► Tell her about hunters? Now that was a little curious. Though in all her years staying within Arecia, Lelianna really had never seen any of them. A miracle, maybe. Or maybe a bit of protective nudging from the very woods they stayed in. Arecia always was directing her to go places. Maybe it had been helping her earlier on to avoid those who'd rather see her dead? If that was the case, Lelianna was even more indebted to the forest than she already was. "Ah. Well that's...that's very noble of you." Certainly the magi from haven would love that! Did Caroline know about Haven? Should Lelianna tell her?
She honestly wasn't too sure just yet.
At the mention of her flowers, Lelianna blinked and moved some strands of her hair before her so she could look. Indeed, there were a few newly blooming flowers. This time they were tiny starbursts of red and yellow. "Oh! Yeah they, ah, tend to do that if I'm excited or anything." Lelianna confessed with the hints of a blush playing about her cheeks. "I-I try not to get too excited, or too many grow. Then it really attracts bees." Still the flowers' growths only proved she was a little giddy at the idea of having another actual neighbor nearby. And so close! yet at the same time it made her a bit nervous. How would the animals react? Hopefully she could control Skjorn and the other bears. Oh and the wolves too. Goodness now there was plenty to think about!
Before Lelianna got to offer a tour of her garden, she was first and foremost worried with Caroline's health. And even as she was being reassured, some of that concern dancing within green eyes. Although she blinked a little at being thanked. The hermit had hardly done anything in her own eyes. "Oh! Um...well thank you, but I don't think I did much. In fact I think I kinda started this mess maybe..." The last bit was muttered with a temporarily averted gaze and a low tone under her breath. But the redhead soon remembered the other part of the conversation. "U-Um, but if you wanted to see the garden I could show you now! O-Or whenever really. I just figure since you're so close to it, might as well." With a little shrug she let the offer hang in the air.

Notes Let it Growwwww, let it growwwww
I AM NOT MERCIFUL I AM NOT KIND I AM NOT AFRAID TO MAKE YOU WISH THAT I WAS She frowned. Was that… did she word it incorrectly? Or was that sarcasm? It was hard to tell without knowing her a little better. She seemed earnest and kind, though. “It’s… not really noble. It’s something… well… hm. I’m not sure how to put it. I think I’d rather leave it for now, if that’s okay. Just know that I’m here in case they show up. I won’t let them hurt you.” She looked down at the bear and cracked a smile with a short laugh. “Or him. Though really, they should be worried about him, if anything.” She… laughed again, actually. It was a low chuckle and it surprised even her that it came so easily. She put her hand to her mouth to stop herself. “Sorry,” she said, lowering her hand. “It was just funny to think about a bunch of bees buzzing around your hair. Not that it’s… funny if they stung you. I just, ah… I meant it would be amusing to see bees trying to make friends with you.” Jokes were hard. She wasn’t anxious, but also wanted to make sure she was saying the right thing, with the right tone. This was all still a learning process for her. Hopefully Lelianna took it in good humor. If she had her audio processors active, she may have caught the mumbled words, but only looked at her with great curiosity. To Lelianna, it may look strange; Caroline wasn’t really active with gesturing when she spoke, and kept on just… looking at her. Then again, maybe it wouldn’t be strange to her at all. A person in the city, though, might mistake her for a low-quality android. “No, you did,” she confirmed. “If you didn’t yell, I might have shot him. And if you didn’t calm him down, I might have taken more damage. Helping make peace is… very important.” If only more people were around to stop her before, maybe she wouldn’t have… No, this wasn’t the time to dwell. There would be plenty of time alone with her thoughts later. She looked up at the sky. It was sunny enough still, so her reserves would easily make the trip. How big could a garden be, really? And Lelianna was teaching her a lot about talking to people, whether she knew it or not. “Sure, I’d be happy to see it now. I don’t know a lot about nature, though. But… you seem to be an expert.” She’d follow Lelianna wherever she led her, and didn’t bother to collect her gun. It would be there when she got back, and she didn’t want to make her any more nervous than she already was. Probably. Actually, she warmed up to her very quickly. Was Lelianna just particularly nice? Were all magi this friendly? If the latter was true… Her arms crossed over her stomach. That made everything a hundred times worse.

► Whoops did Lelianna mess up with words again? Honestly she was more surprised it had taken this long before something she'd said hadn't done well. Did that mean she was getting better? One could only hope! Anyways, Caroline didn't want to talk about it more. So Lelianna only gave her a small nod and a hopefully understanding smile. Before she looked back at Skjorn, still watching, and it grew into a smirk with her laugh. "I'll admit Skjorn has a...He ah likes greeting people in his own way." Who didn't love a friendly mauling? "Which is why I need to make sure he knows who friends are!" This was pointed directly at the bear, who only grunted.
As a chuckle filled the air Lelianna's head turned back towards Caroline. She was chuckling again! It was actually really adorable. The smile on the redhead's face grew in warmth and she joined in laughing, dismissing Caroline's apology with a wave of her hand. "Trust me, it's funny enough." Even the hermit could admit that. "I just have to be careful because sometimes they mistake an ear for a flower." Yeeeeah that one hadn't been fun. She cringed a little at the memory but otherwise her smile remained.
Humor? Humor was just fine with the redhead.
Peace? Oh yes keeping peace was very important. "Well, I'm glad I stopped him from hurting you again." Ah, there was that worry again. Coming out to shine in the magi's eyes even if Caroline said she'd be fine. What did you expect? The cyborg had been hit by a bear! Of course she'd be worried! Most people would be knocked out from something like that. Or even worse. "Are you...sure you're ok from him hitting you?" Lelianna checked one last time. The redhead was feeling just a little bit guilty for the bear's actions now that she'd seen how nice Caroline was.
Good grief what a first impression.
Whatever Caroline responded with to Lelianna's previous question, Lelianna nonetheless brightened considerably when she agreed to see the garden. "I don't know about expert but...Arecia seems to like me. Although some days I can't decide if that's a good thing or a bad thing." Shooting a look at the nearest tree, Lelianna could very well feel that gentle and aware hum at the back of her mind. The tree, on its part, just stood there innocently. Eventually Lelianna let out a sigh and, realizing she might be looking weird, cleared her throat. "A-Ah, but yeah! L-Let's head over."
With that she motioned for Skjorn to follow along if he wanted. After a grunt he simply laid down and rolled to face away from them. A frown creased Lelianna's face as she stuck her hands on her hips and huffed. "So what? You tire me out from earlier, nearly scare me to death, and now you're just taking a nap?" In response Skjron only curled up more before obviously settling. Lelianna puffed up, throwing her hands in the air with a noise of exasperation. "You're terrible you...you...big ball of fur! I should've named you Baloo!" Skjorn just laid there. "Ugh." Bears. Seeing as the grizzly wasn't going to grace the duo with his company back to the garden, Lelianna rolled her eyes and started off.
"Since lazy-bones over there isn't going to be joining us, we can just start off." With that done, she indeed set off. It wasn't too far of a walk actually to reach the edge of her garden. Once they did, the vegetation got remarkably thicker. More variant. Healthier. And , of course, more colorful. Maybe it wasn't going in full swing yet, but much of Lelianna's garden was starting to bloom and light up with color as the magi and the season worked on them. Fruit was starting to grow. Scents were wafting through from the flowers. Plants of all different shapes, sizes, and types lined the sides of the "path" the magi took the two through. The garden was dense with greenery, especially with spring coming quick.
Yet that only made it even more beautiful.
Once they got inside the garden's ground Lelianna instantly started walking easier. More confident. More relaxed. They were only by its borders at the moment but even that surrounded her in an air of familiarity and comfort. "This is the border. Ah, the vegetation here is a lot thicker than the rest of the woods so you'll know if you head inside." She admitted a little sheepishly. Was her obsession showing? Hopefully not yet. "But ah...there's a lot in here. I-If you want to see more of it, that is."

Notes I see your long post and raise you "Unexpected emotions"
I AM NOT MERCIFUL I AM NOT KIND I AM NOT AFRAID TO MAKE YOU WISH THAT I WAS “Well, it’s good to be careful,” she said in Skjorn’s defense. “He seems to know that guns are dangerous. That’s a good sign.” She smiled at Lelianna joining her laughter. Oh, good. She was starting to get the hang of talking with her. It was… actually easy. Easier than before, anyway; having her mind freed was a mess more often than not, but if it helped her make friends, it was worth it. She didn’t want to only be good for killing. It’s what she knew, and how she would protect people like Lelianna… but… she was starting to see how empty that path might have been. What’s the point of freedom if you confine yourself to one thing? Lelianna was giving her an awful lot to think about. “Yes, I’m fine,” she said. Her tone was as level as always, without any hints of impatience or exasperation. She didn’t mind repeating herself. “I’ve been hit by worse. Are you sure he’s okay? Sometimes a suplex will hurt the neck or back. I’m sorry that I didn’t have any way to be gentler; I’ve… never really wrestled a bear before.” She watched in silence as Lelianna yelled at… the forest? And then at a dejected Skjorn. She raised her brows and wore a humorous smile on her face. The way she talked to him was… endearing? Cute, maybe. Like Kelri yelling at Obsidian. As they walked, a question about Lelianna’s earlier statement came to mind. “You said… Arecia seems to like you. Do you mean… the forest? Can you tell what the forest feels? I didn’t really think that it could have… preferences. Feelings. But I’m not… the best one to ask about those, I guess.” Damn, she really DID have a lot to learn. Even the forest had a head start on feeling things! She was worse off than she thought. She followed dutifully while she answered, but once they reached the thicker vegetation, she slowed down. Not because it was tough to walk through, but because it was… Well, beautiful. And she knew that was the right word for it, too. A simple “Wow” escaped her lips at the first batch of brightly-colored flowers. Each bloom, each fruit, each brilliant color… she took her time with them. She knelt in front of them, examined them, smelled them, categorized them into favorites by the senses, and was gentle with touching the delicate petals and leaves. Her eye stayed widened and her mouth remained slightly parted. She’d… never seen anything like this. Central park was nice, but this was … well, was this what she was missing for all these years? Of course she was going to follow her further in! Her awe did not fade as they did, and she examined each flower with the thoroughness of a detective at a crime scene. Then, she remembered. She remembered her mother’s smile and laugh as she tended to the garden with… her, as a child. That’s right. A dirt-covered child who had accidentally… dumped soil all over herself. It was coming back- the garden, the smell of the dirt, the warmth of the sun. But she also remembered traipsing through foliage with Oliver, being alert for magi, viewing the world in white and grey thermal vision. She shook her head, trying to clear the clashing memories from her mind. Her hands found a brilliant purple flower and her entire body paused. “Lelianna. What’s… this flower?” She said. She should know this. It was in her memory. She remembered picking these from the garden. These. These were her favorites.

► "Oh I'm sure Skjorn's fine." Lelianna reassured the other woman. "He's gone through a lot too. Besides, he's got a pretty head. I personally can attest to that." Skjorn was fine. Probably a bit grumbly that someone had lifted him and essentially defeated him so easily, but not hurt. The forest made him pretty strong. And like Lelianna said he had a thick head. If there really was a problem though, the redhead would care for him later. Likely away from Caroline so she didn't feel guilty for it.
She'd already apologized so much!
Glancing behind her, Lelianna wasn't at all surprised by the question. At this point she was more surprised by when someone didn't ask what she meant. So she was pretty patient with the answer. Hopefully she could explain it well. "Yeah. It's...it's kind of like that, yes." Wow, maybe she wouldn't have to explain too hard. "Mostly it's the plants around me but also this...over-reaching thing? I-I just call it Arecia because I know it's the trees and everything. They, ah, sort of talk to me. B-but not with words just...feelings and sensations, sort of? I-It helps point me where it needs me if something's happening in the woods that it would want my attention for." Which could be a very wide variety of things, as the hermit had come to learn over the years. "Although sometimes it's methods of getting my attention are...different." One of her hands almost instinctively went to her behind for a moment as she kept away from a bush and glared at it.
Yeah, different methods.
Once they were in Lelianna's own garden, she was much less paranoid about being smacked. Instead she merely walked and listened to that oh so familiar hum in the back of her head. Caroline really seemed to be enjoying it so Lelianna had no trouble slowing her pace down to allow the other woman as much time as she wanted to observe all the plantlife within her garden. The clear appreciation the other woman had for all of it drew another warm smile to Lelianna's face as she glanced her way. It was nice, really, meeting someone else who could so easily show awe for nature. So Lelianna showed no hesitation about taking Caroline further into her garden where even more color and variation awaited. While the other girl observed, Lelianna went from a few different plants and extended her magic to them. Growing. Shaping. Checking. Planting. She fell into a slow sort of routine to give Caroline more time while she gently touched and aided some portions of her gardens.
The question was what drew her out of it. Blinking, Lelianna removed her hand from a mulberry tree and walked over. Once she spotted the flower in question, she answered immediately. "That's Morning Glory." Dropping to her knees beside the patch, she gently ran a finger along the petals. They were doing really well from the looks of it! It made her smile strengthen for a moment. "They sometimes get scattered around; the animals will accidentally spread seeds. Usually when they break into my bags!" In other circumstances that could be annoying, but here? One look at the beauty of the flowers and Lelianna couldn't bring herself to it. She glanced over at Caroline curiously. "Do you like them?"

Notes Let's see if she remembers that Caroline is a cyborg before she freaks out
I AM NOT MERCIFUL I AM NOT KIND I AM NOT AFRAID TO MAKE YOU WISH THAT I WAS Caroline considered Lelianna’s answer with a hum. It was not meant to be judgmental, but curious. Plants and trees talked to her. Well, sure, she knew that earth magi had a connection to plants. Was this how it worked, though? “I see,” she said. “Or… well, I don’t understand. Not completely, anyway. I’m not very certain how to communicate my own feelings, so I don’t…” She frowned. Words, Caroline. Words. “I would have a hard time understanding the plants- Arecia- I think. I don’t think it would like me very much, anyway. But, what you’re saying makes sense, I’m sure. I just, have a hard time comprehending what you mean.” She absentmindedly scratched her upper arm and averted her eyes. It was embarrassing, really. She was almost forty years old and even children made themselves clearer than she could. “It’s… almost pathetic, really, how little I understand.” At least the garden could distract her from another round of self-torture, mental style. “Morning Glory,” she repeated. Images cleared in her mind. She smiled and turned her head to Lelianna. “That’s right, it is. Thank you. I do, yes.” That put her in good spirits, which really was the first time she’d felt this happy since she’d seen the fear in her father’s eyes. It was a rough few days, after all; writing goodbye letters, arranging for copies of files to be delivered to authorities, and setting up her new life in Arecia took a lot out of her. Between that and sorting her recently freed memories… well, she hadn’t taken time to consider trying to be happy for once. She wouldn’t have even known how to be. The questions would continue to come with each plant, flower, and fruit. What’s this? What’s that? Oh, really? That’s interesting. She had energy now. Old feelings of confidence came to her once more. Curiosity took over where hesitation and uncertainty once controlled. Her interest was clear; it would be impossible to mistake her questions for simply being polite (It wouldn’t even occur to her to do something like that). She even tried eating the different fruits that grew, or at least, those that were ready. Of course, Lelianna couldn’t be watching her all the time… but she decided, in her excitement, to try a few berries from a branch before asking Lelianna what they were. Her face contorted as soon as she bit into them, and tried to force them down but ultimately decided it wasn’t worth it, and spit them back up. “These ones aren’t so good…” She said. There was a reason for that, of course. They were incredibly poisonous.

► Wow. Wow. In a weird, twisted way the redhead was impressed. That gathering of words was almost as bad as what Lelianna herself sounded like. So similar in fact that she had to refrain from giggling a little and hid the mirth in her expression as best as she could. Especially when Caroline seemed to get self-conscious from the fact she was stumbling. With a gentle smile, Lelianna (a little hesitantly) reached out to pat the girl on the arm in what she hoped was a reassuring gesture. "No no, it's hard to understand. Even for me and I'm the one who feels it all the time." That and she simply wasn't the greatest with words. So explaining wasn't exactly a skill of hers.
To the Morning Glories though!
Lelianna smiled right back. Clearly Caroline liked the flowers. Which actually gave her an idea. "If you like these, then I think...There's something I want to show you. But it'll be a surprise. One I think you'll love, or at least I hope so." Being cryptic now, was she? Lelianna must have been feeling more comfortable around this woman if she was actually acting cryptic and not stumbling the whole time. It was an improvement! Really, she was proud of herself for acting...
...Well not like a stumbling, poorly worded mess of a hermit. She knew how to talk, she swore!
Now with a specific destination in mind, Lelianna's route got far less wandering and flitting. Instead they were heading in one general direction. The redhead really did hope Caroline would like what she had in store. If her earlier reaction had been anything to go by, then it was encouraging. Along the way she happily answered any questions Caroline might have, glad to have company that seemed so open to learning and exploring the nature around them.
Although maybe too open.
At one point Lelianna looked back and noticed Caroline spit something out. She wasn't actually offended or anything by the fact Caroline was eating from the garden. Hell at some points she even offered the girl fruit or berries to try. However as her gaze dropped down to see which berries hadn't been to her liking, green eyes grew wide at the sight of bright red. "Caroline no!" Immediately Lelianna rushed to her side, worry and a bit of panic consuming the hermit. "Those were yew berries! The seeds are extremely poisonous; they can kill you!" Good gods! She was not going to lose her new friend!
Even though she'd forgotten temporarily that she was a cyborg!
"Did you swallow any!?" Lelianna asked quickly. "I can make something fast if I run back to my home that'll negate it's toxins." Her words were coming out in a rushed stammer, nearly running on top of each other in their haste.

Notes Eats poison, apologizes for it
I AM NOT MERCIFUL I AM NOT KIND I AM NOT AFRAID TO MAKE YOU WISH THAT I WAS Caroline’s eyes followed Lelianna’s hand as she touched her. Her initial reaction was to pull away, but she forced that down. She wasn’t an enemy. Well, she didn’t seem to be one, at least, and that was good enough for now. Her eyebrows raised slightly at the contact. Oh, her hand was warm, and… a little rougher than expected, but still soft. Was she trying to reassure her? In any case, she flashed a smile to indicate it was okay for her to do that. Wow, she hadn’t expected a magi to actually… be so nice to her so quickly. Or ever, really. Gods, she really was monstrous before. She pulled back a little at Lelianna’s coy offer and gave her an uncertain look. “A surprise?” She asked. She seemed confident that Caroline would like it. And she seemed nice enough; nothing about her set off her internal alarm she developed while working as an agent. And that was a good sign, since every magi set off that alarm before. Well, she figured if Lelianna wanted her dead, she’d have killed her with plants by now. Though that only made her wonder why she hesitated, if only briefly; guilt? Did she deserve to be in the company of such a nice woman? Or maybe it was her (very recent) bad experiences with unknowns. But Lelianna wasn’t, as far as she knew, a racist group of humans who wanted to mind control her into being a murderer… so she nodded. “Sure. I’m curious now.” Maybe she should have waited for Lelianna’s expertise before popping fruit into her mouth, but hindsight is 20/20. What drew her attention was Lelianna’s panicked state. She blinked as the magi flitted about like a worried mother. Her face stayed contorted into a sour grimace; gods, this taste lingered. And her senses weren’t even as good as a human or magi’s; just how the hell did people die from poison fruit? Wouldn’t the taste put them off? Oh, but there wasn’t time to dwell on that. “Oh.” She replied. “Um, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to… Leli. Lelianna. Lelianna, listen to me please. Lelianna!” She’d repeat herself until Lelianna took a breath or SOMETHING so she could get a word in. “I didn’t eat any. Um, not that it would matter, I think, since my stomach isn’t … real. I mean, organic. And it’s not even really… necessary for me to survive. It’s just kind of there so I can do human things, if that, ah, if that makes sense.” Once the taste was bearable enough for her to have her own facial expressions back, she frowned looked off to the side. “I’m sorry to worry you again. I’m… not very good at this, am I? Being around people, I mean. It’s kind of a new thing.”

► Yeah maybe Lelianna should have asked first or decided against it, but Caroline didn't seem to mind too much at the contact. Even so Lelianna didn't let it last for too long. Didn't want it to be awkward. Because apparently her offer was already doing that. Shoot, had she made Caroline nervous. If she really did seem freaked out, Lelianna would tell her. But she just thought it would be such a nice surprise...Fortunately Caroline agreed so Lelianna could breath easy. "I promise, it's a good surprise."
Or at least it would be if they got there.
It took a while before Caroline's voice got through to Lelianna to shut her up from her panic. She was already trying to think of the fastest way to run back to her cabin when she was informed Caroline didn't eat any. If that didn't calm her racing heart, then the fact the toxins wouldn't effect her anyways certainly did. Lelianna exhaled deeply, a hand clutching over her heart. for a second. "It's alright. You're alright. I'm just...Woo." It took her a second or two before the adrenaline worked it's way out of her system.
Oh yeah, she was going to need a hard nap in the sun after all this was done.
"I'm just...It usually effects others and I would hate for you to have died from berries." The day had gone by with Lelianna already thinking she'd watched a girl get decapitated (which technically she had) by a bear. Now she'd thought the girl have almost been poisoned by toxic berries. Yeah her emotions were in for a rollercoaster ride weren't they? "At least you're okay." It was the only good part about this. Gathering herself again, Lelianna took a deep breath and stood up straight once more. "Anyways...let's keep moving. I'll just...have to keep that in mind." A slightly amused, slightly emotionally tired smile had spread across her lips as she said it. With that, they continued.
At least she wouldn't have to worry too much now on what the other woman digested!
As they got closer to the destination Lelianna had in mind, she slipped into comfort again. That and a little bit of giddiness she couldn't quite hide. She loved every inch of her garden very genuinely. But this section? This section was wonderful. She only hoped Caroline would think the same. As they continued walking Lelianna eventually saw the break in the trees up ahead. A smile once more spread across her lips. Her flowers were reacting to her general mood, a few more blooming as she pointed ahead of her to Caroline. "We're here! I really hope you like it." The words were completely sincere with a mix of a hopeful tone in there as they finally stepped out of the trees.
She'd taken the other woman to the flower field section of her garden.
For the most part Lelianna's garden was a massive expanse of plantlife spread out to grow however it wanted with only the most subtle hints of there possibly being a rhyme or reason to it's design. Frankly there really wasn't; the redhead had planted the vegetation in whatever areas they had fit and seemed to grow healthily in with only the barest amount of planning. However this section was special, because it was actually devoted to one specific type: flowers. Hundreds upon hundreds of them were filling out the long expanse mainly devoid of trees but for a scant few here or there on the bumpy earth. This was definitely a spot she'd needed help from Arecia with creating. Yet for all the time and hardwork it had taken, Lelianna definitely deemed it worth every second of toil.
Color and flower of every kind was spread throughout the opening. Reds. Blues. Purples. Whites. Oranges. Even combinations. Really it was a blanket of color that didn't follow any pattern but nonetheless was beautiful. Green eyes stared out over the flowers quite happily for a few heartbeats before turning to the other woman. Hopefully she liked it. "You seemed to really like flowers so..." She shrugged, just a little sheepish and shy. She'd never really shown anyone this part of her garden before.

I AM NOT MERCIFUL I AM NOT KIND I AM NOT AFRAID TO MAKE YOU WISH THAT I WAS Caroline was silent as they continued towards the “surprise,” lost in thought more than usual. Lelianna had no way of knowing how her words affected her, and Caroline, for once, did not voice her thoughts out loud. But her panic at Caroline's well-being was... unexpected. When she confronted her father, her own family, his only concern was putting her back on the job; he was worse than unfazed at Caroline's recounting of her near-death experience- he was irritated, as if almost dying was just an inconvenience to him and she had better be prepared to make up for it. There were, in fact, very few people that actually seemed to care about her as an individual, about her. And she just left behind the handful that did. Yet here was Lelianna, a person she almost shot on sight (and, if it was before her surgery, would have without a second thought), a magi she had known for only a few hours, almost having a heart attack at the idea that Caroline might be hurt. Several times she thought about voicing these thoughts, but couldn't find words that fit. She simply followed Lelianna and watched her with a curious expression the entire time. Until they came to the “surprise,” where her eyes and mouth widened in awe. She didn't say anything for a time. She couldn't. It was the most beautiful sight she had ever laid her eye upon. She stumbled forward, dumbstruck. The scents in the air filled her head with a pleasant fog, and the rows of vibrant colors pushed away any lingering sour thoughts. The sun's warmth poured down uninterrupted on her skin. Sensory overload was the only fitting term. “Lelianna,” she said, once shock let go of its grip on her mind. “It's... incredible. I... It's the most beautiful place I've ever seen.” That was no understatement. Even if she had been able to appreciate sights like this, nothing in Felici came close, nor the Loch, nor any other part of the woods she'd seen. She didn't even know she liked flowers until today. Had... had she always? Memories came once more, though gentle and orderly instead of the constant chaos knotting her mind. Yes... her mother liked to garden. And... she did, too? No, she tried a few times... but never quite knew what to do. A “black thumb,” Nadia mocked once in good sibling humor. She remembered walking by flower shops, always slowing her steps. She remembered Nadia proudly displaying bouquets her husband got her on special occasions. She didn't realize that a few slow tears were crawling down her cheeks. It was entirely involuntary, and, well, it was probably normal, but she was too wrapped up in everything else to even notice it. Only if it was pointed out would she give a genuinely confused expression and wipe them away. Why the hell was her body so thorough when it came to simulating human functions? Odd. “This... is a very nice surprise,” she confirmed with a growing smile. Once her dumbfoundedness wore away, she resumed her curious examinations as before, slowly walking down any pathways, kneeling, smelling, and asking about various flowers. Gods, how could anything be so colorful? How much beauty had she missed in these last eight years? How much would she be able to remember? “I'm not... sure what to say. Your garden is beautiful.” She gave a genuine, heartfelt smile to the magi. “Thank you. This is... unexpected, but I like it.”

► There was only silence to meet Lelianna's words. However one look at Caroline's face and the redhead knew that words weren't really needed at the moment. Smiling, she let Carloline head out first into the field before following along. The paths here were smaller as to give the flowers more room to grow. However the hermit showed no signs of worry walking so close to them. They were a lot more resilient than normal ones, thanks to Lelianna's obsession with growing them and Arecia's help creating the field.
Caroline's compliment did bring a bit of color to the hermit's cheeks. However her tone brought a smile with it too. "Thank you." Came her simple response. It was so nice seeing someone else appreciate nature this much. Especially flowers! The redhead sent a little thanks to the gods and Arecia in general for popping the idea into her head to take Caroline here. Clearly it was the right thing to do. Though there was only a brief moment of oh shoot when she noticed the tears. Yet Caorline didn't look sad so they must have been...happy tears?
Oh well those were okay.
Only mentioning them in passing so Caroline wouldn't have tear streaks stuck on her face, the redhead was more than happy to answer any questions the other woman had. She was glad to here that her surprise, as she'd hoped, had been a good one. In reaction the flowers in her own hair had grown and turned to be just as wild in coloring as the field they currently walked through. It made a wreath around her head that she'd most likely need to trim when she got back to her own home. Currently though she was in a great mood, with the sun giving her a bit of much needed energy though it also reminded her she still wanted a nap.
The redhead kind of marveled at the smile she got for taking Caroline here. Nonetheless she returned it with a sincerely happy one. "Thank you." She said again, standing up from her crouch near a patch of pretty blue. For a moment she looked out over the field before settling back on Caroline. She...surprisingly felt comfortable with the woman. Even after everything that had happened earlier. It was incredibly hard to fake tears like that which came so unexpectedly. So Lelianna shockingly found it easy to offer: "You know...If you ever want you can come back here." Someone who appreciated flowers enough to cry? Hell yes Lelianna wouldn't mind. "I have a feeling you wouldn't destroy any of it sooo..." She trailed off, joking a little but also being seriously. She highly doubted, after that display, Caroline would do anything to damage the field.
"Really, you can come back whenever you like."

Notes Solar-powered robot: The strongest of plants
I AM NOT MERCIFUL I AM NOT KIND I AM NOT AFRAID TO MAKE YOU WISH THAT I WAS Tears? That was confusing. She wiped them away gently and regarded the moisture on her fingers as if it was an alien substance. Only recently had she learned her body could produce them, and now they seemed to flow so freely. Did she just never have reason for them before, or did the implant stop them? And why did they flow now? Well... that was just another thing on her long list of “brain shit to figure out.” She also noticed Lelianna's... hair flowers. They blossomed as readily as any other plant in this field, and were just as bright and beautiful. They even made a little wreath around her head, like a flower crown of sorts. It was very fitting for the cheerful woman. Were all magi traits so pretty? Or did she really have some unexplainable connection to 'Arecia?' After a few moments of staring, she turned her attention to the field before her, and to each flower. It was all so new, and so fascinating. They had a...calming sensation to them. The explosion of wild colors and floral scents should have been overwhelming and confused her further, but instead she found that her thoughts grew more orderly, less chaotic, and came much more gently than before. It was... peaceful. Her entire life had been so chaotic, the last few days especially. She exhaled. Here, she felt she could really rest, really have a good chance at figuring herself out. The synthetic heart in her jumped at Lelianna's offer. She turned her head from the patch of red blossoms she crouched by. “No, of course not,” she assured her. “I...” Would never harm something so beautiful? No. That wasn't true. She'd harmed so many. She was capable of doing so again. Her only skills were fighting and ending lives, not creating and nurturing them like Lelianna did. She paused and averted her eyes. “I won't harm this place,” she said. That would have to be good enough. “If you are certain I won't bother you, then thank you. I will take you up on your offer. I... wish I had something to offer in return.” She made a note to do so. It was the least she could do after such an enlightening and … frankly peaceful experience. She smiled at Lelianna. “It's a very sunny spot. I would like to recharge here. I'm... well, my systems are solar-powered, so this is a perfect place for me.”

► Truth be told Lelianna didn't notice how wildly her hair was blooming or Caroline's stare at the flowers there. She was far more preoccupied by the colors laid out before the two of them on the grown. Caroline wasn't the only one getting a hefty dose of peace simply by seeing this place. It always did Lelianna's nerves good being here, and it was a wonderful place to meditate or sun bathe when she needed to.
Which Lelianna was extremely close to doing right now to be honest.
There was an aversion to Caroline's gaze that made lelianna simultaneously curious and a tad worried again. There seemed to be...something weighing on her? Lelianna wasn't the best at reading people, but they were close enough to animals that she could get a general gist. However Lelianna really wasn't about to push the girl for questions. That wasn't her place to do that. Especially if the girl was another hermit. Everyone had their reasoning. So instead she just smiled. "You won't bother me at all. Come whenever you like. Knowing I have a neighbor is nice enough in return." Particularly one who seemed so sweet.
Hooray for not being completely alone anymore! Sort of! Maybe? Yeah she'd figure that out.
However the mention of recharge once again brought Lelianna's own creeping exhaustion to the surface. She gave something of a laugh. "Really? Funny you should mention that..." Already the magi started looking for a spot, moving off a little before turning towards Caroline again. "Cause I'm kinda the same so...yeaaaaaaah...." She had to stifle a yawn, covering her mouth with her hand. "Feel free to take a nap 'cause I think I'm gonna do the same." Her voice was a bit sleepier now as she was finally giving in to the demands of her body to take a rest. "So...um...it was great meeting you Caro. I guess I'll...catch you when I wake up? O-or, ah, some other time...Yeah..." With her drooziness starting to get to her, it felt like every bit of her previous confidence was just flooding out of her and making her embarrassingly loopy. Her cheeks started burning again. "Um....yeah." Considering she felt like she'd already made the most stellar send off to a first meeting she ever could, she turned to the flower bed she'd chosen and just...
Kind of face-planted into it really.
The plantlife reached up to help break her fall, but Lelianna was tired and just wanted to take a nap at this point. Sure meeting Caroline had been great but she'd nearly had a heart attack about three times after having to wrestle with a bear! Cut the girl a little slack. As she disappeared into the various assortment of red and purple flowers, the stalks grew around her so she wouldn't crush any of their petals. After they'd settled Lelianna had gone stock still, on her stomach, with her face turned to the side. It hadn't taken much at all for her to slip under.
The magi was out like a light.

I AM NOT MERCIFUL I AM NOT KIND I AM NOT AFRAID TO MAKE YOU WISH THAT I WAS “Knowing you have a neighbor?” She asked, more to herself than to Lelianna. She may be the first magi to ever show happiness knowing that Caroline was nearby. She felt her simulated flush happening once more. She hadn’t expected such kindness when she left the city; she certainly didn’t deserve it. Would Lelianna change her tune once she knew of her past? Another day, Caroline. Deal with it when it happens. For now… She simply smiled. “Okay. I will try to be a good one. I just hope Skjorn doesn’t mind me too much.” Goodness, Lelianna’s hair was beautiful. Why couldn’t her hair bloom flowers like that? She grasped the strands of synthetic purple hair, and let them fall away from her fingers. The color was nice, like the flowers, but it wasn’t anything like Lelianna’s. Lelianna’s yawn brought her attention back to her. Ah, right. That type of exhaustion… that was one thing she’d never truly feel again. A bittersweet realization, really. She regarded Lelianna curiously as her mind seemed to wobble from exhaustion. “Oh, of course,” she said. “I’m sure I will see you soon. Thank you for today, it was very nice to meet you, and see your garden.” Half the words probably didn’t register to her new friend. She winced a little at Lelianna’s deadfall into the ground, but maybe that was just how she did things. Caroline found a nearby patch clear enough to lie on, and did so face-up with her hands together and resting on her stomach. She took a deep breath, inhaling all of the powerful floral scents surrounding her. She closed her eye and let the sun recharge her, both chassis and mind, as her brain started making sense of the day. She thought she abandoned everything when she left. She had a single-minded focus to get back at those who took her life away. But now… Well, she still would. That would likely never go away. But now… she wondered if they did take her life away? Perhaps they only took a few years. Perhaps she could learn how to live, discovery any remnants of humanity that may have been left behind in her mind. She had to leave, there was no question. That didn’t mean it was easy. When Lelianna called her “Caro…” that was… the feeling was hard to describe. It was nice to not feel adverse to that sort of casual feeling, as she did before, but at the same time... Kelri. Gods, what was she feeling now? Doing? It hurt to hear her old nickname from someone else. Luca said it was normal to feel two emotions at once, even if they were… almost opposite. It was all very confusing. She continued to lie there, near Lelianna, and untangle her endless knot of thoughts for hours, and left only when Lelianna woke up. She wouldn’t let any hunters harm her neighbor... and her friend.
