See the line where the sky meets the sea; It calls me. It had been a while now since Luca had moved into Surai's household. And yes, she had finally gotten his name out of the Magi himself. Er, ok maybe not her herself, but her kids had. Mainly because they insisted upon learning the Magi friend's name from the very moment he had appeared in the orphanage with Surai. Kids had this way of being awfully persistent until they got what they wanted. Which, in this case, they definitely had. She'd been right after all. As Surai had been trying her best to help Luca acclimate to being regarded as a living, breathing, free person again, the children had definitely helped. Luca had swiftly become adored by the children who had, as Surai predicted, taken to him with all the open love only kids could give. He was now the highly esteemed and demanded for "Mr. Luca" whom Surai happily would bring along if Luca was so inclined. This time though she herself had asked if he would come along. "We were planning on watching a movie tonight with the kids and I know they would just love it if you came too."Which was why she was heading back to the orphanage with Luca in tow. One of her coworkers had already brought the movie they were going to watch, so all they needed to do was show up ready for watching. It was a nice little event they did fairly often to bond with the kids. Because if their was one thing they wanted to do, it was make the kids still at the orphanage feel like they still had a family. Give them that level of important affection and love that they should have had but was taken from them. Once they reached their destination Surai opened the door and headed inside. And was immediately beset upon by some of her children already. But once Luca came into view, it was like a dam opened. " Mr. Luca!" became the quickly spreading word as kids filed out of the movie room to essentially glom onto the Magi with a flurry of chatter. "Are you excited for the movie Mr. Luca?" "Have you seen it before? It's my favorite!" "I wanna sit with you!" "No I do!" "I already called it!" "Children please!" Surai's voice cut through with a laugh. "You can all sit with Mr. Luca if you want and he's ok with it, but if we don't go sit down we'll miss the movie anyways!" Which was then how Luca ended up being pulled by six or seven pairs of hands to start going towards the movie room, being herded by a gaggle of kids both Magi and human. 462 WORDS FOR Luca Burke ― Bring on the horde of tiny people

[attr="class","ig"] [attr="class","kikan"] Visiting the orphanage had become something of a staple in Luca’s routine since first being picked up by Surai, and one he had quickly become quite grateful for. The children were all so bright and happy, and since his first introduction to them it had become easier and easier for the mood to rub off on him, as well. Between that and Surai’s help, he’d slowly come to remember himself and his worth— although given the scars left behind a complete recovery from what he had endured beneath Dagos seemed unlikely. Even so, nights like these made it easy to forget about all that, if only for a little while, and it hadn’t taken much at all to get the young magi to agree to come along. Following along after Surai on a route that had become familiar some time ago, he couldn’t quite keep a faint, eager smile from his lips, and when they reached the door that smile only grew. Right on cue, several youngsters appeared before them the moment they stepped inside, followed quickly by a veritable swarm of them once his presence was made known to the rest. Laughing softly, Luca bent to greet them all, exchanging quiet hello’s and a good number of hugs, too. “I’m very excited,” he answered one, before turning to another to add, “No, I haven’t seen it before, but I’m sure it’s great…“ Fortunately, Surai came to his rescue before any arguments broke out about who sat where, and soon enough he was being pulled along into the movie room. Once there, Luca would take up a spot in the middle of the floor, carefully settling in between the gaggle of little ones determined to remain as close as possible. “So,” he asked no one in particular, casting deep blue eyes over the tiny crowd, “What’s this movie we’re watching?”[newclass=.joker]width: 360px; height: 140px; padding: 20px; background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); -moz-transition: 3s all; -webkit-transition: 3s all; -o-transition: 3s all; transition: 1s all;[/newclass][newclass=.ig:hover .joker]background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.4); -moz-transition: 3s all; -webkit-transition: 3s all; -o-transition: 3s all; transition: 1s all;[/newclass][newclass=.game]text-align:center; line-height: 9px; margin-top:10px;opacity:0;font:bold 10px Roboto; color: #ffffff; text-transform: uppercase; -webkit-transition-duration:.3s;transition-delay: .3s;transition-duration:.3s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass][newclass=.game a]font:bold 17px Roboto; font-weight: 900; color: #ffffff;[/newclass][newclass=.ig:hover .game]margin-top:0px;opacity:1;transition-delay: .3s; -webkit-transition-duration:.3s;transition-duration:.3s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass][newclass=.ninety]width:400px;height:180px;background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/VcCe39g.jpg?1);[/newclass] [newclass=.kikan]width: 65px; height: 65px; border: 1px solid #0; transform: rotate(45deg); z-index: 2; margin-top: -27px; margin-bottom: -39px; filter: grayscale(100%);-webkit-filter: grayscale(100%);-moz-filter: grayscale(100%);[/newclass][newclass=.ig:hover .kikan]filter: grayscale(0%);-webkit-filter: grayscale(0%);-moz-filter: grayscale(0%); transition: 0.6s; transition-timing-function: linear;[/newclass][googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Open+Sans]

See the line where the sky meets the sea; It calls me. While Luca was led out towards the middle of the room by the kids, Surai had to detangle herself from her group to help the other staff get blankets and pillows. Most of the floor had already been covered by a good amount of fluffy cloth; they'd gotten plenty of "donations" from the kids all coming to watch. Plus the orphanage was in no short supply of blankets period. So by the time Surai got back she was currently carrying a mini mountain of soft material to hand out to the kids with another coworker in tow. However she did manage to poke her head out from the large pillowy mass to answer him. "Oh it's a really old one. Here you go." The woman took a second to plop down some of the pillows and blankets to one group of kids (who immediately started debating over who got what) "It's from our boss'- whoops!" There was a pause as she tried to reign in some of the cloth spilling out. "- own collection. His father was a big fan of collecting old movies and whatnot, as was his father before him and... Okay well from what I gathered it's sort of a family tra- ah ah ah! No stealing!" She chided as a little hand reached up to try grabbing at a blanket. It wisely retracted as Surai stared down at the child. But her stern expression smoothed over as she handed them the blanket anyways. "We do not grab; we ask politely, remember? Where was I again?" It took her a few more seconds of moving about to pick up again. "Oh right! yes, so apparently it's some tradition of their family. When he decided to take over running the orphanage, he decided to use the collection- or at least the kid's movies- for movie nights. The quality might not be as great as the ones we have now but... honestly I think I like some of the old ones better." As Surai's handful dwindled away, she eventually came to plop herself down by Luca and his gaggle of kids. The last of her blankets and pillows were handed of to the magi and the kids with them. "This one is... Which one again?""Atlantis!" One of her coworkers called out, fiddling away at the front of the room where a large projector screen was set up. "Right, right. It's about some lost ancient city under the sea that a group of adventures goes to try and find. It's actually pretty good in my opinion. I like the animation style; very pretty. Plus the characters are all funny." Oh the irony about cities under the sea. This was not lost on Surai one bit, but she didn't react to it. Outwardly at least (inside she was snickering). The pillows and blanket she'd been given were arranged so Surai and the few kids who chose to sit with her could sit comfortably. A small, content smile played upon her lips the whole time. "I hope you like it too. The kids all enjoy it.""Do you like movies, Mr. Luca?" "Yeah, which one's your favorite?" "I really like the scene where Milo and Kida-" "Hey! No spoilers!" Surai called out before the last one could finish their sentence. "Mr. Luca hasn't seen this before! ...I think." Surai added on in a slightly lower voice. Blue eyes looked over at Luca. "Have you seen this before?"567 WORDS FOR Luca Burke ― Pass the popcorn, it's movie time soon

[attr="class","ig"] [attr="class","kikan"] Luca twisted where he sat, maneuvering carefully between the children clustered around him to watch Surai while she answered his question. The reply was given in pieces, interrupted by a stumble, then the diversion of a child, but slowly came together to form the full picture. An old movie from a collection, watched as a tradition that he was somehow fortunate enough to be part of, even if it ended up being only for this one night. The young magi smiled at that, settling back in to face the projector screen while he tried to imagine what the film was like based on the description he’d been given. Adventurers looking for a city under the sea… It sounded exciting, to say the least, and if Surai and the little ones all liked it, he was sure he would too. As a fresh torrent of questions came his way, however, Luca’s smile faltered. As much as he wanted to be able to say which movie was his favorite, or whether he liked them to begin with, he couldn’t. Even before his capture, movies had never really been a source of entertainment for him. They were a luxury he could only rarely have afforded, and even then that money was better spent on food and supplies. Never mind the fact that he’d only occasionally stayed in places with televisions at all, even as a child. “I-I, um,” he stammered, suddenly embarrassed as he glanced Surai’s way. “W-well…” How to put it…? “I’ve… never really seen any movies before,” Luca admitted quietly, biting his lip. “… Ever.” [newclass=.joker]width: 360px; height: 140px; padding: 20px; background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); -moz-transition: 3s all; -webkit-transition: 3s all; -o-transition: 3s all; transition: 1s all;[/newclass][newclass=.ig:hover .joker]background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.4); -moz-transition: 3s all; -webkit-transition: 3s all; -o-transition: 3s all; transition: 1s all;[/newclass][newclass=.game]text-align:center; line-height: 9px; margin-top:10px;opacity:0;font:bold 10px Roboto; color: #ffffff; text-transform: uppercase; -webkit-transition-duration:.3s;transition-delay: .3s;transition-duration:.3s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass][newclass=.game a]font:bold 17px Roboto; font-weight: 900; color: #ffffff;[/newclass][newclass=.ig:hover .game]margin-top:0px;opacity:1;transition-delay: .3s; -webkit-transition-duration:.3s;transition-duration:.3s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass][newclass=.ninety]width:400px;height:180px;background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/VcCe39g.jpg?1);[/newclass] [newclass=.kikan]width: 65px; height: 65px; border: 1px solid #0; transform: rotate(45deg); z-index: 2; margin-top: -27px; margin-bottom: -39px; filter: grayscale(100%);-webkit-filter: grayscale(100%);-moz-filter: grayscale(100%);[/newclass][newclass=.ig:hover .kikan]filter: grayscale(0%);-webkit-filter: grayscale(0%);-moz-filter: grayscale(0%); transition: 0.6s; transition-timing-function: linear;[/newclass][googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Open+Sans]

See the line where the sky meets the sea; It calls me. Well Luca, I think you know exactly the sort of response that kind of reply was going to get. Numerous shocked gasps! came from the kids surrounding Luca. That quickly changed into exclaimed questions and protested that ran over each other, rendering it into basically a lot of loud sounds coming from a decently large amount of children. While normally Surai would try to quiet them down, she was kind of shocked at the moment. Luca hadn’t seen movies before? Ever? Back in Pentos Surai didn’t really get much of an opportunity to watch many movies either. Besides, why watch movies when you could step outside and basically find yourself in an action scene out of almost any action film ever? Only the props weren’t, well, props and Surai didn’t exactly have a stunt double to take the dangerous scenes over for her. But Ethea wasn’t that ba- …Well ok it wasn’t that bad all the time at least. (Oh the horrible irony) After the noise kept going on and other kids started joining in without knowing why, Surai eventually shook herself back to the present. ”Alright everybody simmer down! Inside voices!" The woman called out. It only took a few more times (with increasing sternness) before the kids settled once again. Once the sound had faded once more, Surai finally could speak to Luca. ”Well… if you had to pick anywhere to start, then I guess there’s no better place than the classics." She wasn’t about to beat him up for not seeing movies prior to this. One; why would she do that? I mean come on, she’s not that scary. Promise. Second; she’d been there before. So she could understand and help a kindred spirit in need of some guidance through the great (sometimes corny, sappy, edgy, or filled with way too many explosions to logically make sense) world of cinema. ”And if you do like this one, I can think of a few other ones to recommend you. Or even if you don’t like this one, there’s plenty of other genres. Action, mystery, horror, romance, comedy," Each one was ticked off her fingers before she shrugged, ”Frankly there’s way too many, but I think we’ll find something you’d enjoy."They would find something Luca liked, mark her words. The poor man deserved to find something fun and enjoyable to watch after all he’d gone through. 435 WORDS FOR Luca Burke ― Oh you done it now; you know what this means

[attr="class","ig"] [attr="class","ninety"] [attr="class","joker"] [attr="class","game"] Surai Bazzi Figured we could just summarize the movie watching and move on to whatever else we were going to do here [attr="class","kikan"] Although he’d been sure his response was going to elicit some shock, the sheer amount was well beyond what he had originally anticipated. Under numerous wide eyed gazes, Luca shrunk where he sat to a chorus of gasps, eyes dropping to the floor and pale cheeks taking on a tinge of pink. Tail twitching agitatedly near his feet, he took to worrying at the hem of his shirt while the ruckus built around him. Even if he could have found his voice in that moment, he wasn’t sure he could have provided answers to any one from the tangle of questions being asked. Just as he was beginning to wonder if this would last forever, Surai intervened, her voice cutting through the din to quiet everyone down after a few tries. Eventually, as some semblance of peace was restored, he chanced a glance up, side-eyeing the older woman uncertainly. Perhaps mercifully, she didn’t ask why he’d never seen a movie before, or how such a thing was possible, instead offering gentle solutions to the situation. Slowly, a tentative smile appeared on Luca’s features, and he nodded. “I… I think I’d like that,” he responded quietly, hands stilling in his lap. It would be nice to take part in something so utterly ‘normal’ for once, after so many years of lacking the typical, sedentary life most were accustomed to. But before they got too deep into any explorations or plans for marathons, there was this one film to get through first, in the good company of Surai and their many young friends. Gradually becoming excited, the zero magi would settle in to watch as final preparations were made, and the room around them went dark. See the line where the sky meets the sea; It calls me. He was smiling again. Oh thank Irilys. The poor man had looked so panicked for a moment there. The surajan woman couldn't help but been concerned with him. He'd looked far too similar to how he'd looked the first time she met him. That timid look of someone retreating internally... no, she certainly didn't want Luca to revert to that ever again. Not if she could help it. But as she flashed him back a warm and genuine smile, the lights began to dim. With a blink she glanced over towards the brightening projector screen. Oh, guess they were starting already! Fortunately that meant all the kids truly quieted down in order to watch the movie. Something else that made the teacher smile to herself. No matter how many times they saw these movies, no matter how old the graphics might be, the children always got a kick out of them. That, more than anything, was what Surai loved about these little movie nights they had. the movies themselves were entertaining, sure. But letting all these kids have fun together? Getting to bond with everyone like an honest to gods family? It was moments like these that reminded Surai why she was working there in the first place. As she settled in amongst her little kids, her attention turned towards the movie with pure content in her expression. The movie itself really wasn't that bad. Perhaps not near the quality of what today's movies could be, but still. The storyline was interesting. The characters honestly funny. Plus there was something oddly nostalgic about the film that made it fun. The rest of the audience certainly was enthralled by it. Out of the corner of her eyes Surai could catch glimpses of her fellow coworkers in the sea of fascinated kids. Much like her they seemed completely content as they were now. Surai stole a glance at Luca. Was he having fun too? Hopefully so, especially if she wanted to introduce him to even more movies once they finally got home. Ah well, she could find out after. For now she popped some popcorn into her mouth and continued to watch. All in all it was an enjoyable experience Surai was happy to be a part of each time they held it. As the credits rolled across the screen, Surai yawned and stretched. There was a few audible pops! as her joints creaked and groans. Some of the kids were doing so too, and a few others had actually fallen asleep. Would make getting them to bed easier, at least. Thankfully the other workers knew better than to flip on the overhead lights so soon. Instead the title screen provided enough light for them to start moving around. "Alright everyone; time for bed." Surai said, parroted by a few of the other now moving coworkers. A few kids protested, but most (that were awake) were already getting up to go. Surai herself managed to make it up onto her feet. More stretching ensued as she did of course. Her hips definitely popped, and loud enough that she had to wince. "Oh. Jeez, I sound like I'm going to fall apart at the seams here." Chuckled the teacher. Blue eyes turned towards Luca. "So? What do you think? Ah, and could you help us gather up some of the kids please? A few of them dozed off." Surai was already crouching down to carefully pick one of them up; a litle human girl curly up in some of the blankets. The sight brought a soft smile to Surai's face. 617 WORDS FOR Luca Burke ― Summarize it is then! Have some adorable sleepy tater tots instead

[attr="class","ig"] [attr="class","kikan"] Like so many others in the room, Luca found himself wholly enraptured throughout the course of the movie, staring in wide-eyed wonder as the story ran its course. Just for a little while, everything else around him was forgotten, even the popcorn. Every now and then, he would adjust as needed to better accommodate the children clustered around him, but otherwise the young magi did not move over the next hour and a half. Needless to say, he found himself quietly disappointed when the credits appeared on screen, slumping where he sat with a quiet huff. At the same time, though, Luca smiled. Surai had been right— the movie was definitely good, and beautifully crafted besides. He would have loved more, but for now what he’d seen was enough to satisfy. Stretching carefully, as a few of the little ones had fallen asleep against him, the magi carefully pulled himself to his feet while those who remained awake wandered off to their beds. As Surai spoke, his gaze flicked her way, and with a tentative smile he replied, “I take a look at that, if you need me to. Better to have you in one piece.” Carefully gathering the nearest sleeping child into his arms, he went on in a soft murmur, “It was amazing. Really, really amazing.” A wide, genuine smile flickered across his features, just briefly, as he carried his charge off to bed. Once she had been tucked in, he would return for another until the room had been successfully cleared. “How… how often do you have these? The movie nights.” he asked as he returned from helping the second into bed, looking to Surai curiously. After this first experience, he found himself quite eager for more. Hopefully this was a relatively frequent event. See the line where the sky meets the sea; It calls me. A chuckle left the teacher's lips. "Staying in one piece would be preferred, thank you. But don't worry, I haven't run out of duct tape just yet." With a joking wink the woman went about her business of herding a bunch of sleepy kids back to their beds. Working together, however, they could make short work of it. Plus there was no way Surai could possibly complain about cleaning up afterwards when she saw that big ol' smile on Luca's face. The genuineness of the expression made Surai's heart swell with warmth. He was improving. Really, and truly improving. Oh Baba, I'm so glad you told me to do this. He's getting so much better. With that silent prayer sent up, Surai smiled. It was warm and genuine all on its own. "I'm glad you liked it, Luca. Least we know where to start once we get home." She had a few animated movies they could easily binge. Welcome to the glorious world of cinema Luca. There's no going back now. As they put the last of the kids away (her fellow coworkers were also around to help corral the children to bed), Surai thought. "We typically have them at least once per month." The teacher informed him softly as she put another sleeping child into bed. As she put the blanket up other them, she continued. "Usually we try to do activities like these often. Though if we had a movie night each week we'd definitely run out of things to watch without the kids getting tired of them." With the little one tucked in, the teacher excited the room and headed back to the movie room. Time to clean up the extra popcorn and everything else. "It's good for them to have this though. We try our best to make sure they feel like they're still part of a family." Surai didn't mean to get in too deep but, well, it was true. That was the whole reason she was there. To help give these kids what they should have. "And they are in a way. It's just one with lots of brothers and sisters. Which can make it pretty crazy around the holidays when we have dinner, let me tell you. Normal dinner is already a little slice of chaos all its own." With a chuckle Surai moved on. The cleanup process itself wasn't too bad. Sweep the floor; throw out the garbage; collect the leftover blankets and pillows; that sort of thing. Before very long they were finishing up and Surai was saying goodnight to her friends. "I'm really happy you decided to come tonight, Luca." Surai said once they finally headed outside. The teacher turned her head to face the magi with a warm little smile on her face. "You definitely helped make the night for a lot of the kids. They're always excited to see you. Honestly if you wanted I'm sure you'd be welcome to come to any of the little events we have; including movie night." Her smile widened. "Especially since you seemed to enjoy it just as much as my little najmas do."543 WORDS FOR Luca Burke ― We must have a movie binge-watching night

[attr="class","ig"] [attr="class","kikan"] Bit by bit, the sitting room emptied of bodies, until only he, Surai, and a few lingering caretakers remained to pick up the last of the chaos left behind. In that time, Luca remained mostly quiet, but responded every now and then to his friend’s responses with a nod. That movie night didn’t happen every week, or even every other week, as admittedly a bit disappointing, but understandable. Once a month, though, he could most certainly live with. It was still a considerable step up from previous months in which there had been none, after all. Eventually, once the room had been properly cleaned up and the pair of them stepped outside, Luca spoke again, flashing her another small smile. “I’m glad, too,” he murmured, brushing a bit of stray hair from his face. “It was nice to see everyone, and spend time with them…” And if the little ones had particularly enjoyed his presence, so much the better. Being there for them made the young magi happy, too. “I…” He paused, a little surprised for some reason by the offer to continue coming to events at the orphanage, and experiencing a swell of emotion besides. Then, slowly, Luca smiled once more, and nodded eagerly. “I’d like that a lot.” And while he was sure the children would be quite pleased by the news that he would continue to visit, a part of him had to admit that attending events was something he was doing for himself, too. It would be nice, he thought, to share in the feeling of truly having a family every now and then.
