It was only days ago that a hurricane had it the coast of Felici. A common occurrence with the salt water ocean that laid at their coast, but thanks to the progress of science and technology there were no real casualties. However the same could not be said for the property that had been wrecked by the storm winds. As such her class was taken to the beach to assist with the clean up. It was the duty of those within the Runic college to assist and embody the ideals of Ethian qualities. Despite the consistent work and the satisfying sense of accomplishment that came with the work, but there was a strong sense of uncertainty for herself. Delilah was two years away from graduation and she hadn't given too much thought on her future. Not knowing much options other than becoming a runic professor or an agent of the government. Both were opportunities many would love to have gained, but to struggle between the both of them is quite daunting. For now though thing that mattered was cleaning up what mess the hurricane had caused. The strong cold breeze brushed against her skin as it flowed through her hair. As she shivered greatly, clutching her onto her coat as she rubbed her hands together to keep warm. While on the beach the sand had gotten in her dress shoes, pressing into her feet as she took every step to remove and dispose of most the debris that was once boats or furniture. With a few cases she was happy to use ignite to dispose of the few bits of wood that some of the other students used as a bonfire... With the metal however... moving it was difficult enough, but to do it in the cold was nearly unbearable. After moving the last of the debris the rest of her peers found it fit to start focusing on the bonfire... It was finally time to relax and in this free time she decided it was best to turn to her professor for some advice. Once she had spotted the professor, Delilah rushed up to her to gain her attention. The struggle to run across sand was far more exhausting than it looked in the movies, but once she made it to professor Inoue she found the moment to breath. "Pro-... pro-... professor... I wanted to ask you something." She took another moment to catch her breath properly before she could continue to speak. "I uh... I had to ask about my future... I wanted your opinion on if you thought I had what it took to become a professor like you?" She asked keeping her heart on her sleeves as she asked in earnestly. Hoping that maybe she had proven her academic ability within the six years at the college. Emiko Inoue

[attr="class","licred"]// NOVA // | [attr="class","libody"]The day had been a long one. Alarm. Coffee. Dress. The walk to work. Coffee. Class one. Class two. Coffee. Class three. Lunch. Coffee. Class four. Class five. Coffee. But then of course her natural agenda needed to be interrupted.
Coffee had to be achieved on the go after her fifth class. The rest of her day's schedule had been canceled. She'd been in this field long enough to know what was expected of her without having to hear the order forcing her. The recent hurricane luckily was on the smaller side of the spectrum but that didn't mean it hadn't caused any damage at all. Another example of the University's caring nature, showcasing they were a good guy to count on in this scary divided world. Volunteering to assist with the clean-up of public domain. It was a smart move on their part, as usual.
Emiko's after hours had encompassed with the average series of events. Utilizing runes to help the community. Allowing as many news stations to take photographs and interviews as possible. Stay smiling at near all times. Em had gone through this process plenty of times. Most field reporters knew her by name and had shared a cup of coffee with her at least once. Emi would be lifting up her water bottle to her lips to take in another drink. The smell of alcohol would be overall absent due to how much she'd watered it down for the sake of continuing the correct illusion required. But the gentle burning would cause a light sigh to escape her lips.
Gods. What would she do without alcohol? She knew she had a problem. Em wasn't delusional. Alcoholism was clearly etched into her personal life. The moment that first bottle of whiskey had made its way into her desk drawer at work was the day it was official. But the problem of being a tattooed slave who had experienced traumas through the strict merciless grasp of runic ink sorrrrrt of made it understandable.
It would be following this sigh that her attention would come to an approaching student. The cap for the water bottle would swiftly be returned post hence, making sure the disguised water would never leave her grasp. "Oh?" And then there it was. That damn question ... Smile. "Let's sit down. It's been a long day." Emiko would motion and lead the way to sitting in a less populated area of sand. While they went to sit? Off the cap went and down went half of the water bottle in one go. Gods, she hated this. Emiko would turn her gaze with that required smile the tattoo demanded of her. "So professor, hm? Is that what you're wanting to do?"

Every so often, Delilah had glanced at her professors and pondered on how well they performed their services to the public. Often times it wasn't something she was keen on sharing with others, but she looked to her professors somewhat obsessively to what a Runic Scholar should be like. It was only natural for a student to revere their professors. However viewing these people in such a light always had made Delilah nervous around them. Part of her had hoped to become one of them and the idea she might be rejected caused her hesitance with just talking about her future. Delilah had previously though a position in the government would aid her in the goal she wished to obtain, but she felt in her heart that the Runic college would have a far greater impact in improving society. Upon approaching professor Emiko she already knew she had to focus on not choking on her own words. Her professor's lips somewhat glistened from the water she was probably drinking. Intelligent, beautiful, an overall warm presence among her students... the very nature of the Runic Professors was upheld by their presence. Those of clarity would have to resist their strength of their gaze. So much so that when the professor had acknowledge her existence that she couldn't stop herself from blushing. Only nodding in a quickened silence to follow her direction. Before they continued to walk, Delilah hurried to remove her dress shoes and socks. Tired of the mix sensation of cotton and sand suffocating her feet. Allowing the wind to brush against her legs and the smooth sand beneath her to shift freely. It always felt good to let her skin breath whenever her clothing felt suffocating, especially for her feet. Following her professor as she allowed her feet to play with the sand before they finally settled on a secluded spot on the beach. It was then, Delilah was questioned about the future she wished to pursue. A question she's asked herself several times before this day... was it really what she wanted? There is a long pause as she collects her thoughts and looks up to the sky, the beautiful sky as Felici's early sunset brought a dark blue hue that suppressed the dying orange on the horizon. The sunsets she would spend with her father on the outskirts of Dagos filled her mind's eye. Despite their difference to the planet's equator, Dagos had far more beautiful sunsets. "I... I can't think of anything I would be more passionate about. I've watched the staff and the way the college conducts themselves and I honestly think this form of magic is the thing that's gonna push towards a greater society. An equality than based on merit rather than what status or abilities you were born with... I.. Uh... sorry I got a little bit too passionate there... heh..." She chuckled nervously pulling her jacket around to hide part of her face from the bit of embarrassment. Delilah had trouble looking directly at her professor and continued to stare off into the sunset. "My father taught me that knowledge was the great equalizer between the poor and rich. If I could spread this knowledge just like you professor, then... then I think I would be far more happier than any position I would pursue in a government." Delilah allowed for the moment to convey her hearts desires in that moment of passion, but the fear was still there... was this future really for her? Emiko Inoue

Em's face would remain in its previously set professional smile. But inside she was squirming very uncomfortably. This student was bright eyed and bushy tailed. She was looking up with a sense of purity and inspiration. Ms Morningstar wanted nothing more, it seemed, than to join the ranks of Runic Masters.
Ohhhh, it was painful. Emiko had been the same way. It was a damn mirror staring up at her with that glisten in her eyes. And as much as she wanted to tell this young person to run, the act was not allowed. Emi was familiar with the suffocating sensation that the tattoo of obedience had upon her. It was not foreign. It was excruciatingly recognizable.
"Passion is good." Professor Inoue would reply with a soft nod, replying to the girl's apology. Happier as a professor. The uncomfort festered in her chest cavity. It was unpleasant and unsettling, much similar to a suspiciously foul originating from the Kitchen. Was something spoiling? Had something been accidentally allowed to sit out? Was something rotting? The answer to all of the above according to her lingering remains of a conscious was yes. Yes it was.
"Well, you certainly seem to have the drive." Emiko's painted lips spoke with that supportive tone that was required. Run. "I suppose overall the question comes if you have the grades." Run. "Excellence is obviously searched for when we interview possible candidates." Run. "What have you been doing to work towards being excellent?"

The initial pause made the sensation of anxiety far more greater than Delilah had anticipated. Each silent moment felt like a decade as she waited for the professor to say something. The first reply filled the girl with ease as she is quick to respond with. "Thank you, Professor." It seemed that her hopes weren't far off. That maybe... just maybe her academic prowess would allow her become apart of the staff. As she had followed through with every bit of planning it took to advancing her knowledge on runic magic and political stigma that followed with the current magi populace. What she spoke of after, filled her with some hope as she recalled every aspect of her college life. "I've devoted most of my time to my studies as well as aiding and assisting my fellow students, Professor. Studying and practicing the calligraphy of the Runic Symbols. I'm making sure to use my time efficiently for my class assignments and if I should start falling short of my expectations then I'm quick to resolve the issue." She said with a bright energy to her voice. "As of lately, I've only just begun to consider working on extracurricular activities. I hope that the time I put into my activities will show the extent of time and ability I've been cultivating for the college." In her voice there was something restrain, but it showed with the look in her eyes. A desperation for acceptance, for the possibility for a dream to come true.... A desire that would fight for and it felt so far off, but so damned close she could almost grasp it within her hands. "I want this far more than I ever wanted anything else in my life..." It was hard to look at the professor in the eye now. Almost as if the dream would shatter if their eyes were to meet. "Do you think I can make it?" Emiko Inoue
