Something to Fight For

YOU'RE GONNA CARRY THAT WEIGHT.

Everyone needs something to anchor them. Whether it’s a soldier fighting for his life in the trenches, a sailor going out for a long voyage, or just a regular person adrift in the flowing currents of everyday life, someone that keeps them rooted, a port in the storm. Those that do have something to return to. Those that do not find themselves lost in the current.

Daniel is a man without much in the way of anchor beyond the beliefs that drive him. He’s honorable, courageous, and willing to do whatever it takes to achieve his goals. It’s not much, but it’s all he has. There’s no truly safe harbor in which he can shelter himself, no one to which he can return, nothing to keep him honest. It would probably be nice for that to change.

Whether it’s a romantic interest, an adopted child, or just someone that he can trust fully and without reservation, having something worth fighting for would add a lot of potential for character development, both on his part and on that of whomsoever answers this add. Whatever path this relationship takes, it is critical that it gives Daniel something worth fighting for.
