[attr="class","maph1"]New Country. New Language. It was odd however that the school was forcing her into socializing. She much rather just be at her home, or working, or at the range. Anywhere really, but here. Instead the girl had gotten the go ahead to do anything from the list that the teacher provided. One of those things was going to a chess club in the park. Normally Maia would have dreaded the interaction, but for now she was going to go along with it. Being fairly adequate at chess, a game she played with her grandfather, Maia knew she wouldn’t do too horribly. Plus the club met fairly early in the morning on Saturdays. She reckoned that there would be much less people around. Besides, Chess was normally played by older people, so she hoped she would be playing with one of them. Maia didn’t mind interacting with older people. In fact she was quite happy with it as she was much more comfortable around elder people. They seemed not to be as judgmental as kids her age. Thus Maia had left the house at six am, and had made her way to the park with the gps. She did manage to end up getting lost along the way, but she had finally found where she was trying to go, albeit a half hour later. Sitting in one of the chairs that housed an outdoor chess table, Maia played a couple of games with a few of the senior citizens. Most of them went well. She only lost a couple, but it was nice to not be prodded for communication. Chess was the main focus for the girl and she would be willing to play with as many people who wanted to play. Adjusting her cap the Ikigaian sat and waited for the next person to approach. She wondered who she would be playing against next. “Check mate” she giggled, imagining her win. |
