PLOTTERs 101

What is a Plotter?
Basically, it’s a post you can write to let people know the ways they can thread with your character. It’s much quicker to navigate than an app and gives you a chance to sort of expand on your character. It's a place where you can discuss possible plots with other members.
Why Should I Write One?
The main reason I can think of is to put yourself out there and show people how they can interact with your character. People will peruse plotters to find dynamics that they find interesting, to see what a character is open to, to reference when asking you if you want to thread, and so forth. Having a plotter makes things easier for you and whoever you want to RP with.
How to Write a Plotter
There’s really not a right or wrong way, nor are there any requirements. It’s totally up to you. Just think of the different ways you can interact with other people. The most common ones are Friendship, Enemies, and Romance. However it's worth noting that there’s no limit to what you can include.
Let’s use “Friendship” as an example (and again, feel free to get ideas from completed plotters). You’d make a section titled “Friendship” or something similar and then kind of talk about what it means to be friends, how to become your friend, what a friendship might entail, possible plot ideas with friends, etc. How you write it and what you include is 100% up to you!
Sometimes, people will type a small summary of their character before they start listing, so feel free to do that, too, or leave it out. The world is your oyster!
Ideas and Tips
Again, nothing here is required, but if your brain is stuck, feel free to use some of these ideas:
♫ Friendship/Enemy/Romance are probably the most common three. Even if you’re a super friendly character, it’s worth putting that you’re not likely to have enemies.
♫ Working: Is work a big part of your life? (hunter? Business owner? Cop? Salesperson? Teacher?) If so, it might be worth making a section about what you’re like as a work partner, how you treat your customers, and/or what your personality is like at work.
♫ Schooling: Pretty much the same as working but with school. How are you as a student? Do you need a study buddy?
♫ Sexual Partner: (Reminder: Currently, Inertia is PG-13 in terms of explicit sexual roleplay. Anything of this nature must “fade to black”). Are you open to all the fun without any of the hassle? Aromantic? Promiscuous? Several people have sections for this, so don’t be afraid to make this separate from romance!
♫ Misc: Is there something specific to your character? For example, Cadence Avia has a section for bandmates/talent agents since she’s a musician; Maevia Inclemens has sections for “Agents” and “Clients” due to the nature of her job.

There aren’t any right or wrong items to include in a plotter.
So have fun! And enjoy plotting!
