Advancing forwards through the black market, Rynth had set up a much needed appointment with an information broker. The woman's expertise within the underworld of society seem to be well known enough to those that had dipped down deeper than the just the street vendors of the black market. The magi had acquired the information of the former company known as Mirage Entertainment. Including the details of their own money maker being the A.I. idol Jeniah Pa'tel. As she continued to walk to speak under her own breath reviewing the information and the request she was about to make. "I need to request the purchase to pop star, Jeniah Pa'tel. The rights and the Royalties will belong to you as well as any favors you deem necessary for me to pay you back for her freedom... Once the girl has obtained her freedom she will continue her profession within the music industry... This is all I ask of you..." Rynth spoke to herself trying to work away the nerves and doubts that had been lingering within her mind. The idea that anyone would allow such offer to pass seemed foolish... But she has met unreasonable people before and is hoping for the encounter to be far different than the many that have proceeded this. Upon arriving at the building she was to meet the broker in, Rynth was directed to a waiting room of sorts... it felt surprisingly normal for a black market meeting, but one must conduct themselves in some sort of manner. While waiting to be called into the room the magi repeatedly muttered her sales pitch to herself. Thoughts were racing and it wouldn't take long before she would have to make her case to the Broker. [attr="class","biggie"]  [attr="class","textie"] PLUG-IN BABY Maevia hated her office. Sure, it was a good place. And sure, it was secure, both inside and out. But it wasn’t home. It wasn’t her bunker. Every time she sat in this desk behind a wall of monitors, she was exposing herself to unnecessary danger. Androids, turrets, warding runes, and other security measures would keep her safe, but to her, nothing was safer than being completely hidden in a place that she herself ensured nobody would know of. Yet some people still wished to have face-to-face meetings. Some wished to assert their power with physical appearances. Some found remote contact unsecure (As if she would operate on anything that wasn’t completely protected). And some were simply nervous people who wished to deal with a person rather than a faceless entity. Oh, the things she did for business. A message on one of her monitors from Ebony said that her appointment for the day arrived. She looked over the information on the screens once more as a refresher. Something regarding a runaway AI popstar, which related to the fallen business she recently acquired. It didn’t come as a surprise; the profile on her client, Rynth, indicated a strong engineering background, which was already curious for a magi. But then again, she never seemed to deal with magi who weren’t peculiar in some way. She messaged Ebony back. “Weapons,” Ebony said, in a barely audible and clearly bored voice. Once any were relinquished, she looked over the client again. She had a sense if people were holding out weapons, and if she thought so of Rynth, would demand those, too. Else, she would be satisfied. “The broker will see you now.” She pressed a button to undo the maglocks on Mae’s door with a heavy click. Rynth would be greeted with a darkened room, lit with the blue glow from monitors facing the broker (which almost obscured her completely). It was a simply decorated room, with two chairs in front of her desk, a small shelf with various books and decorations on one wall, and another android standing as a sentry in the corner. Maevia’s hooded face was illuminated by the monitors, though it wasn’t a powerful light; her features were partially obscure, with a half-mask covering her face below the nose. The most prominent parts of her appearance were the glowing red cybernetic eye, and seafoam green hair which spilled out from her hood. “Ms. Lumaban,” she stated. She turned her cybernetic palm upward and motioned towards a chair. “Please have a seat. Rynth kept repeating what she would do and what she would say within her appointment, but didn't realize that the attendant was calling her to submit all personal weapons until she was asked a second time. "Oh forgive me... I was... reviewing some information." Rynth was quick to drop off her Magnum... but as soon as the attendant insisted that she relieve all of her weapons. She draws out her snub pistol placing it within the box. Giving her an irritated look... if anything that was usually her primary safety precaution. "Alright that's everything." Nodding to her so she could open the door for her. The loud clicks that were followed with the slow opening of the broker's door... Was this for dramatic effect? The room was far more darker than she had originally anticipated... almost as if it were a void within reality where no words would escape... this was probably for dramatic effect. It felt a bit humorous to be honest. Walking in with soft steps to see the person she would assume to be the broker. Her more magi features revealed snake like eyes and a few scales along her exposed neck and forearms. Whatever light that shined upon her made her animal like features seemed glow with a bit more intensity. Before she could take a seat anywhere Rynth took her time examining her surroundings, the broker, and the guard. It was very intriguing to see that all of it was custom tech. Not half bad as well. Finally taking her seat, Rynth takes a deep breath before answering the broker's question. "I'm here on regards to and on behalf of an android who would like the rights for Jeniah Pa'tel's music and image to be secured. My... friend wishes to return to her career without the bondage and restrictions that Mirage entertainment had implemented previously... I'm aware that this would be very costly and I don't have the necessary funds to acquire the company. So in return for securing those assets, my friend would wish for you to sustain ownership of the royalties for all her current and hopefully future music. As a favor to her, I would also include my services as an engineer or a magi..." She waited hesitant to follow up with anything else. As well as anxious to receive an answer from the broker as soon as possible. She kept glancing at the exposed cybernetics... it was within her nature to be curious of her cyborg components. [attr="class","biggie"] [attr="class","textie"] ECONOMICS 101 Maevia folded her hands and listened, both to Rynth’s words, and what her body language said. She heard the hesitations, the rehearsed bits, the meat of the issue; all were skills honed over many years while working with countless people. She wouldn’t make assumptions of Rynth or her motives yet, but her silent observations gave her a base on which to proceed. Some individuals needed a hard and harsh tone, and some needed coddling- playing to people’s personalities was, she found, a necessary component of her work. “Mirage Entertainment,” she echoed with a hum. “Yes, they went under not long ago, I’m sure you are aware. Unfortunate circumstances, but their fall was fortunate to many who were ensnared by their practices.” She drummed her fingers on the desk. She did own the company, under a false identity and front, and it was providing consistent backup funding to her operations. Of course, there wasn’t any way to link that back to her, so she let Rynth continue to assume Maevia did not own the company’s leftovers quite yet. The way Rynth spoke was not lost on Maevia, either. It was for personal reasons, that much was clear; she blurted her spiel and offer out immediately, and did not seem keen on financial gain. Maevia had no reason to doubt this was an honest offer (although she never trusted anyone entirely). She tapped away on her monitors and brought up information; Pa’tel’s profile, Mirage’s financial income… “To make sure I understand the terms you are offering, let me repeat them. You wish for me to secure Mirage’s leftover assets, including their rights. You wish to free Pa’tel from the contract, which is still in effect due to her being an Android, and grant the rights to you, or Ms. Pa’tel herself, to secure her freedom. In exchange, you offer me a promise of future royalties should she return to her career, and your own services. Is this correct?” If confirmed, she would busy herself at her computer once more and hum to herself in thought. “I could secure the company for myself and retain all loyalties even without your offer, you are aware; this is an investment on my part; it will take no small amount of money to obtain the rights to even a defunct company, and even with the incoming royalties, it would take time to turn a profit.” She folded her hands and turned her attention back to Rynth, peering over her monitors. “Your future royalties are not a guarantee. Tell me, then, about the services you can offer.
