Here's the skinny of it: D2's new job conflicts with all his current D&D games. He bought all those nice, hardback books, and put a lot of time into campaign preparation with the intention of DM'ing for naught... currently. I'd like to change that. I'm knowledgeable about the game (and am part of his former playgroups), and would like to see how much interest there'd be in creating a group amongst us wonderful people.
Whaddya say?

I'd be down, though it would depend on the day / time.

If you guys don't mind dealing with a noob, I'd be down. Might need to wait until there's a schedule or something figured out before I can give a solid "yes", though. ^^;;;

I know zero about D&D besides the alignments... and the fact that there are dice involved, but I'd be interested in learning. I'm a slut for games.

Definitely would like to, but it all depends on the times. Of course, I've not played any 5th Edition, so you'd need to be patient with me. ^^;

I believe D2 would be DM'ing (unless he asks me to), so I PM'ed him to let him know to start thinking about it (and post here). Regardless, I'm quite knowledgeable about the edition. I meant to ask if it'd be alright for me to start posting D&D guides in the General OOC forum, since we have so many interested people who don't know much about the game, but I forgot.

I am always, always, always down to DnD if I can, and this time's no exception. I hope I'd be able to make it! It would definitely depend on time/day for me

Okay, seeing as there is a lot of interest in this, my first task is to ask what day/days of the week would work best for everyone? Next, is what sort of story would everyone like to play? If there isn't a consensues, I have an idea for a campaign.

One weekends works best for me (just not early sunday mornings, as I actually host a campaign then). I can also do late in the evening for weekdays if that happens. I have no personal preference for a specific campaign myself though

I'd prefer a weekend game, as that's when our times best coincide, though Mondays and Fridays are also available. I'd either like a game that's pretty challenging (though that might be best left for after some of these guys learn unless they're willing to really listen to what I have to say and learn quickly), or a more social game that plays closer to Vampire the Masquerade than traditional D&D. Once again, maybe not best for new players, as they'd also have to learn about using downtime actions and whatnot on top of everything else. Either way, I'll probably go straight Illusionist. While it's not my ideal choice, I know I'll have a very good chance of keeping the party alive playing one so long as they don't do anything too stupid! Nah, I trust these guys have good heads on their shoulders, and if they don't? Well, it's not my fault they died. I did all I could. A suggestion that might be more conducive to the nature of play I suspect: that tired old "Guild" idea I always throw around. You know the one, D2. It'd allow us to play, even if some people can't make it, let people build new characters whenever without effecting the story (though I'd rule at level 1), and give interesting party interactions due to level disparity. Of course, it risks having certain players forced to use their stronger characters from time to time to make sure the rest of the people survive their Fun (that's capitalized for a reason), but as the DM you can always adjust the encounters to your party. It'd also allow us to switch DM roles from time to time without interfering with an overarching plot, and you can take plot ideas from many sources to keep content fresh and exciting. Either way, leave getting the players prepared to me. Those interested, my Skype is house.integrity . Please put in your friend request message that you're from Inertia, or I might think you're a bot. Once I get the okay, I'll probably start writing up guides for the forum that you all can read over at your leisure. Let me know if you need anything more from me, D2. EDIT: discord.gg/yU7VMkU A discord group for this.

I've never gotten the chance to play DnD but I've always wanted to try! And if it's some time over the weekend or any day later in the evening that should work for me.

I'm available Wednesday - Saturday after 5PM CST, but I'd have to be done before 10:30. Real life time constraints, and all that jazz.

Weekends are best for me as well. Any time usually will work, evenings are better.
