Notes This thread doesn't have to be a feelings discussion. I'm mostly giving Caroline a reason to be away from the deep woods. Thread can go anywhere, tbh.
I AM NOT MERCIFUL I AM NOT KIND I AM NOT AFRAID TO MAKE YOU WISH THAT I WAS This was so much to process. Caroline turned over the thoughts yet again, as she had for most of the day. She sat on a log at the edge of Arecia woods, closer to the plains, where a dirt walking path would wind and lead to Camlorn some many miles down the way. She didn’t like being so close to leaving the forest, but given its trickery, personality, and connection to Lelianna, she was cautious about having deep thoughts inside its boundaries. The sun was freshly set, leaving the sky a dull orange and darkening the world around her. She wore her brown cloak with the hood up; she wasn't really in the mood to be recognize by hunters. She set her head in her hand and tapped her foot as she processed her latest revelation. She was in love. Romantic love was set deep in the recesses of her brain, and as she uncovered more thoughts, emotions, and feelings that were heavily repressed by her implant, feelings of love came to light. She had remembered dates, crushes, holding hands, kisses, and the euphoric feeling of sharing moments with someone important to her. Given how close she was with Lelianna, it was only a matter of time before she developed such desires. She sighed and swung around so she could lie on the thick log and stare at the cloudless spring sky. It wasn’t accepting that she had these feelings that was troubling her; she had come to that conclusion an hour ago, and gone through the steps on denial through acceptance. No, it was guilt that she was churning over in her mind. Feelings that she didn’t deserve to fall for Lelianna, that it was unfair to the druid, that after all she had done in her past she did not GET to fall for not only a magi, but someone so kind and pure as her dear friend. She didn’t even know that Caroline worked with hunters! Gods, she would hate her. She would hate her for being a murderer and then having the gall to love her, she would demand Caroline to leave, and she would be justified in doing so. The chittering of a nearby squirrel caught her attention. It regarded her cautiously, but clearly was not afraid of people; a forest dweller through and through. Carolien swung her legs around to sit up once more, and the creature crouched as if it was about to run off. It stayed, and Caroline rewarded it for its courage; she reached into a pouch by her pocket and tossed it a handful of nuts, which she started to carry around at Lelianna’s suggestion; the forest creatures near her garden were slowly becoming friendly to Caroline, and food only helped that bond develop. The squirrel happily nibbled on the nuts, drawing a smile from the cyborg. Not long after, it took a large one and ran off, either content with its meal… or spooked by someone approaching.

Hereeee's Ripley!!
Bam~
Right to the Kisser!~
I could just gobble you up!~
Originally, Ripley hadn’t known what exactly to expect when he’d spotted group of heavily armed men dressed in eerily familiar uniforms. It wasn’t often that one spotted a group of Axuim-paid thugs strolling casually through the sleepy streets of Camlorn. Of course, they’d not been armed while still within the two’s borders, but years of indulging in his predatory practices had given the madman a sense for danger. He was still curious as a cat though and, again, it wasn’t a regular occurrence. What could they be searching for? he wondered.
So, Ripley stalked the group as though they were a small herd of delicious gazelle and he a great cat of the plains. He was careful to keep his distance as the group set out from a small staging point on the town’s outskirts. Though they seemed wary, the half dozen thugs remain blissfully unaware of the fact they were being hunted by their worst nightmare. All the better for him when he finally leapt from the bushes to catch his meal.
He could practically taste the sweet, succulent meat already.
Ripley followed the Axuim thugs for quite a respectable distance before they seemed to tense. They fell away from the path as the plains slowly gave way to the outermost bounds of Arecia and split into groups of two. Ooo, how fun! They were playing a game of hide and seek with a very dangerous someone it seemed. Ripley was hard pressed to suppress a fit of manic laughter that would reveal him to his prey. He wanted nothing more than to know who his next meal was playing with and letting them discover he was tailing them would ruin the fun. Even so, he wished that they would hurry up; all this sneaking around (professional tactics that spoke of intensive training) was making him hungry.
He chose one of the pairs at random and followed them on their roundabout trip into the underbrush. The silence of their movements was impressive to the old Hunter side of him. They might’ve made decent Hunters themselves if not for the simple fact that they remained ignorant to his presence.
At last, his chosen pair came to a halt among the trees. A burst of static and a few mumbled words were all he heard as he stalked ever closer to the soon to be deceased.
Just a few more steps…
“Understood, holding position,” one whispered.
“What are we whispering about?” Ripley asked. The two mercenaries only had enough time to turn around before a pair of metallic hands smashed through their skulls; they were dead before their bodies hit the forest floor.
“Guess I’ll just need to find out myself.~”

Notes She wouldn't recognize Axium uniforms. Heck off, hunters!
I AM NOT MERCIFUL I AM NOT KIND I AM NOT AFRAID TO MAKE YOU WISH THAT I WAS Were she new to the woods, perhaps she would have missed the subtle clues around her. The forest wasn’t, as many believed, an entirely quiet place. Serene, certainly, but there were always birds, bugs, howls… things that reminded you it was full of life. So she froze in her leaning position, pulling her arm slowly in, a frown forming on her face; the area was distinctly… silent. Something was off. She’d spent too many months living in the woods, hunting hunters, learning about all the little quirks of nature… when it was silent, it was as loud as a siren. Immediately, thoughts of love were pushed back as years of training, both military and hunter, came forward. Her head turned in the direction of the squirrel. If she was being watched, she wanted to give no direct hints she knew. It was dark, too dark to see with normal vision. With a mental command, her eye switched to thermal. Two heat signatures stood out against a greyed background like spotlights. They moved precisely, carefully, quietly… Hunters. Were they looking for her? She did stray quite a ways from the deep woods. Hm. Her hand gently went down to her ankle, where the revolver was strapped and loaded, ready for such situations. Another command, and her eye swapped to night vision, then zoomed in a bit. Two figures. Armed. Likely not alone. Wait for it, Caroline… Once they stopped, she snapped up, whipping her revolver up in a fluid motion, stabilizing it immediately, and firing the first shot, directly for the head. The other barely had time to raise his gun before she aimed at him with practiced precision and fired again. Another perfect shot; it was so easy when they didn’t suspect it. Her gun barked at the same moment her unknown helper cracked some literal skulls. She switched to thermal and whipped around, looking for the other part of the search party. She saw two other heat signatures hit the ground near each other, which gave her a moment of pause. There was a faint, almost imperceptible signature behind them, which meant there was a cyborg or spirit in the mix. “Scalebreaker, return,” she whispered as she holstered her revolver. The runic axe appeared in her hand and she ran to the two men she had downed. They were probably dead, but each would receive an axe to the head, the magically sharpened blade cutting easily through the entire cranium, backed by her unnatural strength. “For a group that calls itself hunters, you’re much better at being prey,” she called out as she put her back to a tree and examined her surroundings. Her taunt might draw some movement, so she listened closely as soon as the words left her lips. Her nerves were completely calm; after all, she was the monster her. The hunters feared her.

I could just gobble you up!~
Ripley extracted his hand from the skulls of his prey and vigorously shook his hands free of brain matter that clung to them. He thought better of it a moment later when a small fairy flew out of his ear with a reminder that brain matter was delicious. A grin spread across his face as he licked the delicious little morsels from his hands. His hands were perfectly clean in short order and he began searching the gloom for his next target. His most substantial upgrades were still locked behind a substantial layer of encryption thanks to his friends at Chasteaux Arms. Fortunately, he wouldn’t need them to hear the pair of gunshots that rang in the night and the taunting words of a woman that followed; More sounds tailed the taunt.
A crazed grin etched itself across his face as Ripley obeyed the directions the blinking red signs pointing were giving him. The woman might’ve been wrong about the Axium thugs being Hunters, but she was right about them being decent prey.
A trio of fairies wielding tiny flashlights informed him of a rock that his could use for a spark. Ripley smiled as he drew his sword and struck the thing, stoking the sparks into an ample blaze that clung desperately to its edges. Then, the madman sprung from the trees, aimed for the first neck that he saw, and sent his blade slicing through the air. There was a satisfying crunch and sizzle just before the man—blinded by the sudden flair of light produced by a flaming sword—fell one way while his head fell the other. The next sword stroke sliced clean through the final man’s weapon and on if the hands holding it.
The survivor fell to the ground screaming, his intact hand attempting to staunch blood flowing freely from a mangled stump. Ripley set his dead friend ablaze with a casual flick of his wrist and the fire lit his face a demonic red. A sadistic grin that was too wide for his face leered down at his prey.
“Why is it that you Axium types are always so… unimaginative?” Ripley asked. He frowned at the pained scream that was apparently his answer and sighed. Then, he stabbed his new friend in the shoulder, twisting the blade and eliciting a beautiful scream the color of fear (which was a strangely vibrant yellow).

Notes Uh. H-hi? Nice uh. Nice to meet... you?
I AM NOT MERCIFUL I AM NOT KIND I AM NOT AFRAID TO MAKE YOU WISH THAT I WAS She collected herself and poked her head around the edge of the tree. Four down, but that seemed too small for a pack. By switching between her vision types, she was able to find the last two figures around… well, human ones, anyway. No androids seemed to be in the vicinity but they had a way of being hard to pin down. She whipped around the tree, gun pointed at the figures some thirty to forty feet away. She paused before she could squeeze the trigger, though. The hunters were falling, there was a non-human with a flaming weapon of sorts, and the screams, gods, the screams. It was satisfying to hear a hunter experience the pain he no doubt had or had planned to inflict on others. Without lowering her weapons, Caroline walked forward; Scalebreaker in one hand, her forearm held horizontally in front of her to act as stabilization for her other arm, which held the revolver pointed forward. Whoever this cyborg was, it was pretty clear he didn’t care for hunters. Or, what she thought were hunters. She paused her advance and blinked at the familiar word: Axium. Axium? The bastards who helped ruin her life, and barcoded at least one magi out there? Were they looking for her? She readjusted her grip on her weapons, walking forward until she was about twenty feet from the grisly scene. The fire burned vibrantly in her night vision, but she could still make out most of the scene. “Who are you, and what are you doing here?” She inquired. “Besides killing the people I would have ended up killing. You said Axium. What do you know about them?” She still didn’t know if this cyborg was friend or foe, despite the “enemy of my enemy” mindset. She treated him with less suspicion given what he was currently occupied with, but he could easily be a merc looking for her head.

The Axuim thug’s screams rose in pitch and volume as Ripley continued to twist his blade deeper into his victim’s flesh. The vibrancy of those screams was like music to his drugged, maddened ears; it was like a symphony composed by the greatest composers in history. So focused was he in bettering the taste of those haunting lyrics that he couldn’t be bothered to hear the new voice that joined the chorus in his head. Fortunately, an arm took shape in the yellow fumes rising along with the man’s voice and tapped Ripley on the shoulder. He gave utterance to a quick “hmm” and looked in the direction the hand indicated.
He blinked at the purple-haired new arrival for several seconds before a little lightbulb illuminated the darker parts of his brain. It promptly died a moment later, but the hand came to the rescue and flicked the lightbulb back to life. Recognition flared alongside a manic grin that nearly split his lip.
“Project Dullahan,” Ripley stated. “You’re not supposed to be here... Or alive for that matter.” That explained why Axuim thought it important enough to send their hired guns to the middle of the forest. The many files he’d managed to steal during his escape had made mention of a project in mind control that would’ve assisted in Chasteaux Arms’ attempt at creating a super-soldier. It included a few specs on said project as well as a description, which this woman seemed to match perfectly.
“Now, this is a discovery, isn’t it? Finding a dead woman in the middle of the woods.” He turned his attention back on the screaming man at his feet. “Will you stop bleeding all over the place!? We have a guest and you’re being exceptionally rude!” Ripley received another scream in place of an appropriate answer. His smile disappeared as he withdrew his blade and smashed the man’s skull beneath his bootheel.
“The nerve of some people, don’t you agree?” Ripley sheathed his sword, returning his attention to the woman before him. “I apologize for that little display of mine. My name is Ripley, formerly of house Maddox and the Hunter’s Guild; known to my friends as Rip and to my enemies and the world at large as the “Mad Dog”. It’s my honor and pleasure to finally meet your acquaintance. I must admit, I’m a fan of your work.” Ripley executed a flamboyantly bow practiced by the Ethean court. MADE BY SUNBUNS

Notes Well everything about this is unexpected!
I AM NOT MERCIFUL I AM NOT KIND I AM NOT AFRAID TO MAKE YOU WISH THAT I WAS Project DullahanShe leveled her gun at the man; not that she’d be able to squeeze the trigger in this moment, as the mention of the project name caused the cyborg to freeze, her eye wide. A chill crawled up her skin. Project Dullahan. How the hell did he know… Who… Gods, she hated that name! Her internal struggle helped her completely ignore the man’s somewhat gruesome treatment of the living soldier (not that it was anything new; her old friend was Oliver Wynters, after all). “Project Dullahan is dead,” she finally corrected. “Got rid of the leash, kept the rest. More importantly, how the hell do you know that? Do you have something to do with Axium?” The man’s name made her brows furrow. She heard the name; back when she was still a government lackey inspecting the camps, she knew the names of many hunters. Ripley “Mad Dog” had a certain reputation, which only grew in notoriety after the camps; they never crossed paths before, though, so in the past she’d paid the man little mind. “I’ve heard your name,” she said. “If I recall correctly, you’re pretty high on the guild’s shit-list. Guess that means I’m not the only one.” Despite this, she didn’t make a move to lower her weapons or her guard. The man was obviously dangerous, just perhaps not to her; it was still too early to make that call. The way he was treating these supposed Axium thugs did, however, go far to lower her suspicions. “Call me Caroline,” she said with a nod. “Though I’m not sure what you mean by work. If you’re a fan of the things I did in the service of the government, then you’re the only one; I’m not interested in revisiting those days any more than I already do. I am not proud.” If he meant killing hunters, however, then that was a different story; she was, admittedly, a fan of that, too.

The crazed glint never once dimmed as Ripley stared down the barrel of the weapon pointed in his direction. Feelings of fright and other such things had long since become alien to him, so the prospect violence held no fear for him. In fact, he looked forward to it.
“As you say,” Ripley said, hands rising in a placating gesture. “To answer the first of your question, I know of you due to a little incident a few years previous that placed me in a rather unique position. Chasteaux Arms had certain interests in creating a super-soldier of sorts, it seemed that they were disinclined to acquiesce with my, as they put it, rebellious and psychopathic tendencies, thus their request for Axuim’s assistance in creating a proper puppet for their experiments.”
Ripley stood fully erect to gaze upon his discovery. “And as to the second, I was merely a pawn in the greater game that was Axuim’s dreams of grandeur, much like yourself. There is no love lost between myself and those fools that would suppress the thoughts and emotions of others. As a matter of fact, I plan to reduce that wretched place to nothing more substantial than ashes; perhaps some time after I inflict the same fate on the guild.” And what a grand display it would be! It’d been his ultimate dream for as long as he could remember. Seeing the Huntress’s pups burn and Her following reduced to nothing more than a memory would be his greatest work of artistry and would secure his place in history.
What more could an artist ever hope to achieve!?!
“I see that my reputation proceeds me,” Ripley said. “Though it makes me wonder if you are this monster in the woods that has been slaughtering so many of the Blue Bitch’s pups. That would certainly be a most glorious thing to hear!” MADE BY SUNBUNS

Notes Ah. Yeah. Seems we both have reputations, then.
I AM NOT MERCIFUL I AM NOT KIND I AM NOT AFRAID TO MAKE YOU WISH THAT I WAS As he spoke, she slowly lowered her gun, now level with his legs instead of his chest; it wouldn’t completely drop, not yet; he was still… strange. Unpredictable, maybe. But he also seemed to know a lot about a world she was involved with, and that alone bought him her attention. …A proper puppet for their experiments…“The implant,” she said. “It suppressed my memories and my emotions. My thoughts and even my dreams, too. Did they try something similar with you, then?” But why? Why try to implant a human brain when androids existed? They were already ideal soldiers; did humans have something machines didn’t? Too many questions, too many unknowns. She was frustrated all over again. Was it an attempt to enslave people? To subdue the masses? Gods, she’d be damned if she ever let that come to fruition. But while she had her little moment, the Mad Dog was continuing on. She narrowed her brows and tilted her head at him; not out of anger, but more out of… a guarded surprise. Of all the things she expected to find this evening, a kill-team and another person hell-bent on destroying Axium and Hunters was about the bottom of the barrel. Still, the man was unnerving. She couldn’t bring herself to trust him yet. At the mention of “the monster in the woods,” her arms twitched to bring her gun up, but she suppressed the reflex. She didn’t want anybody knowing, but at this point… Well, it was obvious, wasn’t it? Shit. Now she had to either trust him not to rat her out, or kill him so he didn’t. And if he was a super-soldier experiment like her, there was no telling if she’d walk away from the encounter or not. She stood upright and sized him up, keeping an eye out for any sudden advances. “They shouldn’t create monsters if they can’t handle them,” she said. “Maybe they wanted to take a turn being the prey. I’m just being obliging.”

Ripley sighed. “Alas, the creation of demons seems to be a favored pastime of theirs,” he said. “The Blue Bitch isn’t one that seems capable of keeping a leash on her worthless pups and they roam the world biting and scratching at anything that moves. Tis such a shame that She never teaches them that sometimes things come back to bite them.” It was a lesson Ripley had gleefully taught many a mongrel over the years. He tilted his head to one side as he tried to recall just how many had fallen under the edge of his blade, though an exact number continually remained out of his grasp. Not that it mattered in any regard; the number would continue to rise until the day he was finally put to grass and returned to the dance of souls awaiting a return to the living.
“And by way of answering your previous question, I’d like to ask if you believe we would even be engaged in this lovely little discourse if the Axium dogs had attempted such a thing.” He followed with another tilt of the head. “You and I have both cast of the shackles that foolish men would deem fit for ones such as we. In fact, I would go as far as to say that you and I are alike in a few strangely similar ways, a hatred towards Hunters notwithstanding. I would be remised if I were to betray someone of the same circumstances to a group most despised, so you may rest assured that your miraculous return to the living shall be a well-kept secret.” MADE BY SUNBUNS

I AM NOT MERCIFUL I AM NOT KIND I AM NOT AFRAID TO MAKE YOU WISH THAT I WAS She considered his words carefully, eventually coming to a conclusion with a slow shake of her head. No, she supposed they would not be here in that case; hell, even she got lucky regarding the removal of her implant. If she didn’t fight that girl, or meet with Maevia, she would probably still be a loyal puppet to the government, and probably have a less friendly run-in with the “mad dog.” There were few people Caroline did not want to fight in this world; an unhinged super-soldier with thick armor plating, however, was on the list. She folded her arms at his assessment that they were similar. Caroline did not think so, besides their mutual revenge and Axium grudge, but if it kept him from giving away her activities, it would work. “I’ll have to take your word for it,” she admitted. She walked over to one of the downed soldiers and knelt down to examine it, searching for any other information the men and women might have on them. “Axium already seems to suspect I’m here- it’s only a matter of time before the guild figures it out. As long as they can’t confirm it, though, they’re limited in what they can do about me.” There was nothing on this body. She stood and put her boot on his neck until she heard a snap; couldn’t be too careful about making sure corpses stay that way. She turned her head to him as she knelt in front of a second body. “And what about you? You didn’t know I was here, so why are you out in this part of the woods at this time in the evening? I can’t believe it’s coincidence.”

“I somehow get the sense that you don’t entirely share my assessment,” Ripley said. “No matter, we do share some similarities, so I shall choose to continue substituting my own reality in favor of this one.” He watched the Dullahan as she knelt to examine the fallen mercenary for what he could assume was information. He had his doubts that she would find much of use to her, but he kept his peace on the matter.
“As for the Big Blue Bitch’s mangy pups, I wouldn’t worry overly much about their ability to sniff you out. I’ve eluded them for nearly a decade and they have yet to even come close to finding me. It’s rather fortunate that I have inside knowledge of their methods and the fact that their quality has been steadily falling as of late.” Ripley sighed. “Honestly, it’s as though they’ll let any vagabond with a weapon and a mean streak join that poor excuse of an organization. I remember a time when being a Hunter meant something. Now, it’s just a convenient excuse to kill whomever one pleases with no fear of consequence.”
It was another reason Ripley had grown to despise the Guild. They hid their true desires behind a thin veil of righteousness to maintain some semblance of humanity. Such paltry reasons were nothing more than lies; one needed no excuse to murder and main and destroy other than the simple thrill of it!
Ripley drew away from his musings at the behest of the Dullahan’s question. “Why I’m afraid that the reason is quite simple: curiosity. Rarely does a major corporation find the need to send well-armed agents to a sleepy town between two major cities, so like the cat devling for secrets best left unearth I chose to follow them.” He shrugged. “So, you see, it truly is nothing more than a happy coincidence that we’ve met one another this night. | I AM NOT MERCIFUL I AM NOT KIND I AM NOT AFRAID TO MAKE YOU WISH THAT I WAS Crack! Another merc’s spine shattered under her boot. She examined the weapons and gear, eventually deciding to pick up an assault rifle. She knew the model well. A quick disassembly lead her to a tracking chip, which she promptly destroyed. She dug further and did the same to the secondary one. One by one she relieved the soldiers of any spare ammunition they had; there was no telling how long the ammunition she took from the guild during her exit would last. A convenient excuse to kill whomever with no fear of consequence. She nodded; he knew what he was talking about, even if he didn’t seem quite all there. She’d be hard pressed to come up with ten names that didn’t fit that description. “Agreed. It’s nothing but a cult for glorified murderers now. Hiding behind a false sense of ‘greater good’ helps humans sleep at night while atrocities are committed not ten feet away.” She grunted. “Ignorance is bliss, but justification is freedom.” Another rifle clicked as she removed the two tracking devices. Never hurt to have another for spare parts. She gave him a look, less hostile than before and more just… curious. It was hard to get a read on the Mad Dog. So far, though, he seemed to be on her side, if only due to their mutual enemies. She had to take his word for it. With a shrug, she went back to her scavenging. “You must be no stranger to the woods,” she said. “I can’t imagine you live in any of the cities. I’m not sure how you managed to find a kill team tracking me, but I should thank you for assisting me. So, thank you. I suppose the question now… is where do we go from here? My knowledge of Axium is limited at best. And the other Axium lead I had, another experiment, was already killed by hunters.” |

Ripley’s face twisted into yet another sadistically demonic grin. “I have my ways,” he said. “There are all sorts of cracks and crevasses for ones such as ourselves to go to ground. And, as I mentioned before, most of the mangy dogs are nothing if not inept.” His grin grew painfully wide upon hearing words of gratitude spoken. “Believe me when I say that it was my pleasure. I’m rather fond of my art, and the this presented me with a most enjoyable opportunity to practice it.” So much material for his next piece! Perhaps he would dedicate it to this meeting? Or perhaps he could inform those Axuim dogs that their operative would never be safe?
So many wonderful options!!!
“Well, that would depend upon you, Miss Caroline,” Ripley replied. “If this is to be our last meeting, then I shall humbly accept your decision and unravel my thread from your tapestry.” He paused and his smile reduced itself to a more serious expression. “The only issue is that I might not be as inclined to assist you should Axuim or even the Guild come knocking again. Not that I doubt your abilities in the slightest, but even you have your limits and there may come a day when you find your skill insufficient of task at hand.” Another pause followed to allow the weight of that statement to sink in. It was no causal threat; merely an informing of the possible dangers of being wanted for various reasons by some of the most powerful institutions in the world.
“However, there is an alternative to such an outcome,” he continued. “As it stands, your goal is to remain hidden until such time as you find more leads in your . . . investigation, shall we say? I too wish to see Axuim burn, yet I lack the skillset to discover their roots so that I may rip them out; however, I am an accomplished reaper of lives and there are more than a few that would see me brought to heel.” The smile returned. “What I suggest is that we enter an arrangement, you and I. My role will be one of diversion. I shall hold the attention of those that seek to capture you while you continue to hunt for leads from the safety of the shadow cast by my exploits. I might also be so inclined as to share a few stolen secrets with you.” MADE BY SUNBUNS

I AM NOT MERCIFUL I AM NOT KIND I AM NOT AFRAID TO MAKE YOU WISH THAT I WAS So he was on the run too, ducking and dodging and counter-hunting just like her. Unlike her, though, he seemed to consider this some sort of “art” instead of a way to make the world a better place. She didn’t question it: it seemed this was an unexpected gift horse, and she knew better than to look it in the mouth. He’d probably bite her if she did, knowing the history of the Mad Dog. She went from soldier to soldier, snapping necks and scavenging parts for what seemed to be an escalating battle between ex-Axium experiments and the corporation itself. She considered his words; it seemed he was giving her a choice, albeit in a veiled, indirect threat. She knew she couldn’t avoid the hunters forever; hell, she was counting on it. She wanted them to come at her stupid, and in force, and put a bullet in every single one. But at the same time… an ally never hurt. Could she trust him, though? Hell, did she have a choice? “So, if I understand you correctly, I should keep doing what I’ve been doing, and in turn, you’ll help keep hunters and mercs off my back?” Seemed like that wasn’t much different than what they were doing already, but the chance at more information… well, that was some juicy bait. “Really, you should share the secrets with me regardless, as we seem to be on the same side as far as Axium is concerned. Still, I understand the world; information for information, give and take.” She paused as she held her boot over the last neck, mulling over the offer. “I’ll accept,” she said. SNAP! She turned to Ripley with a slight glare. “For now. If I find you untrustworthy, though, you’ll have something to actually worry about in these woods.”
