"My Guiding Moonlight" With a tender, feeling touch and the flash of a spark, the incense burned and blossomed into a rosy red glow amidst a background set of overgrowth and stone. A statue of Arithelia stood strong as a source of pride for the few caretakers and faithful journeying for an inch of prayer. Roots and vines were common on the statues, roiling around an entrancing figure while the few bowed or chanted in some cases. Well, the few that resided in Miki's memory. The truth was that he was alone and the figments of his imagination were only there for his own thoughts. This place was too beautiful and grand to revel in melancholy and that was a shame at the moment since the monks at the moment seemed to also have holed up in their monastery for the time being. Doubtless though, the storm and raging tornado outside had prompted everyone to stay indoors for the time being. The winds were blazing harshly, whipping off small trees and swirling around bits of shrubbery. It would be difficult, though perhaps not impossible for other travelrs to reach the door in this part of the storm, though they better hurry since it seemed like the rain was only going to get worse. Even in this chaotic weather though, the cathedral to Arithelia was calm. The piles of stone and wood held up unceasingly against the blades of wind, much to Miki's amazement. It was bad luck about the weather, but that didn't mean that this trip was going to be a waste as the hinted-of-blue Magi lit up the bit of incense he had crafted and offered up the small bouquet of flowers and basket of fruits he had plucked from Arecia's bounty. And then he bowed down to one knee and began a chant of prayer. His lips opened and closed, eyes closed in fervor and in the silence of deepest prayer that was only broken a short time later when a noise from somewhere behind him interrupted his thoughts.

Malika had decided to take a trip to the beautiful and Magi infested place of Haven. She had never gone before and it was first trip here. After hearing Magi lived here, and that place was peaceful , she decided to visit. She spontaneously packed a bag and some food and made her way there. After remembering that in her highschool textbook that Arithelia had a chapel she decided she’d visit it as well(something that surprised her). It was worth checking out of course while she was here. [break][break] So here Malika was. She was going to worship her God as she usually did, but now it’d be a proper worship to Arithelia. It’d be a prayer the God would smile upon- or so Malika would like to think.
[break][break] It was middle of the day on a weekday and most Magi were out doing jobs. The lonesome temple was quiet because of this, but the wind carried Malika’s small body and hardly any noise came from beneath her feet as she walked through the prestigious temple.
[break][break] She stood there for a moment, from a good distance, thinking about what she should do. After deciding she’d intrude and ask if he was almost finished she began to approach Miki and planned on lightly tapping his shoulder. However, as she reached her hand forward to tap his back the older man would look back at her.
[break][break] ‘Oh this was is an awkward situation. Should’ve just waited patiently,’ Malika thought to herself as she would sweatdrop. But then again, this is Malika we are talking about.
[break][break] “Hello, I was just wondering if you were done praying? Or would you like to pray together?” Malika smiled. She was trying to play this off as casually as she could. She didn’t want to look creepy!

"My Guiding Moonlight" He shuttered at the approach of another presence. He heard the footsteps, though was surprised by the actual figure of the encroaching stranger. She was well-flexed and modestly attractive, though he was used to seeing the sort by now. If he had to guess, she was nothing out of the ordinary. Another Magi here to pray for Arithelia's grace while they waited out the time. Still, it would be nice to have some company at the moment and she didn't look dangerous. In fact, Miki chuckled inwardly while looking at her. She was definitely nervous and he saw the sweat run a little down the side of her cheek. He also didn't miss that she was keeping her distance from him. The smile she offered was a bit awkward, but he didn't mind that bit. He stood and promptly poked the girl on her forehead with one boney index finger from his cleft right hand. Reaching out with his telepathy, Miki spoke directly into her mind in a more mystic tracing of his own voice, "Feel free to stick around. No one else is here right now and I've only just begun. It'll be a while until the rain stops so you can pray as long as you wish. Just don't burn anymore incense or the musk will start to stink." Brushing a few strands of hair off the side of his face, Miki turned back to sit down by his own statue and continued lip-syncing with his well-memorized prayers while paying little mind to his new guest. After a few more verses and some modest claps, Miki unstrung the violin that he had laid aside and began to play a soothing, melancholic song. Before doing so however, he craned his neck a little backwards so he could have a good eye of the girl, "Do you mind if I play?" he asked. Upon receiving an affirmative response, he held the bow tenderly and began to play a reminiscent and rather moody violin solo. It was a bit of a dark tune to be playing for this occasion, but he felt it was also uplifting and fit well with the rain thrumming against the stone and wind outside.

Malika would notice that the figure shuttered from making her presence known, “Oh, I’m sorry!” she would exclaim softly. She gazed up the figure up and down, he was attractive, but was clearly much older than her. Not that bothered her any. [break][break] He would laugh at her, for some odd reason. But after a moment, she’d realize it was at her. It didn’t seem as that he was trying to offend her, however. More so laugh at her from the fact of her nervousness. Again, she really didn’t need to disturb him in the first place, so it was understandable about how he was. She brushed the fact that he laughed at her out of her mind. [break][break] He was clearly a Magi and must’ve been Zero. At first, she didn’t think of that as he tried to poke her forehead with his finger. She stepped back out of instinct a little shock from the moment, but his finger would make contact with her small dark forehead and he’d insert his voice into her impulsive mind. [break][break] She’d stay where she was and smile brightly now that this man had decided to accept her. He was a Zero Magi apparently and could use telepathy with skin to skin contact. [break][break] ‘Okay, no problem. I won’t burn anything. I only brought some oranges anyway,’ she thought….or well telepathically answer back to the older gentleman. [break][break] She would sit next down to Miki. She had to walk a little ways to get to the temple, anyway, and wooden sandals weren’t exactly the most comfortable things to wear on your feet. She’d take out two oranges and place them where some other offerings were. [break][break] She’d hear Miki’s prayers and religious chants in her head as he prayed to her. She’d chant along with him, some she knew, some she didn’t. [break][break] After they were done, the rain had still kept going and going. The other man would pull out his violin and ask if he could play, “Sure. I don’t mind,” Malika accepted his concert. [break][break] ‘He is good…..’ Malika thought to herself as she listened to the moody tune. It made her slightly sad, as she remembered her parents. She hoped someday she would get over that. Her face turned neutral and she’d gaze around in thought as she listened. She didn’t want to stare too much at him and make him feel uncomfortable. [break][break] After he was done, “That was very good! Is that an original piece?” she’d compliment him with a more genuine smile.

"My Guiding Moonlight" The instrument twisted and turned with him until Miki brought the piece to a moving close. He glimpsed his company as he played, though she averted his gaze and never stared for too long at a time. He smiled a bit as the sound slowly faded into nothing and Miki laid his violin back down by the altar on the dampened ground. "I appreciate you being polite, though I don't mind if you stare. It's a piece I just thought fit. I was just thinking that it would be a good offering to Arithelia since it sounded so beautiful and fitting. Strong, but also fragile and brittle. Hidden away for only so we can worship. There is a sort of romance to that and when I play my tunes, I think it brings me a little bit closer. Just a bit closer to her." He sighed and resumed kneeling before the stone statues, his hands clasped together in peace-given prayer. He took a few seconds to note some of the key features of the young girl. She seemed outwardly peaceful, if quite nervous and awkward around him. She was brown-skinned and seemingly well-endowed for a Magi who seemed quite a bit younger than even he was, albeit ages of Magi were harder to discern. She could be far younger or even a bit older than he was, though that thought was dissuaded by the anxiety he was seeing. "Howdy to you too by the way. My name is Mikaiah, but you're free to call me Miki." He inquired, nudging the young girl with his elbow while still praying. The rain was still beating loudly over their heads, dropping heavily across the stone and beating over masonry. Miki smiled kindly back at the woman, placing an affirmative hand over her shoulder and speaking into her mind with his telepathy, "I'm glad you liked my playing, but don't be nervous around me! I don't bite!"
@malika Note: Just in case, I was listening to Schindler's List while writing this so the music sounds pretty close. [font color="#76a0ef"][b]"Speech Here"[/b][/font]

So this man didn’t mind if she stared at him while he played? What a strange thing to admit. But it did make her feel a bit more comfortable in the presence of the older gentleman. [break][break] Malika noted that this man was down to earth and seemed rather humble, however. She’d think this as Miki told her he could stare and talked Arithelia. That was always a good thing. She wasn’t particularly fond of upstuck assholes. Well most sensible people weren’t at least. There were some CRAZY people out there who would just be drawn to them like flies and food. It was pretty ridiculous to be honest. [break][break] Yes, another Arithelia worshiper. She’d give him some credit there. To Malika, Arithelia was the best goddess. They always described her as being a caring person .[break][break] After he told her his name was Miki, directly after, “My name is Malika. I have no nickname,” she would giggle, “But it’s a pleasure to meet you,” she’d add in as well. She wanted to remain respectful to him. He’d touch her a few times to conduct his telepathy. She wondered to herself if that was required or really just an excuse to touch her. Well, she couldn’t tell. But it didn’t really bother her that much, so she wouldn’t ask. [break][break] “Oh I wasn’t nervous or anything,” Malika lied, but then fixed the statement, “Well…….I was nervous about bothering you at first,” she gave an awkward giggle. She was becoming more relax around this man. She wasn’t too sure why she was so, uptight about him though. He seemed like a good being. Perhaps it was because they had just met? She’d never know.

"My Guiding Moonlight" The fertile smell of incense and earthy smell of the grand temple contributed to a feeling of peace. Miki was content to languish in silence, pray, and converse like this. It was genuinely relaxing and being bothered couldn't have been farther from his intent, "Hehe, I could see that you were nervous. You made it too obvious, but that's alright. You don't have to be afraid. Besides, you seem like a person who can defend themselves if we're attacked."Miki smiled softly, as he decided to swing around one of the pillars to get the blood flowing back into his knees and arms. He spun then stopped, periodically breaking the pattern to walk over to Malika to continue talking. Prayer really did take it out of him like this and having company like this was a rarity. He enjoyed the calm silence between them, not "Malika. Sounds like a nice name. Do you mind if I call you Mali though?"Once his prayers had been said and his legs could no longer remain knelt on the stone, Miki stepped away and picked up his violin. Walking around to the opposite side of the room, the Salamander Magi momentarily studied the architecture and stroked his fingers over the rock. He felt the thin crags and roughening stone script, some of it sculpted or molded to a Magi's uncompromising perfectionism. Loftily, he floated around the room with no particular goal in mind as when he started, except to continue his reverence while speaking across the room as he walked. "It's nice when things are like this. I can usually practice my violin when nobody else is around afterwards. After prayer, we sometimes did a bit of dancing or had a small party outside. What do you usually do afterwards Malika?" He turned his head and actually looked up and down on Malika with a keen, observant gaze. She looked fit and agile, though that may have just been his impression. Other than that though, his eyes were subtle and curt fingers kept spinning around the pillar for just a bit longer before he stopped and let himself off. "You look like somebody who can dance if you don't mind me saying."
