Herm. Zombie bait.
Talia led the way through the town, keeping her pistols in hand to ensure that the path was clear. They met only stragglers, with the sound of her gunshots swallowed up by the impossibly loud chaos of the fire. She was just glad that none of the people she was leading had lost their heads completely and started screaming. Making her way through the grass, she headed straight for the trees, watching for zombies coming from that direction as well as she could. Her pistols barked again and again, downing zombie after zombie while they fought their way free of the town that had become a death trap. Hearing Aiden's directive, she shouted an affirmative and turned her attention on that section.
"Caroline!" she shouted over the chaos. "Where are you?"
There was no doubt that the group sorely needed back-up. There weren't any zombies in the trees that she could see just yet, but that didn't mean that there weren't any at all. She couldn't cover a group this size all on her own, even with Aiden covering the other flank. Looking around, she realized that she'd even lost track of Aiden. Cursing under her breath in her native tongue, she focused on getting the group consolidated and away from the edge of the trees. They didn't seem to have left anyone behind, but she went to the back of the group to watch for Dullahan's arrival anyway.
Where had Aiden disappeared to? She could hear the rest of the group muttering nervously to each other, but they had the presence of mind not to start making too much noise. There were a few zombies following, but there weren't that many. It seemed as if the zombies were coming from town, which meant that she probably wasn't going to lead them into an ambush out in the woods. Quiet as she was trying to keep the group, it was unexpected but easy to hear when the zombie groans began to come from the flank that Aiden was supposed to be protecting.
"Hey," she whispered urgently to the group. "Head that way!"
She pointed in the opposite direction as she moved toward the bush where she heard the low moaning chorus of the undead. With her gun drawn, she started toward the sound, preparing to investigate.

Notes There we go. Now we're gettin' going
| 'TIL DEATH DO US PART, AND IT DID Crack! Crack! Crack!Dullahan, perched on the roof of the building, provided cover with her rifle. She was a surgeon with it; they were easy targets, and stabilizing it was easy between her experience and mechanical arms. The group was making headway out of the town, holding their own, with stragglers picked off and covering anyone who needed to reload. The further they got, and the more obscured her fire lane become, the less she was able to help. And with the flames behind her, and attention her rifle received, she knew it was time to go. With a practiced leap, she landed on the ground from her perch and spring into a propulsion-aided sprint, following the path cleared by the group ahead of them. It was easy enough to outpace those behind her, so she stopped every few moments to take stance and aid the group with a few more shots. Talia’s voice was easy over the commotion. I’m coming, I’m coming; hold your goddamn panties up, Tal she thought, more humor than irritation. Truth be told, Dullahan wasn’t worried about her life; a zombie would have an impossible time gnawing through her chassis, but the pain it would cause and potential for being caught in a fire kept her on her toes. She saw the figure of Aiden heading off on his own; what, was he trying to play hero? His funeral. It wasn’t long before Dullahan was in sight of Talia and waved at her; the zombies were thinning out under the strategy, and with Dullahan here to help mop up efficiently, there was enough of a clearing to send the group in a safe direction. At least the concentration of undead was thinner here than inside the town. Talia sent the group off, but Dullahan stuck with her. “Uh-uh, hero; someone’s gotta watch your back in there.” She wouldn’t take no for an answer, and would stalk forward with the woman. The fate of the group didn’t matter to her; they seemed competent enough, and she’d get her gun back later, even if she had to pry it from a corpse. She slung her rifle over her back without collapsing it to its compact form, and her wrists whirred as the shotguns within emerged, forming a revolver-like bracelet around each wrist. |

Post"Wicked" Aiden Garnette Aiden... frankly wasn't certain of how to respond to this new information and nearly was overwhelmed. It was definitely the influence of magic, but it was directly inside of him this time. After a few moments of having his fingers licked by the undead, he began to touch and prod at the unfamiliar feeling resonating in his gut and tap into it. Whenever he did, the palm of his hand would glow and radiate with the obsidian and magenta-hued light as it dimmed and flickered every few seconds. The effort of creating, maintaining, and manipulating it consciously was strenuous and he noticed the drain it exerted on him. He also noted that being in direct, physical contact with the arisen undead seemed to have had an effect on him. He compared it to feeding the arisen undead; the more he did it, the more it seemed to help his ability to call upon and control it. Only a few seconds went by before he realized how much less foreign it was compared to just a minute ago as he was covered in zombie slobber. He summoned it and experimentally tried to order a single zombie to bow. The woman as she was, did not bow, but instead wrapped her scrawny, decaying arms around his left leg. He stepped it off and tried to issue another command, igniting the light a bit more this time and giving it a bit more of his strength. This time, the zombie did bow down to one knee, albeit Aiden quickly felt his strength diminish quite a bit in that short amount of time as he tried once more. Most ignored his will and verbal directions, continuing to obsessively cling to him like frantic, clingy puppies. The ex-hunter let out a sigh and resigned himself to the fact that he couldn't possibly muster complete command of this ability just yet. One thing was certain though, he had some type of influence over the zombies and they were of no mortal threat to him at least. The remaining questions of why and how he had this ability would have to wait until a later time for right now. Aiden could still pick up the sounds of fighting going on, but they were much more dulled now. With the zombies surrounding him, Aiden broke away and headed back towards the burning town. Most of the zombies seemed to still be blindly subservient and without the necessary control needed to issue direct and meaningful orders, he could only flee. The light illuminated his way forth, along with his hunter-trained senses. As he started to head back, Aiden glanced a bit off to the side and happened to catch sight of the remnants of the group from the cafe. They were safe for the moment and Aiden could see that most of the undead were well-taken care of. That brought a contented smile to his face, knowing that the Magi would at least be in good hands if more undead showed up that he could not control. What should he do now? What was his objective? Aiden paused for a moment, standing amidst the burning district of Camlorn where the cacophony of noise was at a minimum and he was hidden enough to think. "I could leave and regroup. The lot of the zombies will follow me and I can take the time to actually figure out what the hell is going on here." That idea would work, but it would also cost him an opportunity. "If I did that though, I won't ever be getting a second chance like this. That woman was one of the Guild's hard hitters. If I can subdue her with this power, then it just might be possible to extract a bit more information."That thought was too tempting to ignore; it wasn't everyday that he got a chance like this. He had to take action and now was the time for it, so long as he could manage to just figure out how to control this ability a bit better. Waiting for a moment, he grabbed one of the nearby undead and activated the light at his fingertips. Could he get it to defend him or specifically designate a target? What were the boundaries of his control? He sighed and glanced out of the corner of his eye back in the direction he had come from. It was dark enough now that spotting him would be far more difficult than normal, but he would need to be cautious and hope he could get the undead to work well enough with him to open up a weakness he could exploit. One quite devious and lurid idea did occur to him, raising a smirk from his lips, though it depended quite a bit on how much control he could muster and how fast he could react. With no other plans at the moment, Aiden grabbed two zombies that were lanking around in his presence nearby. As it happened, both of them looked like recently deceased twin sisters around their early 30s and most likely killed when the village was overrun. Their bodies were in better shape he noted then some of the others at the moment. He let the power flow from him, wrapping his hand over their hearts and verbally trying to mouth his orders assertively in hopes that it would work. "You two are to follow and guard me with everything you have. If you get the chance, take away any weapons you find. When I snap my fingers, I need you to restrain two women." He pictured the two women's faces in his mind, hoping he could convey the thoughts in his mind with the magic at hand. "One more thing, I'll need you to grope these two. Keep them as busy as possible and don't let them shoot. Go for the bonkers on their chests." He remembered the sniper fire that his target had laid down during their retreat and the detective also seemed like she was a fair shot. Numbers and using them as cover would have to be his main strategy in order to neutralize the gunfire, but he still needed to get close in order to do damage. He went about setting up a few more zombies in a moment before fleeing into the forest and waiting to ambush the women from the dark as the zombies engaged their targets with the few undead he could command at his necromantic beck and call.
Note: Apologies for the weeklong delay. The holiday set me back a couple notches. And yes. Talia and Dullahan are going to be.... you know. Aiden and his wicked plans. Putting the romancer back in Necromancer :) "Speech Here"

Yeah, I really doubt it.
Talia didn't fire as she saw a massive herd of zombies wandering off toward the town again, but she paused when she saw Misha's white hair at the head of the mass. He seemed to be darting away from the herd, so maybe they were after him? If that was true, how had he managed to get away from them in one piece, anyway? Shelving the thought for later, she glanced over to Dullahan. It was time for them to move, if they were going to keep the last of their allies alive. Whatever his past, the man had helped them to get the townspeople to safety, so they owed him at least enough to try to save him from the zombies. Darting through the space between the woods and the town, she held off firing her weapon so as not to draw their attention.
The town was still on fire at the far end, but it didn't seem to be spreading across the main street, which was just wide enough that the far end of town would probably get the worst of it. Looking to the rooftops, she thought about how she would be most useful in the situation. If she could get up somewhere where the zombies couldn't, then she could pick them off from a distance. With the fire isolated to the far end of town, she should be fairly safe from those. She turned to Dullahan and pointed up to the rooftop of a three-story building nearby.
"Can you get me up there?" she asked. "I can cover you while we try to get Garnette out."
If Dullahan could throw her up there, or use her thrusters, even, Talia would have no trouble grabbing on and climbing up the rest of the way. With that accomplished, she should have plenty of light from the fires to make her shots worth the use of ammo. Even if zombies gathered around the base of the building, the metal paneling and lack of stairs made it unlikely that she would be in much danger. That meant that she could focus more on the offense than the defense.

| THE DEAD WALK AMONG US.
POST
The damage of the attack would be shown all throughout the small city of Camlorn and waypoint between the two major cities of Ethea Felici and Dagos. For whatever reason the characters had found themselves in the city it would most certainly be an experience they would not forgot. From the dead rising to the fact that they were trying to eat innocent citizens who had done nothing wrong. Everyone certainly had an experience of some sort.
City hall had been set on fire, a gasoline station had been blown up, and the dead roamed into the streets of the small city. Things had certainly happened and the people around would certainly learn to cremate their dead soon enough. If there were no bodies, this meant there was no chance of the dead rising for the next meal. The people of Camlorn would soon be wiser from this event.
As such, everyone would be amazed to see that the dead would fall silent. Their bodies not moving, keeping still against the floor where they would fall. If prompted they would not wake, this time most certainly deader than dead. The zombies were fallen once again, leaving only a mess, disaster, and confusion in their wake. Along with the fallen dead people, two would fall as well, exhaustion overpowering their limbs, eyes growing heavy as both, Fiamma, and Aiden would pass out, drifting into a slumber.
Slowly, citizens would emerge from their buildings, and a cheer would rise. The dead had fallen. The threat was over. The living had emerged victorious, and they had conquered over a zombie infestation. It was awe inspiring and each of the group would witness a camaraderie between all races, a party beginning to be thrown as the bar owners would break out the booze, and the clubs blaring music. There would be a party in the streets as citizens would focus on finding family and friends ensuring their safety.
A member of the public would approach each of the groups that had emerged during the conflict. Each would offer a small reward to each member. The Heroes of Camlorn had the citizens gratitude, and were welcome any time, no matter the race of the people. Race seemed to be of little consequence when the dead would rise and attack.
Slowly but surely it could be said that Camlorn would rebuild, cremate their lost loved ones, and grow again into the prosperous stopping point between Dagos and Felici. For now though, people were focused on their safety and the safety of their family and friends.
