The humid heat of summer had never bothered Rynth, still wearing her regular stuffy jeans and white button up. The snake magi's cold blooded contrasted nicely with the heat and it wasn't too difficult to feel at ease. This had not driven the thoughts of recent events from her mind... the latest riot and the enforcement of a curfew on the magi community. As the MLM could and would only ever respond with one means when push comes to shove. Violence... Violence in the name of righteousness and defense... but it did hurt their cause greatly when those caught in the cross fire were the humans they were trying to sway and the magi they hoped to defend. She had hoped to keep collateral damage to a minimum with her involvement with the MLM, but she had no impact... no influence... she was no one among her peers. She had abandoned their cause once and they believed she would do so once more when things were at their worst. Rynth might have believed the idea herself until memories of lives long lost bubbled to the surface of her mind. Her identity shattered as she discovered just what she could be capable of with influence, charisma, and the guile to infiltrate and control the political arena. She had been involved with one of her past selves... and she was attempting to organize them under one goal. Rynth had hoped she convinced Alvina, but she hasn't quite erupted the others to the surface. Rynth herself couldn't help but what wonder if the efforts and involvement with the MLM had been for nothing... but she woud not allow her efforts within her own community to be in vain. The magi had been traveling every other day to a community center within the slums in an attempt to provide better opportunities to the younger generation of magi. She had posted openings for classes and after the first week she had anticipated far more magi than she had anticipated. Primarily those within their twenties through thirties. Those that lived in the other camps and had sustained no education throughout there stay. Only to be reintroduced to modern society without some means to regain their footing as a modern day citizen. She began by herself teaching basic Ethean language and math to those that would come. Eventually others within the community came to aid and help her educate as well. Magi that had lived lives before the camps were welcomed by many of the younger generations. It was only her eighth week of class and so far she had found the questions and intuitive nature of her students to be a warm reminder of the children she had taught in her camp. Several of which came to actually help her. It had been so long... so very long since she felt this happy. So much so that she couldn't help, but feel the familiar warmth she had thought she lost within this life.... Family. The bustling and noise-filled street of the slums reminded her why she had gotten a cheap apartment outside of the slums, too many people, but dammit she was here to make a difference. With renewed vigor she pushed further on into the slums, holding the bundled up package close to her chest as to not lose it or worse, it gets stolen by some desperate Magi. It was sad really that this is what her people had come to, many of them wouldn't think twice about stealing from or robbing their brethren only to make each day easier, it was a horrible way to live and yet she was powerless to change it on the big picture. That was the reason why she looked at the small picture, the big picture consisted of many small pictures. She could not change the world or how it worked, but she could change the whole world for a few lives. Today she was making her way to a class that had been taught regularly lately and she enjoyed sitting there with her bundle of food just listening in, trying to act like she didn't come to learn, like she was just there to feed the children during break. She did learn much tho, she hadn't gotten an education before so listening was really helpful. She did not, however, dare to ask questions because that would not only make her center of attention but also she'd feel stupid among the younger magi. There were other teachers too and Angie admired them, they were role models if anything and she again now sat there, in awe with a few cloth-covered packages of food she had made herself, looking around nervously to see that no one was paying too much attention to her. Her magi traits really made her stick out in most environments, even if she wear casual clothes like she did now. She was waiting for an opportunity to give Rynth the food so she could distribute it between the students as she saw fit. She licked her lips nervously, waiting for someone she saw more worth than her. Rynth Lumaban

Rynth had taken time to know each one of her students on some meaningful level. Her ability to use illusions allowed for a more grandiose means of teaching, but despite her need for illusions in teaching she had made the decision to reveal her magi traits to her class. Despite her more comfortable nature to hide these features. The desire to hide and to disappear completely contradicted her actions now. Her sense of duty and hope for a younger generation of magi filled her as it did while she was teaching within the camps. The lucid happiness of her many students filling her with a sense of warmth she found nostalgic. It was in this warmth she found herself far more kinder than she would had been at her job. Giving each of her students time to talk with her as well as to connect with her. She clings to the idea that maybe they'll lead happier lives than the previous generation. Making themselves so ingrained in society that to remove them would be akin to destroying the very society they wish to rule. For now though, they must find the means and the strength to rise above those that would press them down into nothing. As her class begins to work again on another one of her assignments she decides to move over to another student of hers. One that has seemed keen on remaining out of the sight of the others. Approaching Angelique to grab her attention, tapping her table as she was working on the basic assignment. "Earlier before class you said you wanted to talk to me about something?" She listened as well as she could and smiled at the magi's use of her powers to teach, it was awe-inspiring and brought her hope in one swoop. She had never had the chance to be taught in the past due to being born in the camp and as soon as she got out she was put to work as a 'sign of goodwill' when in reality she knew it was to make her a scapegoat in case something went wrong. She let out a small sigh and noticed how the teacher, Rynth was walking up to her and she looked a little flustered as she fixed her posture, standing up. "Well yes, you see, I uhm... I made food and was thinking if you wanted to hand it out to the students in any way you... like, you uuuh... could" She was blushing, turning her naturally pink cheeks a soft magenta color " You don't have to, I just thought it'd be nice since many of them don't have enough to eat normally" She squirmed some and held out the bags of food she had been hauling around all day, like she was scared she'd lose them if she put them down somewhere. She was also still clearly nervous for some reason, such was just her nature, really, nothing anyone could do to change that. Rynth Lumaban

Watching the several moments of her student nervously speak out her intention for the meal she had apparently prepared for the class. Rynth didn't need the ability of empathy to deduce that the girl before her was far more embarrassed about her own presence here. It was a noble gesture, but one that couldn't go without notice by the others or some merit of reward. "Well that is very kind of you. I'll be sure to distribute it once everyone has finished their assignments." It wouldn't take too much time to finish with the assignments as she made sure to collect the food at the front of the class. Once finished she gathered her student's attention towards her. "After you are all finished passing your papers to the front, I would like everyone to say a big thank you to your fellow classmate Angelique Bonhuer. She has brought food for everyone to enjoy so please ensure you show her your gratitude." She made sure to bring attention to her student, but ensured she wouldn't take in the attention alone. Walking away from the front she allowed the student's to pick as they wanted rather than distributing it. Moving back to Angelique ensure she would be thanked by her personally. "It would be far better to watch them as they learn empathy of their own will." She said pointing out how despite how hungry each of them might be that they would share and talk to one another. A smile spread on her face when she was being praised by the teacher of the class, she didn't really know hot to deal with praise but nodded a little and swallowed before she spoke. "Thank you miss" she said and smiled, taking a deep breath to calm herself down some. She tried to finish some assignment as quickly as she could, just to see how the others would react to getting something nice in their belly. Who knows when they'd get their next meal here in the slums? it made her sad to know her people was so low in the eyes of humans that they could be herded into the slums like this and if she could do anything to lessen their burden, if just a little it was her duty to do so. She froze in her seat though as Rynth called out that it was she that had given the food. She licked her lips nervously as some of the students called out in happiness and ran towards the front to get food. Angie soon found that the teacher was next to her and she nodded as she watched the students share some food to each other and she looked to Rynth. "I look up to you" she mumbled in a breath and blushed dark pink-magenta. "You do such a difference to everyone here, all I do is give them a meal every now and then, it doesn't help in the long run..." She sighed and plastered on a smile for a kid that wanted to hug her and kept the smile on after they had left to get food. Rynth Lumaban

As the rest of the students began eating, this situation provided and opportunity she had longed to obtain for quite a while. Gaining her student's attention she motioned to several tables away from the rest of the class. Having Angelique sit with her as the rest of the students were off socializing with one another. There is a brief silence as they are facing one another before she finally speaks up. "Ms. Bonheur, I've taken some time to ask and around and gauge your current history with education and after what I've discovered there was something I wish to offer to you when you have enough free time to spend." Clasping her hands together as she takes a moment to let her student take in what might be offered before continuing. "I understand that not many within your generation were afforded the same opportunities or luxuries as those older than you. So I simply wish to offer more of my time to you so you can accelerate your education." The sincere offer she wished to hand off to her wasn't made lightly. The gravity of how much time she may be pulling away from her own personal agenda as well as her work from the shop was a price to pay, but a price she could easily afford. Collecting her mind to allow a simple illusion of small stick like figures play on the table. As over time they multiply doing different things that can easily be related to any such job an individual could think at top of their head. With one of the figures climbing onto Rynth's hand slowly shifting into shape and appearance of Ms. Bonheur. "Tell me what you wish to become and I will do my best to guide you onto that path... whether it be a doctor, engineer, chef, or whatever your heart guides you to." As she said each possible career the mini Ms. Bonheur shifts what could easily be perceived as a doctor, engineer, and chef. On the teachers request she sat down at a lonely table and swallowed loudly, fearing what might come next, a thousand little thoughts rushing through her head, she always assumed the worst when it came to social situations. Her inhuman eyes ficated on the teacher as she said she had digged around some in Angies past, she guessed some of her old camp-mates lived here in the slums, that way she could have gotten alot of info. She hummed, she was being offered something from the teacher? She guessed through the contet what it could be and she blushed as she felt some embarassed guilt that she took up some of the teachers time like that. "Y-you don't have to" she mumbled very silently and looked down at the table. As the teacher went on she remembered how it was in her childhood, the hungry days the cold dark nights and she shook her head a little to get rid of the thoughts before she focused back on the teacher with her usual plastered on smile, those who came to know her knew it was seldom genuine. "You are too kind to me, I have done nothing to deserve this" she protested as she watched the little figures do their thing. Before she focused on the one that became her and she sighed softly, dropping the faked smile and licked her lips before she answered. "Truth is, I don't know what I want to be, I just... I just want to help people, Magi, Human, even goddamn cyborgs, I just want to be able to help them, to see everybody healthy" she glanced over at the students eating her home-cooked meal as if that was proof of her clam and then focused back at the zero magi teacher.
