"Thank you." The Runic professor smiled politely as she was seated. This was something Emiko looked forward to every year. Being an immigrant from the Western Isles it was nice to see traditional meals that she hadn't experienced since a child eating her mother's cooking.
What should she start with? Everything looked fantastic. The smells alone were incredible. Emi folded her hands upon her lap as she pondered decisions. Should she go unconventional and do dessert first? Belgian waffles didn't sound too shabby either. It would be at that moment that a plate of skewered barbecued crickets would walk past on a platter that would cause Emi's nose to wrinkle. Non-insect dishes would probably be best.
Emiko would wave down one of the volunteer waiters to order to pause as she watched a gentleman come to join her at her table. It was a busy time of the year. She wasn't much surprised that she'd have to share her seats. "Hello," Emi would offer with a well taught kind smile.
