“ The Righteous Side of Hell." Daniel continued repeating the process of running, reloading, firing, and turn to run again. He would continue to rinse and repeat the process until he heard Alexandra and her friend directing the group that had followed them into a building. He’d turn to fire one last time to defeat as many of the dogs as he could before finally he move inside and slammed the door shut behind him.
Once inside, Daniel would find the nearest chair and use it to bar the door even as the dogs began circling the building. He would then reload his weapon with rounds tipped in armor-piercing alloys and survey their current surroundings. While he wasn’t keen on the idea of fighting in such closed quarters, it would serve as an advantage to them by limiting the number of angles of attack the pack could exploit. The problem was in the fact that the pack’s numbers seemed to be swelling already and that they’d split their numbers into three separate groups: one in front, one in back, and a third scratching at kitchen window. Three locations, three defenders; it didn’t take long for Daniel to decide on a plan of defense.
“We’ll be alright, kid,” Daniel would say reassuringly. “We’ll just have to hold ‘em off for a bit and they’ve gotta come to us on our terms.” He would draw Frost-Carver from its sheathe and hand it to Shiro. “I’m gonna need to watch the middle and help me and Alex out if any of ‘em get through. Lexie, you watch the back and I’ll take the front. Stay tight and don’t get cocky.”

History won't Thankfully they managed to get inside before the pack reached them. Once Alex was within the house she put down the poor soul she'd slung over her shoulder in the rush. Her breath came heavy now; ragged intakes of breath conveying her exertion. But the house provided them a temporary rest as well as a more defensible spot. Perhaps it wasn't the greatest but it was better than being out in the open. At least here there was only a set number of entrances the dogs could come in through. That at least gave them some advantage. And in a situation like this they ought to take what they could get.
Alex glanced over at Shiro and conjured up a small smile for her. It was as confident and reassuring as Alex could manage for the moment. Fortunately with her father by her side, she felt a little more at ease. Still, this was undoubtably a dire situation. Yet panicking would do nothing for the other civilians. She had to stay strong. For them. "We're going to be ok. We'll get through this. We will." The redhead even went so far as to give Shiro's shoulder a brief reassuring pat before she turned her attention to her father.
They were splitting up to cover the entrances. Daniel would take front and middle with Shiro. Alex would take the back. Though the redhead paused a moment at his suggestion that the blonde also help, once she saw her father hand over Frost-Weaver she eventually nodded. "Understood. Don't do anything risky either." Lexie replied with worry creeping into her voice inevitably. And when she turned towards Shiro, it only grew worse. Once again she reached out a hand to place it on the blonde's shoulder and look her in the eye. "You stay sharp too, miss. " With a little squeeze and a concerned yet genuinely well-wishing smile, the redhead turned towards the back.
"The rest of you barricade yourselves in the bathroom! Don't come out until you hear us knock and say something." Lexie instructed to the remaining members of their group. The last thing she wanted was for them to get attacked during all this. At least having them hide would pull the attention towards the fighting few and not the defenseless ones. As Lexie took her position towards the back entrance, she held up her shield and pointed her spear forward: ready to slice apart any canine that tried getting through to the few she'd sworn to protect.

t was very reassuring for Daniel and Alex to tell her that they were going to be okay. It also helped that the red-head had patted Shiro’s shoulder before turning to her father. Her eyes followed to Daniel as he told her they would have to hold them off. As Daniel went ahead and explained how they would be splitting up, he suddenly had passed her his weapon - Frost Carver; Which Shiro responded with widened eyes. The woman was in no way aggressive nor did she know how to properly wield a weapon. A weapon such as his scared her actually. She hesitantly reached out to take a hold of the weapon’s hilt. Her eyes stayed widened as she looked to Daniel. She had to help them incase any got through… She was positive she could do it. Maybe… Her eyes shifted nervously to Alex who had turned to her. Once again, the red-head had reached out to place a hand on her shoulder and gave it a little squeeze. It was obvious this woman was nervous and so was Shiro. She was too sweet to harm anything, especially an animal. Even if it was rabid or crazed, she couldn’t put anything in harms way. Yet she nodded, eyebrows forming to show she was prepared. “You too,” Shiro stated calmly. As Alex yelled out her demands of the other members of the group, she watched as they all split and moved themselves to different rooms and closed the doors, locking them and preparing themselves for the worst. Shiro herself moved to stand just a couple feet away from Daniel, lifting Frost Carver before her with both hands on the hilt as she watched the front. Her eyes also focused on the middle area of the house, looking to windows and such. Her body was screaming to run and hide as well but she knew well she couldn’t; She had a duty to do and she had sworn to keeping others safe.

As the group prepared for battle they would feel a sense of dread, a chill over coming them. Whether it was the tension, or not, the fighters of the group would feel something else. A gaze, intent from the groups of dogs that were watching their every movement, stalking them. Froth would drip reverently from their open jawed, sharpened teeth, as they awaited a delicious meal that was in their sights.
Without warning the doors that barred entry into the home would be opened, the glass in the windows would shatter, and a loud howl would be heard as the rabid animals would charge into the home, announcing their arrival.
One by one dog would jump in through the open windows, in the kitchen, through the back door, and finally right towards Daniel in the front. They began to fill the house, seven from the front, five from the back, and six from the side. Snarling, teeth barred, these domesticated wolves (dogs) were approaching, and quickly.
From the kitchen our three fighters would hear a blood thirsty scream, as apparently, a dog had gotten through that window as well, to enjoy the meal of an unsuspecting civilian. The group would be faced with a choice, save the kitchen group or turn their backs on the dogs that were charging towards them.
Either way, the group in the back would expand, as a dog pounced towards the think red head. It would dodge any attempt at attacking it back and would try and bite at her ankles. Another would ready a jump to try and take her down using its full weight. Two would wait, to see how the first fared and the last would only growl in apprehension at the situation.
From the front, Daniel would be met with bared teeth and a sense of resilience. If fired at, the dogs would not flee, and instead, keep moving towards the gun wielding human. It was uncanny, but these animals were intent on their meal. Two would attempt to circle him, and three would dodge with an unnatural dexterity any shots that would ring out towards them. The final two would do much as the one did from the back, waiting and snarling in anticipation. Perhaps there was an order to this madness?
As the five jumped through the shattered glass windows from the living room, they moved forward, towards the tiny human that was holding the magical ice kukri. All five would charge, intent on taking out the perceived weakest link on the team.
The rest of the dogs would begin to swell the house, as they came through the entrances that would have become available. the far left wall, on the side of the bedroom and bathroom, would begin to shake, it's formation being pulled in a direction, away from the foundation of the house. Soon, a hole would form, the wall falling from the outside, allowing more and more dogs into the house. Soon enough it would be overwhelmed, and the civilans devoured.

“ The Righteous Side of Hell." Daniel turned at the first sign that their shelter had been compromised and stared in disbelief at the door that had flung itself open. The moment would be short-lived as the hunter dropped into a firing stance and fanned the hammer of his revolver, aiming his shots at center mass. He’d then present his runic weapon in challenge to the rabid dogs.
“Raze-Lighter!” Daniel would shout. A torrent of flame would pour forth from the weapon as the dogs with the dual intent to roast any that remained alive and block the entrance with a wall of flame. When the breaking of glass and the subsequent scream reached him, Daniel would briefly note the new complication before returning his attention to his own problem. One or two civilian deaths was perfectly fine with him; his daughter and subordinate rated higher in his mind than some random people off the street and he couldn’t afford to focus on more than one threat at a time. There had to be something that was driving these dogs, or rather someone. This sort of behavior was unnatural; even animals should’ve known not to stick their noses where it hurt.
The elder hunter hadn’t even gone through the possible list of causes when he heard a side wall collapsing in on itself. Even more of the dogs began pouring in through the new opening. Daniel would snarl at this newest development as he holstered his revolver and drew another handgun loaded with explosive rounds. He would fire into the pack while he shouted to Shiro.
“Point that weapon at those dogs!” he would order. He’d give the young girl just a moment to obey the command before calling the weapon’s name at the top of his lungs.
“Frost-Carver!” Streams of water would flow from the weapon before snap-freezing, hopefully entrapping any dogs in the frigid embrace of ice.

History won't As the dogs tried attacking Alex, she did her best to keep them at bay. The one consistently trying to get at her ankles she instead battered away with her shield and held it off as much as possible that way. But most of her attention went towards the one pouncing at her. Leveling her spear, she tried using the beast's momentum against it to drive the point straight through its body. If it worked she'd slip the body off her weapon and to the side. Otherwise she'd just bat it aside and keep backing up.
Gods, the screams.
Green eyes were wide with conflict as she glanced towards the kitchen. They were dying in there! The redhead could hear the sounds of some canine tearing apart the few civilians that had holed themselves off inside. More dogs were getting in, especially now that some random hole had torn itself through one of the exterior walls. That already was sending off warning bells in Alex's head that this whole situation wasn't normal. But right now most of her attention was being pulled towards the sounds of carnage going on not to far from her.
I have to help them! Was the first thought that had come to her mind. Yet Daniel hadn't raised a girl completely controlled by her emotions. She could see the numbers were against them and going off on her own would be sure suicide. Plus there was something else: Daniel and the girl need me! Without Alex, the other two would have to deal with the dogs coming in from the back as well. Which did Alex value more? The lives of a few citizens or her own father?
The hand gripping the spear clenched tightly until her knuckles were tight. Alex kept backing up towards the two others, battering away any of the canines trying to get at her. Tears were swelling in her eyes as she realized she had no choice. Not really. Furiously blinking them away, the redhead's face contorted with her frustration. The attacks she sent out towards the encroaching dogs held more power behind them. Now she was attacking with the sole intent to kill these monsters. These...bastards! Lexie channeled her anger to make sure whatever hound came close enough either died or got quite the injury.
All the while she moved back closer towards Daniel and Shiro to make their circle more tight-knit. She could hear Daniel call out the words to one of his special weapons. Out of the corner of her eye she could see the ice wall go up. Hopefully that would catch and keep out a few of these beasts. But still. "Dad! Something is wrong with these dogs! There's got to be some reason for how they're acting!" None of this was natural. Why would they be so keen on following them in here? And what about that wall suddenly bursting inwards? A pack of feral dogs was strong, but not strong enough to punch through brick and mortar. Plus their tactics just seemed too...
Wait a second.
Alex remembered that some hunters could bond with certain animals. Perks of having a hunter for a father; you learned a few things. While it was a bit of a long stretch to think about… was it possible to bond with many animals at once? This was a world where magic was a reality… Which then started giving Alex an idea. Maybe she was grasping at straws here, but at this point the situation seemed to peculiar and dire to scratch it out. And the evidence they had was beginning to point somewhere. “Look for someone controlling them! Some sort of leader that’s probably outside!"
Because why go into the frey when you could send minions instead from a safe distance?

ear. Didn’t everyone have that? Obviously not. Alex and Daniel didn’t seem to show any fear at all when putting themselves up against these savaged wolves. She feared the wolves, the eery feeling she had. She knew they were out there, waiting. Not patiently… That was quite apparent when the door of the home they had gotten themselves inside had opened. No one touched it. The wolves couldn’t have done this so what was happening? She couldn’t even think on that as she heard windows shattering. Her eyes widened at how crazed they looked. Daniel made it look so easy as he battled the crazed dogs. At the sound of the scream, Shiro’s body crashed. She could feel everything inside her being squeezed. She began to panic slightly, looking between both Alex and Daniel. Were they going to save them? Could she save them…? The woman was half tempted to go for it but with the amount of dogs that were entering the home she could not afford to do such. She was not going to abandon her post, even if it meant the death of a couple humans she could have possibly been able to save. As the woman stood struck with fear, she saw how intent the dogs were. They just kept coming. Daniel was shooting and firing weapons at them. Not even flames were stopping them. These dogs were being controlled by an unknown source. the flinging of the door. Her entire body shifted when she heard the wall from the side completely be pulled apart and fall to allow more dogs to enter. Fear struck her harder. Sophia didn’t even question Daniel. She lifted the weapon to the dogs. His voice rang out a name and she watched as water flowed from the weapon and froze, possibly trapping the dogs. The young hunter shifted her gaze as she noticed Alex had moved herself closer to the two of them. A leader? Sophia’s eyes flashed to the fallen wall and outside. Her eyes moved to windows, the door, looking for any possible sign of an individual. Her arms lifted to swing at any dogs that were not entrapped by the ice that came from the weapon, hopefully the weapon hitting a dog that didn’t get trapped. She was doing the best she could.
