It has been a long, tense day across the length and span of Ethea. Thousands of citizens of every race have gathered together to show their support for their side of the issue. The cacophonous swell of opposing voices fills the air as each side attempts to drown out the other with the sheer volume of their voices. While the day has passed with few incidents, tensions are high and the people are restless. Hours have passed since the polls first opened and the hour in which the results will be revealed. A loud, clear voice cuts through the noise like a knife, demanding the attention of all in attendance. “Ladies and Gentlemen, citizens of Ethea, if you would please direct your attention to the screen for just a few moments, the voting results have been compiled and we are ready to announce the conclusion. A hush falls over the gathered crowd and hundreds of individual faces turn to face the gigantic holographic display or towards the monitors by which those not in attendance have tuned to watch the historic event. 00:00:0500:00:0400:00:0300:00:0200:00:0100:00:00The hologram shifts from the image of a clock and displays the results. The law has been passed. In a split second's timing uproar follows. One side rejoices while the other laments; all raise their voices in either praise or disgust. DAGOSAn overjoyed man in his late thirties flings his arms in celebration, losing his grip on the camera he’d been using to record the event. The device flies straight and true as though guided by the hands of fate itself and strikes one of the opposing protesters. The young woman falls flat, bleeding from a head wound. Outrage follows and all semblance of order is lost. The overzealous are the first to react, flinging themselves over the concrete dividers that separate the two groups. Fists fly and hateful slurs are shouted as mob mentality takes hold. The fight quickly turns lethal as picket signs are used as clubs and other, deadlier weapons are drawn. FELICIOld men toss jeers and slurs at a group of young magi. One of the members finally has enough and pushes the human away from her with an anger that sparks into minor flames at her fingertips. The reaction of the men is to scream in horror. "She's trying to kill us!" would be the cries heard above all else as they attempt to escape their deaths, all but one who pulls a gun on the woman who had singed his shirt just moments before. From there all sides come in to support the ones they believe to have been the true victim. Hunters, police, representatives of the Runic University, and MLM members who had been stationed there in case of such a reaction. CAMLORNSmaller townships such as Camlorn are slower to descend into madness, but descend they do. Upon hearing of the situation in both the capital and Dagos, local military commanders give orders to suppress any potential riots by any means necessary. Unfortunately, these orders are interpreted as authorization to fire upon both sides and Camlorn follows the example given by the large cities. The scene is one that replays itself in horrifying detail across the land. Many watch in horror as the chaos erupts. Some attempt to flee while others merely watch in utter disbelief, though one thing is shockingly clear. The Second Magi Riot has begun.

[attr="class","oone"] [attr="class","tbbody"]Camlorn had been overly calm. Sure, there was disappointment and shouts of protest but that had been expected either way this had played out. There had been a reason Oliver had been stationed way out here in the country. With one broken arm it had been deemed a safety precaution. Both by his military commanding officer and through the Hunter's Guild. Figured fucking River would get any possible small riots while he was here stuck in corn fields and a daughter who made it impossible to even find a fuck buddy during the trip. So it was quite the furrowing of brows that Oliver responded with when he got an urgent call on his cell. "Seriously?" The Hunter would ask with a strict hushed tone. Absolute mahem was going down back in the cities and he wasn't fucking there. "No, nothing here." Oliver would say, look up across the crowds. However that was the thing with technology. Information spread. Fast. Those mismatched eyes would narrow as he noticed individuals addressing their touch screens; Their attention heavily focused on whatever their phones displayed. "Yet ..." Oliver would correct his previous statement. "I'll call you back." The man pushed the device back into his jacket's pocket. "Maia, stay close to me." Oliver would speak to the teenager still keeping his voice hushed. His free hand hovering above his firearm the Hunter and Military Officer would step forward. "Alright, folks!" He would call out in a commanding voice. He was security after all. This was why he was here. If he get get the crowds watered down perhaps they wouldn't have a similar situation erupt here ... not that that wouldn't be a horrible thing. But with his daughter acting as a cement block tied around his ankle, he'd best be safe than sorry. "We're asking for a calm and collected dispersing --!" A sharp scream would interrupt anything Oliver was attempting to accomplish. "What do you mean Timothy is dead!?!" A woman in hysterics would shrill into her cellular device. Shit. "Folks--!" "It's happening again!" The woman would scream as she nearly fell from her trembling. The earth beneath her cracking in her horror stricken panic. "They're killing us again!" "Ma'am." Oliver would say, moving forward quickly. "Ma'am, I need you to--" "It's happening all over Felici and Dagos!" "It's happening again?!" "I need to get home to my kids!!" "Oh my gods!" Well .... shit. A water magi would lock eyes onto the human. Bum arm in a sling or not, that uniform meant he was the enemy. A water bottle would quickly have its lid tossed aside so the water formulated around his fists. Oliver would snap a glare in the magi's direction, pulling out his gun. "Don't. Think about it." OOC Welp, shit is going South quickly. @maia

Welp. This trip was a bore. The Ikigaian teenager couldn’t even sneak off to get some mocha flavored ice cream like when she had visited this tiny town the time before. No, she had to apparently follow her roommate around like some animal on a lease. She really didn’t like it. Ugh why was this a mandatory training exercise? It didn’t make sense, couldn’t the Ethean government deal with their own problems? Why were the hunters needed? She wasn’t even a full hunter yet. She was barely keeping up in the Ethean language classes,
Maia was currently leaning against one of the building’s walls, mainly nonchalant and unresponsive. She had been given as much free ammo as she wanted for the trip so she had been experimenting with what she could do. She had figured out a pretty neat trick that might just come in handy if this crowd were to become a problem. Combining a double shot of a net snare and a jolting arrow, she found it to be pretty effective on the small animals she had been practicing on. Non-lethal, but made to keep people down. It was strategic, and she liked thinking up new ways of doing things for herself. Especially when it came to her archery. Her eyes were focused on her father as he received some sort of call. That didn’t sound good, even if the Ikigaian could barely understand Ethean, she knew when someone was tense, her father most certainly was.
The teenager would nod as she was addressed. The tensions were high in this place and she didn’t really want to get caught with her guard down. Especially if there were magi In the streets. If the vote went the way she thought it did, the magi would be even more dangerous now, than they were before. Maia didn’t want any more innocent humans to be in danger, because a magi lost their temper. All the more reason for them to be controlled. Her silence would be noted as she kept a hand on her bow, and a hand on her quiver. Just in case.
Then the entire crowd felt a shift as a scream arose. She didn’t understand what exactly was being said, but the teenager heard hysteria. Oh? It seemed someone was dead? That most certainly was not good. Maia would remain silent as she watched her father try to calm the crowd. It wasn’t long before more voices rose and words were jumbled in the Ikigaian ears. The woman was hysterical, she wasn’t going to listen to the man that was trying to speak to her. Maia shifted her stance, it felt like there was going to be a fight sooner or later, and it seemed like it would be sooner.
Maia watched as a riot erupted in front of her. It was good she was semi prepared and when a water magi made his fists into some sort of water bubble Magi would draw her bow on the man. It seemed that her course of action was the right one, especially considering the fact that her father had drawn his gun. “Kill or No?” She had her aim, it was better to ask first though.

[attr="class","oone"] [attr="class","tbbody"]Gasps would ring as the crowd of citizens immediately backed away from the appearance of drawn weapons. Kill or no? The question would be met with a steady hand. "Give what you get." Would be the answer. If they were to try to kill them, why hold back? They weren't there as police officers. There was no government sanctioned oath made to protect and service citizens. Their oath had been made to serve the Goddess Kalidas and to hunt those deemed necessary or worthy. More often than not, the two differing lines would blur into one, hunting down those that ran from the law. The Hunter's Guild had a long history of assisting human kind bring wrong doers to justice. But here, the lines were beginning to part. Oliver's oath had nothing to do with serving the magi citizens of Ethea, it had to do with serving his Goddess. Kalidas was most assuredly enjoying the view of the country's chaos from some heavenly host. Oliver was to see another day so that he might continue to serve his Huntress. That was the priority. The water magi, having two weapons now directed in his way, would lower his hands. The water falling limp into a splash however would not cause a hush amongst the crowd. Not for very long at least. No. On the contrary, a gunshot ringing from somewhere in a distant gathering of a crowd would demand their attention. So drastically did everything change. A crowd of fearful cowerings would shift a majority of them to gathering their own powers. Variances of ammunition would be called upon in what Oliver perceived as a slow motioned stretching of time. Oh, how those mismatched eyes would scan those around. Shit had just gone south, most likely because of the newer recruits getting nervous. Heart beat in his ears, Oliver would snap his gun from the water magi to an earth magi. Before the seeds the woman threw could sprout and potentially bring about bondage or injuries as serious as death, a bullet drilled into her skull. What would happen next would be a series of dodges, shootings, and blood. Maia would hopefully keep up. Any excess threats Oliver would do his best in protecting Maia from but her training would have to do most of the work. A single man could only do so much in the face of a riot. OOC I wrote this practically asleep tbh. Hopefully it doesn't suck LMAO @maia

Maia would nod towards the man that had his gun out and at the ready. If the magi wanted to die, then she would gladly let fly an arrow to do so. She had no qualms about killing those who were dangerous, and lets face it, Magi were the most dangerous. Especially if they wanted to attack her. The girl wasn’t totally heartless though, if the Magi could be taken down peacefully, she would do so. Her newest creation would see to that.
She would turn to the magi who had started the attack, and tilt her head. “Peacefully Stop Please.” She didn’t want to kill Magi, or Humans for that matter, but she was getting graded on this. The Ikigaian teen wasn’t about to fail the only thing she cared about. Her performance was going to show her excellence after all. “Stop being trouble.” The girl was blunt, but she wasn’t wrong. If the magi didn’t want trouble he should stop being trouble in the first place.
The frowning teenager would nod as the water magi that had posed the threat initially stood down. Good. If he didn’t want to cause trouble Maia wasn’t going to go causing trouble. She knew her place here as the backup for Mr. Wynters. She watched as the water fell limp and started to smile, “Thank you.” This would be the first time that Oliver would have heard Maia actually thank someone if he was paying attention.
The smile was short-lived as a gunshot rang out. Her eyes flashed to Mr. Wynter’s gun. No, it hadn’t come from him. She watched as the crowd burst into chaos. Her hands would go into her training as she turned to spot a Fire magi trying to hurl a fireball towards the back of Oliver’s head. Drawing her bow she would let loose a shot that would hit them straight in the eye, and smirk as an electrical current ran through the arrow upon detonation. Another Arrow encased with a net would expand upon a shot to a zero magi’s shoulder. She was going non-lethal as much as she could, but when these heathens started to fire on her, with their various elemental overpowered absurdities Maia would do exactly as she was instructed. Give what she got.
In the face of the riot Maia had moved to get a better advantage point. The building they were in front of had stairs that would lead up above the crowd. Climbing them she kept her back to the wall as best she could. She didn’t want to get cornered or stuck, but she needed a better advantage on the fights that were ensuing in front of her. The teenager would try and take out the small-frys first, those that were attacking would be met with a combination arrow of shock and net, effectively creating a barbed prison meant to immobilize them from moving.
She made sure to watch Mr. Wynter’s back though, even if she didn’t like him or the situation, no one deserved to die at the hands of the dangerous criminals known as the Magi race.

The anarchy continues to sweep through the unfortunate township like wildfire. Hundreds fell from the hard-faced militiamen and the barking of their weapons. Not since the dead rose in defiance of the natural order of things has Camlorn suffered such a devastating blow. Disciplined bursts of gunfire drilled into the backs of the fleeing masses, slaying and injuring many. In another section of town, desperate citizens gather freely weapons and ammo from sporting goods stores and other such venues in preparation for battle. Many had lost family and much of what they possessed months ago and they would be damned if what little they recovered was stripped from them.
Back in the town’s center, the magi that had survived alongside the human citizenry were attempting to hold the militia at bay. Walls of ice and stone sprung into existence while fireballs and flashes of lightning strike down one soldier after another. Some magi focus their efforts on dragging the injured to relative safety so that their wounds may be heal enough to escape the slaughter; many die despite the best efforts of these noble and generous souls.
Faced with a somewhat organized resistance, the militia forces break into individual squads to better face the enemy, for that is what their orders have designated these innocents as. A few individuals become separated from their teammates and thrust into turmoil with nothing but the gear they’d acquired beforehand. Some are fortunate enough to regroup with their fellows and continue the attack; others are caught by rabid mobs of angry citizens and bludgeoned to death; many more are simply unable to safely return and abandon their posts in fear of death.
However the militia had deployed more than just their humanoid forces. Along with the elite teams sent out quell any sort of chaos that might erupt after the vote were large mechanical behemoths. They were easily twice the size of most humanoid men, and composed of harden protective metal made specifically to soak up damage. Only a scant handful had been sent out to Camlorn, where the potential for rioting had seemed the lowest. Once hostility rose, however, the hulking military machines had been tasked with a simple mission:
Eliminate any threats to public safety and protect fellow REM members.
But much like the other REM forces once the riots truly got started, the machines soon started eliminating anyone who acted hostile. Which in turn only increased the amount of blood being shed.
"Warning: lethal force has been authorized. Cease and desist all forms of hostility or be eliminated." The warning rang out from one such mechanical monstrosity as it waded through the streets. Dings and marks were scattered about its metallic form, indicating it had already faced some opposition from magi and human alike. Unfortunately for the assailants it was clear who had won in the end. Now the robot continued on it's mission, lifting an arm towards those who were still fighting. Human; Magi; it didn’t seem to matter as a faint whirring noise started up from within its limb. Bullets shot out of its arm from some inner contraption, turning a few fighting protesting into bloodied heaps that crumpled to the ground. "Targets neutralized. Scanning." The behemoth announced in a voice devoid of tone or emotion. Then it turned its head.
The blue glow of its scanners landed upon two humanoids who had just freshly disposed of magi. They might have been rioters, but the machine did not differentiate. Its HUD locked on the two armed assailants as the machine turned towards them. And with its attention came the still smoking arm, this time pointed towards the duo. "New threats detected. All threats will be neutralized." With that another faint whirring noise came from the entity's arm as it prepared to fire on the two.

[attr="class","oone"] [attr="class","tbbody"]Those that had been approaching them for the purpose of causing them harm were overall either capicitated or dead. Overalll those that had made up the crowd's population were civilians that mostly wished to remain so. Oliver was raising his firearm to dispatch the last of them when the zero magi's minor illusion disappeared with a growing set of eyes. Fear. And it was an emotion that wasn't directed towards him. Oliver's eyes narrowed as he allowed himself to turn, curious as to what was causing such a reaction. Oliver recognized it. The large thing that was turning its attention in their direction. Military sanctioned androids. Nasty ones. Older models had been used during the original Magi riots. The man visibly relaxed upon seeing the sight. Yep, there was the sound of footsteps sprinting away behind him. That zero magi knew what this was. The cavalry had showed up. His job was literally a cake walk at this point. The robot would do all the hard work, which honestly was probably a plus. As much as he enjoyed his field, especially the killing part, it was best to keep that hobby of his hushed. Last thing he needed was some video taping civilian recording his over enjoyment of such a messy task. Such hobbies were best left for more private hunts, shadowed by night or closed doors. As Magi continued to scatter, the hunter would have an unfortunate epiphany. There would go that slight tilt of the head that his co-workers knew him for. Why was the robot facing them? Why was it moving towards them? The perceived enemies of the state had run away. And yet ..... "Maia ..." Oliver would begin, "Get to higher ground. Get to the roof." With a single hand at his disposal, the hunter would work on reloading his gun. Shit, it wasn't just his mind fucking with him. That thing had decided they were its new target. "Now! I need you to shock that thing." The man would say as he hastened to the other side of the cement stairway, taking cover behind them so he wasn't an easy target. If one of his daughter's electrically charged arrows wasn't an easy fix to this situation, he needed to think of something fast. "Shoot and cover, got it?" He'd call, hoping the simpler Ethean was clear enough for the fresh-off-the-boat foreigner. OOC Daughter, solve this @maia West
