Personality overall
Theron is a character, if nothing else. Cocksure and confident, he walks the streets like he owns them (and in some cases he sort of does), and sarcasm, playful or not, is like a second language to him. Naturally, this gets him into trouble somewhat regularly. He is perhaps surprisingly lighthearted for a criminal, and in general rather likes people. Talkative and social, he's good at making friends and allies because he wants to be as much as needs to be. Connections are valuable, after all, and life would hardly be any fun without at least a few people to mess around with every now and then.
What he lacks in formal education (he's only about as educated as a sophomore in high school), Theron makes up for in street smarts. Over the years, he has gained quite a few skills that are particularly useful in his line of work, and has a good sense of judgment that enables him to navigate business and negotiations with relative ease. He's smart enough not to pick fights he can't win, although he often can't resist the rush of a close call or a wild chase. And despite an overall lack of faith left in the world, he knows good people when he sees them.
A resourceful sort, Theron has a certain skill in finding ways to solve his problems. He's good at talking his way in and out of things, and at making himself scarce when words just won't do. However, he is far from above getting his hands dirty when necessary, and in that regard has a rather twisted sense of morals. While he's perfectly fine with his chosen life of crime, and hurting or killing people when he feels it's necessary or justified, he is generally honest in his deals, and believes in doing right by people. For those who have earned his loyalty, he will go to great lengths, and for those who have his affection he will do just about anything.
Overall, there are very few people he has a genuine distaste for. Cops are annoying, and his competition sometimes causes problems, but none hold so low a place in his mind as Hunters. More often than not, he finds them to be incredibly stupid and blind. He does not understand how someone can hate a person because of their race, and likely never will. Though it is often a dangerous thing to admit, Theron pities the magi, especially for the genocides that have pushed them to such terrible lengths, and will not tolerate any sort of bigotry against them. More recently, he has begun to develop a similar sympathy for cyborgs, too.
He does, however, very much miss his little brother. Secretly, of course. That sort of weakness isn't exactly a thing he can admit to very many people. In part, he blames himself for what happened between them. The other half of the blame, he is inclined to place on religion. While he was never a very devout man to begin with, the conflict with his brother and ongoing issues between Hunters and magi have turned him against worship of any sort. It tends to produce fanatics, after all, and changed his sibling for the worst.

[PTab=APPEARANCE]
shrug off short-sighted false excitement and oh what can I say?
appearance
Theron is a boyish-looking sort, with somewhat soft features that make him seem younger than he is, especially when he smiles. His complexion is a bit on the rougher side-- although he still looks quite a bit better than many from similar backgrounds-- and lightly tanned. Though he does have his fair share of scars, from puckered bullet wounds to slashes of varying size, he has somehow managed not to earn any marks on his face.
He has a head of wild, ashy black hair that seems to be untamable no matter how much he brushes. He doesn't seem to particularly mind, though, and is inclined to allow the somewhat spiky locks to stick out whichever way they please more often than not. For the most part, he keeps his hair relatively short, although his bangs tend to be longer, and often obscure parts of his face. His eyes are a blue gray in color, surrounded by long, dark lashes many women can only dream of having naturally.
In height, Theron is fairly close to average at five feet, eleven inches. Meant to be quick and agile, a once lanky build has since developed into svelte muscle.
Fashion
Theron's preferred fashion tends to shift depending on whatever he happens to be doing. If he is on the job, he often opts for tough fabrics and loose articles that allow for good range of movement and have a good number of pockets (hidden or otherwise) to carry whatever tools and supplies he needs. Boots and gloves with good grip are common, as are sturdy jackets. When it's necessary to make good impressions, he has a few tailored suits at his disposal, with dress shirts and shoes to match. He would rather avoid ties, though, as they make for easy stranglings.
Whatever he wears, he has a strong preference for darker colors, especially black. A staple among his clothing, regardless of style, is a leather shoulder holster to carry the pistols he favors, and a few extra magazines of ammunition.

biography
Theron Lorne was born and grew up in the slums of Dagos city, to one Sera and Artemis Lorne. They survived more than lived there, as his parents barely made enough money for them to scrape by, even before a fourth member was added to their family. At four years old, for his own sake as much as little Orion's, he had to grow up as fast as he could. He became responsible for much of his sibling's upbringing while their parents were away at work. Among other things, he taught Orion to read and write, and it didn't take long for him to become very protective over his younger brother.
It didn't take long for him to discover there was something special about his little brother, either. Although Theron himself was an average student at best, Orion proved to be an extremely bright child. So Theron came to a decision; even if it meant giving up on whatever chances he had, his brother was going to make it out of the slums, and have a good life elsewhere.
At the age of fifteen, Theron dropped out of school, in order to find a job to help his family make ends meet. Ultimately, he found work with a group of local Downer runners as a courier. In it's own way, it was an educational experience. While Orion studied literature and science, he learned to lie and cheat, to pick locks as well as pockets, and hijack vehicles. By necessity, he had to learn quickly, lest he get himself killed. All the while, he pushed his sibling, urging him to study hard and earn good marks. No matter how far he had to fall, Orion was going to make it.
And make it Orion did. Theron was beyond thrilled to learn that, straight out of high school, his brother had been accepted into the Runic University in Felici-- on scholarship, no less. Not long after, at the age of twenty-two, he moved to Felici himself, in order to remain close to his sibling. Of course, his black market days were far from behind him, and he has been in and out of trouble with the law ever since coming to the capital. Despite this, all was going quite well.
The good times did not last. Five years ago, the boys' mother was caught in the crossfire of a confrontation between a few jumpy magi, and their shady Upper dealer. It was an accident, really, but that didn't change the fact that she was dead. Though the loss did hurt, Theron did not rush back to Dagos to attend the funeral like his brother did. A discovery made a few months before moving to Felici, as much an accident as the death itself, had hardened his heart to the woman. These days, he can barely remember why he even went looking for Sera in the first place, but it doesn't really matter. He found her with a man who most certainly was not his father, in ways that no other man should have been with her. Though he told no one, the wound from finding out Sera was cheating remained fresh, so he stayed right where he was.
This was ultimately a mistake. Unsurprisingly, Orion was more than a little upset at Theron's absence, and with the magi supposedly responsible for the loss of their mother. As he was in a relationship with a magi at the time, Theron was more inclined toward sympathy. Orion was not. They fought, and after the falling-out barely spoke to one another. When he found out his younger brother had taken up a place with Kalidas' Hunters, Theron severed their connection entirely. Though it hurt, he wasn't about to stand for what his sibling's newfound hatred.
Over the following years, Theron gradually worked his way through the ranks of the underworld, gathering connections and earning a reputation as one of the best contraband runners on the black market. Currently, he runs a small, skilled operation of his own, trading and running contraband as he sees fit (although he has made a point of staying away from any sort of human trafficking). His work has enabled him to live quite comfortably in Felici for some time now.
