Drew glanced around the dreamscape, his naturally observant nature unable to ignore the changes to the environment that disrupted the beauty that had surrounded them previously. He turned his eyes back to Arithelia and was alarmed to see that a new emotion was making its way across her youthful face. Something was very wrong here, and somehow he doubted that she was going to tell him what it was. She was going to send him away soon, he was certain, but not without returning the misty wolf of his negative emotions. He bowed his head as he felt it settle back into place within himself. It had been a welcome relief to be without it for just a short while, but he felt whole again. More himself, anyway.
"Thank you, Arithelia," he said, looking at her again. "If there is ever anything that you want of me, you know where to find me."
She touched his cheek, and he found the gesture oddly soothing, in a motherly sort of way. Even if he couldn't remember anything of his mortal mother, Drew could remember the nurse that had been his caretaker in the early days of his imprisonment, and the immortal reminded him of her. There was a connection that he felt with the goddess that didn't seem like it was brand-new, even if he couldn't recall ever feeling it before. Some things transcended memory, it seemed, and that included a connection to the goddess of the Magi.
He could feel the return of the wolf in the depths of his mind as she dismissed him, and as much as he wished he could be there to assist her in whatever the trouble was, he knew his body was back at home asleep still. Goodness, if the time that he'd spent in the dream was proportionate to the time he'd been asleep, it was probably the longest he'd slept in years. Some part of him couldn't help but be disturbed by the thought. He hadn't quite gotten to his feet by the time the other immortal returned, and he felt the wolf's nervousness return. Arithelia might have been the mother of all Magi, but this Nevyne was far from motherly, almost predatory. He'd be careful not to upset this one.
