[attr="class","foreign"] [attr="class","dust"] [attr="class","gold"]@blah [attr="class","gold"]words [attr="class","gold"]notes ulla [attr="class","sun"]So Many Words Left Unspoken The time was unimportant to River as he was in no rush to go about doing anything today. His job had come to a rather large stand still as most magi seem to have been behaving these past weeks. Which meant, he really had nothing to do at all. No missions, no beating down annoying piss ants, and no need to report in to any of his officers. So, with little to do the ever work avoiding Hunter took it upon himself to have a nice glass of tea at the local sweet shop. He sat outside at a white table that had a little umbrella over it. A yellow table cloth was laid out over it and a nice class of sweet tea rested before him. Below, was Aries who slept soundly with a small glass of half drank water beside him.
River rested slumped in his whicker chair, his eyes scanning the area for anyone that looked out of place. He was itching, for a change, for some action. But nothing seemed to be going on in this ever fast moving city. This of course, lead the young hunter to entertain himself. He crossed his jean clad legs a the knee. His biker boots rattled lightly from the clank of zippers. His sai’s rested in his hands that where covered by paddled red knuckle gloves. Idly, he hunter drummed the tip of his weapon against the table in a singular alternating rhythm as he would flip one sai as the other tapped the table and vice versa. With each tap he counted the movements in his head five, four, three, two, and one.
At five the blade would be against his forearm and one the point would bounce on the table. He did this repeatedly while scanning the area for any signs of activity by a magi or a fellow hunter. After a moment, his rhythm increased almost to the point he could be considered to be banging on a pair of drums. While keeping with his flips it soon changed to the butt of the weapon tapping the table and then the flip. Mindlessly, he did his own little exercises to keep his wrist loose and his muscle memory strong.
Every so often, he would change it up by adding in another random exercise or by flipping a sai into the air, catching it, and then return to the casual flow of flips only. Still, he picked up nothing of interest in his line of vision. Maybe he should leave the little shop and venture into the alleyways. Surely, he would be able to find someone by then. Flipping his left sai high into the air, he reached out and took a sip if his tea. Then, he promptly placed it on the table just in time to catch his sai by the hilt and return to his flipping movements without missing a beat. As lazy as River could be one certainly could say that he was at least diligent in his exercises.

Post"Wicked" Aiden Garnette On his free days, Aiden was often glad to be wandering Felici. He once went to school in this city before his family moved and even thought more about coming back after almost dying in Dagos. Of all places, the Hunter's Guild having their main headquarters in this city put him on constant edge even though he now had an ally that would help him keep a secret presence in the heart of the Guild's power. He clenched his prosthetic hand into a fist. That he was there at all was by no small effort and had taken a lot of time and planning on his part. Embry, the embattled politician, provided him with a place he could bunker down, but he still needed to keep tabs on the guild and update his information. He needed to keep busy in order to stay one step ahead of anyone who would suspect he was in this city. It was also up to him to gather information on the Guild's dirty dealings. Aiden knew all too well how corrupt this city was, but that also served to his advantage in this case. Not only had he secured a lifeline in enemy territory, but the element of surprise now was his. Still though, going out in public remained a challenge. Everyday Hunters roamed the streets so it was crucial that he never attract too much attention or remain in a highly-populated place for too long. He kept to cargo pants and other street clothes with the black hoodie over his head. As the overcast skies hovered and varied between sunny and gray, Aiden nonchalantly started walking against the very slight gust of wind that blew every so often on that blustery day. On this particular occasion, the silver-haired vagabond had decided to stake out a prominent downtown area that served for relaxing. Though no one specifically knew who he was, the entry incident from a while back had put plenty of people on high alert. In order to get through the gates undetected, he had paired up with several Magi who heavily damaged government buildings while he had stalled for time. The attack was a blow, but the result was touch-and-go for the most part. As he reminisced, a wary eye was kept on most of the passing blocks. He was walking on the pavement, keeping the hood tucked over his head and mouth to obscure his identity and warm himself as the breeze came in. Within a few minutes of keeping himself on-guard, Aiden came across the very homely sweet shop. Nothing was very special about it and for the most part, he had seen it about a dozen times. It was usually a good spot to grab coffee or hot chocolate and to sit down for a moment. That was usually what his intended plan was since he also had a bit of a sweet tooth he needed to satisfy on occasion. Brownies and cookies weren't on his normal fare, though he could honestly say that he looked forward to treating himself. He walked in through the door and started to get in the line that was steadily forming and passed the time just by staring off into space or glancing around at some of the sweet street decor. With the weather steadily chilling, it was probably a good idea for the owners to start turning around from Summertime, he thought. This once though, Aiden took a glance at the outer sitting area and honestly froze in mid-step inside the line as just outside past where the few baked goods were on display. From Aiden's perspective, the man was little younger then him and seemingly borne quite a few more of the sharper male traits. His hair was contrast to Aiden's own, a stark black color opposed to his own silver and snowbound white. His state of dress was quite unfitting, but that wasn't quite what garnered Aiden's attention. He peaked and noted the dexterity with which he was twirling the short batons in his hands with relative ease and rhythm while walking along up to the counter. Among the few sitting out around the sweet shop, Aiden scrutinized him particularly. Not that Aiden could gain anything from a glance through an open window, but something seemed curious about him. His attentions rapidly turned to another brown-haired man sitting two tables away on his second glare. The dark-haired man looked skilled and prepared while the other one looked like he was up to something in earnest. On top of that, Aiden had a weird sensation in the bottom of his gut. Maybe he was being paranoid, but the glass-eyed middle-aged man with the goatee looked familiar to him as well, though both of them he couldn't place immediately. At that point, it was his turn to grab his snack, though the two suspects remained at the forefront of his mind. "I'll take an espresso and a batch of cookies please" he asked politely at the counter before moving off to the side until his order arrived. The clerk thanked him and Aiden reciprocated before moving on and out the door, moving around the building so he was positioned behind both of his subjects at their respective tables. He kept a watchful, suspicious eye on the one wearing the tan trench coat for a few moments before eyeing the other. He was currently flipping his batons up and about without a care in the world and was actually pretty good at it. The flipping took on a musical rhythm to it that seemed to entertain as well as exercise. Soon after, Aiden took a sip of his espresso and got out his knives to lightly bang on the pipe next to him to go along with the pace and rhythm. He would take the hilt of his saxe knife and discretely tap the flat edge of the blade against the pipe at the appropriate time. The hollow piping had good vibration and Aiden began to more aggressively play along with the tune while faithfully remaining vigilant.

His motions where short and on par with each flip, swing, or toss that he did. All the while, his eyes just roamed the area. He spotted a few magi’s moving through the crowd but they where anything but hostile. Still, he frowned deeply at them with narrowed eyes as if waiting for one just to do one fuck up. Of course, nothing happened as it was a mother and child merely trying to remain unnoticed by the general public. They did remarkably well but the trained eye of a hunter would always find them easily. A soft sigh escaped the selective mute as he moved his sai around his fingers.
He paused in his motions for only half a second when he happened to noticed a figure with a hoodie over his head enter the sweet shop. His brows came together for the brief second as his hands returned to their mindless task. He was a bit curious to why someone would be walking about in that fashion. Was it a Magi sneaking about or something a bit more foul then that? His curiosity was sparked but he made no motion to encounter the individual and pretended he never noticed him.
Shifting slightly in his seat, he gave Aries a small nudge of his foot and then another when the beast did not shift. A slight growl came from the familiar to show he had clearly acknowledge his Master’s first nudge. He merely choose to ignore it which caused the Hunter to roll his eyes. Of course, the familiar he had been gifted with had a bit of an attitude just like River. Aries shifted beneath the table in order to turn beneath it and stick his nose out just enough to see behind River. His k-9 face was well hidden from beneath the chair and table cloth. However, those eyes would stare at Aiden carefully.
Having a second pair of eyes made River more relaxed. His rhythms continued with trained ease. Soon, he caught a new sound that was not made by him, his sai’s, or his familiar. It was coming from behind him as if matching his own musical rhythmus. His eyes slowly narrowed and rolled towards Aiden with a tilt of his head to peer at him casual in a none threatening manner. However, he was ready for any signs of dangerous.

Post"Wicked" Aiden Garnette The snow-haired man's eyes were unceasingly observant of both potential suspects that were equal as prey. One played with his batons without a care in the world while the other seemed rooted and rather unaware of the moment, except for when Aiden happened to catch both men stuck on staring at one particular pair in the crowd. Ordinarily, Aiden might have been nonchalant and dismissed the gaze as enigma, but then that something struck him immediately. In the crowd farther down, the dishonored hunter easily recognized the woman and child. When he did, a momentary sigh of relief escaped his lungs. When he had first entered the city, he had caused quite a stir with the government buildings. To enter undetected, he had needed to partner up with several Fire Magi who also had an agenda of blowing up Government buildings. That mother and child, Sasha and Adrian, were two quite proficient Fire Magi. From beneath his fraying hood, Aiden let loose a snarky little grin. No way was he going to allow their lives to be taken now. The man wielding the batons had clearly gotten curious by the banging of his knives and leveled a slick glance and head-tilt at him that gave him the appearance of acting coy in Aiden's eye. Aiden's grin lit up; plainly visible as well as arrogantly taunting in its overture message a moment before putting the knife away. It eased the burden on his heart, knowing that those two had gotten away and were still undetected, but the fact they were here now set his own alarms ringing. There was almost nothing he saw from one of them, but he could easily distinguish that the dark-haired man had noticed the pair. The other man was far less subtle about it, even from behind it was plain and obvious. In fact, it seemed like their cover was blown already. His second suspect, seemingly was going to rise from his chair from anger. The playing with his knives ceased and Aiden quickly rolled one up under his sleeves. The mysterious hunter, whatever his name was, quickly began to speed-walk out of the sweet shop and that was when time seemed to jumble for Aiden. He leaped out of his seat, breaking into a fast sprint and drawing one of his knives from his pocket with only one singular purpose. It was plainly obvious that his hunch, at least on one of them, had been correct and now his target had been confirmed. He knew that Aiden was coming only milliseconds before the knife slithered out. With a single thrust of the blade, Aiden stabbed for the man's back. Aiden's prey heard the resounding of heavy footfalls, but he had been caught up in catching up with the terrorist mother and son that he knew and only heard them as background noise in his mind. As he turned around too late, Aiden's blade pierced his throat. Crimson red spurted forth as he withdrew the knife away and then ripped into the next most vital artery that he could remember the position of. At that point, he couldn't possibly do anymore. The first stab startled and confused for a moment, but the second was confirmed murder and started the audience into a flurry of pure panic. It was lucky that he had dressed for this occasion, keeping most of his face concealed while bolting into the hordes of fleeing people for the back alleys with but one last smirk backwards: "Catch me if you can" Note: The thread I'm referencing is this one: Fight the Fire. Aiden partnered up with several Magi to basically damage several buildings and that was how he got into the city. He covered for the Fire Magi's escape while he confronted Archaleos. Let me know if there is anything you'd rather I change :) I liked how River described the disguised Magi though. [font color="FireBrick"][b]"Speech Here"[/b][/font]

River shifted in his seat just enough that he was able to put one leg out incase something went down. Maybe it was just him but he had the feeling that something was about to play out. With his quick glance, he had taken note of the hooded fellows smirk. It seemed arrogant and knowing. It was something that put River into a watchful mode as he turned away from him. His back might be turned towards the hooded individual but his ears where clearly peeled and listening very closely to his movements. His actions never slowed a single bit as me moved his sai’s about still. But this time, his pattern suddenly changed and was less relaxed. His movements had a stern meaning as his thuds got a bit harder and his grip on them shifted from mere training to defensive. The tips of his sai’s no longer bounced on the table top as much as the shifting suddenly came to a sudden halt. Now, the pummel of the weapon would tap in a new song as each tip reassured the hunter he held his weapons securely.
He had lost sight of the two Magi was they blended in with the crowd. Those individuals were no longer his concern nor where they his target. His current attention was planted on the figure behind him and that would be what he would hunt. His eyes moved towards the other man in the area who stood to go after the magi, a hunter. He figured there might be another in the area beyond him. Still, the air felt strange and in that moment when he was pondering on why his heart pounded in his chest the hooded figure jumped into action.
River on the other hand, had no moved. He heard him move and from the sounds his aim was else where and it seemed to be true. In under a minute the man that had moved towards the Magi was now dead as a doornail. The killer was leaving the area which caused River to merely raise a brow. Interesting. It seemed someone didn’t like the idea of filth being targeted. Grinning sideways, he gave the retreating man a raise of the head in a ’what up’ fashion. Pressing his lips together, he gave a ear piercing whistle that would carry out towards Aiden. Aries emerged from the table, pulling the table cloth off in a single go right as River took hold of his tea. Aries gave a dangerously loud bark and bounded easily over the tables in front of River to chase after Aiden.
River stood casually, took a long drink of his tea and promptly placed it on the table and took off at a quick pace. Unlike his familiar, he jumped across a table to propel him forward and out into the crowd that was splitting open like the red sea. One weapon was replaced in its hostler that rested on the back of River’s belt with the other rested in his hand. Prongs hooked between his thumb and pinkie while one finger rested out against the handle.
Aries was gaining on Aiden easily with each push forward the growling beast snarled and bounded after him moving unlike a normal dog. Aries was out to herd Aiden and if he could no herd him towards a dead end then he would aim to wound him in order to allow River to close the distance between them.

Post"Wicked" Aiden Garnette There was a moment when the gauntlet was tossed and both were ready to play ball. That second lasted and then was gone as the whistle coming from the other Hunter sounded off to start running. The crowd frighteningly gave way as few tripped and tried to get away from the murder wearing the hood. A few took pictures with their cellphones, but most others were outright fleeing in the streets and away from the masked murderer. There weren't many in his way, giving Aiden a wide enough berth to focus on dashing through down the darkening road, though his pursuers were given the same advantage. Aiden craned his neck as the large Doberman was hot on his heels and rapidly gaining ground. He was familiar with many Hunter tactics and the few animals that commonly accompanied them, though the size and speed of the dog came as a bit of a surprise. He ran as fast as he could, dodging, jumping on top of cars, and knocking over trash cans in order to slow the dog down. The only other way for him to escape would be down the narrower back alleys, but that also ran the risk of running into a dead end. Kicking over a trash can and sending it careening toward the large doberman, Aiden followed up quickly by spinning around and tossing two of his throwing knives back at the Doberman in a split-second test of judgement and skill. His left foot was off the ground when the ex-hunter kicked off a nearby waiting shed on the street corner and rolled on a ledge that was suspended above a sign for a motel. Built into the variety of shops littering the streets, the sign gave him just enough leverage to shimmy along the side and begin climbing a ways up the wall before vanishing into an open window. From there on, Aiden didn't pause to take a breather. He shut the window and continued charging ahead. The second floor of the motel was rather spacious, though the people and luggage took up grand part of it. There was shouting and yelps of surprise, but his adrenaline was beating at rapid pace through his veins. He ran out the nearest door and into a corridor that was running away from the main street. He needed to get away from the main highway where the majority of people were stationed. The next flight of stairs led to the roof where Aiden hoped to lose his pursuers for good and hopefully get to a place where he could bunker down. He kicked through the door that led topside, eyes flickering at the overreaching view of the street. There was no time to waste though as he immediately began to rush and jump across to the next building over.

People were annoying, why did they always have to go straight to their cellphones when trouble happened? It was rather irritating for River but he had other things to focus on other then people recording or taking pictures of the scene. He rushed past the people with ease and as normal, he sighed. He would of loved to sit back and just enjoy his tea but alas his job called for him to go into action. Aries was far ahead of him and he caught the tail end of his familiar. He made a quick turn and bounded after his dog.
Aries, on the other hand, was diving left to right and jumping over the objects in his way. He was well trained to react to magi trying to block his path with objects, this was no different. He timed his jumps and even used the knocked over trashcan to propel himself forward. Of course, the poor beast wasn’t expecting the can to be full and ended up with a banana on his face that he had to shake off. This caused him to lose a bit of speed and slam into the wall as he made a quick turn. Shaking his head, he scampered forward, barking loudly. River would hear his familiar and pick up speed.
Aries came to a sudden halt as he looked around, having lost sight of the human. Growling lightly, he looked up to see the person shimmy above. With a huff the beast looked around before darting off and guessing on where to go. Meanwhile, River had finally caught up with Aries and looked towards him with a confused expression. Apparently, the figure was lost to Aries which meant he went to a place that Aries could not follow or he vanished somewhere. Perhaps both was a possibility. His eyes quickly scanned the area for possible places the man could of ventured. With a click of the tongue, Aries darted off towards an open building and River took his chances on following the path Aiden choose. He wasn’t honestly sure if he went this way but he was taking a chance. Aries, on the other hand entered a building across the street.
In the process, he busted through crowds of people and up a flight of stairs and then another and more. He took a door the was opened by a staff member and continued towards the roof. The beast had a plan much like River. If he was correct, the man might try to take to the roof tops to avoid being captured. Luckily, it seemed he was right as he busted onto the roof at the same time he spotted the man running towards the opposite building. River, tired, took a breather and slowly made his way after him at the very moment of Aiden’s possible jump, Aries busted through the door to the other building. He waited there and River merely shrugged at his partner.
He grinning lightly, and whistled. Not for his familiar but for Aiden. Not bad, this guy had some skill and had much more stamina then River did, that much was for sure. But now, what would the fellow do?

Post"Wicked" Aiden Garnette Aiden heard the whistle and his muscles subsequently froze in place, knowing at that moment that the beast from before had made it to the opposite building and the hunter had outfoxed and boxed him in. He resigned himself to what was to come, anticipating the coming fight. He could play against hunters, but this one seemed especially cunning and skilled. If the two of them fought, Aiden wasn't sure what would happen. From the looks of him from where he stood, Aiden felt that he could at least fight to a draw with him and then maybe disarm the familiar before making his way across the string of buildings. That would be the best case scenario however. What was his next move? For the moment, he stood where he was, a snarky, defiant grin on his face. "Pretty loyal familiar you have there and your skill with those batons was intriguing. You train the dog yourself?" He asked, calculating their surroundings with a curious, veiled eye. He kept the mask on and a trained eye scrutinized the opposite hunter, not sure at the moment if he was anticipating the fight that he was. He seemed relaxed and confident, though not the overconfidence Aiden felt he could take advantage of. It also struck him that he didn't think he had the name of the other, despite having a pretty good knowledge of some of the guild's top operatives on his list. Was he a newcomer to the guild? No, he seemed too highly skilled to just be a rookie and the more he glanced, the more the feeling was obscured and unclear.
