"You know that this plan of yours is probably going backfire, I've seen quite a few magi with cow and chicken features and a barbecue seems kinda... inconsiderate?" His brother pointed out. Jonathan sighed and turned to face his magi brother. (Well, currently sister, Kai was experimenting with their ambiguity and was delighting in the feminine form right now). After that riot down in Dagos there was no sense in staying, tensions were high enough and it was only going to get worse, that much was obvious. In any case it was time for them to move anyways, the gang activity was getting a bit out of hand and Kai's morning walks were... well, shot to death essentially. Leading them up to this point, with Kas criticizing a perfectly fine barbecue. Although they did have a point about the cow magi. He promptly threw the still grilling steak and the stove cooking it into one of the storage rooms in their house. Much to the chagrin of his brother. "What's the matter, I have enough money to buy another if it's broken." He argued politely. "That isn't the point! You wouldn't have to buy another one if you took care of it! Now come on I had something prepared earlier and you're going to come with me." Kai pouted, their tail swishing side to side as they dragged them too the front yard.
"Honestly Kas what did you drag me..." Jonathan stopped. While he had been busy inside working on the living arrangements his brother had been busy outside, constructing, this. It was a rickety, sadder variation of the classic, and rather cliche, lemonade stand. But Kas, being the sweet and troublesome child he is, modified it to be a 'free hugs' and 'story time' stand. (With brotherly commentary and date set ups included.) The librarian could swear he heard hammers going on outside but never stopped to think why they would need hammers for construction. The Haven Magi here were quite capable of building buildings with their magic from what Kas has explained. "Kas, I hope this isn't your way of introducing me to our new neighbors, I'm sure that any sensible magi in Haven wouldn't look twice on a human like me, much less "Date"." He quoted with hand signs. Kai merely brushed it off with a sour look and explained that even with Haven's accepting atmosphere some magi still illusion-ed themselves to look human. "And besides it wouldn't hurt to get to know our neighbors, the only person we know here is-"
"Mr. Akashi." Jonathan interrupted.
"-And his gang." Kai finished. Jonathan tilted his head a bit, the confuse blatant on his face. "He doesn't- Wha- I'll talk to him about this later, meanwhile don't go saying things like that, people will get the wrong idea."
Kai nodded understandingly, still hyper though, and dragged him to stand, seating both of them in opposite facing chairs. From there he'd cheerily call out to passing street walkers, or crawlers, some fliers too. Although a lot of them had enough sense to stay away and wave politely as they went about their day, ignoring the kitsune shouting various greetings into the Haven wind. Oh, even thousands of miles away from home things never changed did they?
