[attr="class","burst"] [attr="class","whitenight"] ❝ Audrey had a bad habit of frequenting all the different bars in Felici and Dagos City. She knew this, but she travelled a lot. That came with the side-effect of wanting to try the different specials. However, the bar on the boardwalk at the port was different. She'd been here before, but she felt like coming back because it was lovely. It was like a traditional tavern, and they had the BEST fishsticks she had ever tasted. And so back she came. The blonde walked in the door, her hips swaying as she strode up to the bar counter and sat herself on one of the bar stools before ordering herself a fine ale. She didn't enjoy paying for things. Taking money out of her wallet was both a process, and a painful experience. She liked her money, and damn if she didn't work hard killing people to get it! That said, a good ale was well worth the money. When the bartender poured it she thanked him and took a sip, sighing with contentment as she placed the tall glass back down on the counter in front of her. That's when she ordered the fishsticks. She'd come here with an appetite after all. Unfortunately, the bartender informed her, they were out of a couple of the ingredients needed for their famous fishsticks. They had plenty of fish, that wasn't the problem. But they couldn't make them 'cause they ran out of other stuff. Audrey shook her head, her blonde ponytail shaking slightly with the action. "Alright I guess I'll have the fish burger then. You can make that can't you?" The man nodded and she sighed with relief. It was bad enough that the fishsticks were gone. While she waited for her meal, Audrey looked around the bar as she liked to do wherever she went. It was interesting watching people. They all acted differently. Some of them were a puzzle waiting to be solved, while others were easy to guess but shared some traits with herself. The latter, she supposed, was a form of cheating. But it was her own game so she thought the chances of her cheating was slim anyways. She saw a woman with striking black hair and the palest skin she had seen in her life. Audrey's emerald green eyes sparked with interest. She gave a small wave just in case the person was also looking at her. Nothing lost in being friendly after all. | [attr="class","white"] [attr="class","night"] [attr="class","burstmini"]@someone2 [attr="class","burstmini"]420 words [attr="class","burstmini"]notes: Thought Audrey should be friendly haha |

And what's good When both choices I've got Have us staring down the barrel to the bullets I can't stop?
There was a lot on her mind. Too much on her mind. It was late in the evening, and all Eraya knew was that she needed some peace of mind. The bars she frequented couldn't offer that right now. Too much risk of running into familiar faces. She needed a place out of the way, on a path less traveled. She found herself on the road approaching the beachfront. Her motorbike hummed under her as she drove steadily down the road, lost in road as well as in her muddled thoughts. She saw a sign, lit up and advertising drinks, and the building itself seemed quite... cozy. Something that wouldn't get much of the public in the downtown areas to visit, something more appealing to temporary people, people visiting the city or passing through. Either way, it fit the niche that Eraya needed tonight. Parking her bike in an appropriate place, she slung her leg off it in a smooth motion, removing her biking gloves from her hands. Depositing the gloevs inside the pocket of her black pants, she loosened her black leather jacket since now that she was on foot, pulling the zipper down the middle to reveal the deep blue tank top she wore underneath the jacket. She ran her hand through her hair to give it some more freedom, since it had been cramped underneath her biking helmet, untangling some of the locks and letting it breathe easier. With that done, she walked around to the entrance of the tavern. Entering it, Eraya had to admire the rustic architecture and design of the place. She gave the entire room a quick once-over, registering that several patrons were smoking. That gave her an edge of satisfaction as she reflexively began to fish her pack out from the pocket of her pants. As she lit up a cigarette to her lips, her eyes rose up to skim the bar. They caught on a fair woman with fairer hair, whose vivid green eyes met Eraya's frosty ones. The woman peaked Eraya's curiousity minutely, but her interest was caught when the woman raised an arm to wave at Eraya. Breaking their gaze and giving the tavern another once over, Eraya decided that some company would be appreciated, especially after such a tiring and stressful day. She made her way over to the bar, eyes locked on the fair woman, studying her as she approached, giving her the usual but unintentional scan for any weapons. Eraya herself had left her handgun with her bike, carrying no weapons aside from her usual emergency knife, tucked into a hidden sheath on the inside of her right boot. Taking a seat on the bar stool next to the fair woman, she focused her gaze forward as the bartender passed her an ashtray, Eraya raising one hand in gratitude, using her other hand to ash the cigarette. She looked at the woman who she sat next to out of the corner of her eyes, turning her head only slightly. "What's good here?" Eraya asked, her voice low and casual yet not outright warm nor cold. Just a stranger striking up a conversation with another.

[attr="class","burst"] [attr="class","whitenight"] ❝ Audrey's gaze traveled over the person, They seemed unarmed, but Audrey knew from experience weapons were easily hidden. She herself had two knives hidden on her. Sheathed, but there nonetheless. She did not like being without a weapon. It was her only way to defend herself after all. Audrey was already going to have enough trouble after a few beer, it would be more difficult without actual weapons. She didn't exactly want to put herself in that situation. She heard the question about what was good and Audrey grinned. "Pretty much anything involving fish. Probably because they're near the docks but yeah their fishsticks are pretty amazing. However, they've run out of ingredients so they aren't carrying the fishsticks today. Their fishburger is ALMOST as good though." She supposed introducing herself was probably the polite thing to do. "Name's Audrey, apparent bar connoisseur, fan of fishsticks and ale. Speaking of which, if you're a fan of fine ale you're in the right place for that as well. They have a few really good ales from Wuld and Strun breweries that they import. Craft ones." Both countries were superb at brewing. "The one I have is Strun, Rock EisenAle it's called technically." She shrugged and took another sip of her drink, smiling. There really was a reason she kept coming back to this place. "What brings you to the docks of Felici, if I can ask? I'm here on a downtime between mercenary contracts personally." She'd always been taught that it was only polite to volunteer the answer to your own question first in conversation. Supposedly made other people feel more at ease with answering if they already knew your own answer. | [attr="class","white"] [attr="class","night"] [attr="class","burstmini"]@someone2 [attr="class","burstmini"]290 words [attr="class","burstmini"]notes: |

And what's good When both choices I've got Have us staring down the barrel to the bullets I can't stop?
The woman seemed to have a very open personality, something Eraya appreciated at the time being. It allowed for some easy conversation and company, and Eraya could feel herself relaxing slightly as she turned her head to fully face the woman now, leaning forward on the bar table, with her elbows on the surface and bent at 70 or so degrees, the arms crossing over one another near the wrist, her cigarette held in between the first two fingers of her right hand. A casual posture of relaxation.
She nodded in acknowledgement as she then met the barkeeps eyes, who came over to her. "I'll have what she's having." Eraya said, the barkeep expressing an affirmative before bustling off to get some ale for her. She then turned her attention back to Audrey, her eyes giving Audrey's face a cursory scan, to associate the face with the name she introduced herself with.
"Pleasure." Eraya said in response to Audrey's introduction, breaking off as the barkeep came back over with her drink, Eraya muttering her thanks to the man and clasping one hand on the container of her drink. She then continued, "My name's Lieutenant Colonel Eraya. Military, Ethean Government."
She stubbed her low burning cigarette into the ashtray before taking a sip of the drink she had ordered, her eyebrows raising in slight surprise after the sip. "Wow, that is quite good." She said, musing over the flavor that the drink had left in her mouth. Already, she felt a cozy warmth in her midriff slowly emanating, and so she took another sip while listening to Audrey's next line of conversation. Eraya's curiousity was peaked when she heard Audrey's mention mercenary, but she decided to answer what was asked first as she made gesture involving a slight rock of her head and rise of her shoulders; a very subtle shrug.
"Just been quite a tiring and stressful day. Wanted to get away from the hubbub of the city." She answered, one hand unconsciously reaching up and pushing some of her dark bangs out from her face, tucking it behind a ear.
"Judging from your line of work, I take it you're on the road a lot." Eraya said, before taking a this-time generous sip from her mug, waiting for Audrey's answer before continuing, "Do you live in Felici? Or just come here often on your free time if you happen to be nearby?" She paused before adding, "I live here, in a small flat in Mezzo Boulevard. Rarely ever travel out of town, I'm afraid. Work keeps me planted in an office in the city, and I haven't gotten any assignments for quite a while now." Seeing as Audrey had been answering her own questions first out of courtesy, Eraya figured she'd return the favour as well, as she waited for Audrey's response, taking another sip of her drink in the process.

[attr="class","burst"] [attr="class","whitenight"] ❝ Audrey watched as the woman ordered the same thing and the barkeep came back with her drink. In addition, the barkeep brought back her fish burger too. Yum. Audrey was hungry, so it came at the very best time. She heard the introduction. Interesting, so they were military. Audrey's green eyes watched as the person stubbed another cigarette into the ashtray and took a drink. So they were someone who liked to smoke when they drank apparently. She heard the comment about the ale and she nodded. If there was one thing Audrey was confident in it was her taste in beer. So they were tired and winding down. "Yeah this place is good to relax in, I'll admit. It's a nice atmosphere to hang out around." She heard the questions and nodded. "I'm on the road a lot for the contracts yeah. But I live here in Felici, in Pauvres Square. I could probably afford Mezzo, but I am cheeeeaaapp. I travel a lot, so a cheap place works the best for me. I travel between Felici and Dagos City a lot too." So less assignments huh? The blonde found that fact interesting. "Ever thought of taking some mercenary contracts to bide the time with? I find they're good for boredom. And hey, the pay isn't too bad either. I'm sure someone who's military would have no trouble finding jobs. I mean I don't, and I'm not military. Just military training from Victor's in Fokradiin." They'd already shared their information about the military they served, so Audrey didn't mind saying that herself. Then she adjusted her ponytail so it wouldn't get in the way, before taking a bite of her burger. Mmm it was as good as she remembered. And what's good When both choices I've got Have us staring down the barrel to the bullets I can't stop?
Eraya hadn’t given her burger much attention, but now that the smell wafted up to her nose, she gave it an apprehensive look. She had never been much of a fan of fish. But she gave it a try as she bit into it somewhat hesitantly. She winced almost imperceptibly at the fishy taste that first hit her taste buds, but the flavours that followed was surprisingly good. Savoury. She found herself liking it and gave the burger an approving look before setting it back down and turning around to face the blonde woman, listening to her. She figured that it was a smart decision to live somewhere cheap if one would be travelling a lot. Eraya shrugged as she said, “I can understand that. I get enough from my job that I’d probably be able to afford a better place. But it’d just be unnecessary.” A wry smile came onto her face as amusement gleamed in her eyes while she added, “It would just add more rooms and furniture to clean.” She registered that the woman did indeed travel a lot between the two cities. She had been to Dagos City on some occasions, but not much.
Upon Audrey’s idea to take on some individual jobs or contracted work, Eraya shook her head. “I can’t. I hold a somewhat high rank and my seniors would not like me enlisting myself in, what they believe is, a questionable line of work. I don’t share that sentiment though.” She took another sip of her drink before saying, “Regardless, my loyalties lie completely with the Ethean government, so I also can’t personally let myself be distracted from my job by additional work. You never know when a big situation might arise.” She shrugged. “Besides, lack of assignments doesn’t mean I’m not busy. I have to sort through a lot of paperwork, and I also have to work out at the gyms from time to time so I don’t get weaker.” She allowed a small grin to grace her face, “Or worse, get fatter, especially with the amount of sweets I like to indulge myself with.” Another bite of the burger followed the jape as her eyes shifted back to her food for the action.

[break] "Exactly. If you're not gonna use the place that much, why spend all that money on it. Just doesn't make sense to waste the money when it could be better spent on something else that I'm going to use." She also took in the words from the woman about being a higher rank and her superiors probably not approving.
"Well that's a bit of a shame. I know I'd get bored if I were in your position. I hate paperwork. I do some of it, but for the most part I just carry out my contracts. However, if you ever need help on a military job, I'd imagine they probably wouldn't be against a merc joining in so if you ever need help, I'd be open to that. You strike me as a person who would be good to work with." A good...was it a colleague if it was just a one time thing? Audrey did wonder about that. She heard the words about indulging in sweets and she grinned.
"They are indeed hard to resist. Better to work it off than to limit yourself from the pleasures of eating them I say. Gyms can be useful at times. I use them sometimes, in between work contracts. Even if I have a contract, they don't always need peak fitness. But I like to keep myself in that level of shape regardless. Better to be prepared and not need the edge than chance not having it in a situation that could be dangerous, after all." By the second bite of the burger, Audrey picked up that Eraya was enjoying her food. Good. This place needed more publicity and customers. That was another reason why Audrey liked to try new places. New places needed the help and customers, and Audrey was sometimes in a position to suggest places to her mercenary friends. Or, well, regular friends too. Although she had more merc friends than not merc friends. Audrey took another sip of her beer and a bite of her own burger, thoroughly enjoying the flavours that were intermingling.

And what's good When both choices I've got Have us staring down the barrel to the bullets I can't stop?
Eraya mused about what Audrey said as she took another bite of her burger, chewing as she thought on how to respond. “Me joining a merc assignment would be frowned upon, yes… But I could definitely get a Merc to help me on my assignments without any issues, and you seem like you’d be quite helpful when it comes down to it. You'd get paid too.” Her eyes glanced over Audrey again, as she then said, “And I can return your offer, if I think about it. I can’t exactly take on assignments, but if you ever need a hand, I can non-officially help you. They won’t frown at me for helping someone I know.”
A small grin came onto her face as she turned back to her drink, bringing it up to her lips. But right before taking a sip, she added the small quip in an amused tone, “I won’t get paid for it though.”
She was further amused when the woman revealed to be sharing a soft spot for sweets as well. She nodded along with the woman’s words, swallowing the current bite of the burger she was chewing and clearing her mouth completely before saying, “Well any time you’re free in Felici, let me know. I’d love to have a good workout partner, or better, a sparring partner. Maybe we can teach each other what we know.” She turned back towards her drink as she nursed it within her hands, a small smile on her lips, her eyes still holding that entertained gleam to it.
“Most people at the gyms I local are afraid of me, some because they tried to partner up with me in an effort to either show off or feel me up.” She took a hearty swallow from her drink, setting down the cup, a sigh following. And then she turned back to face Audrey with a grin and a glint in her eyes, the kind of glint that women shared with each other. “The latter kind never show up again after their first attempt.” She said with a wink. The drink was definitely warming her up. She wasn’t getting drunk or anything, but it was giving her a pleasant buzz and making her more expressive than she normally would be.

[break] Audrey heard the words about the way around the superiors frowning upon her behaviour. Inviting a merc to help as an extra hand, or helping out a friend wouldn't be frowned upon. Audrey grinned at the thought. But what really caught her attention was the fact she was apparently in a position to get paid if she was invited to partake in a mission with this chick. Payday was always the thing that made Audrey shiver with excitement. It wasn't like she was broke. Oh no on the contrary she saved so she would never be destitute again. But regardless, having some money in her pocket always put a spring in her step.
"Well either way I'm sure it would be lovely to work with you. You seem a reliable sort who knows what they're doing in serious situations." Someone Audrey would be able to readily trust to have her back. She took another sip of her beer and a bite of her burger, chewing thoroughly and smiling once it was down the hatch. She heard the words about being a Felici sparring partner and she nodded.
"A skilled spar partner can be difficult to find, and it can be very important. If you don't have someone who can challenge your skills then the sparring can be largely useless in a sense." She heard the bit about people at her gym being afraid of her and Audrey laughed.
"Those are the worst. Ones who pair up and you have nothing in common but they still try to feel you up. Although...I suppose I am judging purely on imagination because nobody has ever tried funny business like that." She grinned.
"I have bionic forearms and until recently that was visibly apparent to passers by. They have a tendency to scare people away. Either that or they'd discriminate plainly." It wasn't until fairly recently that she'd found someone who didn't care whether she had bionic arms or not. She smiled, thinking of Valkorion with his habit of oozing charm, but at the same time making her feel like she was a treasure. Audrey could easily see why a guy who treated women that way would be immensely popular. She felt very fortunate that she was the woman dating him. But that was another topic completely.
"Well naturally they'd disappear after the first time. They never have the staying power against a woman who both knows what they want, and a woman who knows how to separate the wheat from the chaff." Audrey took another sip of her beer. It was good. She never really got buzzed off the amount she drank. She only had a max of two beers in one sitting anyways so she supposed that was to be expected.

And what's good When both choices I've got Have us staring down the barrel to the bullets I can't stop?
Eraya shrugged as Audrey refered to her as reliable. “Don’t mean to brag, but hand me my sniper rifle or a handgun and I’ll be all you need. But I’m no good up close in a fight. Most of my hand-to-hand fighting style consists of flash-disarms, quick precise jabs and creating distance. If someone gets a hand or grab on me and they’re stronger than me, I’m done for.” She grinned after her words, before taking a sip of her drink.
She chuckled as Audrey commented on the gym partners thing as Eraya turned her eyes back on the fair woman again. “You’re lucky then. Those men are absolutely revolting.” And then Audrey spoke about bionic forearms as Eraya’s eyebrows went up. She turned to look at Audrey again, more acutely, especially down at her arms. But her gaze didn’t linger for more than a second before going back up to the woman’s eyes. Her face didn’t show any emotion other than the one she was feeling; mild surprise. Nothing negative nor positive. “Bionic forearms eh? That must come in real handy.” She didn’t judge the woman at all, simply took the information the woman brought up and accepted it as normal. Like someone saying they had a curious birthmark or could bend a certain joint more than normal. Nothing but mild surprise and curiousity. “I sometimes wish I had something that visible to scare off people. A lot of people do get scared off, but there’s always those few blokes.” She said, shrugging before she went back to her food, finishing off the remainder of the burger. She smiled when Audrey agreed with her. After an entire day spent with Oliver, despite how pleasant it was, she realized that she really liked this contrast. Girls needed other girls to talk to about certain things. “Damn right.” Eraya said, raising her drink and inclining her head down an inch in a sort of casual toast, before taking a drink from it, finishing the last bit of it. Putting the empty glass down, she turned back to Audrey, glancing back at her arms. “So, while we’re on that topic, you look like you’re good at scrapping up close and personal, yeah?” She asked and stated, waiting for Audrey’s response before saying, “Well Audrey, what do you say to having a sparring partner? We can teach each other through each other’s fighting styles. If you want, I’ll also help you get used to firearms, if you need it.” She said, her blue eyes holding a sincerity to them, lacking the usual sharpness she reserved for most people, a sign that Eraya had warmed up to the woman.

[break] Audrey heard the words about her new companion being good with guns and she nodded in understanding. Perhaps this would be even more beneficial to Audrey than she had originally hoped. She already knew a skilled archer. Valkorion was definitely someone she trusted to have her back. She didn't however know someone who was skilled with guns. She imagined the fighting style would go well with her own swordsmanship too. She heard the words about being lucky and chuckled. It was a little dry, but how else was she supposed to react to being told she was lucky for guys not even trying with her. Audrey was used to it by now, even found it amusing sometimes. Besides, it had helped to separate the jerks from the guys who might actually be worth it. She heard the other woman talk about how bionic forearms had to come in handy and Audrey grinned with a chuckle following it.
"Yeah you could almost say they were haannd-y." And for emphasis, she put her hand up and wiggled the fingers with a smirk. She heard the mention of wishing she had something visible to scare people off and Audrey shrugged.
"It isn't as great as you think it is. You don't just scare away the guys who are assholes. You also scare away the nicer people who might be afraid they'd stare. I much prefer them not being visible like they are now. More people talk to me." Audrey ran a hand through her blonde hair, straightening the ponytail elastic before taking another bite of her burger. She heard the question abouther fighting style and then the bit about sparring and Audrey nodded.
"That would be great. And yeah I'm used to fighting close. Either with my sword or with my knives. Purely melee, although I do have a shield too." It was one of the features of one of her bionics to be able to put up a shield. Came in handy sometimes too. Allowed her to rest for a bit mid battle, or to strategize.
"Sounds like it would be fun." ISHY of THQ & ADOXOGRAPHY

[attr="class","life"] ❝ You don't know how to let go Who said this must be all or nothing? [attr="class","les"] E raya stared at Audrey for a total of 5 seconds after Audrey made her pun. A solid 5 seconds of just a flat stare. And then, surprisingly enough, Eraya's facial countenance cracked, starting with a twitch near her left eye, before a full blown chuckle snaked its way out of her. "I can't." Eraya breathed after her short bout of polite laughter, before adding, "I can't keep a straight face at that. That was a good one, I'll give you that."Eraya fished out her pack of cigs and lit another one after she placed it between her lips, taking a soft drag and exhaling it with a half-sigh of contentment. The food and ale filled her up quite nicely. While she took that first drag of smoke, she listened to Audrey talk about how it wasn't that great. Eraya could get that, she understood not wanting to show things. Eraya's eyes darkened momentarily at the thought of her scarred back; that was one thing she was extremely self conscious about. It's why she rarely ever wore anything that wasn't at least half-sleeved. "I can understand that really well." She said as she looked at Audrey, sincerity in her eyes. And then she shrugged, "But in a way, you'll know that people who aren't put off by it are always going to be people who're worth keeping around." A small part of her hoped she didn't come off the wrong way with that; she knew she had a habit of being quite blunt and honest with her thoughts, but she meant well. As the conversation continued into the combat style category, Eraya's eyebrows raised as Audrey spoke about her style. "Wow. I know my way somewhat around close combat, but I'm bad with weapons. I can only use my knife to accent my strikes, and my entire fighting style is built around disarms, fast strikes and creating distance." She kept her gaze on the fair woman as she then added, "I'm sure we can teach each other a lot of things, then." A small smile came onto her lips as she said that, to emphasize the subtle compliment. "You have a phone, right?" Eraya would ask, fishing out her own phone. She fiddled with her phone a bit before offering her phone to Audrey, "Just type in your number so we can contact each other." She said casually, somewhat glad that she had made a new friend, apparently. | [attr="class","goodness"] EQUIPPED: N/A WORDS: 500 or so MISC: |

[break] Audrey saw the twitch first, and then watched as her new friend broke into a bit of laughter at the very corny joke. That's the best situation she could've hoped for, making a serious military woman laugh at a terrible pun. She chuckled herself.
"It was a terrible pun, but I'm glad it made you laugh. Laughter's incredibly good for the soul." She made a point to try to lift spirits. She had no idea whether Eraya needed that, but it couldn't hurt to cover her bases she figured. She watched the woman take out a cigarette and light it to smoke it. Whenever someone smoked, it made Audrey muse. Anyone who smoked was giving fire magi openings in a fight. She supposed though that she could be wrong about that assumption. Audrey hadn't actually met a fire magi and talked to them at length before. At the mention of it not being that great, Audrey could see a bit of a darkening in the eyes of the woman before her. It seemed there was more to this than Audrey had initially thought. She heard that Eraya could understand it really well and Audrey simply nodded to acknowledge she had heard and understood what had been said.
"While it's true that you learn who out of your friends is worth keeping around, people can be real jerks if you have bionics. And they tend to be more likely to show that side of them if they see someone they can take it out on. In addition, if they don't stay around you can't learn the balance of their viewpoint either." It was important to stay openminded and listen to many different viewpoints so you had a variety. You didn't get nearly as wide a range of variety if they didn't stick around though. Audrey heard the observation about Eraya not being as good at close combat and she grinned.
"Victor's Military Academy in Fokradiin tested me to see which weapon I had the best aptitude for. Turned out to be swords and knives. It's all I really use now. I could probably teach you some tricks. If you're wanting to put distance between yourself and an enemy though, it might not work. My style is basically getting in close to someone and taking them out before they realize. I like focusing on stealth, as it's something I've always been good at." She heard Eraya mention phones and she nodded. She was handed it and she punched her number in quickly before handing it back.
"There. You have my number now. Sounds like we could have a good time too." ISHY of THQ & ADOXOGRAPHY

[attr="class","life"] ❝ You don't know how to let go Who said this must be all or nothing? [attr="class","les"] E raya waved away her comment about the pun, saying, “Puns are meant to be terrible; thats why they are funny.” Eraya listened to Audrey explaining how it gives peoples opening to be assholes towards people with bionics and a mix of emotions was evident in Eraya’s glacier blue eyes as she did. There was understanding and compassion for Audrey’s predicament, but also steel and anger at people who were shallow enough to be like that. “It’s a good thing to be open minded, but listening to the views of narrow minded people to be more open minded is redundant.” Eraya said, her voice steeled with distaste against those kinds of people. “The only thing those twats can teach about mentality is to not be like them.” She said, shaking her head disapprovingly. “They all think like that until something happens to them or someone they love which requires bionics to save their lives.” She said bitterly, bitter about the irony of that hypocrisy that people had. They hated Bionics yet bionics saved their lives at times. They hated Magi and yet, a lot of things wouldn’t be possible without Magi. She waved a hand absently at Audrey, saying, “Yeah I figured that’s what your style is, and that’s what I need to learn. You’re good at closing gaps and I’m good at creating distance. We can practice that very easily as I can learn to defend against attackers like that and you can learn to stick to a target who’s like me.” She shrugged as a coy smile came onto her lips. “Stealth is pretty much my thing too. Snipers need stealth, otherwise we wouldn’t really be good at what we do. I am, however, also very good at freerunning.” She grinned. It was one of her hobbies from her younger days that transitioned into a very useful skill in her military career. Being able to reposition or get higher was vital for a sniper, and she excelled at that with her acrobatic prowess. She took her phone back once Audrey gave her her number and gave the number a test call. Once Audrey’s phone rang once, she ended the call, so now Audrey had her number too. “Oh yeah, I look forward to it. I’ve been getting lax on my training since it’s getting monotonous.” She said with amusement in her voice. [break] Meant to be terrible huh? Audrey chuckled at the statement. She'd known her pun was terrible, but someone else saying that was what they liked about puns changed things slightly. Then Audrey could almost feel a crackling in the air as she noted the emotions around Eraya changed quickly. Yet she had a sense the anger wasn't directed at her. Then she spoke and it made it all too clear.
"That's my point though. If you don't listen to everyone's opinions, you don't learn the best ways to not be like them. You also don't have the opportunity to learn that some of your opinions might be just as assholeish. Repeating the past is a mistake we cannot afford to make." Audrey smiled though. Seeing someone passionate about stamping out discrimination made her happy.
"Although I appreciate the sentiment. Their opinions would probably change if they needed bionics to save their lives. But so would we all. Our opinions are meant to change with experience. We can get angry at them for being ignorant, but we also can't forget that they don't have the experiences we do under their belts. That gives us an advantage of sorts." Freerunning and stealth huh.
"Freerunning. I don't know how to do that. Stealth though, I'm good at that. Was good at it when my bionics made noise too, which is more challenging than what it is currently." She smiled. She heard her phone ring once. She had Eraya's phone number now. Perfect. She was looking forward to training with the military woman. At the very least it would fun. She could learn something for sure though. She finished her beer and took the last bite of her food with a smile. Time had flown faster than she had expected. It was time to get a goodnight's sleep before hunting a contract she had tomorrow. Audrey stood.
"Lovely talking to you and I'll definitely take you up on all that. Have a good night." She gave a two fingered wave before turning and striding out the door with a smile on her face and mischief and excitement mixed in the sparkling of her green eyes. ISHY of THQ & ADOXOGRAPHY
