It has been a long, tense day across the length and span of Ethea. Thousands of citizens of every race have gathered together to show their support for their side of the issue. The cacophonous swell of opposing voices fills the air as each side attempts to drown out the other with the sheer volume of their voices. While the day has passed with few incidents, tensions are high and the people are restless. Hours have passed since the polls first opened and the hour in which the results will be revealed. A loud, clear voice cuts through the noise like a knife, demanding the attention of all in attendance. “Ladies and Gentlemen, citizens of Ethea, if you would please direct your attention to the screen for just a few moments, the voting results have been compiled and we are ready to announce the conclusion. A hush falls over the gathered crowd and hundreds of individual faces turn to face the gigantic holographic display or towards the monitors by which those not in attendance have tuned to watch the historic event. 00:00:0500:00:0400:00:0300:00:0200:00:0100:00:00The hologram shifts from the image of a clock and displays the results. The law has been passed. In a split second's timing uproar follows. One side rejoices while the other laments; all raise their voices in either praise or disgust. DAGOSAn overjoyed man in his late thirties flings his arms in celebration, losing his grip on the camera he’d been using to record the event. The device flies straight and true as though guided by the hands of fate itself and strikes one of the opposing protesters. The young woman falls flat, bleeding from a head wound. Outrage follows and all semblance of order is lost. The overzealous are the first to react, flinging themselves over the concrete dividers that separate the two groups. Fists fly and hateful slurs are shouted as mob mentality takes hold. The fight quickly turns lethal as picket signs are used as clubs and other, deadlier weapons are drawn. FELICIOld men toss jeers and slurs at a group of young magi. One of the members finally has enough and pushes the human away from her with an anger that sparks into minor flames at her fingertips. The reaction of the men is to scream in horror. "She's trying to kill us!" would be the cries heard above all else as they attempt to escape their deaths, all but one who pulls a gun on the woman who had singed his shirt just moments before. From there all sides come in to support the ones they believe to have been the true victim. Hunters, police, representatives of the Runic University, and MLM members who had been stationed there in case of such a reaction. CAMLORNSmaller townships such as Camlorn are slower to descend into madness, but descend they do. Upon hearing of the situation in both the capital and Dagos, local military commanders give orders to suppress any potential riots by any means necessary. Unfortunately, these orders are interpreted as authorization to fire upon both sides and Camlorn follows the example given by the large cities. The scene is one that replays itself in horrifying detail across the land. Many watch in horror as the chaos erupts. Some attempt to flee while others merely watch in utter disbelief, though one thing is shockingly clear. The Second Magi Riot has begun.

Aeon had come to vote pretty late and then he had lingered around holding a sign mixed on the side of the magi supporters because he figured if chaos was going to erupt would be in that particular side of the protesters. He was wearing a blue hooded shirt, on top of that a long black jacket with hidden pockets, simple jeans, a pair of sneakers, cat ears and a surgical mask. Hidden beneath his clothes were sheathed knives and two guns. He wasn't particularly masterful with either weapon, but it would be stupid to come unarmed. As one would expect some of the Humans and Magi there harbored considerable animosity toward each other and it showed in their demeanor. Some of those protesters looked like they were ready to punch whoever was on the other side at the drop of a hat. He wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. He figured it didn't really matter either way, because on that day another chapter in the history would be written. Good or bad, probably a bad one. But he really had no interest in that, he knew what would be expected of him, but he wasn't entirely interested in keeping the peace either, he was annoyed. He considered dropping his sign to go back to his room to sleep, fak all of that. He was sure as hell bored and had no interest it watching people scream at each other for so much longer. Luckily, he did not have to wait anymore because an announcement caused all of them to suddenly shut up and turn to watch expectantly for the result of the vote. Aeon thought everyone was standing in a dead silence in which he would have been able to hear a pin fall. Aeon looked too, of course, he was about to find out if things would get ugly or if things would get ugly fast. Either result was the same for him because people being people would be dissatisfied. And then people being people would behave moronically. The catch here is how stupidly they would behave, best case scenario a few persons end up arrested; the crowd is ordered to disperse. Bad ending, he'd have something to do and hopefully wouldn't end up dead. "The law has been passed." It was what the screen read. It was all to simplistic and a lil bit anticlimactic in his opinion. But, the tension in the air cut have been cut with a butter knife. There it was, now there was a curfew for Magi and he was sure people like him would be supposed to watch it was enforced. Without looking back at the crowd with his eyes glued to screen he started to hear the shouts of joy followed by the complaints of magi and supporters alike. He scratched the back of his head dropping the sign he held and looking at the people. Ah, the arguments are starting. Aeon took a few steps back and stood up behind a street pole observing the scene. He was somehow expecting that some gung-ho idiot nut started to fire on his side of the crowd or vice versa. He was taking preventive cover. He was far too young and beautiful to get shot here. A few sparks flied here and there, no doubt ignited by a few frustrated fire magi trying to get a hold of their explosive emotions. If one of those magi wasn't careful.. well certain things would start to happen and he wasn't sure he had brought enough ammo for that. Surprisingly both sides were trying to hold their peace. Aeon's nonexistent faith in humanity would of have been restored if suddenly everyone decided to go home and sleep on their frustrations. And then.. some soldiers started to shout people needed to calm down and the next thing he knew they were shooting at people. Oh, great. They are shooting bloody everyone. The army, such geniuses... Welp, that was his queue to draw one of his guns. People never dissapointed his low expectations on them. It was very difficult to tell from where he was standing which side of the crowd was getting shot at the most and he had the impression the army were in a panic of some kind. What's in the hell? The craziness didn't start right away, but gee its started so well, that he was convinced that by the morning there would be more than a few bodies to pick up. He uttered a quick prayer for Kalidas before he moved from his spot. It would be better if he were to regroup with the other hunters. He lowered himself as he ran. He wasn't as stupid to stick his head out of the crowd and get shot.

oh lord won't you show me am i the sinner or the saint oh lord won't you please tell me was all my suffering in vain
Sophia had been here for quite some time. It was only a couple hours into the voting when she had arrive but she was mostly here for security. Some of the Hunters were expected to be here, to supervise and keep any violence under control. So that was what Sophia was doing as she voted and kept her distance, surveying the area and watching as Magis on one side spewed hateful comments and humans on the other side spew threatening words. Something Sophia should have expected to see but certainly caused a certain emotion to erupt but wouldn’t reveal.
She was in her typical attire for when she wanted to show she was a part of the hunter’s guild. She wore a pair of beige jeans that were almost like jeggings with a white tank top and a brown jacket that covered her up. Her guns were placed on either sides of her hips in their holsters, open to the world to see in which she also recieved hate-filled glares and on the ocassion, a human that was siding with the Magis would comment on how ‘disgusted’ they were with her choices. Of course, nobody really had to know that Sophia did not agree with the law but she voted for simply to attempt to keep Magi safe.
During the entire voting session, Sophia kept to herself. Here and there she would leave to grab a coffee or some tea, but that was about it. She'd text her neighbor in her apartment complex and ask him to check on Nico in which her neighbor would respond back with a picture that her dog was doing quite okay. This made her happy of course that her dog was safe. She honestly thought about bringing her dog to the voting session as protection for herself yet she was nervous and knew she shouldn't so kept him home. Safe idea, honestly.
Suddenly, after hours, an announcement came about and caused everyone to immediately shut up. It was silent, silent Sophia had ever seen Magis and humans combined together and her eyes widened some before gluing them to the holographic display. She stood, watching as the screen counted down which seemed like forever. As soon as it hit 0:00:00. “The law has been passed.” On the screen. For everyone to see. She knew the government would choose humanity over Magis. This was all a charade, a flaw. Sophia’s brows furrowed as she eyed the screen a little longer as shouting began behind and all around her. They did this on purpose...
It was beginning. Madness was about to consume every place on this world and she was here, watching some of the madness go down. Her eyes shifted to look around as she witnessed a couple humans yelling in victory and then the Magis who in return were attempting to keep their peace and cool. Sophia was standing out of the large crowd, knowing well that it was unsafe for her to be so close.
Open fire.
She could hear countless screams erupting from the crowd. Humans were applauding the soldiers yet suddenly even humans were being shot down. Sophia’s eyes widened as she watched both Magi and humans being shot down, even those who were doing absolutely nothing but standing in complete shock. What the hell is happening…
Sophia yanked her guns from her holsters and pushed herself into the large crowd. She could hear the Magis screaming in pain, bodies were laying on the ground, humans were shouting for the shooting to stop before being hit with bullets. At first it seemed like it would end peaceful but it went from good to completely horrible very quickly. Sophia could see that.
Her eyes locked on an individual who was also running through the crowd and her immediate reaction was to get as close to him as possible and so Sophia’s speed picked up some. She went ahead and smoothly slid herself to run beside him as she glanced around. “What would you like to do?” She said, loud enough for the male she ran beside to hear her.

Oh, what a wondrous day to be alive! The sky was clear, the sun was smiling, the birds were singing, and the tension between the two opposing crowds was rising. The air was positively charged with explosive energy positively waiting for the right moment to discharge. Ripley watched expectantly from the rooftop he’d been squatting on for the past few hours. The dismembered remains of the Hunters whom had been guarding it were roasting under the sun in one corner of the roof and one of their forearms was clutched in his hands for him to munch on. It wouldn’t be much longer now if the gigantic woman holding the counting clock was any indication, so Ripley started limbering himself up with some stretches. When his servos were good and warm, he activated his war-sheathe and waited for the countdown to end.
00:00:05 00:00:04 00:00:03 00:00:02 00:00:01 00:00:00
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand......
Nothing.
Ripley blinked. Everyone was just standing still. The silence still dominated. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing, that no one was fighting! Why?! His drug-addled, maddened brain couldn’t comprehend why the powder keg that was the nation hadn’t exploded. Even the continuation of the shouting match that dominated the day couldn’t provide a sufficient spark He dejectedly leaned against his sword as he drummed his head on his skull and contemplated his rotten luck.
As though the Mad God himself had pulled a thread, chaos erupted alongside the glorious cadences of gunfire. The Royal Ethean Military opened fire on the protesters after some unheard order or another and was soon joined by the splendid roar of death and fear and destruction. The gathered crowds scattered for cover in the face of such firepower while some of their number chose this moment to engage in a splendid free-for-all. An inhumanly wide smile split Ripley’s face from ear to ear as he leapt from the roof, breaking his fall with some poor soul that hadn’t been quite as fast as his fellows. Then, with a merry song upon his lips, he swung his sword in every direction with reckless abandon. Soldiers, armed rioters, Hunters, innocent bystanders; all of them fell before him like a farmer reaping his wheat.
Such a beautiful day to be alive!!

Bam! Bam! Die You scum Magi! Noo brother! YOU HUMANS WILL PAY! Please stop! The cacophony of sounds: cries, pained yelling, bodies falling, gunfire, whimpers and pleas alike mixed all in a terrible symphony. It was in moments like this that he hated his heightened senses. The smell of blood and gunpowder permeated his nostrils. Aeon did his best to ignore the carnage happening all around him and just kept a watchful eye scanning for the most dangerous zones. He was looking around taking mental notes, he ran past whenever he saw an space through the chaos (not too open as he would like to avoid gunfire). He was doing his best to dissociate from the mess around him trying not to focus too much on heads being blown over or Magi unleashing their powers on anyone on sight that seemed remotely human or armed. It was a true bloodshed from any side. Goddammit people sucks. The army had lost all semblance of order and small units just dared to shot at everything that came close to them. Great, that means I can't ask for help from those morons. Not that it would have been a good idea, since it seemed they were in disarray and were completely unreliable, even by his low standards. It was amidst the clutter of people, that suddenly, a blonde woman came running. Her approach did not went unnoticed by his peripheral vision. It made him wary instantly and he clutched the handle of his gun ready to shoot, but otherwise he did nothing, as he was trying to save bullets and Kalidas would know he would hate to shot a potential ally. "What would you like to do?" - was her question, obviously directed at him. He glanced at her for a second then looked back ahead. Judging by her clothes, she could be a fellow hunter. Thanks, Kalidas. He unclenched his teeth to speak. "First, I think we need to find cover, then we'll assess our situation. I really think we should stay clear from the army, it looks like they won't be of help to anyone." He stopped on his tracks because bullets went flying past his head, ah shucks a small group of soldiers were shooting in their direction. Aeon made a face of displeasure, shot two or three bullets their way and without saying a word he turned around the corner assuming Sophia would easily follow him. He speeded up then slowed down when he thought that they had lost them. He stopped gasping for air with reckless abandon for the danger around them. He looked back trying to check if they had been followed then looked at the girl - "Are yo-?"- He was going to ask "Are you ok?", but he was interrupted when a severed arm just went and smashed against his face. Aeon stood there dumbfounded with a confused expression looking into space as the arm bounced of his face and fell on the ground. It took him more than a few seconds before he blinked bemused and then he looked around. He noticed right away the source, it was some crazy guy flinging a sword in every direction and rambling. He rubbed the back of his hand on his mouth cleaning the blood that had fell on him and looked at Sophia with and expression that wordlessly said "Oh shit".

oh lord won't you show me am i the sinner or the saint oh lord won't you please tell me was all my suffering in vain
As soon as Sophia reared herself to run beside the male, she was quick to eye her surroundings. It seemed like hundreds were dying, being put in harms way. Humans and Magi falling to their knees as blood spilled from their bodies. It was something she had never seen before and wish she would never had seen but unfortunately she did. Closing her eyes for a split second to rid such scenes, she reopened them a moment later with a hardened look. “The army has lost it. Have you seen them? They don’t know what the hell they are doing anymore.” She commented.
Suddenly the male came to a stop and so had she. Eyeing what was happening, she noticed the man lift his gun to shoot in a certain direction. Her eyes followed the bullets once she noticed that their were soldiers shooting at them. One of the bullets seemed to have come into contact with one soldier while another bullet grazed the leg of one. Yet he made it seem a lot more serious than it was. Sophia turned, turning the corner with the male and watching as he sped up which she did also to catch up to him.
The best thing they could do was run and run until they thought they lost the soldiers. She was almost positive they did, considering how big a crowd it was over there. The hunter slowed down a bit before completely coming to a halt. She was breathing decently heavy but she had channeled her breathing into her running to help her keep her stamina decent. Sophia looked over to the male as he looked at her and went to ask a question. Which was cut off by a severed arm smacking him right in the face.
Her hand immediately went to cover her mouth as she held back a laugh. It had been hilarious to watch the arm just smack him in the face then look to her with a confused expression. He looked lost before looking into space as the arm just bounced and fell to the ground. At this point the blonde could not hold back the laughter anymore. She put her guns into her holster and began laughing, hands going to her knees as she bent over a bit and just stood there laughing about what had just happened.
Bringing her body up straight once more, she took a deep breath before releasing a loud sigh. Calming down, she eyed the male who was now looking in a different direction. Her eyes followed and spotted a figure flailing about with a sword in hand… Rambling on about something… Her brows furrowed and she looked to Aeon, eyes widening at this point.
Why had the flailing figure look so familiar?

I could just gobble you up!~
Today was indeed a good day! The screams, the roar of battle, the acrid stick of gunpower, and the spray of blood was in abundance and Ripley reveled in it all as he slaughtered his way through the crowd. Everywhere his blade struck there were cries of anguish with death swiftly following on its heels. Limbs flew in every direction, bodies were crushed underfoot, and his maniacal laughter rung in his ears like a tolling bell.
It was glorious!
Ripley extracted himself from the crowd and sauntered into an alleyway for a quick rest; there was much killing to dole out today and he wanted to be sure that his endurance would last throughout. He whistled a merry tune as his strolled away from the carnage until he came to a stop upon sighting a pair of young hunters. His first instinct had been to run at them immediately and add their lives to the considerable tally he’d claimed on this day of days. He would have, but recognition hammered its way through his skull as a little gnome bearing a stop sign wandered into his path and gestured for him to halt; it was perhaps the only thing that had saved them from a grizzly fate.
“Sophie!!” Ripley exclaimed. “How wonderful to see you on this wonderful day. Chaos, death, dismemberment. Oh, it’s such a wonderful thing, isn’t it!?” He pointed the edge of his blade at his niece’s white-haired companion. “I see that you’ve even brought a friend to enjoy the festivities! It’s so nice that you’ve been doing well since that fateful night, though I’m rather said that you’ve joined with the Great Hussies’ gaggle of sheep.” MADE BY SUNBUNS

The look they exchanged had been brief, but Aeon thought she would have agreed that the man with the sword would have to be avoided mostly because even if he was distracted cutting on people ahead of them. The fact was, there were no guarantees he wouldn't notice the two of them standing there like bullseyes begging for attention. He nodded his head to an alley not far from there, the crowd was too thick to move elsewhere and Aeon was in no way willing to cross over the opening created by the unknown person with the sword. He would have to keep and eye peeled in case the swordsman came close to them. He would start to move as stealthily as he could manage sticking to the edge of the crowd and hiding behind cars whenever it was possible, at times like this he wished he was more experienced. Hopefully the two of them would be able slip unnoticed by the most murderous members of the mob. In the interest of not making much sounds he secured his gun back in its hidden holster and drew a knife. He swallowed thickly looking around every now and then. Ok well that was not how it went, but he didn't even have time to look back at his companion. Just a little before they reached their destination they caught the eye of two rioters. Aeon opponent was a man holding a sign that was all too bloody to read. Damn. The guy gave him a smug smirk and swung the sign his way, Aeon was forced to take a step back, and throw the knife from his right hand to his left one or he would have lost it when the sign impacted with his arm when he moved it to defend himself. A few wooden chips found their way into his skin. He was also pretty sure he would have a big purple bruise there very soon. Aeon lowered himself and swept his leg in order to bring the man down. It was unpleasant, but unavoidable he threw the knife at him, making a bit of a disgusted face when it made contact with his stomach. The knife went a lower than he had aimed as he was going for his shoulder, oh well left hand is no good. He didn't lose time as the man writhed in pain he moved closer kicking the sign away from his reach. He grabbed the man by the front of his shirt retrieved the knife and let him fall to the floor. With everything he didn't really pay attention to the man with the sword or where he was. He simply assumed he would stay put there killing or whatever. So it was, that when a voice resounded calling clearly "Sophie!!" his body shook with surprise, his eyes going immediately to the source of the sound. There he was, a whole lot closer than before, Aeon could see now his facial expression of joy and pleasure. He swallowed. Crap, we're done. Aeon knew just from having looked at him fight before that he was out of his league. An then it dawned on him. He was addressing the girl with him which made Aeon look at her with a very surprised expression. He had used the world wonderful at least three times. Nothing about this was wonderful in Aeon's opinion... but it would be best not to tell that to swordman. His heart that already felt beating out of his chest almost jumped out his mouth when the man pointed the sword at him. Friend of Sophie, would not have been the right way to call himself. Aeon narrowed his eyes feeling quite confused he didn't know what to make of the current conversation nor really understood what he was talking about other than the fact that he considered this madness a festival. " Well, Sophie you better know the correct answer. Cause I sure as hell don't." He thought looking at her. Either a friend or an unfortunate acquaintance; she would know better than him what to say to this man.

The man had to be avoided. Enough said. He looked like a danger and he had set off a bad vibe towards Sophia. Her eyes followed to where his head had nodded and she nodded in agreement.
Sophia was a stealthy person, she had done enough training in the academy and had graduated with perfect grades and such. She was also fairly good with her guns. So as the two moved along the crowd in a stealthy manner, Sophia had chosen to take charge if the male had allowed it. Of course she’d follow him, moving behind cars here and there and keeping close to where they were headed.
It didn’t go exactly as planned of course. They had gotten so close to their destination when she caught glimpse of two rioters. As Aeon took control of his own rioter, Sophia had to deal with the other which was fairly easily. Or so she thought.
As the female moved closer, she lifted one of her guns and pointed it the figure who was just smirking at her. “Your a little too short to be wielding such a weapon, don’t you think?” The male commented. He held what looked like a fairly sharp piece of wood. The fact he had called her short angered her. She pressed her finger on the trigger. Bam. Flew by, only grazing his shoulder which didn’t do much damage. With anger, the female took up a slight run towards him. The male prepped himself, prepared to swing his piece of sharp wood at her and when he went to swing, Sophia brought her body to the ground easily and slid across the ground a short distant, enough to make it underneath the wood and behind the male.
Her body lifted from the ground and she pointed her other gun to his leg and pulled the trigger. A scream, but his arm that held the sharp piece of wood flung back and caught itself along her brown jacket. The wood had easily ripped through her jacket and caught her skin, slicing it open easily. It wasn’t deep, but it stung and she felt it cut through. Pointing her gun at the male once more, she pulled the trigger and it hit him in the chest. It killed him. Or it would, he’d lay there until he bled out. Either one she was fine with.
As she stood there, shoving one of her guns in its holster and reaching her arm back to see how badly she had been wounded, her eyes flickered to her name being called. It was that man. The crazed one. Yet, only this time, he was closer and Sophia was able to make out who he was. Ripley. Ripley Maddox.
Wonderful? How was any of this wonderful? thousands were dying at this very moment, her own team members were dying. Hunters she knew and associated with were dying. Humans she might have spoken to were dying and the magi? They were probably getting the worst end of it all.
“Are you fucking kidding me?” Beginning that, she took a step forward to the man. “How the hell are you about to bring up that night after how many years of not seeing me?” She growled, pointing her gun at the male. “I joined because I needed a way to make myself feel better. To become a better person.” She snapped, her brows furrowed as she watched him. Oh, how angry she was at the fact he had just brought up the past like it was nothing. She was doing quite well, but seeing him had just brought back a ton of emotions.
Her body was trembling and it was obvious by the way her gun was shaking. She had a mixture of emotions ranging from sadness to anger to happiness. She was sad thinking about her past, angry that he was there, yet happy that she finally got to see her uncle after so many years. Yet it gave no excuse for what he had done or to even remotely act so happy in a time of hell. "and for your information, you have lost the privilege to call me Sophie. It is Sophia to you, mister." She snapped.
Sophia had to calm down. With a trembling hand, she let it drop and placed her gun back into its holster. Taking a deep breath, the woman looked to Ripley with disgust. She was pissed off. The woman hadn't planned on ever seeing him again until she was more skilled, capable of defending herself incase he ever tried to attempt to kill her like her parents. But that obviously didn't work. "So, how are we going to do this. Split or stay together?" The female questioned, glancing between the two. The female had completely ignored the fact her shoulder was bleeding.

Ripley made no move to assist the two young hunters in their struggle chose to stand by and watch instead. His assistance proved unnecessary in any event anyway and the three unfortunate fools fell writhing to the ground. He applauded the showing of their skills and treated them to one of his infamously disturbing grins.
“Bravo, my young ones, bravo!” he praised. The metallic thudding of his hands ceased when Sophia turned on him with guns drawn, though his smile stayed etched into his features. “Ah, but it was a night etched eternally into the tapestry that is your life, leading you to make the decisions you did. Alas, I cannot allow myself to question the result, even if I’ve seemingly lost the right to refer to my dearest niece with anything approaching a term of endearment. If it is your wish, I will only refer to you by your given name. What sort of uncle would I be to do otherwise, I ask you?”
Ripley fell silent to listen to Sophia’s question, then rubbed his chin thoughtfully. “Well, my goal in this is rather simplistic actually. You see, I figure that this glorious bedlam will last for most the day. With that in mind, I plan to waltz through the streets, sword in hand, and kill, murder, maim, slaughter, and otherwise rampage my psychotic, black heart out. If you feel so inclined as to follow in my wake, I may or may not feel obligated to ensure that you survive the day with as little bodily harm as humanly possible.” Another wicked grin twisted his features.
“Or not. I’m simply here to find as much enjoyment as possible.” MADE BY SUNBUNS

The anarchy continues to sweep through the unfortunate township like wildfire. Hundreds fell from the hard-faced militiamen and the barking of their weapons. Not since the dead rose in defiance of the natural order of things has Camlorn suffered such a devastating blow. Disciplined bursts of gunfire drilled into the backs of the fleeing masses, slaying and injuring many. In another section of town, desperate citizens gather freely weapons and ammo from sporting goods stores and other such venues in preparation for battle. Many had lost family and much of what they possessed months ago and they would be damned if what little they recovered was stripped from them.
Back in the town’s center, the magi that had survived alongside the human citizenry were attempting to hold the militia at bay. Walls of ice and stone sprung into existence while fireballs and flashes of lightning strike down one soldier after another. Some magi focus their efforts on dragging the injured to relative safety so that their wounds may be heal enough to escape the slaughter; many die despite the best efforts of these noble and generous souls.
Faced with a somewhat organized resistance, the militia forces break into individual squads to better face the enemy, for that is what their orders have designated these innocents as. A few individuals become separated from their teammates and thrust into turmoil with nothing but the gear they’d acquired beforehand. Some are fortunate enough to regroup with their fellows and continue the attack; others are caught by rabid mobs of angry citizens and bludgeoned to death; many more are simply unable to safely return and abandon their posts in fear of death.
And there in the thick of the mess came the more heavily armed soldiers to put down the worst of the threats. One squad in particular was making it’s way towards the epicenter of the mayhem when they sighted the trio in the alleyway. Their equipment and patches distinguished them from the normal troops; these were members of the REM’s elite special forces and not figures to be lightly trifled with. Those that did typically winded up dead in record time. As the leader of the group looked into the alleyway, his visor locked onto the individual wielding the large and bloodied blade and the two standing beside him.
“Three hostiles at twelve o’ clock; one of them is 'Mad Dog' Maddox; focus fire on him! Switch to AP rounds now, spread out and engage!" The other members followed the barked commands with rapid speed, switching out their guns’ magazines for the heavier munitions. Then, they swiftly moved themselves into position to best fire at their three enemy targets.

From the conversation between Sophie and Ripley he got a few things, one the man still creeped him out, he was her uncle, she was indeed a hunter and something had happened one night that Aeon didn't dare to imagine what could that possibly be because it couldn't possibly be something that he would want to know (still what he would have imagined would be millions times better than what actually happened). He settled with taking wooden chips from his arm and then reloading his gun while they spoke for no other reason than avoiding eye contact with the man. There was something about the blood splatters on him and his wacked smile that creeped him much more than the whole carnage around them. He finished looking up when Sophia asked if they were going to split or keep going together. Aeon took a few moments to ponder about it letting Ripley to answer first. The other man didn't waste the chance to let them know how much he was enjoying this awful day which brought a small frown to his face. For Kalidas, he even felt the glee on his voice. Aeon rolled his eyes with a tired sigh before answering himself. "Well I reckon there is strength in numbers so I think we should stick near him for the moment, Sophie" - He said looking at the female they hadn't been properly introduced, but he couldn't keep himself from trying to make it look like he was close enough to use it in front of the other man. Even if it was to slight the stranger just a tiny bit since the woman had said he had lost the right. His eyes darted from Sophia to the other man explaining further "Even if you don't help us, with that attitude of yours, people will either avoid you or concentrate their fire on the bigger threat." - he said with a shrug. He waved his hand towards himself. "I'm Aeon." - He did so in way that seemed he was introducing just to Ripley, but it was meant for the both of them. He wasn't sure giving his name to a batshit crazy guy who loved murdering was a great idea, but he figured it couldn't be much worse than the mess they were facing at the moment. He waved his other hand gun still in there. "That said, I won't hold it against either of you if we get separated because it's no longer viable to stick together."Then he looked around scanning their surroundings spotting a group of heavily armed soldiers just as they were moving into position to fire upon them. Holy Tatara fucks, he took just a glimpse before he ran jumping behind a car, but they looked heavily armed. He didn't reach the car before a bullet went to meet his shoulder and another one gone to meet his calf. He patted down himself thinking he was relatively safe, but before he could check for more bullet wounds or even at his companion a bullets came whizzing by through the car. No way AP rounds, they were firing armor rounds right now at the car. Nope, nope, nope, nope....∞ This was positive overkill. Aeon was clearly panicking. The only advantage the car offered him was that they couldn't see him. 'Kalidas, please don't let me die yet.' - He whispered beneath his breath. Notes: wow sorry, I meant to answer sooner, but this cat decided to have a medical thing and I was forced to keep an eye on him at all times.

oh lord won't you show me am i the sinner or the saint oh lord won't you please tell me was all my suffering in vain
Sophia stared at Ripley as he spoke so highly of that night. He was correct, it lead her to make the decisions she made but she did not like the ones she made. If it wasn’t for Ripley, she probably would have went a different route. Maybe. She ignored his act of kindness, rolling her eyes towards him.
Of course he was. This was all he did. He enjoyed killing and nothing else. Her brows furrowed as her eyes shifted to look to Aeon. He had agreed to stick by him and her mouth opened slightly, looking to Ripley. He even used the nickname, perhaps to upset Ripley in which she highly doubted. But the man had a point that if they followed him and didn’t help, people would avoid or attack him only. He was a threat after all… Running around, killing all who crossed his path.
Sophia thought for a moment as she looked between Aeon and Ripley. With little thought, she released a sigh. “Ripley… Can you please help me and Aeon get out of here safely? I will be… very grateful for your act of kindness and gladly will repay you.” She said, her eyes shifting to the ground. What else was she suppose to do? If it was just her and Aeon, she was almost positive the two would maybe end up dead or severely hurt. With Ripley, she knew well he would create a path for them to escape with little to no damage at all.
Yet, she was wrong. So very, very wrong.
Her eyes shifted as she noticed Aeon had lost his focus. Her eyes landed on the heavily armed soldiers and her heart dropped. “Fuck..” She whispered under her breath, heart slamming against her chest. “Find cover!” Sophia yelled as she bolted from her spot. She was able to shove herself behind a dumpster, hidden from view if that was even possible for her. Then came the firing. But it didn't sound right. No... They were using AP bullets. She was dead. Sophia was going to die right here in the alley with Aeon and maybe even her uncle. What a way to go.

Hereeee's Ripley!!
I could just gobble you up!~
Ripley would not rise to anger when Aeon’s thinly veiled barb reached him; his jovial attitude was far to engorged by the senseless bloodletting to be upset by such a poorly concealed rudeness. That said, Ripley was far from a forgiving madman and he slowly turned a gaze filled to the brim with hungry malignance upon the young man. The smile etched across his face scarcely reached his eyes as he mused upon the many wondrous, gruesome ways he could end the whelping runt. Roasted alive? Fileted like a fish? Eaten one limb at a time while stimulants kept him conscious so that he might experience every second?
Oh, the possibilities!
“And maybe we’ll shall find ourselves in a situation where your bleating will be silenced like a lamb off to slaughter, but that is not for me to decide,” Ripley countered coldly. His spirits soared ever higher when he turned to his young niece and listened to her plea for him to protect her from the swirling maelstrom of violence and slaughter. She even offered him a reward for his services! Wonderful! Simply wonderful!
“Ah, who but a monster spawned from the deepest vaults of hell would dismiss a request from dearest niece out of hand? Not I, surely.” He bowed to Sophia in courtly fashion. “From this moment on, I shall be as the valiant knight defending his prince from danger.” Which seemed to rear its ugly head in the form of elite REM forces. Their leader hardly wasted any words in ordering them to engage. Excellent! Let the slaughter begin in earnest.
While the insolent Aeon dove behind a car like the cowardly sheep all Hunters were, Ripley would twist on his heel and deploy his shield from his left arm. He hefted it into position to protect his chest and head from the hail of bullets. He would charge moments later, whooping and giggling like a child as he brought his sword into position. The blade would flash down at an angle whenever he closed the distance between himself and his foes and the razor edge would eagerly bite into the flesh of the first unfortunate to draw to close. The REM force continued to fire down into the alleyway. Bullets rang out and pings off the walls of the buildings funneling the trio in. The shots were aimed to kill. Fortunately, however, Aeon’s earlier prediction rang true; most of the fire was being focused on the madman with the sword.
As Ripley put up his shield, bullets were almost immediately crashing against it. Thanks to his Tank Alloy, they didn’t reduce the cyborg into swiss. However, they were still doing some damage as the metal bent under the force from the munitions. A few even managed to punch through near the thinner ends of the shield, barely missing Ripley’s head a number of times.
When the madman drew near, most of the REM forces moved out of the way to keep a distance from him while continuing to fire. One soldier was unlucky. As the sword flashed outward it bit deeply into his body, crunching through the armor and making the soldier cry out with pain. He immediately crumbled from the blow, red flowing out from the tear made through the armor.
”No! You sick fuck!” One of the other soldiers roared angrily before more gunfire rained down on the madman now in their midst. Currently coming from multiple angles, some of the bullets could actually strike the man behind the shield. One or two even managed to punch through, puncture wounds behind in his leg and arm. The rest simply battered away and created even more dents, weakening the alloy further. Staying under this heavy of fire for long was not going to end well if more soldiers weren’t taken care of. And if the other two were paying any attention, they might see one of the soldiers pulling out something else other than their main gun to aim towards Ripley.
