Skating through the Stars[Caroline and Lelianna]

When they entered the building, she understood.

Earlier, they were told to wait until nightfall for their “date;” Caroline wasn’t sure why, but it made her nervous. Waiting inside of a town made her nervous. Did they know who she was? Were hunters and agents on their way to capture them? But she pushed the anxiety down, over time. She gripped Lelianna’s hand the entire wait as if she was afraid to let go; the warmth of her grasp and comfort of her grip helped keep Caroline centered.

When they were lead to their room, she gripped harder, constantly looking around for a sign of a trap or attack. But when they were led to the starlit room, she understood. A romantic night under the stars; of course. The sky was on full display, as brightly lit by countless stars as it had been the night she confessed her feelings to Leli.

The only difference was the distinct chill in the room, which drew her eyes from the sky.

“Oh. An ice rink,” she said, as they entered the room and the attendants shuffled out, still on hand and nearby if need be. The room was pretty empty otherwise; only a sitting area (which, even Caroline had to admit, looked very soft and comfortable), a door which presumably led to a bathroom, and a basket of snacks remained. Even the lights were dimmed as low as could be, to allow the stars a chance to shine.

While you could get the same view from the woods, something about the place made it seem more beautiful than normal. Maybe it was the way the starlight sparkled on the ice. The tension left Caroline’s body.

“It’s… very pretty, isn’t it?” She said, stepping into the cute little sitting area. Besides cushions and mattresses and blankets, Caroline found the small rack containing ice skates of all sizes. “Ah, here they are. I… don’t suppose you’ve done any ice skating in Arecia, have you?”
