Nothin' else seems to hurt like the smile on your face "So this is where Daddy lives." Elijah would say as he continued to walk, his calloused hand comfortably held his daughter's. It was foreign and strange but in the best of ways? Such a small hand in his own. Not as small as it had been those eight years ago. But still remarkably smaller.
Once again, there was that unconscious feeling. That the child was porcelain or glass. That she was something to be not only treasured but feared over or she might shatter. Elijah hoped that this unshakable current sensation would lessen as time continued. It made sense to a degree that he would feel such a way concerning his lost daughter of years. But still, it would be nice once he could enjoy her presence without having such an anxiety.
Upon reaching his front door, Elijah would pull out his house key with that free hand. "Now I don't have space for you to have your own room yet. But Daddy plans on looking for a new home soon that will have more space. You can help me pick out a new apartment that you like too. How does that sound?" He'd ask with a smile as he'd enter into his home. Upon entering his home Elijah would lightly tug for Stella to follow along.
"Pathos?" He'd call. Even though Elijah had told Stella about the android on the way over, there was still the need of an official introduction.

There was a coffee stain on the kitchen table. That in itself shouldn't have been overly concerning, but Pathos -- Elijah's personal assistant android -- was pressed for time. Her master would be returning home with a new tenant whose identity he purposely kept secret; "I want to surprise you," as he'd put it. The android's day was spent tidying the apartment as much as it could possibly be tidied, and the time for Elijah's usual return was drawing near. With a veritable arsenal of cleaning supplies in hand, Pathos devoted all of her cleaning prowess to vanquishing this unsightly stain from her oasis of cleanliness, but it was proving to be a formidable adversary. Footsteps outside the hall; a pair of them in fact. Pathos began to scrub harder. Faster, so fast that smoke was beginning to form underneath the rag. Gradually, the murky brown circle thinned, and Pathos smiled, satisfied that she succeeded just in the nick of time. Then she realized that the stain was disappearing due to the wood itself peeling away from her scrubbing, leaving an ugly patch of lighter colored wood to contrast with the darker color of the rest of the table. Oh no. Oh dear. This was bad. This was very bad. Pathos could hear the footsteps drawing closer. What if the new tenant noticed her mistake? With little idea of what to do, Pathos tossed the still smoking rag onto the patch and sprinted back and forth between the kitchen and the living room with her cleaning supplies. They were all stowed away when the door open and Elijah's voice called out for her. "Coming, Mr. Kingsley!" Pathos replied, trying to sound like a perfectly normal android that hadn't ruined his table. She made her way to the entrance, and that was when she saw the child who seemed to be leading Elijah by the hand. Pathos stared at the girl out of curiosity, for she bore a striking resemblance to Elijah. "This is the new tenant?" Pathos asked, and that was when she realized that she hadn't dressed, leaving her porcelain white chassis, hoof-like legs, and a myriad of other clearly mechanical parts visible for the little girl to see. Despite this, Pathos approached the girl and knelt down in front of her, which produced a low whirring noise from her joints. "Hello, my name is Pathos. What is yours?" she asked, smiling. The car ride was a quiet one.. despite Stella wanting playing 20 questions.. times like 100. Haven was such an incredible place and there was just so much going on in it that was hard for an 11 year old that had never been here before to not be mind blown. The ride was quick though and before she knew what was happening, they were walking through the front door. Stella looked around the house, mouth open as she held her father's massive hand. It wasn't that her hand was that small compared to another 11 year old, but moreso that her father had the hands of a giant. mhm. As soon as her father spoke about her not having her own room she more or less shrugged it off. She never really had a room to call her own anyways, plus! Now she'd probably get to sleep with Elijah so! Before long a new person came into view. ' Pathos... what an interesting name..' Stella thought to herself. She didn't really pay much mind to the hooves or mechanical stuff, that didn't really matter to her in the slightest. Stella was quick to shake the woman's hand and give her a big smile. "Stella." she signed. The little girl then proceeded to go back to her father and rub on his belly, doing her best to indicate that she was hungry and wanted some food or at least something to snack on for the time being. The young girl's next intentions were to search the whole house and learn everything about it. All the nooks and crannies and all the good hiding spots for when she played games with her father. The young girl had missed out on her childhood and now that her father was here and she was here and everything was going well for her, she was starting to regain some of her childish qualities..

"Please tell me you know sign language" D: Nothin' else seems to hurt like the smile on your face "Yes." Elijah would answer with a nod. "This is my daughter, Stella." Unaware that the little girl was signing her own introduction due to his own disability. The man would smile warmly as he listened to the positivity and kind reception. Everything seemed to be going well between his child and assistant. No squeezing of his hand to showcase nerves or fear. To be quite honest, Elijah's chest swelled with relief. He'd spent so much time apart from his daughter, he didn't know what had affected her or what cruelties had scarred his little girl with fears.
Apparently cyborgs and androids were not one of them. That was so nice to witness. Elijah would be lying if he claimed anything other than Pathos had become quite the staple in his house hold. A home that he was definitely going to have to move out of now in search of more room. His family had grown. It was ... This was nice.
The rubbing of his stomach would cause him to blink downwards. "Are you hungry?" He'd ask the little one, a hand reaching out to feel if a nod would follow. Which it did. "Alright, we can get you something to eat. That's no problem." Looking back to where he assumed Pathos' eyesight was, Elijah would make the inquiry official. "Pathos, can you help me make Stella something to eat? Just something simple so she gets it sooner than later."
If Pathos agreed to the request and Stella went off to explore the apartment, Elijah would follow after Pathos' path. "She can't speak." He'd inform in a softer voice. "I don't suppose you were programmed to know sign language?"

Pathos had previously assumed that she was intimately familiar with herself insomuch as software functions were concerned, yet today would be the first time she was taken aback. The little girl's hand movements were recognized instantly, which was odd considering Pathos didn't remember installing sign language recognition software. It must have been installed while I was powered down, Pathos processed internally, and she found this logic sound. The android registered the girl -- Stella -- with a continued smile, "It is a pleasure to meet you," she said, holding her knelt position in case the child wished to engage in childlike behavior like hugging or handholding. Neither of those actions occurred. An aside glance was directed towards Elijah, and it hit her that there wasn't any possible way that he could hold a two-sided conversation with his child. At last, her purpose was clear... As soon as Stella scarpered off, Pathos snapped straight up; didn't this child know how dangerous a house could be to someone her age?! Before she could engage in a pursuit, Elijah addressed her with his concerns as well as a request -- and a question. "Affirmative towards both of your inquiries, Mr. Kingsley. I will ensure that Ms. Stella does not injure herself and provide a simple meal of her choosing posthaste," she said, and her gears were starting to whir more loudly as she grew apprehensive over the missing child as if she expected to hear sounds of breaking furniture any second now. Regardless, she waited until Elijah's affirmation before setting off at a brisk walk to find their new tenant. Thankfully, the apartment wasn't overly large. Pathos found Stella in the midst of her explorations, and slowly her whirring died down. The android approached Stella and knelt down in front of her once more. Her hand was raised, and it swiftly formed into several different signs with mechanical precision, " What would you like to eat, Ms. Stella? We have a wide selection of fruits, salads, fruit salads, vegetable soups, or various combinations of vegetable and fruit," there was a pause, and Pathos continued, this time at a slightly faster pace, "Please do not wander around unsupervised; my programming requires that I protect both you and Mr. Kingsley from harm, and a child can easily enter into situations wherein they could be seriously injured."

The house was a strange one but it was hers and that was enough for Stella. She actually had her own home and stuff! Before with Lulu they kind of slept wherever and never really in the same place for too long. While that style didn't really bother Stella anymore, she was still exciting about having a place to call her own. It didn't take long for Stella to find the kitchen and to be gin rummaging through the cupboards she could reach. After only a few moments though she heard footsteps coming her way and turned her head slightly for a moment to see Pathos enter the kitchen. Pathos was quick to ask the young Kingsley what she wanted but... the offers were less than suitable. Vegetables and fruits?? blech. Stella was looking for something with a little more kick... like something with a little more sugar, those kinds of foods were always the best to her. Before Stella could sign back in response to food though, Pathos signed again... don't wander around unsupervised?! in her own apartment? The young girl's eyes went wide.. That was wild. She would not accept this cruel fate! She scrunched up her face as she went around to find a chair to pull up next to the cupboards so she could reach the higher up ones. There had to be something that was not a fruit or vegetable in this house, right?? There was no way her father just lived on those, hadn't he ever had a sweet before?

And so begins day one XD Thank the gods for Pathos Nothin' else seems to hurt like the smile on your face Words could not express how much relief he experienced in hearing the cyborg knew sign language. Yes, of course, when compared to the more extreme relief of first hearing his daughter was still alive, such moments were on a completely different scale. But this was a different category that still peeked its own charts. This meant he would be able to communicate with his precious little girl. He would know when Stella needed something and this would allow either him or his capable house assistant to meet any need that could possibly arise.
If Elijah had it his way, Stella would never want for anything else for the rest of her life.
It was often the case, practically frequent enough to refer to it as tradition, that the earth magi would choose to relax in his own home. Seems a simple enough concept. For who truly didn't when they came home after a long day? But for Elijah there were other factors. First and foremost his ability to feel the world about him through sensing the vibrations in the ground. So when Elijah relaxed it coupled with the fact he was no longer able to see, he chose to turn off that part of his brain in order to truly unwind. But today was understandably the exception. Those tiny feet excitedly going off to explore her new home, it was precious to him.
"That would be wonderful, Pathos. Thank you." Elijah would be unaware of any exchanging of signs. Being informed Stella was going to be taken care of he only then realized he hadn't taken off his shoes yet. Feeling his way over to the couch the man would begin to untie and pull off his work shoes. It would be at the removal of his second shoe when the sound of ... of furniture moving would catch his attention. Was a chair being dragged around? "Everything okay?" Elijah would ask.

Pathos stood in the kitchen awkwardly waiting for some kind of response from Stella, but the youth gave her nothing but expressions she couldn't make sense of. What was a scrunched-up face meant to convey? By her logic, Stella refusal to affirm or deny her requests left it in a state of limbo -- neither a yes or a no. Stella started to noisily drag a chair across the floor; Pathos's head tilted to the side, "What are you doing?" She received no answer as the girl proceeded to mount it to reach a cabinet higher up. Pathos's eyes widened, "Ms. Stella, that is very danger-" She stopped at the sound of Elijah's voice, which raised a dilemma. Things were most certainly not alright. Stella had unnecessarily placed herself in a position for the chair she stood on to slide out and send her crashing to the floor and face serious injuries. However, Pathos did not desire to worry Elijah within the first ten minutes of his daughter's arrival, and so she something she'd never done before. "Everything is fine," Pathos lied, before stepping closer to Stella and lowering her voice to a whisper, "Ms. Stella, if you require anything from this cabinet, I will be more than happy to reach it for you," she gave the chair a cautious, distrusting glance. "It is too dangerous for you to step down on your own. The chair may slide out beneath you." Pathos moved behind Stella and slowly reached out, hands resting beneath the child's armpits. "I will now lift you up, then downwards to the floor. Please do not struggle," she warned, before doing as she instructed. A child wasn't heavy at all for a gynoid, and Stella was no exception. Surely there wouldn't be any...complications. Elijah KingsleyStella Kingsley
