[attr="class","post"] [attr="class","text-lyrics"]I'll sing it forever Despite Cadence’s earlier displays of clumsiness, the magi was graceful in the air. Just like a bird, she could glide and turn, make soft landings and do rolls in the air. She was no stranger to the forest, and had an easy time watching for errant branches. Once the trees were more crowded, she stayed grounded, trying to keep in step with Fiamma. “Okay! Hmm, which song…” She said, trailing off as she spoke to herself. She tilted her head to the left, then to the right, and repeated the pattern as she mouthed “no,” to each song idea that presented itself. “Hm, hm, hmmmm… Oh! Okay, I’ve got one.” She cleared her throat with a dainty little ahem-hem, and hummed up and down a few scales as a warm-up. She closed her eyes as she walked along, suddenly moving with a slow grace instead of her awkward plodding. She chose a song that carried long and beautiful notes, befitting the serenity of the forest. One that sang not only of loneliness, but of hope, searching, and … being found. It seemed fitting to sing for the woman who seemed to struggle with such things. (Song Link!)The song carried far and long, as if the wind itself wanted to bring her words throughout the whole of Arecia. Despite her small stature, her voice was as solid as stone and soft as her feathers. When her last note faded out, she opened her eyes, blinked a few times, and smiled at Fiamma. She cleared her throat once more and exhaled slowly, relieved to have a full breath in her lungs once more. “Whew, I forgot that one wasn't so easy on the lungs,” she said with a laugh. Once that faded, the air was silent, filled only with the rustling of leaves and faint animal calls. She ran her hands together, suddenly feeling very... nervous. “Ah... so, er, what did you think?” [attr="class","text-lyrics"]Always on my lips you will dance so sweetly the leviathan @ GS & BRSW[newclass=.icon-bg]padding:10px;border:1px solid #000;height:100px;width:100px;margin-right:10px;[/newclass][newclass=.iconhere]-moz-transition: all 0.9s ease-in-out;-webkit-transition: all 0.9s ease-in-out;-o-transition: all 0.9s ease-in-out;[/newclass][newclass=.iconheres]-moz-transition: all 0.9s ease-in-out;-webkit-transition: all 0.9s ease-in-out;-o-transition: all 0.9s ease-in-out;opacity: 0;[/newclass][newclass=.iconheres:hover]-moz-transition: all 0.9s ease-in-out;-webkit-transition: all 0.9s ease-in-out;-o-transition: all 0.9s ease-in-out;opacity:1;[/newclass][newclass=.notestxt]padding-top:20px;font:small-caps 10px 'Times New Roman',serif;color:#fff;text-align:justify;padding:10px;overflow:auto;[/newclass][newclass=.text-lyrics]display:inline-block;font: italic 9px/100% Times New Roman,serif;text-align:center;letter-spacing:1px;width:80%;border-bottom:1px solid #000;line-height:0.1em;margin:10px 0 20px;margin-left:30px;[/newclass][newclass=.text-lyrics span]background:#fff;padding:0 10px;[/newclass] [newclass=.post]font:11px Times New Roman,serif;color:#1c1c1c;padding:0px 20px 0px 0px;height:350px;width:330px;text-align:justify;overflow:auto;line-height:130%;position:relative;margin-top:-400px;margin-left:100px;[/newclass][newclass=.post::-webkit-scrollbar-track]border:1px solid #000;background-color:#fff;[/newclass][newclass=.post::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background-color:#000;[/newclass][newclass=.post::-webkit-scrollbar]width:4px;background-color:#fff;[/newclass]

[attr="class","foreign"] [attr="class","dust"] [attr="class","gold"]words: 461 [attr="class","gold"]u tried fiamma. and oops you're right about that, I can post my next response into a new thread. [attr="class","sun"]A Foreign Sun * I never thought I'd see So she was really going through with it. ...alright.
Fiamma was dutifully silent throughout Cadence's process of deciding what to sing and there was still not a peep out of her when the other magi's voice began to filter out in song. Have to be a good audience, right? Her gaze remained focused ahead to keep stock of the path— even though that wasn't really necessary since she'd walked it dozens of times already —but the fire magi's ears were keenly focused on the melody, the lyrics and tune of it, as the pair continued on through the forest. It was... soothing, that's for sure. A sound that meshed harmoniously with the peace of nature in each rising and falling note and, frankly, left Fiamma impressed. Sure she didn't have much experience with singers to go on sizing up Cadence's skills, yet it was rather easy to tell when something just sounded nice to your ears. She was very content to have it as part of the backdrop of their trek.
Cadence's comment dragged a laugh out of Fiamma, one less restrained and tinkling with bright happiness. ❝I thought it was beautiful.❞ Or— wait, that wasn't what she'd meant to say. ...at least not so honestly. Fiamma's cobalt eyes widened marginally as if surprised that that had actually come out of her mouth (which was exactly the case) and she pressed her lips together in a thin line before electing to give a short, forced cough.
❝I mean——❞ No don't take it back that's a terrible decision. ❝Yeah it was, nice. You can... definitely sing, um, thank you for that? Fuck. No actually just ignore me and everything I'm saying.❞ A rough, aggravated grunt intermingled with her next exhale and she lifted a hand to pinch at the bridge of her nose, making an effort to hide the flush that had crept up into her cheeks until she could will it away. The pinkish hint of color still lingered when she dropped her digits back to a normal arrangement and Fiamma was left warring with the decision to keep mentally berating herself or just try to forget that that whole mess had just come out of her mouth. Eventually, she settled on a gusty sigh before turning her head enough to toss a glance and half ways smile, quietly apologetic, towards Cadence. ❝Sorry. I did like it.❞
It's a good thing that they were only a few minutes from her home by now. Fiamma could distract herself with putting all her equipment away and then throw her attention towards the search for the peach grove, making an excuse to stop thinking about that spectacular burst of awkwardness. Maybe all the hermit-y solitude was finally catching up with her social skills. Ugh. [attr="class","post"] [attr="class","text-lyrics"]I'll sing it forever Cadence tilted her head at the flustered Magi as she stumbled over complimenting her song. She was silent for a moment, but that quickly gave way to a long exhaling snort that melded into a sing-song little laugh. Oh goodness, she felt bad for it, but couldn’t help it. It was cute, and made her feel more comfortable that she wasn’t the only one falling over herself today. She felt herself blush as she saw Fiamma turn red, and looked away with a little smile on her face. “Thank you,” she said. “It means a lot to hear that. Sometimes I wish I could do more than sing for people, but if they like listening as much as I like singing, well, I’m happy to keep going.” She didn’t know what else to add. She didn’t want to drag the subject to a more melancholy path; she felt that Fiamma was starting to enjoy her company. At least, she hoped so. Plus, she wanted to hear the girl laugh again; it was a pretty sound when it wasn’t tepid or short. Maybe she would leave her alone after they got to the grove, though, if she wanted her to go. Despite her worries, her mouth kept going, eager to fill the silence. “I’d be happy to sing you another, sometime,” she said. “O-or you could come see me in Dagos! If you, ah, don’t mind the city so much. I actually have a pretty big one coming up!” She wrung her hands together thinking about it. She was nervous, and it showed in her wavering voice. “Like, downtown. Not at a little bar or club or on the street like normal. I think it’s at … oh what was… a ca-si-no? I think that’s the word.” She sighed and rubbed her arms. “I’m not sure I’m ready for such a big place. What if I’m not good enough?” She jumped up a bit and waved her hands frantically. “Ah! Sorry I didn’t mean to go on, there, I, ah… Oh! Is that your cabin?” She asked, pointing ahead at a building. Her expression shifted from worry to childlike excitement. If it was, she would follow Fiamma in quietly, like a lost pup, and then wait for her to be ready to go out and explore the woods. [attr="class","foreign"] [attr="class","dust"] [attr="class","gold"]words: 649 [attr="class","gold"]sure thing! ouo [attr="class","sun"]A Foreign Sun * I never thought I'd see A heavy sigh— oozing a sense of both relief and weariness —left Fiamma's lips at that. Cadence's laughter didn't exactly help to calm the lingering heat in her cheeks, but she could handle swallowing down the embarrassment without much fuss. At least the other magi didn't seem put off by her... clumsy attempt at a compliment. Yeah she really wasn't too great at that. ❝Ah, good. It's nice to have something that you like doing. Being good at it also helps.❞ She replied with clarity that was only slightly above a mumble in caliber.
Well, on the upside that little slip up seemed to be falling into the irrelevant past. When she woke up a few hours ago Fiamma really hadn't been expecting to run into company while out and about, much less get into an extended conversation and then lead the person back to her house, so it was strange to reflect on the situation she now found herself in. She was sort of winging it— the whole 'be sociable and possibly make a friend' thing. And enjoying it? Mostly? Fiamma would have preferred to leave out the whole awkward exchange of two minutes ago, but otherwise she really did like hearing the air magi's song; Cadence as a whole wasn't half bad to be around, either. It was nice to have someone fill the silence she often let hang in place.
❝A casino?❞ The word rang a few vague bells (summoning up a picture in her mind's eye of bright lights and crowds and gold exchanging hands) but it wasn't as if she'd visited one herself. Fiamma's attention was drawn in far more by Cadence's demeanor when she spoke about performing there, though, and her expression once again settled to become unreadable as she hummed a short note. Stick herself willingly among the crowded city for the sake of watching Cadence perform. What a dilemma. ❝I don't like the cities. ...but that doesn't stop me from having to drop by occasionally, for supplies. I think I'll be needing some things soon so, yeah, I guess I could drop by then.❞ The words coming out of her own mouth— treacherous things that they were —kindled a flicker of surprise from Fiamma. She wasn't about to take them back, though.
❝From what I heard, I think you'll be fine. But, well, does being a magi ever... make performing difficult? Drawing attention to yourself in a city—?❞
She didn't get the chance to clarify any further because, lo and behold, that was indeed her house peeking through the gaps in the trees up ahead. It wasn't anything impressive: just a quaint looking wood cabin with a patched up roof, a few windows cracked and worn looking, and trees reaching their branches toward the walls as if to hide it from prying eyes. There may have been a sign over the doorway once, but the years had worn the letters away. Not even Fiamma's parents had had any idea how old this place was when they found it. ❝I'll just put this stuff away.❞ The fire magi quickly swapped topics once she noticed that they'd arrived and made to ascend the short three steps (which creaked under her weight) to the door. The locking mechanism probably broke a long time ago and, really, it would be easy enough to kick the door down if you were eager to break in, but she'd set up a padlock on it just for peace of mind's sake. The location of the house was protection in itself.
Fiamma barely had to walk two feet inside to set down her fishing equipment in the proper place and the fire magi was back outside in no time at all, re locking the door with a small key that was promptly shoved into her pocket so that she could meander back towards Cadence. ❝You're in the lead now.❞ [newclass=.gold]background-color:#fff;padding:2px;border-left:#222e8e 10px solid;font-family:century gothic;font-size:10px;color:#121b5e;width:120px;margin-top:10px;opacity:0;transition: 1s all;text-align:left;[/newclass] [newclass=.dust]-webkit-filter: grayscale(1); filter: grayscale(1);transition: 1s all;[/newclass] [newclass=.sun]-webkit-filter: grayscale(1); filter: grayscale(1);transition: 1s all;[/newclass] [newclass=.foreign:hover .dust]-webkit-filter: grayscale(0); filter: grayscale(0);transition: 1s all;[/newclass] [newclass=.foreign:hover .gold]opacity:1;transition: 1s all;[/newclass] [newclass=.foreign:hover .sun]-webkit-filter: grayscale(0); filter: grayscale(0);transition: 1s all;[/newclass] [newclass=.foreign ::-webkit-scrollbar]background-color:#fff;width:1px;[/newclass] [newclass=.foreign ::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background-color:#666;width:1px;[/newclass] [googlefont=La Belle Aurore]
