| [attr="class","hbracket"]{ | [attr="class","htextbox"] [break][break] Oh lord, Dinner had suddenly become a very popular episode of the Jerry Springer show. He was positive that someone might pop out and say “cut” and all it a rap. Nothing like that happened and this only left River to stare down at his food with one hand resting on his temple. What on earth. Couldn’t these two figure out this kind of thing before he came over for dinner? Rubbing one temple, the silent hunter took a deep breath and let it out. He did his best to finish his meal and once it was done he would promptly stand with a small smile directed at Maia. [break][break] He gave her a polite nod and held the bow up in a gesture of thanks. Giving himself leave of the table he shot Oliver a look that read: What the hell man? At least he was lucky enough for Oliver to drop the subject of sex in front of him and the kid. That was just a tad too much for him. Talking about that stuff with adults was one thing but a child was a whole other ballgame. Not to mention River was more of a closed person who didn’t like to go around telling people he was going to get laid. He liked to keep things behind closed doors if possible. [break][break] Now if only Taiki could take a hint. [break][break] Ugh, right he didn’t need to think about his brother right now. Shaking his head he excused himself again and would wonder into the kitchen. This was the perfect moment to take a break from the Wynters and do some dishes like a good guest. He took care of his own dishes though he took his time cleaning up very, very, very slowly. Painfully slowly just to avoid what those two might be bringing up into their conversation next. He had to admit even though he didn't want to hear or be apart of their next conversation he couldn't help but tap into his skills to listen in on them just in case he was called back into the room for whatever reason. as long as you remember me, i don't care if everyone else forgets. [attr="class","quicklinks"]482 words Fine, I'll leave. And here she was trying to help. | [attr="class","technoscroll"] ❝ "Obviously." The teenager was certain that if the man in front of her knew that she had exsisted he would have asked her mother to have an abortion. She didn't ask to ebe born, but she was certain that the perm donor wouldn't have wanted her anyway That much was certainly clear. Besides it was her fault she was here now, he would have to deal with the consquences, such aas having a grossed out female teenager in twant thisShe really didn't want this to hapen in her house and she didn't want anyone to even think about having sex in the place where she lived. Frankly she shuddered at the thought and was well on the way to puking. The teenager didn't understand the want or need for sexual actions. She didn't get it, and wouldn't get it. It held no appeal for her, and it never had. She couldn't remember a time where she had an ever had a crush or wanted to kiss anyone. Sure some people looked good, but that didn't mean that she wanted to fuck them. That was highly irresponsible and honestly a waste of her time. The young teenager was just not into that, let alone public displays of affection. She wasn't ready to accept that she had t acknowledge that sex might be happening in her house and she had no say in the matter. And so the pout would happen, and she would roll her eyes, "Fine, your house. You made clear." Maia would get that certain look on her face that might echo a blank page. It was better to hide her emotions, but she would stand, bow in response to river's and look towards her sperm donor. "Receipt counter. Found sale." Before Oliver could say anything else she got up from the table and head headed up to her room. If it wasn't her house she didn't have to do the dishes. She would grab her bow and head back downstairs. Stopping in the kitchen she would smile at River before tilting her head, and speaking in almost perfect Ethean, it was a phrase she had been practicing and was going to tell Oliver later but he had ruined that. "I'm headed to the guild practice hall. Thank you for coming to dinner. I hope you enjoyed the ramen." If Maia wouldn't have a home here, she would just have to stay at the one place where she felt like she was accepted. There wasn't much to say or do except practice at the hall. She wouldn't have to deal with the fact that her sperm donor was giving more of his sperm out in her house. Oh wait, it wasn't her house. Once Maia had politely spoken to River, she would start towards the door with every intent to slam it. This teen was maybe having a melt down. |

| [attr="class","achee"] [attr="class","castleonthehill"] ❝ Finally. The girl seemed to finally understand and would agree to the sentiment. His house. It was a strict bold line in the sand he'd drawn. If he had budged at all it would have been a spiral cyclone downwards. Maia would have taken more and more. Guaranteed. Wasn't that what all those magazines said about raising a teenager Oliver had managed to skim just in time before Maia had been dropped off at his house. Sale. That was promising. At least it wasn't as expensive as it could have been. He would admit it tasted good. It was just a matter of seeing if Oliver thought it was worth it given the deliciousness to expensive ratio. The better Ethean would have surprised him but alas the exchange would be shared with River instead of him. The man would simply continue to enjoy his dinner. In all honesty Oliver didn't notice the girl had left or intended to leave until the front door could be heard closing. Huh. Drinking back the last of the broth from the bowl, Oliver would stand from the dining room table and would enter the kitchen. "So that's Maia." The older man would merely say as he set the bowl next to the sink where River cleaned up from that evening. A redundancy to state but a closure to that odd dinner. "I own a dishwasher, River." He'd say matter-of-factly, void of the usual emotions. You know, the usual. "You don't have to practically clean them, you just need to scrape them. The machine does the rest." With the amount of time River had spent in this kitchen, Oliver had caught on to the fact it was taking longer than it really should have. ✉ Enki River Maia Nomi♫ It's always sunny in Philadelphia ✎ so that's my daughter. now come on, let's go have the sex. |

| [attr="class","hbracket"]{ | [attr="class","htextbox"] [break][break] In truth, River felt bad for chasing Maia out of the house but there was very little he could do on the matter. He offered her a soft smile and a wave good-bye, it wasn’t until after she stepped out that it occurred to him that she just spoke perfect Ethean. Staring at the door with a slight drop of the jaw he tilted his head to the side, confused. Wasn’t Ethean new to her? How in the world did she just drop those three sentences so perfectly? His only guess was she had been practicing that for, probably, someone else and that caused him to frown. Glancing over his shoulder he caught sight of Oliver making his way over and he sighed. It didn’t take a genius to figure this one out. [break][break] Cleaning off his hands he turned towards him, ”You should be nicer to her.” Of course, that might not work out so well but it was worth addressing it for the time being. ”She seems like a pretty good kid.” Smiling lightly he then returned to his task, well, until Oliver pointed out the obvious dishwasher that River never used. The poor cursed hunter tilted his head away sheepishly. It seemed he had finally been caught red handed in his act of stalling the way he always did. Taking his time in thought he would reply, ”I was taking my time. Wasn’t sure if you and Maia where going to talk some more.” Not to mention he was just avoiding sex for a tad mostly because he didn’t want to chase Maia out right then. [break][break] Even though she had a “way” with words he still wanted to see what else she might say even if it was embarrassing. She seemed like an interesting kid. Chuckling, the dishes where scrapped and placed in the dishwasher as they should have been to begin with. Now that he was caught red handed he couldn’t use that trick anymore. Once finished he turned and leaned against the sink with both hands planted firmly on the counter for balance. He offered the man a single gesture to everything being finished. [break][break] Lifting one hand he signed quickly, ”I wonder if she’ll get you a #1 Dad mug.” Clearly it was a joke that amused River more then it would Oliver. [break][break][break]OOC NOTES
