say it was that stupid kid." Matías said.
"Way I see it, he was." Bailey commented with a shrug.
"Shut it McClain I wasn't askin' you."
"Awwww, reckon someone's gettin' ugly cause they're up past their bedtime." Bailey teased. Which only earned yet another scowl from Matías.
"Whatever, just get us to the hotel. And I'm getting my own room, understand?" Matías said firmly, holding the glare on Bailey. The mercenary woman only laughed though and shook her head.
"I ain't about to drag ya into this, Maddie. Ya might ruin the fun anyways." Taunting him, she grinned at him before they all collectively picked up the pace. The further from the bar they were, the better. Besides, now Bailey had something to look forward to. When they finally did reach the hotel, which was a little better than one of the typical run-down ones the two mercenaries might stay in, Matías simply waved them off with a roll of his eyes before heading to his own room. Bailey, however, hooked her fingers into Danial's pants and tugged him off towards their room instead. A wicked smirk was playing about her lips, and her eyes were nearly burning with a certain kind of hunger to them.
"Now let's hope you ain't all bark an' no bite, Dan."
This definitely turned out to be a fun night.
