It has been a long, tense day across the length and span of Ethea. Thousands of citizens of every race have gathered together to show their support for their side of the issue. The cacophonous swell of opposing voices fills the air as each side attempts to drown out the other with the sheer volume of their voices. While the day has passed with few incidents, tensions are high and the people are restless. Hours have passed since the polls first opened and the hour in which the results will be revealed. A loud, clear voice cuts through the noise like a knife, demanding the attention of all in attendance. “Ladies and Gentlemen, citizens of Ethea, if you would please direct your attention to the screen for just a few moments, the voting results have been compiled and we are ready to announce the conclusion. A hush falls over the gathered crowd and hundreds of individual faces turn to face the gigantic holographic display or towards the monitors by which those not in attendance have tuned to watch the historic event. 00:00:0500:00:0400:00:0300:00:0200:00:0100:00:00The hologram shifts from the image of a clock and displays the results. The law has been passed. In a split second's timing uproar follows. One side rejoices while the other laments; all raise their voices in either praise or disgust. DAGOSAn overjoyed man in his late thirties flings his arms in celebration, losing his grip on the camera he’d been using to record the event. The device flies straight and true as though guided by the hands of fate itself and strikes one of the opposing protesters. The young woman falls flat, bleeding from a head wound. Outrage follows and all semblance of order is lost. The overzealous are the first to react, flinging themselves over the concrete dividers that separate the two groups. Fists fly and hateful slurs are shouted as mob mentality takes hold. The fight quickly turns lethal as picket signs are used as clubs and other, deadlier weapons are drawn. FELICIOld men toss jeers and slurs at a group of young magi. One of the members finally has enough and pushes the human away from her with an anger that sparks into minor flames at her fingertips. The reaction of the men is to scream in horror. "She's trying to kill us!" would be the cries heard above all else as they attempt to escape their deaths, all but one who pulls a gun on the woman who had singed his shirt just moments before. From there all sides come in to support the ones they believe to have been the true victim. Hunters, police, representatives of the Runic University, and MLM members who had been stationed there in case of such a reaction. CAMLORNSmaller townships such as Camlorn are slower to descend into madness, but descend they do. Upon hearing of the situation in both the capital and Dagos, local military commanders give orders to suppress any potential riots by any means necessary. Unfortunately, these orders are interpreted as authorization to fire upon both sides and Camlorn follows the example given by the large cities. The scene is one that replays itself in horrifying detail across the land. Many watch in horror as the chaos erupts. Some attempt to flee while others merely watch in utter disbelief, though one thing is shockingly clear. The Second Magi Riot has begun.

To think that they really needed a vote on this. Sigh.
Seated on a bench with his legs crossed and chin supported on one palm, Archaleos trained his dark eyes on the largest holographic display projected on a nearby building to watch the countdown tick methodically downward and quietly think on this whole debacle. The young Hunter had no doubt that this vote would pass in the end since, logically speaking, the human population far outnumbered magi (even accounting for the traitors to their own species who would vote against) and he had the sense that there were powers far up in the echelons of society who would make certain that the results swung in favor of the status quo. Democracy was a bit outdated nowadays. Not that most of the average masses so much as suspected that. Either way... Archaleos just didn't see why they even bothered with a farce of a vote; if a curfew would be what helped to remind magi kind of their place then just do it. Personally, he thought that such a law was a bit lenient in the end— since the trouble making pests would not heed the new rule anyway —but hey! It gave the Guild better justification to, well, correct any curfew violators they came across, and boy did Archaleos enjoy enforcing the law.
There was also the matter of this demonstration that he found himself assigned to monitor, though the young Hunter wouldn't have missed this for the world even if he hadn't been required to attend. Tensions had only been mounting higher and higher as the hours slid by, opposing sides hissing and spitting at each other over a divide of stoic police officers stationed between them, and even though Archaleos had no desire to draw closer to the front lines to yell back at some empty headed protester you could be sure that he was keeping close eyes on the situation. Because it was his job— to protect the innocent and keep the peace. And because he was just itching for the moment when that tension erupted.
The announcer's voice cut over the loudspeakers and suddenly a hush like death stole over what seemed to be the whole city, all of Ethea maybe, prompting Archaleos to refocus on the screen that now displayed a countdown of the last 5 seconds. ...3 ...2 ...1— haha, what a surprise. A faint smile twitched one corner of the teen's lips as he read those words over a second time and, just as his eyes skimmed the last word, the volume surged back up to new heights around him. Cheers, shouts, curses; it all bled together in a cacophony of noise but Archaleos was on his feet now and slipping between the press of celebrating humans on his side towards where the two crowds intersected. Sure enough, the guards stationed there were being jostled by furious people, vying to get at one another, and though Archaleos himself didn't hear the first scream that stated things off you would have had to be deaf not to hear the roar of gunfire and conjured flame that seemed to go off all at once.
Briefly, he had the thought that it was a pity so many innocent humans would surely die today, but it was only a fleeting notion that quickly slipped from Archaleos' mind as he became focused on getting to where the chaos had erupted. AKA in the opposite direction of where most people were fleeing in panic. One of his metallic hands dropped to the sword sheathe on his hip and he drew it forth as he ran, bionic eye flickering to life, with his sights set on the most troublesome magi who seemed to be going for the armed Hunters and officers first.

[attr="class","maind"][attr="class","umad"]I can move mountains Itzal had voted. He was allowed to vote, he'd registered as a citizen and all his paperwork had gone through. He was a permanent resident despite all his friends in Suraja going 'why the hell are you going to Ethea', he didn't see it as quite as bad as everyone made it out to be.
And then the riot broke out. Itzal slumped his shoulders slightly, leaning against a brick wall near the riot. His sleeveless gray hoodie was loose enough to be comfortable, but just fitting enough to make him feel that he looked awesome. That aside though, this riot proved something. So much for Ethea being better than everyone thought it was. He sighed, shaking his head and watching as the riot escalated. He put an earbud in one of his ears, listening to a metal song. He was made of metal, so he could literally call himself a metalhead. Itzal found that funnier than perhaps he should've. He saw the humans fighting with the magi, and a hunter running in to join. Presumably to try to help, although possibly to kill magi. Itzal couldn't have possibly cared less.
This was actually beneficial to him. He was a cyborg who ran a company that produced cybernetics. The fight before him was undoubtedly going to result in some humans being injured, possibly to the point of needing bionics. More cyborgs. They'd join him in being obviously stronger than their frail human selves. He couldn't really see a downside unless someone hurt a cyborg. But he wasn't worried about cyborgs being hurt. They were stronger, and more equipped to fight. Itzal relaxed against the wall and opened his leather satchel to take out the sub sandwich he'd packed for lunch, taking a bite. He didn't need to eat, but food was delicious so he was going to eat. Plus, that was just yet another advantage of a cyborg body. He didn't have to worry about gaining weight from overeating!

| [attr="class","hbracket"]{ | [attr="class","htextbox"] [break][break] To be quite honest, he knew a riot would eventually befall the city when the count down began. He watched with a mild amount of interest as the numbers counted down. He really hoped there wouldn’t be a riot but in all fairness, history would repeat itself. A sigh escaped the mute as he stood off to the side of the road, sitting the metallic guard railing. Slumped over with one leg crossed at the knee he idly at his new purchased cheeseburger in peace. [break][break] Cars drove by slowly and many of them stopping to see what the verdict was for the new law. Of course, it passed and the cheers of the human race was far louder then the uproar of the magi. Lazy eyes came to rest upon the crowds that started to break out into what would probably be a very violent riot. Groaning, River turned towards his partly devoured burger and then to Aries who stood beside him, ready to go. Really? The dog was far more animated about the fight then he was at the moment. [break][break] Glancing to his right he easily caught sight of Arch moving in on the crowd. Well, there was one Hunter on the job and ready for action. To his left, there seemed to be a cyborg just chilling with no intent of doing anything, luck bastard. Making a rather disgruntled noise he stood, stretched, took a bite out of his meal and casually hopped up on a park car and crossing over it rather then using the roadway. In his opinion, everyone had stopped and he wasn’t going to take the hard way to make his way across the road. [break][break] At his heels was Aries, padding across the same cars that River crossed at an easy pace all the while ignoring the shouts of highly annoyed individuals until they too noticed the riot. Reaching the other end of the street he carelessly dropped down from his car-hopping crossing to finish his meal and watch the insanity happening. He would join in shortly if he must but until then he much rather finish his meal. But hey, at least he was close by. So far, it only looked like a shouting match -- ah no wait, there’s a gun involved now---and oh a few punches, some fire, and great. That meant he would have to go to work now. [break][break] Eyeing his half eaten meal he made a choice. Taking out a single sai in one hand, he continued to eat as he crossed over towards the crowd, taking his time. Couldn’t they all wait until he finished eating?

It didn't take long for Archaleos' rather quick pace through the crowd to become extremely hindered by the press of bodies around him. Trying to push your way through an idle crowd could be difficult enough on its own, but these people were pushing, panicking, trying to run this way or that and ultimately just bouncing up against each other like mindless pin balls. Some noticed the presence of the sword in the young Hunter's grasp and wisely shrunk back, making way, yet he was still having quite the time trying to wedge his way through knots of people. At one point Archaleos even caught an elbow right in the temple and had to resist the urge to snarl angrily at the man at fault, who didn't even seem to be aware of his flapping arms. Hard to stay so zealous about protecting these "innocent" idiots when they were all just getting in his way.
Still, he persisted and, though it was slow going, managed to near where the two sides of the riot were roiling together violently. Archaleos paused, then, to give a cursory glance around and take in his surroundings, noting where friends and potential foes seemed to be at the moment. Obviously the hostile magi up ahead were his primary concern, and the other Hunters and police posted to keep order were trickling in, but Archaleos' dark eyes were drawn to a familiar figure taking a shortcut over some nearby parked cars. Was that River? Ah yeah that was Aries at his heels. It was good to have some support coming in since, frankly, this was something that would take a lot of cooperation to quell. Archaleos' nodded quietly to himself at the thought before his attention was affixed firmly back onto the violence ahead of him and he pushed onwards, getting behind the line of police garbed in riot gear who were attempting to keep each side from the other. It... wasn't really working.
With all the screaming going on any notion he might have had of trying to "reason" with these people (as if that would have worked. animals) or request that they just, you know, cut this shit out went out the window. The time for trying to talk people down was obviously past, and it was no sooner than he'd stepped a foot past the line of armored police that Archaleos became acquainted with that fact very quickly. Shit— whoosh went the ball of magical flame as it flew from its conjurer's fingertips and the teen just barely managed to yank up his left arm, shield snapping out, in time for the fire to crash into its smooth surface. Gunfire erupted again and by the time that Archaleos had banished the shield again the magi was lying motionless on the ground; a victim of one too many bullets. Eyes narrowing in annoyance, his gaze flicked from the corpse to the nearby magi who were rightfully terrified by the sight and trying to scramble away. Most of them, anyway. Others still seemed raring to fight, even emboldened by a sense of vengeance, and this included the male water magi who charged at Archaleos with a nasty looking hunting knife in hand.
There was a screech of steel as the knife's edge was blocked by the Hunter's sword and Archaleos found himself face to face with a mouthful of angler fish like teeth as the magi hissed at him. Disgusting. The Hunter just grit his teeth in response and planted his feet, warring to push his opponent off who was not budging holy hell this guy was strong or just weighed a ton.

[attr="class","maind"][attr="class","umad"]I can move mountains Itzal had situated himself in an alleyway to eat his sandwich. Less people wandered down alleyways, and the less he involved himself in the riot the better. He genuinely did not give a damn what happened as a result of this. However, he knew keeping his distance was the best option. Unfortunately, something he also knew was that riots tended to draw you in. He took another bite of his sandwich.
That's when someone tried to mug him. He had a satchel after all, and someone tried to snatch it. Well damn, Itzal suddenly understood acutely how some women felt when they were having their purse snatched. So when they ran away with the satchel, he took off after them. It didn't take too long to catch up to them. He was good at following figures even in a crowd, and bumping into a few people didn't really do much considering his entire body was made of metal. Damn he wanted his satchel back. When he caught up to the guy though, he was greeted by a rather unique sight he thought. The mugger was being mugged. For the friggin' satchel. Itzal hit his forehead with the palm of his hand.
"I knew it was nice, but this is bloody ridiculous." To be fair, it was genuine leather. But still, so many people wanting to own it? Come on, this was a riot not a clearance blowout sale. He walked purposefully and kicked one of them in the shins before putting his hand over the other person's and closed his hand tighter. He had enhanced strength, and the guy screamed. When Itzal let go of the hand, his target let go of the bag to nurse his hand. Both of them were now more concerned with their injuries from his metal cyborg body than they were about the satchel, his satchel, that they had stolen.
And if they ended up needing cybernetics to replace anything, that was a bonus that he would greatly welcome of course. He tried to avoid being swept up in the crowd by working his way into a ransacked shop nearby.

Hell, why couldn't they just take their fights elsewhere rather then in the middle of here? River had relocated himself on the edges of the frenzy with only a quarter of his meal left hanging from his lips. He was more focused on getting the bystanders to move and get somewhere safely. His goal was not to attack those but to get to Arch and that wonderful tooth magi. Tension had already been thick in the air of Felici as magi desperate to see that the curfew did not come to pass piled into the city. As the timer counted down and the law inevitably went through, it wasn't going to take much to set off the violence. And set off it did; like throwing a match into a crate of dynamite the city practically exploded in utter chaos. One little incident was all it took to set the rest of the city alight with hostility. All over people were screaming- some panicked pleas while others were harsh roars of outrage. As the citizens dissolved into a writhing horde of angry bodies, other factions began to move into the fray.
Some truly intended to stop the violence; trying hard to keep the mayhem from escalating to catastrophic proportions. Others, however, merely dove in for their own selfish reasons. How could anyone keep track of what was being done in a sea full of carnage? In a situation like this, the bloodthirsty and vengeful could gleefully take their fill without gathering much notice. In the end it only added to the discord. The few innocent that actually tried escaping quickly found themselves swept up as well as the chaos spread throughout the city like ripples through a once still pond.
There near the center of the conflict, battling was the worst. Even being near the edge was a bloody sight as human and magi fought against each other to the death. But through all the noise that had built up around the city's fighting, suddenly a large rumbling could be heard. It gradually grew loud enough that some people even paused- if for but a brief moment- to turn their attentions towards where the sound was coming from. It swiftly became apparent.
Rounding the corner of one of the buildings, a massive figure suddenly appeared. A being composed entirely of floating earth ripped straight from the very streets of Felici. Bits and pieces of signs, concrete, and other details normally confined to the ground poked out from the clumps of hovering stone forming a humanoid like shape. Yet it wasn't solid: as it moved, holes appeared here and there to reveal space beyond the rocky shell. And within that formidable shell there almost appeared to be something else.
The rioters didn't have too much time to react. The giant golem stormed through the frey with thunderous footsteps. Those too slow to move out of the way were promptly crushed underfoot in a bloody pop, decorating the stone a grisly red. As for those who fought back, the large battering ram-like arms on the stone golem went into motion with deadly results. It didn't seem too keen on particular targets, but as the hunters came into view suddenly that large stone form turned it's front towards them (and consequentially the impassive cyborg) and began to charge forward with all the force of a freight train.

[attr="class","maind"][attr="class","umad"]Itzal had his satchel back, but now there were bigger problems. A giant rock golem.
"Oh for fuck's sake, the god of madness must be having a field day today." He squinted and looked at the rock golem briefly, finding it interesting how it was held together. If it didn't look so menacing, he might've tried to figure it out so he could use what he learned in new inventions. However, it looked quite dangerous. And he had nothing to combat it with.
"Well, I have enhanced strength but I'm about ninety-nine percent sure that isn't what is meant when people use the expression 'hitting the pavement'." Just as Itzal had resolved himself to run, he saw that the golem was charging. TOWARDS HIM. And the hunters, but well he couldn't give a fuck about those guys.
"Shitshitshitshit this is not what I meant when I say I like rock!" A good listen to Guns n' Roses, or some heavy metal. He was going to need that if he lived through this. He ran to the side, hoping the golem wasn't so good at turning. Big things had trouble with that, didn't they? Itzal sure as hell hoped so. One thing he wasn't going to do yet was to shoot at it. It probably wouldn't do anything, and he wasn't wanting to make it notice him anymore than it already had. Hopefully it would pick off the hunters and the other people in the riot. Itzal couldn't care less if it killed people, as long as it didn't kill him. He ran and dove into a shop that had already been ransacked and looted. He hid behind one of the counters, taking the slight respite to look around for others. There were hunters herding the innocents out of the way. Idiots. 'Innocent' was taking all the matters lightly.
Fuck them. Some of them had turned on their own race. Some of them were magi. There were traitors, there were people who were useless. Natural selection was a proven scientific fact. Of course, a rock golem made by magi wasn't particularly natural. Anyways, he just hoped the golem was so focused on hurting the hunters that moved against its creators that it wouldn't bother with him. He needed to come up with a plan in the meantime. If it did come over here. He needed to figure out his next move too, 'cause staying in a sandwich shop with no sandwiches in it just wasn't an ideal situation. Plus, he wasn't the only one hiding in here and the last thing he wanted was to have someone else try and steal his bloody satchel.

| [attr="class","hbracket"]{ | [attr="class","htextbox"] [break][break] Getting to his fellow Hunter was number one priorities for the most part. However, its pretty amusing on how fast ones priorities changed the moment something strange was heard. No, it wasn’t the sounds of screaming, death, pain, or even the rumbly tumbly of people running away at top speeds. There was a distinctive sound that shattered his hopes and dreams of this being something to the extent of a mere everyday riot. Low and behold, as he turned his head to take a gander at what was coming their way he made perfect eye contact with the golem. A very large golem. A very angry golem. A very intense golem that was here to wreck his goddamn day with a clear declaration that this was not going to be a simple everyday riot. Cause fuck that shit. [break][break] The ever quite lad looked on with his shoulders slumped in dismay. Why? Why, did this always happen to him? Why couldn’t it happen to some other hunter like, oh I don’t know, Daniel? Daniel could handle this shit. Daniel was armed with more then two sai’s which he was now glancing at in dismay. Maybe it was time he learned how to shoot a goddamn gun? A thought for another day as he had bigger things to worry about. Such as the golem rushing towards his general direction like a freaking high powered train. Super. [break][break] A quick whistle would call back a rather dirty and bloody mouthed Aries. It seemed Aries took note of the golem as well and seemed to share his Master’s ideas on the matter. Both being pretty smart, they quickly rushed out of the giants pathway to take shelter behind the closes building possible. Screw the people and screw Arch. This was going to be the bigger concern. [break][break] Kalidas must hate him. Hate him with an overwhelming passion. [break][break][break]OOC NOTES

The fallen hunter was ignored for the most part as he was swallowed up by others in the riots. When the two figures- soon joined by a smaller, furrier third- dashed away, the path of the golem changed to go after them.
As the cyborg dove into the nearest shop, it revealed one thoroughly looted. Broken glass and furniture littered the store as rioters had taken to it with fury. Not much remained behind in the small, two story building. Fortunately it appeared empty. But unfortunately it was not prepared to take such tremendous force as that caused by a huge fist entirely composed of stone.
When the Hunter and his dog rushed past the store entrance and into the alleyway instead, the large golem followed him. The stride of the large entity allowed it to keep up up with the hunter as he ran. However it’s large bulk was not made for turning on a dime. Reaching out almost like a person would to assist in turning fast, the stone fist punched into the side of the building Itzal had dunked inside of. The whole thing quaked from the impact as stone suddenly burst from the wall and flung inward. Bricks and stone crumbled under the weight of the goliath using it for support, creating a huge tear through the wall of the store.
One that only grew larger as the golem regained it’s footing within the alley. It was a tight squeeze for a being so large, and the turn had certainly made it lose time. However it ripped its fist out of the wall and flung the debris towards the retreating hunter as it kept up its pursuit, albeit slightly harder now giving the confined space.
As for the shop Istzal was within, the whole thing began to getter and groan dangerous. Practically the entire one wall had been torn out, and the support beams within. Which meant the building’s integrity had been compromised as it began shifting and crumbling around him at a rapid rate. The very shelter he’d chosen might now potentially be his tomb.

[attr="class","maind"][attr="class","umad"]Itzal watched in horror as the golem slammed into the building he was in. God fucking dammit that meant he had to move. His suspicion was confirmed as he heard the structure begin to groan. It was going to be coming down. With plenty of swear words coming out of his mouth in a mumble, the cyborg moved his sturdy metal body towards the exit, trying to avoid all possible debris falling from the roof.
"Whoever owns this shop is definitely losing their security deposit, that's for sure." It was almost whispered. Itzal felt like the structure was so ready to come down that even speaking a little bit too loudly might cause everything to crash down around him. That's something he would rather enjoy avoiding. How the golem had managed to take out an entire wall was also quite fascinating to the inventor. Perhaps he could think of a way to replicate that. That would make for a very interesting weapon. And if the magi were determined to fight back, he was going to need something to protect himself. Being taken out of commission by inferior beings who couldn't even get cybernetics would be the height of stupidity, and incredibly embarrassing. Maybe using some sort of hydraulic would work? Or perhaps something akin to a battering ram?
Then again, there was the problem of making it light enough that it could move. Now that he thought about it, he wondered why the rock golem didn't collapse under its own weight. Humans were generally lighter on top and that's why they were able to stand up without toppling. Even when he was constructing his improvements he also had to make sure his top half did not exceed the weight of the bottom.
Itzal did his best to sprint out of the shop, hoping he would be successful in the endeavour.
