Personality overall
Sarcastic | Emotional Masochism | Melancholic | Austere | Devious | Distant | Sadistic | Honest | Restless
Going by first impressions alone, Aiden’s personality is one in which strong ego, aloofness, and relentless sarcasm all intermingle harmoniously together in one man. He is almost usually calm, confident, composed in overall demeanor, generally in-control of himself and laidback up to a certain point but also very snarky and snide in his way of speaking. He likes to tease people and ventures openly into casual mockery, slight arrogance, sarcastic retorts, as well as light humor to rebuff or deflate attempts at conversation with those he dislikes. Even while out of conversation, Aiden doesn’t always stay calm and won’t shy away from being snarky, lewd, or inappropriate (PG-13) language and behavior. Beneath it however is also melancholy and an insightful view of the world; the distance he puts from people often helping him to approach problems with some degree of less bias. He is capable of sound judgement and can be pretty intelligent, understanding, as well as unusually appreciative of and valuing the quality of selflessness when it is shown. He also has a slight weakness for both giving and receiving small gifts.
Indeed, driving Aiden forward is a sincerely touched, austere, and tenacious spirit. Aiden doesn’t truly enjoy being the center of attention and he has some social insecurities, but he’s nowhere near being a passive force because of his ego and he is most interested when it comes to efficient results in what he is trying to accomplish using an “the ends justify the means” kind of attitude. He has swagger, never quits, and can be ultimately severe in his pursuit of his goals when pushed. In truth, Aiden isn’t mild-mannered, modest, or as extremely gentle a man, as some people might expect. He is easily given to acting out his inner demons and going to the farthest extremes of his personality with sometimes little tempering and innate self-control to curb the wildest of his tendencies when they occur at full pitch. He isn’t always reasonable and can be even more abrasive and brutal at times when his fevers are pitched. There can still be room for compassion as well as a very human side to him on occasion, but also an unabashed shamelessness that can vary and tide with his mood in the moment.
In his teenage years, Aiden was the outgoing, wild, somewhat popular kid (bully) on the dead end streets of parking lots who didn't even mind teasing a young girl while in school. After the incident that took his arm, Aiden’s personality slightly withdrew to more shy and self-concerned tendencies and it altered how far and how willing he was to express himself at times while in public. While living in Dagos, he also fell to thieving and petty thuggery in order to get by after leaving his father.
When there is serious business at hand, Aiden becomes very grim and nearly dead silent. In contrast to his smart-alecky, flippant, and calm persona, Aiden can be as no-nonsense as the very women who took his arm when he has the desire to be. Most of the avoidance and sarcasm front he puts up serves as a mental firewall, specifically meant to prevent having to disclose himself to others. Discussing anything more than his superficial and invested self in terms of emotion and subjectivity is something that is truly uncomfortable for him to do and something he feels would cause him more pain and trouble in the future than it would solve to put his innermost thoughts on display for others to mock and jeer at. Inwardly and underneath his abrasive disposition is a (rather tsundere) man who actually has some pretty strong sentiments.
Despite his taunting, rotten attitude, Aiden is actually intellectually conflict-averse and against verbally debating and arguing ideas or positions with others, a trait he came into during his Hunter training and stemmed from his father’s constant need for difference and to play devil’s advocate while he was a child as well as their own repeat arguments. Oftentimes, Aiden will retreat away or end potential arguments cold-turkey, even if it is his taunting being seen as the very cause of the argument, and strike out on his own to solve a problem. He’s not a fool or foolish, but he feels and sees arguing as a waste of his time and energy. In fact, a look at Aiden's whole inner self paints a very different portrait than what he showcases on a daily basis in front of others. He's a much different person deep inside, though still relatively snarky and sarcastic.
In truth, Aiden has extremely liberal and even radically progressive views underlying his inner world that developed in secret during his hunter training and didn't truly come to light until Claire nearly killed him. The near-death experience at the hands of Claire, near-torture, and near-assault at the hands of other humans convinced him that the world was stuck in a fruitless cycle of perversion and death. Therefore, Aiden grew to label the status quo 'toxic' and will even resort to violence when needed in order to correct the path that the world is on.
To that end, he will show deviousness and put on facades as well as spy on others if they serve his self-interest or any other cause he feels is just. Thus, he hates talking about or dealing with politics itself and sees it as cumbersome and off-putting. He may have a general good intentions, but Aiden can become easily frustrated and resort to name-calling and mockery in order to cope with the burden and end arguments and debate as soon as possible if his disdain builds high enough. He may be charitable, hard-working, supportive, and he doesn't feel that he needs to rely on others to look after himself or even gods for that matter. This self-sustained attitude slowly led to suspicion and eventually disillusionment with the views and practices of the Hunter’s Guild that started to reach a breaking point before the incident that resulted in his near-death though started shortly after losing his arm as a teenager and being sent on a downward spiral of self-reflection.
He became an eternal apologist towards the Magi, an attitude that has been almost literally “engraved on his soul”. When faced with the loss and grief of Magi, Aiden actually invests himself in their problems and struggle and so usually tries to offer whatever emotional or physical comfort he can to the affected parties, even if the phrasing and expressing of the emotion itself can be a case for some awkward moments or if it involves degradation, humiliation of himself, or extreme passivity. Because of his disaffection, Aiden can be sharply critical and incisive towards other hunters and humans to the point of dubbing and nicknaming all the “Magiphobes” he comes across and treating them to his sharpest insults and verbal jabs. In a sharp rebound reaction towards what he views as injustice, Aiden shows very little to no tolerance for those who look to do the Magi any harm.
Should he play witness to the senseless violence, Aiden’s blowback reaction can instantly become savage and merciless. In many cases, it can include brutalizing and vulgarity (PG-13) while in some others it can draw mostly to a short shouting match, one of the few instances where Aiden will freely drop his nearly unflappable composure to stick up for his ideals of Magi freedom and equality when his disdain for debate breaks. Though he can’t remain completely unperturbed while brutalizing enemies in combat, Aiden has a very efficient and tactically methodical approach to fighting while preferring to outmaneuver, parry, and counter enemies with his own movements. In fights against other hunters, Aiden frequently takes their weapon in the end, more out of respect for the deceased who went into making the weapons and his own ideals.
Though it is a minor facet and plays a more subliminal role in his complex persona, Aiden subconsciously feels more comfortable and happy when he is mentally on-edge and feeling at the bottom. He may not like abuse, thanks to his father’s drunken rampages, but he gets what could only be called a sublime feeling from flipping and reversing the situations he finds himself in. Feeling down just means the moment he can look forward to the moment of triumph and it will be so much sweeter.
As you've no doubt concluded by now, this pretty boy you've been reading has more than just his virtues, but also his vices and thorns. He sees most gods as worthless or evil and regards them with open, visceral disdain or anything that smacks of the current status quo. On his downtime and when he can catch a breather, there are times when he will become a little more frivolous and modestly relaxed, although that means specks of his once wild teenage years rear their ugly heads once in a blue moon. Get Aiden intoxicated enough and he can be a sad/perverse drunk or perhaps a happy-go-lucky one. His friends and people whom he shares interests with are most likely to get the best out of Aiden's personality while those who can't look past to see his side of the table will find only a stony face, a sometimes cunning insult, and maybe worse a punch in the mouth.

[PTab=APPEARANCE]
yearning for love, they slumber
appearance
Snowbound hair and cerulean blue irises are Aiden's most striking facial features and the ones most responsible for lighting up his veneer and adding weight to go along with his somewhat rotten personality. His snow-white hair spikes and falls over the sides and back of his head, framing around the angles of his face. His nose and chin are very well-defined and sharp. His neck is not very thick and skinny pretty much.
Other than his stirring veneer of handsomeness, Aiden is a tall and rather lanky individual, standing at 6 feet 2 inches in height (187.96cm) and weighing in at 150 pounds. Though it is often captured and bound beneath his clothes, Aiden's left arm is a charcoal-black prosthetic limb. The armament was crafted from standard alloys to make it both durable and maneuverable enough to be used as a replacement limb. Aiden is well-toned, white-skinned and generally fairly lanky and limber, his muscles, stature, and poise all honed by his experience as a hunter. Athletic and lean, Aiden can be pretty imposing and towers over average-sized people.
Obtained in character:
After having his right leg amputated above the knee, he has obtained a silver prosthetic limb to replace it. The silver legging, though rather plain in design, is high-functioning and durable enough to handle sustained combat and mobility.

Fashion
Mostly work wear-centric, Aiden's fashion sense isn't very extravagant to speak of unless he is drunk. Most of the time, he dons the same garb he wore as a hunter. On his days where he is free to relax, Aiden will go for more casual or formal wear if it suits the situation. On dates, he will go more for a business-work casual look. Anything goes, except T-shirts or Muscle Shirts that would leave his prosthetic arm exposed.

family relations
Parents
- Alexandra Garnette (Deceased) | Aiden's loving mother. She was a spirited and kind woman, though also a strong realist who disliked fanciful ideals and clouded impulses. There was very little overt or pushiness about her though and she was greatly loved by nearly everyone around her. Unfortunately, she didn't live very long after Aiden's birth, passing away after a clumsy accident led to her death.
- Edmund Garnette (Unknown) | After his wife died, Edmund Garnette was beset with much loneliness and generally lost a lot of what made him the proud father he was before. He loved to debate though and talk about politics alongside fevered laughs over the general state of the world with anyone who would listen and speak with him which became one of the few solaces he had later on. He was a fiercely independent, shrewd man with a disdain for rules and established customs that seemingly served no purpose. It is uncertain if he is even still alive after Aiden left home and the chaos that ensued.
Siblings
- Brother/Sister: None
Extended Family
- Alix (Mother's Stepsister) | Much about Alix isn't known to Aiden. Alexandra never spoke too much about her so much is shrouded in mystery. Alexandra's father though remarried when she was a teen.
- Other Family | Family in Aiden's world aren't exactly high on the priority list. It is completely possible, though don't expect a warm reception from Aiden right out of the gate. Warming up to family and friends isn't exactly his strong suit.

01 Where The Lonely Ones Roam
Age 0-10
Age 0-10
He was born in 2567 on May 6th at 3:01PM to Alexandra and Edmund Garnette while the two of them were living in a small, inconspicuous little town located in-between the East and West capitals of Dagos and Felici. It was a birth performed with few complications, a miracle given the fact that there were many times it couldn't have occurred. The doctors in that small town place were relatively few in number and vastly overworked because of it. Yet somehow, the white-haired boy came into the world as a completely healthy human being.
As a child, Aiden was a mischievous, fun-loving child who mostly enjoyed eating the food his father was able to cook for him. His fondest dinner times always involved a steak or hamburger dinner. He spent many of his days outside, playing in the wide-open countryside where there was nary a worry in the world. The bees and simple animals frolicked and other people were rare to behold.
It was a simple era in Aiden's life. A time that came and went too quickly. With their newborn son, the couple decided that living out in the middle of the world wouldn't give them the substantial living or care they would need and so they set off on a somewhat long journey towards Felici. The closest city that could provide a good living for them. It was a choice not made without sacrifices; Aiden's mother fell ill while they traveled and the entire family waited with baited breath to see if she recovered. They reached the city while feeling weighted down, though the gods did indeed see mercy on them that day. Alexandra did indeed recover and the family was able to start a new life for themselves in Felici, though the experience getting there was not a favorable sign of the times to come.
In the city of Felici, the Garnettes founded a peaceful, tranquil living in the Rosa while his father and mother managed to pick up physical labor at the Virtoso Port. If something was truly amiss in this time period, Aiden could never recall seeing any obvious signs of it. His father and mother provided for him in his early years, avoiding the most trouble even during the few times where they struggled. Aiden at the time lived life in bliss, without the burden of the world on his shoulders.
3 Birthday Parties came and went with each being greeted as a happy, cheerful occasion. They were not an extremely wealthy family, but were fortunate to obtain what they had. He attended a daycare housed in a small room shared by the regular schooling programs as many of the children whom were also left with no other place to stay while their parents worked. Springs and summers passed by in smooth succession. It was only days before Aiden's fourth birthday when the tragedy came. An accident occurred in their family home as an electrical issue set it on fire and taking Alexandra with it while Aiden was blissfully unaware at school. He and Edmund only discovered the burnt shambles of their homestead about an hour after the blaze had been extinguished.
Both Aiden and Edmund were each beset by denial, loneliness, and boundless grief. It unearthed the both of them catastrophically. At the ages of 5 and 6, Aiden started to become more and more of a classic troublemaker while Edmund tried his best to swallow his despair in abject silence. The two did their best to comfort each other, his father even going to bat and defended him when one or two of Aiden's pranks went a few notches out of line or he acted out. By the age of 10, that was their routine, a self-destructive cycle of despair that seemed utterly pathetic.
Than something quite unthinkable happened.
Aiden began teasing a young girl at his school named Claire Sonozaki. He picked on her, called her names, mostly because of the insecurities he wasn't ready to acknowledge. He snarled verbal jeers at her, throwing whatever insults he could and was probably at his worst in that moment. Because Claire retaliated. Violently. She latched onto him and twisted his arm, ripping it apart as he shrieked aloud. He was defiant to the end, angry and insecure, Claire literally twisted his arm inside out. Those who saw and knew what had happened that day, especially some of the classmates who were silently fond of Claire, turned to ridicule Aiden. He retreated from his bullying, covering up his arm and generally being too afraid to bring up the incident or retaliate as his father wanted to. The whole thing was quickly beset upon by Claire's beleaguered mother who used her influence to hush the whole ordeal blew over.
The trial did a number on Aiden's mental state who considerably changed after the fact. The first things he felt were anger and a deep sense of humiliation from having his body mangled by a girl who was younger than him. Socially, those who had seen the fight and whom had favored Claire, turned to mocking and stoning Aiden. Claire's mother promised aid and with the family's resources, suing was a less appealing option than to let the whole thing go.
02 At the Onset of Summer
Age 11-15
Age 11-15
After the incident, Aiden was transported to a hospital where he was able to acquire a prosthetic limb with the quiet support and influence of Claire's mother. It came with some small financial aid as well as help and counselling as per the arrangement that was made between the two parties. The process was slow-going, though circumstances and substantial arguments did help to speed things up. Within a month and a half, Aiden was retrofitted and the surgery went underway.
When it was all finished, Aiden's new arm was able to allow him to function again, though the sacrifices had been made. Getting used to the new arm was going to take a lengthy adjustment period. There was also the issue of returning to school whereby he was hardly welcome by his classmates anymore as plenty threw abuse and ridicule his way. When Aiden came home one day after about a week at school living with his new condition, the first thing he and his father did was have a firm heart-to-heart that lasted several hours in the cold solitude of their small apartment home. After a long, hard discussion, Edmund and Aiden both agreed that it was perhaps time for them to move away from Felici back to the countryside just as the onset of summer was underway.
Quietly, the two of them packed up most of their possessions as Edmund saved up a sufficient amount of money from his job to keep them from starving for the next 3 days they would be out on the road. About 5-6 months after having his arm torn apart by Claire, Aiden and his father disappeared into the night, rejected from the place they had called home for the last several years. It was a bittersweet feeling to see it all fade to black as the two of them set out to start looking for a better place to begin anew, away from the bad memories plaguing the both of them.
They traveled on the low roads for several days, stopping in several towns that perhaps had the best chance at hope for a better life. Many of the places they saw gave Aiden goosebumps and his father couldn't help but reminisce as well. There were moments though when the dread and realization truly began to sink in; they were grasping at straws. The year was 2579, a despondent time for the two of them. In the end, the both of them had to make the painful decision that they wouldn't be able to find another place like Felici in small town Myshnei. After about a week's worth of walking and riding, the two of them finally decided that they would have little choice but to settle down once again in the only big city that could possibly give them a life that wasn't in the desolate countryside: Dagos.
It was then that they hit their lowest of lows. The father and son did manage to gain entry into the city, walking into the squalor district of the slums where all the poor of Dagos conglomerated and the only area where they could reasonably afford a small place to live with the meager amount of gold they had remaining. They felt fortunate to find any place to stay in Dagos, though neither of them could predict the full reach of the squalor they would find in Dagos. From the start, Edmund had a hard time finding work and the two of them were reduced to living off only what Aiden could bring in. With no other means of survival from his father, Aiden turned to the petty theft and stealing just like he had done while in pettiest of years. Despite how easy it had been when he was younger, he now found very little joy in it during the year of 2580.
Before long, even the bond between Aiden and his father would face immeasurable strain. While he had once been happy to debate and speak openly with his father in order to quell their loneliness, now there was mostly a sedentary type of silence between them as the turbulence also mounted. They both felt equally forsaken in this place, though neither had enough guts to swallow their pride. They argued voraciously, nearly tearing each other up over the conditions they had been forced to live in and it wasn't long before the beatings began.
Edmund Garnette became much more dependent on alcohol and drink to get through his days. He came home plenty of nights, drunk out of his mind, the two of them would argue for a little, then Edmund would fetch a stick or pipe or anything else that could be found lying on the ground. It didn't take very long for the conflict to convince Aiden that he had reached his breaking point. After two years of putting up with it, the silver-haired boy stomped out of the house and went off to fend for himself just as the year 2582 reached its hottest peak at the onset of what Aiden would dub as the meanest summer of his life.
03 Worse for Wear
Age 15-18
Age 15-18
Throughout that squalor summer, Aiden lived in abject poverty and slept among communities of homeless citizens he assumed were also among the poor. He kept to himself, mostly deflating any person who tried to speak to him with his characteristic snide remarks. Aiden was mostly able to keep to himself that way by insulating himself, forging his resolve to not go back to his father and to live by himself without the aid or help of others.
He learned to steal, living in filth alongside the many others trying to scrape together a living well under the poverty line. They seemed no different from him, even as he began to catch sight of some people acting strangely. It began with a jerk here or a few people talking suspiciously around him when Aiden wasn't looking. Some of them also looked quite strange, though Aiden was too stubborn to really ask the questions or care specifically at the time. All he was worried about was surviving to live out the next few months.
In that time, he had also started thinking about what he wanted to do with his life. He considered trying to find a regular job in Dagos, but employment was difficult to come by in Dagos, especially in the Slums until he decided to visit the Temple of the Gods on a sunny, humid day in the heart of August in 2582 to do something he never thought he would do: pray for a miracle. What he found there something that gave him the moment he needed to pause and reflect: a true moment of silence. He'd never thought about it before, but the peace he was granted was enough for him to consider a life in which he would sincerely offer his own life to the goddess Kalidas. Being a Hunter wasn't something he had ever thought about doing with his life and religion had never been appealing to him, but it seemed now that he needed something to appeal to in an hour of great need.
After auditioning and applying, Aiden attended a lecture on Hunter's work and was subsequently shown a demonstration and allowed to observe as well as participate in a mock drill. Even as an exercise, against ordinary people who were assuming the stances and tactics of "Magi", it was a pretty brutal few minutes with people who were experienced and knowledgeable of the job's risk and dangers. Some even left the small facility with multiple bruises and sprains on their bodies. It was a brutal test of physical as well as mental resilience. At the end, Aiden along with 2 others from of the initial group emerged and handled the exercise with 'admirable & effective' style while receiving few to no injuries. That was the beginning of Aiden's official scouting exercise with the Hunter's Guild. Within a few days, he was scouted and then immediately sent out.
From the moment it began... perhaps he was doomed and destined for what would occur next in his life. For Aiden, perhaps becoming a hunter had been the worst possible choice he could've made.
It wasn't a regular schooling class like he had been used to. It was indeed a miniature version of a boot camp with training even more intense then what he had endured with the mock exercise. He persevered and soldiered on, despite emerging warning signs of the storm that was coming. Aiden generally didn't have any friends thanks to his more than thorny personality and because of that he often noticed the way many of the hunter's acted. He had never captured a Magi or even seen what one looked like before or where they lived. Perhaps they lived outside the cities? Some were anxious to kill them, blood-thirsting for the day they could put their swords to good use. Many of his superiors as well also acted suspiciously in Aiden's view. There was just something.... off about them. One day, about 4-5 months into the training in the Dagos Regiment E-1, an instructor ordered everyone into a small waiting room. He spoke like death had just snaked its way into their little training session, directing everyone's attention with pointed fingers and loud tones of voice.
The door clattered open, allowing another person to enter the room while holding a chain Aiden guessed had been for some sort of dog. Then he turned his eyes and everything seemed to come to a stand-still. Collared at the other end of a chain, was ... something. That was the only word that Aiden could describe at the time. He looked somewhat human, but also had torn, scattered wings and horns atop his head. He was bleeding in many places, broken and seeming nearly despondent to the tugs coming from the handler. There was a hazy look in his eyes that Aiden could only associate with death. The man/creature was dead inside, under the influence of something along with seemingly having his inner being torn to pieces.
"This is a Magi. They are creatures. Terrorists. They live and hide among us, each taking up new identities to conceal their true selves. When you come across one, all you need to know is that they are fearsome and dangerous. They can be taken out with Downers, drugs that block the usage of their magic. I reckon a few of you have never seen one. Well just know this... having anything to do with one, other than being their reaper, is a crime. They are to be either rounded up or killed."
From there, the lecture trailed off into methods of taking them down, but Aiden personally couldn't help the great binge of sympathy that was building up in the pit of his stomach. The man.. Magi seemed like he was truly and utterly a shell of his normal self. After it was all said and done, you could say that Aiden was closer to a husk than whom he had been when he entered the room. And it was the start of what would end up occurring next.
Aiden started getting becoming more snarly than he had been prior to seeing the showcase of the broken Magi. He kept his opinions to himself and generally detested whenever anyone tried to argue with him. He withdrew into himself in those times, oftentimes taking a stroll through town to take his mind off of things. He persevered with his Hunter Training, but as time went by, Aiden's opinions and utter disdain grew more and more severe. Most of the preliminary ways of breaking in new Hunters was to have them operating as a team to subdue lone Magi by using surprise tactics, but that only made things worse for Aiden.
One day, he was alone and watching as several of his team members brought in a new Magi they had just subdued and seemingly brought into a thin form of slavery. He was pleading for help, begging to see his family and two daughters, a cry they ignored as he was ignominiously dragged away. That moment dang near broke Aiden; the last sight of daylight being snuffed out of the man's eyes like a lantern being extinguished to allow the darkness free reign. That was the exact moment that Aiden decided he couldn't just let this pass; he had to act.
He walked by his superior's offices, almost hoping that there was some way he could do something to understand the reasoning behind the harsh conditions that the Magi suffered. They may not have looked completely human... but they didn't seem like the bad guys that the Hunters were portraying them as. Needless to say, he found nothing, and the language he was subject to was enough even to haunt him. There couldn't be peace, not with these people running the Hunter's Guild. Not when the people from the top to the very bottom were unwilling and incapable of listening to cries for emotion and peace. Those few minutes spent walking the halls also snuffed out the last bit of hope for Aiden too and he quietly calculated what he would do next.
Instead of conforming to his job, Aiden began to spy on his peers and superiors. He took notes on many of the upper management in the Hunter's Guild as well as its most talented members and the few most well-known people living in both Felici and Dagos. He ranked them steadily, giving a value of 1-5 in terms of his evaluation concerning their natures and combat abilities.
One of the top priorities on that list was a figure known as Zaera Alshua whom he gave a 5 based on the reports he accessed that stated she was "highly capable and ruthless". Given his low ranking at the time, Aiden couldn't truly do much to oppose the ones above him, so he swayed himself to play along for now and kept gathering information that he could possibly use later. He donned a mask in public while quietly staying in the shadows and gathering information through his own discrete methods.
Time was something he was willing to be patient with. Over the next 2 years, Aiden secretly gathered and leaked small secrets via the Red Light District while biding his time. They weren't huge or extremely damaging to any of the Hunter's operations and never given directly to anyone who was a suspected Magi, but it satisfied Aiden and he was careful enough to conceal his involvement craftily. He would quietly creep into the Red Light District, leaving notes and dead drops that Runic University officials could discretely say they 'found out' via private sources concerning active students as well as some activities of the Guild. In time, his involvement also became a silent rumor told only in hushed whispers. It probably didn't accomplish a whole lot, but it perhaps left the guild slightly disadvantaged when it came time to recruit and contributed to leaving them one step behind.
At the age of 18 in May of the year 2585, Aiden had just come back from a small operation when he managed to become good friends with one of the officers in the Hunter's Guild, a friend and confidante more in-the-know about Zaera Alshua and also a heavy drinker on her off-days. A tendency that Aiden decided to take advantage of. The two of them led off one night to drink. It was a night of scandal and dancing, but also of great opportunity. Once enough alcohol was in both their systems, she was too eager and all too willing to feed him very specific information.
There was plenty about all of the Hunter Guild's dirtiest secrets that had no planned evidence along with a few tidbits on suspected individuals that Aiden ate up. They talked about government-hunter's guild relations along with some of the noisiest cases before the bombshell was dropped. There was a big plan going on in Zaera's inner circle. Apparently, the woman Zaera had scouted and taken on a young girl and seemingly had hopes of doing something drastic. Apparently, from what was said between them, the girl was a cyborg, a person whom Zaera had actually been openly disdainful in public until just recently. It screamed of a plot, though Aiden wouldn't be able to know specifically what that meant from her word alone. If it had been leaked, it wouldn't even qualify as a scandal, but he filed away the thought closely since it confirmed the reports he had already heard about Zaera. Along with Arata (his other 5 ranked as dangerous on the list), Zaera had to be eliminated.
After paying for their drinks, the two walked away from the Red Light District with the confidante clinging to Aiden's left arm. They traipsed neatly through the slums of Dagos City, Aiden's eyes looking deeply up into the stars and pondering just what would be the consequences of what he was about to do next.
He didn't know when he would do it, but he could only make one conclusion: the Magi would eventually need to be freed. By this time, his distaste had reached its utmost apex and he had decided that the time was almost upon him as he could stand it no longer. He was going to betray the Hunter's Guild. He started thinking and planning the details about what and when he would do it, but then came June 26th, 2585.
When the chaos erupted in the Magi Detention Centers, Aiden was assigned along with the rest of Regiment E-1 to quash the uprising. Unknown to many of the others and his peers however, Aiden wasn't dismayed at all to see the Magi escaping. He moved like a ghost had possessed his movements and he was only fulfilling his breach of habit to move in sync along with the rest. The combat was fearsome and rampaging with the silver-haired man wading into the fray while the dust and mist and flames engulfed the field. It occurred to him early that this was the exact moment he had been waiting for. Everything was perfect. The Magi could be free of this place and a movement may just form from the ashes. It would be a cry for freedom. A brand new start. Aiden was behind his peers, standing solidly where no one could see him as the flames rippling all around illuminated his vision. It was now time.
The environment was in chaos. Splinters of ice, fire, and earth were scattered throughout the battlefield. One of his comrades had a Magi at his mercy and was about to deliver the killing blow. In dramatic fashion, Aiden turned his gun and sword away from the Magi and rushed sternly at the man he had once called a comrade. With a gut-wrenching flash of steel, he quickly stabbed through his comrade's torso. It was quick and no scream was heard from the blindsided man as he fell to the ground in a heap of his own blood as it flooded from his mouth while his eyes gazed up as his assailant. Aiden didn't even spare him a glance of pity, he had work to do. Next on the list, Aiden turned and with the element of surprise was able to kill the remaining hunters who had comprised the Dagos Regiment E-1 of the Hunter's Guild with little to no mercy. From behind, he stabbed them or gunned them down. Using the elemental spells cast by the Magi as cover, he unmercifully ended their lives. Several Magi scurried away as Aiden hurried down a nearby corridor while a heavy explosion rocked the ground to its core.
With a gun and sword in his arsenal, Aiden quickly assaulted and killed 2 more hunters in his path as the Eastern path was steadily being emptied of hostile hunters, allowing more Magi to take cover from the heavy fighting. There was little need now to keep silent and he went about his duty with impunity. He rushed to and fro-killing as many hunters as he could while saving whomever was still alive. On the ground, just past where he had come from, two hunters were on lying on their backs and seemingly groggy from the rocketing explosion. He approached them quickly and silently, eyeing the two figures as recognition donned quickly that he could name them both.
He spotted the girl lying on the ground and if he hadn't been so self-assured at that moment, his mouth would have opened and revealed his own shock. The cyborg was Claire. She appeared much different then he remembered, but even then it wasn't difficult for him to recognize the faint feeling he got from the girl who had ripped off his arm as a child. It was like staring at a crossroads. The other one was a lady whom he could've easily named. It must have either been luck or sheer fortune that one of his top targets was here; Zaera had been practically delivered to his doorstep.
He barked at Claire as he could see her quickly gaining her senses back and his mind was running at 150 mph from the adrenaline. If Claire was in the Hunter's Guild, she was a puppet of Zaera, but maybe, just maybe, he could convince her that he was on her side. He remembered faint recollections of his childhood as they flashed by his eyes, momentarily clouding his mind from the battle raging around them. It was worth a shot. He pointed his gun downwards at Zaera, holding the trigger steady....
That was when he was surprised. Claire suddenly fired back up and shot several rounds into his robotic arm just as he had been prepared to fire. The pushback sent him reeling, giving Claire the opportunity she needed. They battled each other fiercely, parry for parry in a duel to the death. He read her movements as she met his with equal tenacity. He ducked and weaved according to pure instinct while trying to land a single blow on the girl who had seemingly undergone an advanced upgrade to her skills as a brain in a tin can. Sadly, his efforts to outmaneuver her would never come to fruition. She inevitably managed to off-balance him before moving in for the killing blow. Before Aiden could dodge it, her knife flashed in and out, slitting his throat. The red hot liquid gushed up his throat and over his lips. Fresh pain shot through his brain as his lungs could no longer gain a touch of breath. He felt cold. His eyes faded from light as Claire walking back towards Zaera was the final sight he would see before blacking out. He knew what came next: Death. He panicked and tried to move, struggling in vain against the inevitable. It wasn't long before his whole body went cold.
Well, at least I did something... anything. I hope.. did the Magi make it? Did I do any good? Any at all? Was it worth it in the end? Claire...
04 Dry and Gritty
Age 18-26
Age 18-26
His consciousness splintered into a formless entity, devoid of a sense of time or self. Drifting along like a boat on the ghastly river styx, he didn't know exactly when he registered his own intake of breath. Aiden awoke to the sound of chirping and humming coming from somewhere outside of his field of vision. When he finally decided to open his eyes, Aiden found himself staring up at an empty ceiling, in a place that was completely foreign to him. The first thought that occurred to him was that the Hunters had discovered more of his treachery and decided to heal and torture him. The thought brought instant panic and he immediately brought his fingers to touch the barren rejuvenated jugular to make sure it was completely true.
"Ahh. You're awake."
Out of the corner of his eye, Aiden noticed the skinny, barren figure resting by the door. He thought the being may have just been another human being, but upon closer inspection, Aiden's sight cleared up and he recognized the small, childish Magi he had saved from the genocides. There was several hours of confusion, explanations and questions along with exceptional gratitude. A small couple bowed and gave him small presents, mostly very minor bobbles, but the thought brought tears to his eyes.
After being knifed by Claire, Aiden had been nearly on the edge of death. After having seen his bravery in defending them the few Magi he had saved pulled together and made recovery and rescue efforts before breaking out of the Relocation center. In those few moments that transpired, the air became heavy. Moments where Aiden thought he could keep his composure melted away into minutes of comfort and friendship. In a rare moment of humanity, Aiden openly wept tears that flowed freely over the bed onto a dirtied floor in the Slums. In Aiden's mind, this world was now truly wretched; while the love and passion overshadowed the moment, Aiden also had to take in another stark reality. He was now a Dishonored.
Upon regaining his mobility once again, Aiden set off towards the edges of Dagos, fleeing from and eluding the Hunter's Guild. Once outside, he broke for and would live out in the Mountains between Dagos and Felici. He lived like a vagabond, hunting and feeding off the forest and grassland wildlife that frolicked out in the vast stretches of highland. For a year, Aiden would make his living as an elusive killer on the run from justice after having killed multiple hunters in the Genocides and those who inevitably pursued him. He was called a terrorist and a Magi Sympathizer. For the rest of the year 2585, he would indeed learn to get used to that new label. It didn't take long for the goddess Kalidas, whom he had made a pact with, to officially curse him for breaking his oath, an action to which only fueled his disdain further. It seemed the world had truly abandoned him, a forsaken hunter.
One morning in the year 2590, Aiden had been on the run from a band of Hunters who were dead set on killing him. There were only orders that he was wanted dead. He rushed through the plains, using his great knowledge of the terrain to his advantage and eluding the squad of Humans, led by the only target that had eluded him since Zaera: Arata. The Hunters were skilled and nearly managed to have him. In a show of resilience, Aiden managed to both evade them, though he failed to kill his target thanks to the numbers of the squad.
Aiden, the lone Silver-Haired Killer and bearer of the frightful nickname "Wicked Aiden".

[PTab=SKILLS]
I wanna bring the pieces together
Default Skills
Heightened Sense of Sight: This person will never need corrective lenses of any kind (aka glasses or contacts) as long as they are in favor with the Huntress. This person can also, when focusing, see clearly for a perimeter of two miles in the distance.
Melee I (Starter): Can accomplish fundamental and basic feats with melee weapons.
(Examples: Knife, Sword, Sai, Hammer, Axe, Whip, Lance, Chainsaw, etc)
Unarmed Combat I (Starter): You know the basics and can hold your own in a street fight. The type of martial art or fighting style is up to you. We trust you to be realistic for what you can accomplish and not accomplish at being a general level one in unarmed combat.
Purchased abilities
Opgraven's Blessing: This character has been blessed by Nevyne and Opgraven, and may purchase abilities from the Necromancer magic list.
Death to Dust: (Starter) You are able to speed up the decaying process of any corpse you can touch. In minutes, you can disintegrate flesh from bone, and given more time, you can even turn the bones into a fine dust, though this is a tiring process.
Sense Dead: (Starter) With some concentration, you are able to sense every corpse within 20 meters of your location. Due to the nature of Magi bones, you can differentiate between human bodies and magi ones, but no other details. You cannot sense cybernetic parts, hosted human corpses, or android wreckages.
Corpse Puppet: (Starter) Once per day, you are able to animate one corpse within a few meters of you. This corpse is simply a puppet of parts, and nothing more. It can only be given simple verbal commands (Sit, attack, carry, wait, etc). The corpse stays until dismissed, or until the necromancer moves more than 10 meters away for an hour. It takes energy to maintain the puppet, though not as much as other sustained magic. The puppet has no skills.
CORPSE SUMMON (UPGRADE TO CORPSE PUPPET) | You are now able to summon up to three nearby corpses each day, and can communicate with them via mental commands. These can be slightly more complex (Only attack magi/hunters/cyborgs, patrol area, etc). The corpses fight equivalent to Unarmed or Melee I. It takes more energy to maintain more bodies, and they will stay active unless dismissed or until the necromancer moves more than 30 meters away for three hours.
CORPSE HORDE (UPGRADE TO CORPSE SUMMON) | Now you're a real necromancer! You can summon up to ten corpses a day, and they fight with the equivalent of Unarmed II or Melee II. Additionally, they are a bit brighter, able to understand basic combat tactics and the ability to work together. They stay active until dismissed or until the necromancer stays 100 meters away for over eight hours.
SONG OF BONES | Your connection to dark magic allows you to manipulate the bones of corpses, similar to how a magi shapes their element. At this stage you can shape bone into basic weapons, such as swords, or twist it to other basic shapes. You must be touching the bone.
I'm going to be using the ability to manipulate bones to fashion a makeshift right leg for Aiden since Elise took his other one while he was being tortured. Once he is able to get a new leg, the makeshift one will only be for emergencies or when Aiden needs to extend his reach by making a whip made from Bones.
HUNTER'S STEP | Through practice and patience, you have learned to dampen the noise generated by your foot falls. At this level, your footsteps are fairly quiet, though a person in close proximity is still likely to hear you.
HUNTER'S STRIDE | Your Hunter's step has been polished to the point where you can nimbly walk on even the most detrimental terrain. You're able to walk silently on the surface of sand and snow, leaving little imprint behind you.
TRACKING I | Your knowledge of tracks is at its base level. You know animal tracks and can vaguely place how long they've been there. However you cannot tell a direction unless there's a clear path.
Purchased weaponry levels
UNARMED COMBAT II | You have improved in this skill and can now accomplish more impressive feats in the fighting technique you've chosen for your character. You are now also able to defend yourself better against melee weapon-ed attacks.
UNARMED COMBAT III | You are extremely talented in unarmed combat within the field that you have chosen to study in. Not only are you more able to defend yourself against melee weapon-ed attacks but you have a high chance in getting your opponent in dropping their weapon as well if given the chance.
(The fumble concept also applies to firearms as well)
MELEE II | You have improved in this skill and can now accomplish more impressive feats in the fighting technique you've chosen for your character. You are now also able to defend yourself better against melee weapon-ed attacks.
MELEE III | Depending on your character's insinuated realism a character can be up to a mastery level with this purchase.) Even up to being able to slice a bullet from mid air. You are more likely to better a melee levels I and II.
THROWING I (Starter) | Can accomplish fundamental and basic feats with weapon. (Examples: Boomerang, Knives, Shuriken, etc).
Specialized projectiles now unlocked:
Downer: The tip will inject the target with a Downer once purchased
THROWING II | You are now better able to throw multiple projectiles at once.
Specialized projectiles now unlocked:
Flash: blinding light will shine from projectile
Smoke Screen: projectile will emit smoke screen
Net: an impressively strong net will shoot out in hopes of entrapping its target.
MASTERY (DISHONORED HUNGER ONLY) | While you were with the Goddess of the Hunt, you possessed skill greater than your average human. However, when you turned your back on the huntress, her blessing had been revoked. However, with practice, you've learned how to access the residual magic, the muscle memory, of those blessings. This grants you an added .5 bonus to two of your weaponry skills. Meaning you will have the upper hand fighting anyone with the same mastery level as you. (i.e at level 3 mastery of sword facing off another with level 3 sword, you actually read at level 3.5, giving you an upper hand.) However, you shall certainly loose against one who still retains the goddess' favor.
