The Enemy of My Enemy: Part 1 Details: A fairly odd mission offer has spread through the grapevine. Particularly because this mission was not offered by any normal mortal, but a Spirit. This Spirit has appeared outside of Elios, showing no signs of hostility but rather requesting the city send its most skilled warrior out to assist it with a task that would benefit them both: defeating another, apparently far more hostile Spirit that had done the first Spirit some injustice. The offer was so strange that the Elios government has decided to send the offer outward to anyone willing to work alongside the Spirit. However before the Spirit accepts this individual, it demands a test of strength. So far all the Spirit has revealed and what is known of this Spirit is as follows: 1) It requires someone well versed in combat, whose skill the Spirit will test in a battle against it before accepting this individual to join it in its quest. It will not slay the individual and they may yield if they wish; it is not a fight to the death but a test of the individual's prowess. However, if one truly comes unprepared the Spirit may slay them on accident. 2) The Spirit is in possession of a very strong weapon and they themselves seem very, very powerful. They aren't to be taken lightly, even in a test battle. Underestimating could lead to a person's demise. 3) The only thing the Spirit will reveal of its reason for this quest is that this other Spirit has apparently stolen something of value from them. It refuses to reveal more until it finds a suitable mortal to join it. 4) It does not care what race the mortal is, be they magi, human, or cyborg/android.
Other than issuing this need for a mortal to join them, the Spirit has done little else and shown no hostility. The Elios government has added a reward for anyone who takes the mission and gets the Spirit out of their hair.
The risk here mainly comes from fighting the Spirit. Though it is not a fight to the death and any character interested in taking this thread my forfeit should the Spirit prove too strong, those coming in too unprepared could very well still lose their lives. This Spirit is no weakling, and won't exactly pull its punches very much.
The Enemy of My Enemy: Part 2 Details: With its partner chosen, the Spirit will lead the mortal off towards the desert in search of the lair of the other Spirit it seeks to slay. it will allow the mortal some preparation, but not much before setting off. The new Spirit they face is equally as fierce as the first one, and the first Spirit will reveal these things to its chosen partner: 1) The reason it hunts this other Spirit is because they had stole the twin weapon of the one the first Spirit wields, along with many other prizes from Spirit and mortal alike over the years 2) The two Spirits are fairly equal in strength, which is saying a lot. The reason the first Spirit brought the mortal along was to tip the scale and assist in destroying the thief Spirit. 3) The first Spirit will try its best to draw the attention of the thief Spirit as it can handle that kind of power, but it has warned the mortal to still expect to be targeted from time to time.
After slaying the thief and retrieving its weapon, the Spirit does not care what the mortal does with the other treasures the thief Spirit has stolen over the years. All it is concerned with is getting revenge for the theft done to it and the slight on its honor.
The risk here mainly comes from fighting the thief Spirit, who is just as powerful as the first Spirit but it won't be holding back at all. Though the two Spirits will mainly be distracting each other, the character should be fully prepared to get attacked by the thief Spirit or need to react to the aftereffects of the attacks between the two powerful creatures. it is a very dangerous fight to go into even with the first Spirit backing the character.
