blood on my name THERE'S A RECKONING A COMING, IT BURNS BEYOND THE GRAVE
He'd only just finished his latest mission report when news of a terrorist attack reached Headquarters.
Hunters could be considered a part of the law enforcement, yes, but not too many ran around the cities dealing with every crime and disturbance that cropped up. Vandalism? Thievery? Public disturbances? Those were things that the public police force could often handle without reaching out to the Guild for help. It was only when magi were involved that you could be sure to see a few of their ranks on the scene. Archaleos had been all too eager to respond when he heard of the situation— an attack on some of the minor government buildings downtown; fire magi confirmed present and others likely to be assisting in the destruction —so it was in the company of a small group of other Hunters who had been immediately ready to respond that he headed to the site. What met them there was buildings being consumed in flame (firefighters already trying to tame it), smoke billowing up toward the midday sky, and crowds pressing to evacuate from the surrounding area. The only people who struck against the flow of bodies were the ones there to contain the damage, and those looking to find the culprits. It would be a rather ineffective use of time to try and insert himself into the chaos going on around here, which led Archaleos to decide to slip through the nearby alleyways in search of prey befitting Kalidas' children. Magi, of course. The terrorists could have easily run off by now, wanting to avoid run-ins with the law, but it was equally likely that they hadn't. An unknown number could be lurking still, moving on to untouched buildings so as to spread the destruction further. The teen's hand lay, ready, at Azriel's hilt as he made his way briskly down the narrow streets with eyes peeled for any signs of his prey and he turned a corner— only to be met with a wall of fire that roared into being up ahead. A dumpster or two gave it ample tinder and Archaleos found his path blocked by an obstacle that practically hissed in his face. He clenched his jaw in irritation and made to turn around to go looking for another path. 0000 WORDS |

Post"Wicked" Aiden Garnette He hadn't been one for this kind of spectacular chaos that was for sure, but he was at its heart in spite of it all. Entering Felici was more than a bit risky for the lone hunter because it was the seat of the guild's military power and most personnel lived nearby or in the city. Just setting foot inside required good effort on his part with several loose endings in-between. Not that he had wanted or even meant to raze a small section of government buildings, but his Magi acquaintances had seen fit for it. Well, it was one way for them to make a statement, get attention, and protest unjust treatment all at the same time, but the planning ahead part could use some work.
Much to his chagrin, he gained little from going on this whole misadventure. The government building held no valuable information and only resulted in the deaths of some lesser officials. There was some information that would come in handy, but he would need to dissect it later.
Aiden pulled up a face mask to make the smog of flames more bearable and stem the need to cough. His eyes and ears were keen and open as he waved forward and tried to spirit the three Magi away from the flames, but there just wasn't enough time. Before long, the authorities as well as alert Hunters would be arriving and that would certainly spell the end for them. If they arrived in force, even he wasn't sure he would be able to get away, "Go! Don't stop running! Stick to the back roads and blend in as soon as you can! Quinn, make sure that Markos doesn't set fire to anything else! Gemini, you take them along the quickest route."
In a hurry, Aiden also had the Fire Magi block the path behind them with an inferno that would stem immediate pursuers, but there were easy paths around and wouldn't buy them much time. In utter frustration, Aiden stopped running and quickly made an about face. "Gemini is the leader. I'm gonna hold them off and buy everyone more time so keep heading out!" he shouted aloud so that his charges were sure to have heard him. Breaking off from the small group of terrorist Magi, Aiden turned around a corner and headed back. He made sure to keep the mask and cowl over his hair, ensuring his features were unnoticeable as he rushed around.
The first Hunters were unaware of him and so it was easy to make quick work of them. Following the path away from the flames, the unaware Hunters ran smack dab into the middle ground where there was open ground in-between the buildings. Seeing the opening, Aiden had just the chance he needed to charge out at their blind spot. They heard the sound of pulsing footsteps and the man reacted immediately to turn the hilted blade in his hand just as Aiden's knife bit into the man's neck. The woman's eyes widened considerably, taken aback by the fact their assailant had attacked them and was seemingly not a Magi. The silver-haired man couldn't stop at that though. He leaped forward and kneed the female hunter in the sternum, causing her to cough up bile before the bloodied knife stabbed, retracted, and then wretched again into the biceps of her left arm.
She screamed aloud, cursing the mysterious man who now towered over her "Come on then. Get up and fight me some more you little Magiphobic b****! I'm not going to allow you to lay a single hand on them so lets see you get up and fight!" he said before twisting the knife some more.
Note: Too violent?

Today at approximately about 10:16 am, a terrorist attack took place in the human resources center, according to witnesses, the building just suddenly burst into flames, a few people around the area were affected by the impact. We bring you live to Steve bergersen, Steve?
Yes Lina I can hear you, as you can see firefighters have already moved in trying to put out the flames and enter the building in hopes to rescue all the personnel trapped inside the human resources center, police has arrived and cleared the area. We have a few nearby hunters in the area coming in to respond to the chaos that hit the district; the pursuit for the suspects responsible for this is already underway.
“Stand back people, clear the area now!” shouted a police officer, several fire trucks can be heard honking their horns, police sirens can be heard and two ambulances from one of Felici’s medical centers have responded. Indeed it was a scene of utter and complete chaos.
Hovering over the entire block at 600 feet is a small drone with two powerful propellers overseeing the entire area. Because of the smoke generated by the fire in the building, the drone has to switch to thermal scans. Magi show a different heat signature than humans so it’s easy to spot them, there are five signals heading towards one direction, the shopping district where it’s easy to lose their pursuers.
It’s strange to see a human helping these magi so there was one conclusion… he could have been one of the accomplices. The drone was so high up; it couldn’t be seen easily since the black smoke covered its approach. The human was wearing a mask so it’s hard to get a facial ID.

blood on my name THERE'S A RECKONING A COMING, IT BURNS BEYOND THE GRAVE The heat of the flames and the urgency of the situation both combined to hasten Archaleos' retreat from the blocked alleyway, but before he turned the corner, voices met his ears. All unfamiliar and only fading with each passing second. —ini. ...buy more time—— heading out!No good. Straining his ears to try and discern the words really wasn't getting the Hunter anywhere so, with another disgruntled huff of breath, Archaleos ducked around the corner and shifted into a run to try and pursue the sources. This seemed to be the right direction anyway, and the x-ray capabilities of his eye wouldn't be enough to let him peer through entire buildings to see ahead. Thankfully it turned out that his intuition had been correct. He'd been too slow to call out in warning to the other Hunters— the first thing Archaleos saw of the courtyard was the male Hunter crumple, eyes rolling as the unknown assailant's blade severed his spine. ...now that was unfortunate. It admittedly startled the teen some to stumble across such a violent display yet, ever the enthusiastic one, it was clear he had a job to do here. Not just to try and spare his remaining comrade but also to capture whoever this masked attacker was. Archaleos had a pretty solid hunch that this guy was involved with the destruction back the way they'd come. The assailant was distracted with his next target, which gave Archaleos the opportunity he needed to close the distance between himself and them. A rapid volley of footsteps announced his presence before there was the sing of steel as Azriel was drawn from its sheathe to catch the gleam of the sun overhead. A soft whistling, the blade cutting through air in an arcing path straight for the mystery man's midsection; Archaleos wasted no time in jumping right into the fray. If the attack landed and reduced this guy to a bloody pile then, well, that worked just fine. If not? Hopefully Archaleos could at least drive him away from the other Hunter he had pinned down. 0000 WORDS | | Aiden Garnette @millytank | | not at all. feel free to be violent tbh |

Post"Wicked" Aiden Garnette The woman he could tell was in utter pain and in no condition to stand up and it was quite possible that he had officially ended her career if she were to live through this. He withdrew the knife from her arm, seeing her writhe from the intensity of the pain. Behind his cloth mask, he was calm and grim. He wouldn't be able to question her and he felt no pity, despite purely anguished cries and fallen tears. He prepared himself to move on and cut off the next choke point in case extra reinforcements came on by. Then came the thrumming beat, shelling of footsteps, and a reactionary cold shiver running down his spine that was all too familiar for someone like him. By instinct alone, Aiden pivoted on his left foot while simultaneously reaching for his second knife hanging from the belt around his waist. His attacker had reeled in close and fast from his blind spot and he saw the sheen of the long silver blade coming at him. There wasn't really time to consider how; he grabbed his other knife and in a split-second reflex twisted his body to the side as the steel of the knife skidded along the edge of the sword. So the full force of the sword didn't cut him in half anyway, Aiden deftly parried and tried to turn the hilt of his knife upward, letting the strength generated roll off and away from his body. It would still send a great shock up his arm, but he knew the practiced maneuver well. His moving gaze meanwhile passed over his assailant's thin form and unexpected build. He was shorter in height then Aiden, but the former hunter was more quick to notice the arms of the younger boy. There was little bulk to the younger boy, but it seemed like he was all too eager to get at him. Perhaps he had even been too eager. Flailing off of his pivot, Aiden lashed around and about by reflex and with his longer legs aimed a hard roundhouse kick towards the boy's gut with the intention of forcing him backwards from whence he came and away from Aiden. "Nice try there kiddo, but don't go eagerly jumping into a fight." he commented with grim and undisguised disgust, "It might just be the death of you." Note: Fitting BGM: Magi OST | Shiro SagisuAlso if I do something wrong here (or Aiden shouldn't see his robotic arms) please let me know. I haven't written a battle in a long time so this is nice warm-up. "Speech Here"

blood on my name THERE'S A RECKONING A COMING, IT BURNS BEYOND THE GRAVE
There was the shriek of metal on metal— of two honed edges clashing and sliding; snarling like territorial wolves —as Archaleos' strike saw itself parried. It honestly didn't surprise the Hunter much to have the attack not draw blood since he had gone charging across a good twenty feet or so to close the distance, but still. There was a touch of disappointment in it anyway. (How nice it would have been to end this encounter in one move and get on with damage control). Ah well. Archaleos was well prepared to follow his redirected momentum, either way, and hit the ground in a skid just before he caught the flash of motion out the corner of one eye that foretold a kick knifing right for his midsection. A sharp inhale and he drew his free arm up to block— the kick sent up a sharp clang as it impacted the flat of Archaleos' forearm. That made it a parry on both their parts and left the two combatants standing a short distance apart as the younger male stumbled a few steps back to regain his balance. Next was a tense pause. ❝...haha. I assure you that I can take care of myself,❞ Now this guy just about ticked every single one of his nerves within two sentences, and it showed in the sneer (more like a baring of teeth than a smile) that split Archaleos' lips as he spoke. The pure condescension in the the other man's words— he never had liked been called kid —made Archaleos relish the thought of taking another swing for his face yet he held off for the moment, keeping a sharp eye on both his opponent on the other Hunter who was now crawling her way out of danger in a slow, painstaking drag. Archaleos was aiming to give her enough time to get out of the way, so that he could focus on the coming fight rather than trying not to step all over her, which led him to stand with a rigid grip on his sword and adrenaline silently buzzing through his veins. He just had to hold off for a little longer; shift the focus onto himself. Archaleos head cocked off to one side with a cold gleam of curiosity lighting his gaze. ❝Just what are you doing here anyway? I think that it is far more risky to go around attacking Hunters and assisting terrorists,❞ It could hardly be called an accusation; this man's voice had definitely been the one he'd heard earlier. Now the real question was why? There were no apparent traits marking him as a magi (though that didn't mean none existed) and, in that case, what was motivating him to run around with those animals? To kill his own kind for them. A dry, humorless laugh escaped the Hunter. ❝Forget getting myself killed, I'm more at risk of being sick if you tell me that you're a magi sympathizer.❞

Post"Wicked" Aiden Garnette Aiden didn't take his eyes off his opponent, but neither did he forget about the woman he had previously been in the process of killing. However, he couldn't afford to take one eye off of this adversary. If he did, he would certainly pay for it. He seemed arrogant, seemingly smug and overconfident in his own victory. Talking though and keeping the conversation going here for just a little bit was in his favor, but going to assist the back alleys in case any others were going around was also in his agenda. If he could stall for a few minutes more, than the few Magi he had safeguarded would easily make it away under the cover of chaos and disorder. Really though, he had limited information on which hunters were both skilled and pious enough in their duty to challenge him. He pulled closer to his hood, shadowing his features further so they would not be recognized. His voice was also slightly heavier in tone. Not impossible that someone would recognize it, but far less likely even for the hunters. He was far older and his voice far deeper than when he was 18 and a part of the guild. He despised the arrogance he used to deride the Magi and him. Aiden circled his enemy, sizing him up with an acute, dissecting eye. He looked stronger with his upper body by a small margin, drawing Aiden to question the strength of his enemy's lower body and center of gravity. Off-balancing his target was probably his best bet and concentrating his attacks on the less mechanized portions would probably yield better results. His prosthetic arm was going to be a bit of a liability in this fight since he himself favored his right side that was more flexible and fluid. The stone-cold humor and twisted comments drew a heated, beast-like shiver from Aiden as he nearly struggled to hold himself back from violently charging forth. Aiden felt his anger rapidly spread, though he spoke calmly and managed to keep it under wraps, "Talking to scared little brats like you makes my stomach churn. So what if I do sympathize? You don't have the power nor experience to compel me to think otherwise. All you've done is just bark at your master's commands and swallow whatever they tell you. Come here; I'm just going to kill every single one of you here. You can forget about going after the Magi; I'm not going to let you lay a single finger on them. Or would you rather I kill the woman before we fight? If that is the case, then we have no reason to be chatting anymore." Aiden mouthed aloud with a raised eyebrow underneath, causing the defeated hunter to freeze in place. He took a quickstep backwards without taking his eye off the embattled Hunter and sternly punted the woman in the temple with the bare end of his foot. At full force, the kick delivered to the temple knocked the woman out like a lightbulb and sent her sprawling out on the ground. As soon as he did that, Aiden strafed to his right side and began to eye his opponent warily. He charged forward, though not at full speed, while strafing and dodging around. Once up close, the ex-hunter went in for several tactical attacks, aiming for a low sweeping kick after feinting from a quick elbow swipe at the youth's jaw. After that, Aiden decided to go for several more probing motions and attacks to make an opening. Using his superior height to his advantage, Aiden went for grapples and quick punches in his attack pattern while preparing and trying to anticipate reciprocal attacks coming at him from the arrogant boy. He couldn't stay predictable so he also made it a point to alternate his kicks and attacks from both sides, striking at his opponent openly whenever he could manage to do so.

blood on my name THERE'S A RECKONING A COMING, IT BURNS BEYOND THE GRAVE
It wasn't unjustified to call Archaleos arrogant or haughty, prone to looking down on any opponent who stepped in his path, but hasty? No, definitely not— the Hunter was methodical just by nature and he never threw himself into a fight without thinking first. Tracking dangerous prey so recklessly would only get you killed. This meant that both of the combatants could now be seen watching each other closely as the tension, the hostility, crackled like charged air before a thunderstorm. Simply looking at the other male told Archaleos a few things: such as the fact that his adversary had a few inches of height over him, probably a bit of weight too, and seemed comfortably skilled with those knives of his. This would be a close quarters fight. The hood was also enough to obscure any of the man's notable features, but even if Archaleos had had a clear view there would be no recognition from the younger of the pair. How was he to know someone who had turned their back on the Guild more than a decade ago? Well, the knowledge certainly wouldn't have bolstered his opinion of this man. Being a magi supporter was disgusting enough. Archaleos' dark eyes narrowed to slits as the other spoke again and he met the stare head on, following his opponent's prowling giat with his eyes. The Hunter only shifted his stance to turn when it became impossible to follow by moving his head alone. ❝ Compel you? If you had any human decency you would have already realized how unforgivable the things you are doing are,❞ Said with a mixture of warped amusement and disdain. Nothing quite riled Archaleos' ire like being demeaned for his age or his loyalty, so there was fury too that made his ensuing laugh grate in an unpleasant bark of sound. ❝You're the animal here, but that suits just fine.❞ It would be extremely satisfying to put this one down. The mention of the woman brought his attention skipping back to where she lay, prone and futilely trying to escape, and Archaleos bristled in outrage all over again when his opponent struck her down. Yes unfortunately there were far too many distractions in place that kept him from thinking about the magi— possibly about to escape, but equally likely to come across the Hunters he'd come with —and the teen was not about to lose focus on this fight. Deplorable or not, this man was dangerous. Merciless against all in his way and excelling at pushing Archaleos' buttons, that's for sure, but also taking the fight right to his face. Fast— the Hunter noted right off the bat as his opponent closed the distance in mere moments and he was put immediately on the defensive. A quick back step was enough to save Archaleos from having his feet knocked out from under him, but the ensuing barrage of strikes forced his sword in close just for the sake of fending off blows. A sharp edge and metal forearms were useful for this and Archaleos grit his teeth, robotic eye illuminating a soft yellow in the hopes that he could better keep track of the movements and find a chance to retaliate. This guy had no discernible pattern, which sucked, yet the Hunter's reflexes were enough to guard his center (he was still definitely going to have bruises after this) until he chose to strike. Gripping tight to the handle, Archaleos lashed out with a wide arc of his sword— hoping to drive the other male back —before lifting his arm to bring a strike down and diagonal on his opponent. 0000 WORDS | | Aiden Garnette | | same here. still trying to figure out accurate swordfighting |

Post"Wicked" Aiden Garnette If Aiden had expected a pushover, then disappointment would've been inbound. The younger hunter was clearly talented and quite gifted, fending off Aiden's onslaught using only a handful of reflexive, en-guard movements. Aiden tried to lighten the boy's heavily defended center with outward strikes and he surely delivered some bruises, though any decisive attack evaded him. It was when the boy saw the opening that Aiden was then forced to retreat. The wide-arcing swing forced him to abandon the attack and be driven backwards or risk being bisected. The moment was fast and unrelenting, driven by the pure adrenaline of combat in their veins. As gifted a fighter as Aiden was, his opponent was deft enough that the fight would need to go on a lot longer and that didn't favor Aiden in the slightest. The hunters were surely going to be on the move soon and he had bought them a few minutes of extra time. After sidestepping and bending deeply to the side, Aiden had to flex his ribs in order to avoid being struck down by the diagonal strike. Unable to resume the pattern of striking, a moment of pause befell him. As sad as it was, he would have to admit that he didn't have the tools right now to take down multiple hunters of a high skill level. He was pressed for time and the dialogue from before had given him just the extra push he had needed. Lifting his feet up as he went, Aiden touched back down on the concrete just several feet back where they were both out of each other's range. Digging around in his pockets, Aiden settled on making a quick getaway from the arena of battle. He'd accomplished his goal and the Magi were surely going to get away now, if only by a hair. "Quite the skilled little brat you are. Very nice blade movements however, I'm afraid that you're going to have to excuse the rest since your pray will be making their escape for now. You won't be tracking them down anytime soon. Next time we meet though... be prepared to be hunted yourself."With a flick of his wrist, Aiden fled away down the opposite alley. The fire was going to get worse and soon it wouldn't be the best option to chase after him unless the hunter was keen on having a fight to the death. Their options though were rapidly limiting as the smouldering buildings in the background continued to burn.
