Personality overall Caroline, now free from the device that once regulated her thoughts, memories, and emotions, is now a woman who struggles with her true self; she has been someone else for eight years, though that’s not entirely accurate either. It’s all very confusing, and puts no small amount of mental strain on the former agent. She is no longer the stiff and humorless woman the government forced her to be, but she’s been without real emotions for so long that she’s having a tough time acclimating; it’s difficult to remember how to behave in social situations, or how to control one’s emotions, but she’s making progress. Still, the struggle, combined with her more recent life experiences, makes for many awkward moments when talking to her socially. Until she gets comfortable and regains her confidence in these situations, she’s a woman of few words. The biggest change in her personality is the shifting of her anger. Where once she was indoctrinated to believe the worst of magi, and was a fearless and famous killer of them, she now remembers her past; her mother raised her to be good to magi, and to not judge them. Now, she knows that magi aren’t her enemy, but the government and hunters who took her life from her; those are now the targets in her sights. She is a revenge-minded woman, and will grant no mercy to hunters. Her anger, however, is tempered by regret and guilt; these two emotions plague her daily, as she vividly remembers the amount of pain, suffering, and deaths she inflicted upon them, and how she worked to drive them to extinction. She is on an endless quest for justice and her own personal redemption, but that path is a futile attempt to fill the bottomless void that will always remain within her. But she is not a woman who quits, and so it is her number one motivation for leading her life. Some help by feeding, rebuilding, healing; but for so long Caroline only knew how to fight; that is the only way she feels she can help. She struggles too with feelings of uselessness; she was, after all, only a tool for so long, easily manipulated and forced into what was basically indentured servitude. She is an ex-soldier who doesn’t see any other worth to herself. Killing is all she feels she is good for, and now that she is regaining her old self back, she is self-conscious- even with her freedom, her talents and body form a personal prison. Magic still makes her uneasy, and fire still brings back unpleasant memories. Her PTSD flashbacks from her night of burning have lessened in intensity, but can sometimes still affect her if she’s around too much fire. She continues to dislike the runic university due to their involvements with the guild, and still believes bionics are making mistakes with their bodies (though she is more open-minded on the matter now). She still has remnants of her false personality; she is suspicious-minded, but is trying to relax with that now, and she is still an extremely focused individual, though now it is no longer brainless tunnel-vision, but rather a drive to complete her goals. She still has a bad habit of trying to be a loner, but now that she can feel loneliness, it’s much more difficult to avoid people; unfortunately, she believes she is not worth peoples’ time, and does not deserve positive things in her life after what she’s done. This conflicts with her human desires for friendship and affection, causing more internal struggle. [/PTab={background-color:#f0f0f0;width:530px;height:535px;padding:10px;padding-top:0px;margin-top:-6px;}] [PTab=APPEARANCE] appearance The most notable thing about Dullahan is that her head is intended to separate from the body around the middle of the neck; this is due to her special government-prototype chassis, which has a unique, powerful wireless connection, which allows her to control her body as if her head was still on. Aside from that, she appears as a normal human being. She stands at 5'9” and is athletically built. She may get stares in a human city or town due her eyepatch (most people just get cybernetic replacements), or possibly due to her long, purple hair, which is a permanent color of the realistic (but ultimately synthetic) hair; it is her favorite color, as it was her mother’s favorite, too. Her face is blank and serious, with a slight frown. You can tell she used to be some sort of cop or investigator; she just has that look about her. Her makeup- eyeliner and subtle purple eyeshadow- is a permanent feature. Her hygiene is as well as you can expect from someone living in a forest; fortunately synthetic skin, teeth, and hair are easy to take care of. During a prolonged fight, her stoic demeanor becomes increasingly unhinged; she gets a mad look in her eye, snarls, bares her teeth; it's almost animal-like, as if she's fueled by nothing but instinct and fury. Fashion Her only fashion sense is some sort of mix between "On-duty agent" and "casual but cautious detective." She has black combat boots, loose-fit black or dark-blue jeans, and a trunk full of black or purple tank tops; it’s all plain and meant to be comfortable while fighting or running. She doesn't own any makeup, style her hair a specific way, or shop around. Clothes to her are meant only to be functional. Since making her home in Arecia woods, she constantly wears a cloak about her person. It serves to keep the rain away and conceal her identity somewhat. When looking for hunters or in bad weather, she keeps the hood up and over herself (Even when her head is detached. She finds it really adds to the intimidation factor). She leaves it off when she’s feeling safe, so her body can recharge on the solar energy. Her father supported them, her mother did not, and they were both verbal and hard-headed about it. They split up when Caroline was eight, after her sister was born; her mother did not want her children growing up racist, filled with hatred and fear. Her mother was sort of an emissary for the Magi; she often visited camps, and did what she could to repeal the law. She taught Caroline about acceptance, love, and respect; Caroline loved it! It made so much sense to her young mind. Unfortunately, a small rebellion during one of her camp visits turned into a hostage situation, where she was killed in crossfire when the hunters decided to use force on them. Recently, it came to light that her mother died while protecting magi from unlawful and unjust use of force, though Caroline was initially led to believe the original story.She had to stay with her father, who told her that it was the Magi who murdered her mother. Between that shock and her father's influence/job position, Caroline grew up and became a government agent, who worked closely with the hunters. Her combat expertise and ability to think and react under pressure exceeded her father's strict standards, and she rose through the ranks. Often, she was tasked with relocation camp surveillance; check on the hunters, ensure cooperation and compliance with government regulations, and train newly stationed recruits. The conditions of the camps disgusted her; they were cruel and inhumane, to say the least. It was all she could do to do her job and get away. She knew her mother would be ashamed of her for doing nothing, but orders were orders, and Magi were dangerous.... right? If they could bring themselves to kill her mother, they could turn on anyone. What was supposed to be a routine surveillance check took an explosive turn; she was at a camp when rebellion erupted. The fire magi set the camp ablaze before anyone had time to react. Caroline was caught in the middle and had to make a mad dash through the inferno in order to have any chance at survival. She escaped the main blaze, but at substantial cost; her body was burnt to the bone almost everywhere. For the rest of that night, long after the magi successfully won the fight and retreated, Caroline sat there, smoldering, unable to even scream the horrible pain that wracked her entire body. She was certain she was dead, and wished for it during each agonizing minute. She couldn't move, she couldn't stay unconscious for more than a few moments, she couldn't cry; she could only sit there and burn. Fortunately, during the night, a small rainstorm happened upon her, bringing her relief from the endless burning. Not long after, the hunters who came to inspect the camp found her alive, and sent her back to Felici. A miracle, they said. Anyone else would have died from shock. Even the damage to her brain wasn't function-inhibiting. They were able to transfer her mind, which was the only thing worth salvaging, into a unique type of chassis; the “Dullahan” model, which allowed the head to be disconnected from the body and maintain control, due to wireless networking. Unknown to her, they also took the liberty of installing a new prototype brain augmentation: the EMSS – Emotion and Memory Suppression System. This was the start of turning her into a weapon, all under the supervision- and approval- of her father. This system needed some extra room in the cranial cavity, and so an eye would have to be removed.
Between the EMSS, the trauma, and carefully picked stories and lies fed to her by her father, Caroline was filled with hatred of Magi, a desire to eliminate them, and a sense of duty to the government who employs her. Her memories before that traumatic night are either suppressed or heavily fragmented; all her old desires, goals, and thoughts are jumbled and hidden in her head, and her old thoughts and feelings tend to clash with her new self, causing her constant internal turmoil and shame. Now she works as a field agent for the government under the name “Dullahan,” alongside her partner, tirelessly hunting Magi in order to protect the people and sate her desire for revenge.
Her life changed when a magi pickpocket by the name of Tori Vorlan tried to stop her from killing a civilian magi. Tori died, but not before driving a knife into her head, where the EMSS was positioned. Fortunately for her, Maevia Inclemens had her under watch (As she had been working with Caroline to uncovered the truth about what happened when she was rebuilt), and brought her to a nearby clinic for emergency surgery.
With aid from Luca Burke and intervention from Maevia, the truth of the EMSS came to light and was successfully removed. All of her thoughts and memories came flooding back to her, and after some time recovering from the mental suckerpunch, she took a deep look at who she was, both before the fire and after. She was filled with disgust and rage, both at herself and at the people whom she dedicated her life to for eight years, without even a hint of questioning or faltering. It was time to take the rest of her life into her own hands.
She confronted and killed her father for what he did to her, and the lies he fed. She abandoned the government and hunter’s guild, taking off to make her home in Arecia woods. She adopted the last name of the magi she killed, both as a reminder for her own crimes and an unworthy thanks for giving her an opportunity to live once more. Now she is on a path of both revenge and redemption; she protects magi to repent for her past sins, and kills all hunters who seek magi in the woods as vengeance for what their organization did to her. They took her life, and now she would take theirs, along every misguided fool who joins them.

Default Skills - Unarmed IImpuls-Tanzen: A subset of a larger martial art style developed specifically for androids, bionics, and hosted humans. The art is focused on making use of cyborg's innately superior stamina, strength, and pain tolerance, as well as incorporating built-in weapons
Impuls-Tanzen in particular is a very offensive-minded art that depends on striking while constantly moving, which is possible due to the inherent stamina of cyborgs. The idea is to incorporate strikes into a flowing momentum, and attempt to create openings for attacks by unbalancing the opponent. It is most related to modern boxing or wing-chun. Most practitioners use shotgun-like shells incorporated into their hands or wrists to make all punches deadly and even making disengaging risky, as they could be shot while backing off. These shells tend to be a small 28ga or, for people who may not be able to handle the recoil, such as mostly-human bionics or humans with a wrist-mounted weapon, a .410 bore is also widely used. As one might imagine, even a single small shotgun shell at point-blank range can be fatal.
(Non-gunners: 12ga is the most common today. 28ga and then .410 are smaller and smaller.)

Purchased weaponry levels Unarmed Combat II: You have improved in this skill and can accomplish more impressive feats in the fighting technique you've chosen for your character. You are now also able to defend yourself better against melee weaponed attacks. Unarmed Combat III: You are extremely talented in unarmed combat within the field that you have chosen to study in. Not only are you more able to defend yourself against melee weaponed attacks but you have a high chance in getting your opponent in dropping their weapon as well if given the chance (the fumble concept also applies to firearms as well). Maevia is a paranoid, secretive, and brilliant woman. She is the main representative of the information broker, Anansi, for Dagos operations. She prefers to work from her unmarked “bunker,” which she has thoroughly secured from discovery, invasion, and hacking attempts (many thanks to a certain entity). It is the only place she feels secure. But she is sometimes out and about in public, meeting with agents, observing, and sometimes even doing some investigative work. She keeps her identity extremely well-hidden.
When she does need to venture out, either for business or things such as groceries, buying new puzzles and books, she tries to keep a low profile; doesn't fuss, doesn't call attention to herself, and lets everyone thing she's just a harmless young women, who couldn't afford anything but recycled cyborg parts. When she interacts with a person, she analyzes everything about them, and creates a fake persona to match; are you a kind soul? Well, so is she! Are you cynical? Yeah man, she agrees.
Anansi, the information broker, is her employer. Nobody knows who this entity really is, but often times people default to “he.” Popular claims include that he doesn’t exist, or he’s actually a government spying black ops, or he’s a direct agent of either Irilys or Kupiec, or an incredibly powerful AI. People do not deal with him directly, or know where he is located; even Maevia, who is effectively his 2nd in command, knows very little. What she does know is that he seems to have a limitless pool of resources available to him, and gives her whatever she needs to complete a task.
FRIENDS Likely, you will get along great, should you get the chance to speak to her. This, of course, is due to her putting on an act for you, as she does for everyone. If she considers you a friend, it’s because you have something useful to her. She’ll definitely chat with you, and loves talkative people. If she finds you particularly useful, she may even spend time with you. The number of actual friends she has can be counted on a single hand. It’s unlikely you’ll be one of them.ENEMIES You’re unlikely to be her enemy, as she operates with total neutrality for most business. Information goes to whoever pays for it; it’s nothing personal. However, if she views you as a threat to her network or Anansi, or you have double-crossed her, expect her to bring the full brunt of her power (and Anansi's) to crush every aspect of your life. Agents who betray her or her boss will skyrocket to the top of this list. LOVERS You must like your partners with a sense of mystery, or fumbling and awkward. Maevia does get lonely sometimes, but never really considered romance as an option; this is new territory for her, and it shows. She will also find that she is only attracted to females in this way. Expect a long, difficult journey with periods of zero contact. She’ll research things about you and about relationships, so also expect a lot of awkward and stereotypical things, like flowers and deadpan-delivered compliments. She will be nervous and frightened, and never reveal much about herself. She’ll be as unbalanced as a high-schooler with her first crush. Being this close to someone without manipulating them for information or favors is something she’s never done. Also, expect problems you complain about to be mysteriously solved (example: complain about student loan debt, and randomly it disappears a month later). Even if she falls for you, she won’t have any interest in being sexual. Agents Do you want a job where you can go about your life as normal most of the time, with excellent pay and unmatched benefits? Anansi always has a need for agents, and Maevia will be your coordinator. You will be provided a detailed list of rules and duties should you choose this route, but here is what you can expect: Mostly, your life won’t change. You’ll be expected to be observant and send information to Maevia on a daily or semi-daily basis; no details are too small. Send your coworker’s schedules, reports of conversations you’ve had or heard, names, numbers, addresses, anything ((We can assume this; no need to write it all out all the time if you don't want)). Maevia may call on you to report or discover something very specific, and you are expected to prioritize this unless otherwise stated. Nobody will know you work for her, and you should not tell or hint to anyone that you do. Everything is unofficial. You should also expect that she will keep a careful eye on you.
For compensation, you should expect excellent wages, information at no cost (at Anansi’s discretion), access to a network of favors owed, and solutions to problems you may have (crushing debt, a place to live, medical care for a loved one, etc.) This is a good option to solve various problems you may have as a history, or trouble you get into. It also gives you an edge on any competition you may have. This agency status really is not made to affect who your character is, and not limit you; it's very free-form and really serves as an ongoing way to plot.
Clients So you need something from her. No information is too unimportant for her to know. And if she doesn’t know it already, she will find out. You’ll have to listen close for rumors on how to reach her; the black market and redlight districts no doubt have someone who can tell you. Contact is short and done either remotely, at her physical location in the market, or, rarely, in a public place and time of her choosing.. She may even contact you first, offering something you desperately need.
What can you offer as payment? Information is expensive. Money always talks. You may also offer up information in exchange, which can lower or nullify the monetary cost, depending how good it is. And if you have neither, you may be able to offer up a few favors (for example, if you’re a mechanic, you may get a message saying to fix a vehicle for no cost [and no questions], or if you’re a combat expert, you may be called to do a hit, or if you’re a professor, you may be asked to alter some grades, etc.) This is a "I did you a solid, you did this for me, and now we're even). If you don’t hold up your end of the bargain when called upon, expect a very difficult life.

ProfileCadence Avia is a diminutive air magi (and accidental necromancer) with a talented set of lungs. Perhaps you know her by her performer name, "Little Crow," especially if you're a Dagos resident. Perhaps you've seen her squatting with the homeless in the slums, or singing to birds in the park, or visiting Arithelia's shrines. She also flies around to Camlorn and Arecia woods quite often. FRIENDS Cadence loves having friends, and will find the good in just about anybody. She is a relentless font of positivity, energy, and love. She can make friends with … mostly anyone, and VERY quickly. You may need to take a few steps to prove yourself if you're an active hunter, or known for violence. She's the mom friend who checks on you and legitimately cares when she asks "How are you?" If you're a gentle soul, you'll get along great. If you're the violent type, she'll probably try to dissuade you from that path before getting closer to you. She's your friend for life, and will support you through thick and thin, and help you however she can, even if it means risking herself. If you hang around where she performs, you may as well say hi and have a chat. You might even understand why she sings with such dedication. Also, Little Crow would love to know another music lover, and isn't stuck on just being a solo performer. If she can feel the music you make, you can form a little duet or group. Prepare to have her treat you as a best friend or family. As long as she gets to play, and sing, she's more than happy to share the spotlight. She's not in it for fame or money anyway, so there might be a bit of tension if you are. As well, if you can offer her a way to move up in the world, and perform at larger venues, she'd love to work with you. ENEMIES You must be pretty awful if she considers you an enemy. Active hunters, murderers, criminals, and absurdly selfish people can make this list if they try. She really won't do anything about it, but if you start looming around her and frightening her, she does have friends and fans to hide behind. If you're a real douche and want to hurt her, hey, I guess you found an easy target! Or… what SEEMS to be one, anyway. Caroline Vorlan (Formerly Caroline Enthaupten, aka “Dullahan”) is an ex-agent of the government, recently freed from their mind-altering implant. Instead of aiding hunters, she now lurks in Arecia woods, hunting them as readily as they hunt magi; she seeks revenge on them for stealing her life and her humanity, and wishes to make up for her horrific crimes against magi. She is learning how to handle having emotions and memories once more, and figuring out what life has to offer besides fighting.
FRIENDS She’s a bit awkward and hard to find, living a somewhat hermit lifestyle. She’s open to meeting new people, especially magi, even if she’s… still trying to adjust to social cues and situations. Friendship is not going to happen in the foreseeable future if you’re a hunter or slaver or anything of the sort. If you happen to be out in the woods and are someone she wouldn’t kill on sight (see the previous sentence), you may run into her.ENEMIES She has a vendetta against the hunter’s guild and the corrupt employees of the government who enable them. If you’re a hunter, you’re an enemy, and being Caroline’s enemy is dangerous. She’s loud, brash, scrappy, and one of the most brilliant up-and-coming scientists in the world. She’s also a bleeding heart and something of an alcoholic; It’s never a dull moment with Diya around. FRIENDS If you can deal with her snarky attitude and aggressive energy, Diya is easy to get along with. If you’re an asshole, she’s not interested, and will probably reprimand you. If you’re boring, she’s not going to care; she’s a woman on the go, curious, energetic, and impulsive. If you can appeal to that, or her intelligence, you can get along just fine. If you’re a good person, she’s loyal to a fault and will fight anyone who messes with you. If you’re a good person who helps people, or needs help, expect her to be your new Big Sister. Cops and authority figures need not apply. Hunters would be a hard sell, too, considering she thinks your organization is bullshit. Magi and Cyborgs are cool. ENEMIES Enemies are as common as friends for her. Mostly she hates jerks and bullies, and anyone who tries to impose restrictions on anyone, but especially her. Cops, politicians, hunters… she views you all as corrupt and unless you can prove you’re not, she’ll dislike you on principle. Once she decides she hates you, it’s gonna take a lot to undo that. She is not afraid to throw down, either. She may be a scientist but she can bar-brawl with the best of them. LOVERS Pfffffff that’s a new one. She’s not opposed to the idea of a relationship, it’s just that the former isn’t something she has a great deal of experience with, and she’s not a “romantic.” She can be hard to love, prone to outbursts, and is afraid to let people in, but if you can convince her to try, you’ll have someone fiercely loyal to you who will do her best to love. Just don’t expect poetry. Or, do expect it, but expect it to be awful. She’s actually not really into the casual game anymore. It’s fine now and then but she’s getting tired of it. She doesn’t quite realize that she’d prefer something more stable in her life rather than flings. ulla [attr="class","top"] [attr="class","bottom"] about 173. Water Magi. Lesbian. Governor and Religious Leader of Haven. ProfileCherche is the governor of Haven and its spiritual leader. She is a kind, devout, and fun old woman who enjoys socializing and puts her people before all else. FRIENDS Cherche is a very kind and gentle soul, a fair governor, and a social grandma. If you live in Haven, it’s likely she’s spoken to you about the weather or about things you’re interested in. The only magi that have a hard time being friends with her are the MLM members who disagree with her message of peace and opposition to war. If you are a hunter, there is no chance of friendship. If you are a human or a cyborg, it’s extremely unlikely she’ll be anything beyond “civil” with you. If you are a magi, it’s almost impossible not to get along with her. Her kindness is not a display; she often takes tea with citizens, watches the children, and always makes time for social visits. ENEMIES Harm magi and you’re on her shitlist. She may preach peace and patience but she is a capable woman who has no tolerance for those who hunt or harm her people. Otherwise, it’s hard to say she has “enemies” but she will be apprehensive to the terrorist magi (not for hurting humans, but for putting her people’s live at risk for the sake of selfish vengeance) and all non-hunting humans and cyborgs. She does not trust outsiders. LOVERS She may be old but she’s not out of the game. She’s had time to mourn her wife and is open to the idea of romance once more. It’s not something she’s seeking out but if it happens to happen, well, she’s going to go with the flow. She’s getting too old to play games like all the young people so expect her to get right to it rather than bat her lashes and shyly flirt.
