While Aiden was playing Twister with the Mad Magi that was moving like an out of control train, Kaveri took a more subtle approach to the whole situation. He wasn’t much of a fighter just of yet with very little combat experience. Going straight into battle wouldn’t do him any favors like it would Aiden. He would have to take a different approach to the situation. His gaze scanned the area around them to locate one single person he had a very big bone to pick with, the Inn Keeper. He was in there somewhere with everyone else who seemed to be far more interested in the human below.

Good, Aiden could keep all of their attention away from him for the time being. This whole situation was beyond ridiculous. Whatever happened to simple traveling plans that got you to point A to point B without someone trying to murder you? Apparently, it was difficult.

At last he finally located the Inn Keeper, standing in front of the group looking like he just had himself a large steak presented in front of him. He too was far too focused on Aiden and it seemed like everyone kind of forgot there was a magi that traveled with him. Perfect. Kaveri would patiently wait for the right moment and that moment came far to quickly, Aiden put down the magi then promptly took off while yelling at him. Well, that was a bit uncalled for, he didn’t have to yell at him. He was doing his best in a safe place. Snarkily, he repeated Aiden’s words under his breath at the same time he dropped the ice he had once created in a snap.

Water crashed into the grass with a large splash as if someone just emptied out a bucket without warning. In the mist of its splashing it would harden out into spikes that covered the ground and moved upwards. Kaveri didn’t bother to watch the after effects, he didn’t have the stomach for bloodshed. Dropping from his tree he simply heard the effects the ice had on the mindless rushing of those coming to towards them. The Inn Keep was the first to become impaled on the sudden rush of ice spears with many others following suit, unable to slow themselves of move out of harms way. Ice spread out and covered the area, allowing the two of them a head start and a chance to escape from this insanity.

Rushing up beside Aiden, Kaveri barely spared him a glance but the ever present snark of the priest fully remained in tact. ”How about we just get the hell out of here while they play a game of Slip and Ouch?”

The amount of running they had accomplished this day was utterly unbearable. Aiden had to almost literally pull the small magi along just to keep him going. He didn’t sit down in front of the fire until Aiden pretty much told him he could. Once there, he wouldn’t be moving again. Both feet ached, his legs burned and he was more then tired. He was flat out exhausted and wanted nothing more then to sleep. With the recent events he found it extremely difficult to relax enough to even close his eyes. The blade he carried now rested to the side of him within easy reach for either him or Aiden. Provided on who had the quickest reflexes, one of them would be armed if need be. Kaveri was completely out of magic and would not be able to produce anything if attacked again.

Sighing softly as the time went by, Aiden who had gone to fetch dinner, would eventually return to find the jelly huddled up near the fire. Knees bent with his chin resting on them for support and arms gently holding his legs. No words where exchanged on his return and he was only greeted with a small and very tired smile. After a while and not in the mood to see rabbits being cleaned he merely kept his eyes on the flame to become lost in his own thoughts for a good while. Eventually, he had stopped thinking on the events and started to drift into a mindless state with no idea that Aiden had been staring at him the whole time. If he had taken notice it would be a safe bet to say he would be a light bulb by now and declaring for him to stop looking at him. It wasn’t that he disliked being looked at by the dishonored hunter. No, not at all considering he actually enjoyed it. It was merely the fact it made his heart flutter that would lead to his discomfort. He had every notion to eventually tell Aiden about his feelings but the uncertainty of being rejected kept him from doing so. Kaveri was positive he wouldn’t be able to handle that very well if it really was just a one sided affection as he thought it might be.

He knew for a fact that he wasn’t the most easy person to love with his snaky comments and death glares. It could be considered pretty off putting when it was directed towards someone, especially Aiden. Though he would like to think Aiden was rather fond of him and not wanting to go their separate ways as soon as they arrived at their destination. His thoughts seemed to jump to from one subject to the next with the same theme: How to tell Aiden how he felt before they reached Dagos. The answer didn’t come to him.

But what did was Aiden’s voice, it snapped him straight out of his thoughts with a small jump. ”Hm?” If there was anything else to that sentence he hadn’t heard. Raising his head from his knees to look at Aiden he was caught off guard. Before he knew it, Aiden was in his personal space with his sense on high alert. About a million questions went through his mind all at once but none came out vocally. Everything just seemed to have either shut down or went into overdrive to try and comprehend what was happening.

Luckily, what the mind couldn’t fathom the body could. The very moment their lips pressed together Kaveri was returning the kiss. What was supposed to be a sudden and possibly quick motion turned into something much longer. Everything that had been building up for so long in the tiny jelly finally found its escape. A single multicolored hand tangled itself into snow locks as the kiss seemed to have found itself becoming much deeper. It would last for a good moment until a tiny alarm sounded off in the jellies head. Wide eyed and bushy tailed the magi pulled back, hand and all, to stare at the human he pretty much semi lip molested. That glow that was mentioned before came back in full force as he stuttered for something to say, anything at all to make sense of the matter.

”I, uh, um. Ah, Aiden…?” Yeah, that wasn’t working out too well at all. He was clearly embarrassed by his own actions he couldn’t think of anything to say. He had urges in the past to kiss the idiot he never though that said idiot would be the one kissing him, ever. Now, he just hoped Aiden hadn’t done that just to pull his leg or get a raise out of him.

All he could do was stare at Aiden. All the words he wanted to speak couldn’t quite reach his lips. They remained elusive to him even as he watched Aiden, in what he saw as a smirk, and lay out on the cool ground to dig in his bag. What had just happened between them was having a hard time processing through the jellies brain. A single hand reached out partly towards the prone male and came to a sudden stop to return to wrap around his bent legs before Aiden could look at him again. Tearing his gaze away he turned towards the fire for answers.

Had he just messed up by taking that kiss a bit too far? Honestly, he hadn’t even planned that or to further that moment but damn he wished he hadn’t pulled back. Resting his chin back on his knees his left hand worked itself through his glowing locks. Pulling, tugging, and twisting the locks in deep thought on how to handle the situation. Surely, Aiden wasn’t just screwing with him with that kiss? It didn’t feel like he had been and if he wasn’t then what did it mean? Glacing at the other, he waited to see if anything might be said and when nothing disrupted the silence he turned back to the flames, his gaze moving towards the smoking rabbit.

Time passed without an interruption, he took no notice of Aiden occasionally looking at him as he tugged at his multicolored locks. The glow started to fade but only by a shade or two around the conflicted magi. His attention was finally returned to reality when the rabbit was presented in front of him. Taking it with a small thanks he merely held onto his meal idly, not eating. He just sat there in the same manner until he finally crossed his legs and picked at the rabbit idly. Taking a small chunk of meat he nibbled on it in thought. The silence between him was murderous.

”You know,” He started finally after a long moment of picking with his eyes lowered. ”You are the most egotistical, smug, sarcastic and reckless human I have ever met. You annoy me sometimes, make me want to pull my hair out and at times I even want to beat you with the nearest object.” A pause in his speech happened as he tired to figure out what he was even trying to tell the human. He wasn’t good at expressing himself or his feelings. He hadn’t been since Calum had died over twenty years ago. The subject he was trying to lead into was difficult and there was no manual on how to do it perfect. ”But you’re also considerate, patient, and honest to the point of being painfully blunt. “ This wasn’t working at all. How come he was so good at giving Cadence advice but he couldn’t follow his own? What made it so hard just to come out and say what he wanted? He liked Aiden to the point that it could be listed under love but admitting it was difficult. Not to mention he was failing utterly in admitting it.

Kaveri sighed heavily, ”No, what I am trying to say is I don’t want you to go off and disappear again when we get to Dagos. “ Again, he was picking at the rabbit like a child who wasn’t sure if he was hungry or not when clearly he was indeed extremely hunger. This was frustrating beyond belief. ”Actually, that isn’t right either. I mean, it is right. I don’t want you to go wondering off to Goddess knows where. I just…” Just what? Why is it so hard to just get to the damn point of the matter here. He could feel the heat raise into his cheeks which would also mean his glow would be giving him away. Goddamnit. That was the one thing he hated about himself, being a florescent light blub that gave everything away so easily.

”IthinkImightloveyourgoddamnannoyingass.” The phrase came out so quickly it was impossible to separate the words from each other. It was just a word vomit of hell that came out without any real control. That poor rabbit that was meant to be a meal was being so heavily picked at that it looked like some wild bird came by and destroyed it.

Out of all of his one hundred and twenty five years of life he certainly had to chalk this one moment as part of his top ten most stressful moments in his life. He just wanted to take the nearest object, which would be the rabbit, and beat himself in the head with it. He didn’t do it though but the urge remained. Never had he felt so stupid in just uttering out his feelings like a bashful teenager to someone. Granted, telling Calum wasn’t easy for him either back in his youth. He couldn’t remember nor could he compare really how that went down with his current situation.

Staring down at the meal in hand he pulled a piece off and shoved it into his mouth probably too quickly but he needed a distraction. There was no way in hell he could make eye contact with the ex-hunter now. He was being far to quite for Kaveri and when he did start talking the magi froze solid like a block of ice. He had every expectation in Aiden either laughing at him or rejecting him, softly he would hope. His little cheeks puffed out at being called religiously-fanatic priest but he kept his mouth shut. At least that was only a being impression and not one that stuck around long.

Taking a deep breath he stabbed his spick back into the ground near the fire to keep the rabbit warm. He just didn’t feel like eating now even though the rabbit was pretty satisfying. Plopping his hands in his lap he was certain he was going to have to deal with himself handling a rejection. But what just tumbled out of Aiden Garnette’s mouth was not what Kaveri thought he was going to say. Oh no. Heaven’s no. He was completely wrong this whole time. His head snapped so fast to stare at Aiden he was almost certain his neck might of just broken.

It seemed like Aiden had the same feelings for him as he did. That was actually pretty surprising for the ever glowing jellyfish. ”You wha?” The rest of the sentence didn’t quite get formed. For one his lips were currently very busy with Aiden’s own and his mind just kinda exploded. The over whelming amount of relief and happiness he felt flooded through him so quickly that the only way his body could express it was to glow like an overpowered nightly. Arms wrapped themselves around the ex-hunters neck with no plans of letting go anytime soon. Not until the sun finally decided to come up and bare down a “Oh, Good morning everyone!” light show that would offended anyone who had a rough night and roll about in the grass.

Sleeping out in the woods wasn’t quite the priest taste in sleeping arrangements but it wasn’t something he was against. Especially, when the night took a much more enjoyable turn of events that forever convinced him that sleeping under the stars was a good thing. As long as he had the proper company for such an outing. Unlike his lover, he was in less of a daze with the whole situation and fully content. It was a relief to know all of his anxiety and fears were for not. He was also perfectly content in not moving anytime soon at all with Aiden being his personal pillow for as long as the other would allow it. They would eventually have to get up which was something Kaveri wasn’t looking all that forward too. He much rather lay here in his hazy fog with his head against Aiden’s chest. Having started to fall back to sleep the only sound of displeasure that came from him when Aiden moved, was a groan.

He didn’t bother trying to keep him down, though he did try to further the kiss miserably, and merely flopped back on the soft grass. He remained that way for a good while as the fire was being put out and things organized. Eventually, Kaveri stirred and felt around the area around him for his clothing. Nope, not near by and with that he sighed. Getting up at last he went about finding his attire and slipping it back on with a yawn. ”All ready? The suns just barely up.” Another yawn would be the end of his sentence. Now fully dressed his dark hands would move throughout his rather messy hair to try and tame it.

A look of confusion touched his soft features with a ting of pain. Making a rather sleepy and annoyed whine he proceeded to pull out not one but two twigs out of the rainbows. He looked at them for a moment and then tossed them over his shoulder. Again, he combed through his hair and once it was looking semi normal he would then gather his bag and sling it over his shoulder. Only to notice that there was another twig in his locks and this one was wrapped around in the back where he couldn’t quite reach. Still, he tired to remove it and once he realized he was failing he came up to Aiden. Head resting against his chest he would whine, ”I can’t get it out of my hair, Aiden...” What he meant to say was, “Aiden, please get the twig out of my hair cause I cant.” But instead he just made another noise and snuggled into the taller male. Clearly, Kaveri wasn’t ready to go anywhere just yet even though they really needed to get moving.

He would much rather remain here and enjoy their moments together in peace away from prying eyes, hunters, magi, and well everyone else. Kaveri wasn’t sure if he was ready to return to reality just yet. For the first time in a very, very, very long time he was happy. His heart remained fluttering around in his chest, the butterflies in the stomach. It was a feeling he didn’t want to let go of and he fear that once they arrived at their destination it might suddenly disappear. ”I am ready, just not ready at the same time.” He mumbled into the fabric of the man’s shirt.

A small whimper came from the jelly with the removal of the twig. Stupid hair. Stupid nature. His locks seemed to love to grab hold of tiny twigs and leaves during the night. To be honest, he probably looked more like an earth magi then a water at that point until Aiden fished out the remains. Nuzzling the other he only made a small sleepy noise. What did it matter if they just stayed here a little longer? There was no rush to get back to Dagos, well, other then getting away from all the dangerous that lurked on the roads. ”Nnn, that’s your fault.” He countered weakly. ”And that is also, your fault.” Chuckling, he pulled away for a moment to smile at his lover playfully. Having had such bent up feelings for so long had resulted in their rather adventures night that ended with twigs being stuck in the jelly’s hair.

As per usual, Kaveri was preparing to make another comment on the matter though it seemed Aiden found it a good time to silence him with a kiss. There was no objections to this notion. Free hands made their way into silver locks. Working through them with equal enthusiasm as the kiss they shared. Kaveri had no real intent to break away and furthered it as a way to try and take charge of the situation. If Aiden wasn’t careful he would most certainly have a particular priest in his lap and then they certainly would have a change in travel plans.

A small whine once again left the priest with the breaking of the kiss. His hands returned to the man’s shirt. ”Mmm, if I recall I did tell you a while back that you're always welcome to my place. Offer still stands.” Pff, Aiden might be a pain in his ass off and on but a burden he was not. Staring up, he narrowed his eyes slightly before rolling them. Dramatically, he peeled away from his love to allow him to take care of business. As he walked away, Kaveri promptly curled around his bag to use it as a snuggly pillow. ”Nn, you are a ruiner of the moment!” He called out half-heartly with a grin. This was nice, he finally felt at peace minus the fact he was still very tired from using so much magic the other night. It truly had worn him out completely and then their little rumping just added to it.

By the time Aiden returned, Kaveri would finally be up and ready to go. Arms behind his head he let out the cutest little yawn while stretching his arms towards the sky. Ruffling his hair (now stick free) for the final time he made an instant beeline to him. ”This is when I wish the wilderness could provide a big mug of coffee.” Blinking a few times, his legs finally started pushing him forward and boy did that hurt. Much like his companion, his legs were both stiff and sore as hell. ”This covers my exercise for the next week.”

Adjusting the strap of his messenger bag he would turn only for a moment to look at Aiden with a half smile. ”It’s not imposing if your invited. Hehe, well I am sure I can find ways for you to pay me back, if that’s what you want.” Now that amused him, Aiden living under the same roof as him when he felt like it. He wouldn’t mind if he just stayed there forever. But the idea of him doing dishes just cracked him up a bit on the inside. He couldn’t picture him doing anything domestic in the slightest. Oh, that would be something to look forward to and tease him about on a later date.

For now, they just had to focus on reaching the city in a timely manner. Hoepfully, this time without any more overly exciting events. Kaveri could live without having to fight any other insane people. A nice quite waltz through the woods sounded much better right now. Rubbing the sleepy from his eyes he turned his attention to dig in his bag. ”Heh, yeah I don’t think they grow in these parts either.” Agreeing with the other with a small nod. Finding the hair tie he was looking for he quickly gathered his lengthy hair for a quick ponytail. Stopping in mid flip of the hair he gazed over at Aiden with a raised brow. ”A potent aphrodisiac? Oh, yes, that’s really what I need first thing in the morning.” He chuckled. ”We wouldn’t be getting anywhere anytime soon.” There was a slight pause in his thoughts before finishing his final loop of his hair tie with a snap. ”But then again, the drink itself is pretty tempting.”

Giving his hair a small tug width wise to make certain of its tightness he would then drop his hands to hold the strap of his bag. Walking at a pace that matched his campaigns he took to looking around. The woods, with its large open areas here and there, had a the last remains of fog disappearing meaning there was a water source near by, possibly a small creek. The animals over head seemed to chatter with birds leaping about on the ground looking for that early worm. ”Mmm, I might if we come across it. I’m not always a morning person sadly.”

Stepping over a fallen tree with a small hop in his step, he turned towards the ex-hunter. ”So, how far away do you think we are again?” Taking a step backwards he hopped off the log, twisted on the ball of his heel to return to walking in a forward direction.
