Overall: Avalon is a great guy, except for his vengeful ticks around the University. In life he was a playful, jubilant character, not unlike his current reincarnation's brother. Avalon was a great lover of the Runic arts and the University. After his death and betrayal however, that love has turned to bitter hate. You'll find that his original whimsical personality is still quite intact in any other given situation however.
He was rather open and fair to any he met regardless of their racial, mostly because he didn't really see race as relevant as opposed to active kindness. Avalon's fascination with magic also helped tremendously when interacting with magi.
His shameless and innocent personality also made him quite sociable and talkative, if not prodding at times.
Biography:
For as long as he could remember the University had been his castle. That insurmountable goal that brought nothing but joy in his life. He could remember spending a great deal of his time studying to join the University, more clearly could he recall the exhilaration of finally being accepted. It was there he encountered his first and only love. They were both students at the time, and Avalon had a difficult time trying to befriend them. Though as the years passed and they progressed in their studies of the runic arts that they gradually grew closer and began to fall in love. It was after their graduation day that Avalon proposed, and they said yes. Then that was that.
A few years into their marriage Avalon was asked to return to the University, but as a teacher. He accepted and through his help we was able to get his spouse a job in the library. It was a win-win. Both get the pay check and the hours to see each other during the work day. It worked well until one day. Before they left for work a sudden scream overtook Avalon's beloved. When he rushed to their side he was more than a little unsettled to find that his beautiful betrothed had grown a set of devilish horns and blackened eyes, as well as clawed nails.
It would seem that he had inadvertently married a non-maj. His lover was crying and bleeding and begging him not to leave, after a few hours of dressing their wounds and reassuring them that he still loved them, he had to leave and clear up a few things at the University before they could leave.
It should have been so simple, get two resignation forms, and wait for them to be processed, but that troublesome tattoo they gave him when he became a teacher would prove to be his downfall. When asked why the sudden change of vocation he was forced to answer truthfully, and unaware of the nature of the command seal he told the whole story. Suffice to say, the university was irate. A magi with the knowledge of runes? It was unthinkable. So they commanded him to murder his partner when he got home, and not to tell anyone about this command.
Though he tried to fight it he knew that there was no denying their request. However he could bend it at least, or try to. Avalon began setting the house on fire and walked through the bottom floor, giving whatever chance he could to allow an escape, then moving up, he went off in search of his beloved upstairs. However instead of running away his partner choose to stay behind and try to evacuate Avalon. The professor tried to throw them over the side of stairs and into a deep fall but unfortunately got caught by the momentum and tumbled down with his betrothed. His betrothed fell head first onto the table, scattering wood everywhere, while he had fallen on his legs, twisting them beyond a chance for escape.
Even as he died Avalon did what he could to comfort his lover, embracing them as they bleed out and suffocated. Whispering apologies. With his last dying breaths he proclaimed his eternal love to his partner, and with his last thoughts swore eternal revenge on those who brought about their tragedy.
