Miki is a very impish spirit and a kind, companionable individual. He’s always comfortable, whether among others or reveling in solitude. He can be vivacious, energetic and slightly naughty, but also self-content, pensive, and conduct himself with grace and respect. Miki is deeply sensitive, receptive, and compassionate toward others and does act with a sense of calm and measured gentility around other people though also self-assured and unafraid of saying what needs to be said and asserting his own opinions. Most importantly, he is polite and capable when it comes to observing other people.

He has a fondness for big and flashy things, like tall buildings and fancy imagery like stone carvings and art. This pattern often emerges in bold, aggressive choices of style, temperament, and ambition. Most characteristic of Mikaiah is his love for, passion, and attachment to playing his treasured violin. The instrument mostly serves as his impromptu entertainment as well as stress outlet on multiple occasions and is one of Miki’s foremost talents. Despite being adept and highly talented, Miki suffuses to almost exclusively play very dark, depressing and sad-sounding pieces of music with melancholic overtures and heavy notes as release for his anxiety. As such, Miki’s playing oft reflects his current state of mind and any distress going through his head at that point in time.

His passion for the violin is also encapsulated in Miki’s ambition and he wants to be heard and acknowledged and praised for his talent by others when he plays. He wants to be known for his musical and healing abilities and respected for his personality. Miki has both an ambitious desire for praise and attention for his skills and musical talents though also a bit of nervous anxiety towards it due to his own insecurities, doubts, and fears that it would “change him”. As a strong Magi, he wishes to be friends with others of his kind and will try his best to make connections with other Magi of a common spirit as well as socialite.

That doesn’t shirk him away from the core aspects of his personality: roughhousing and raising mischief. One of Miki’s favorite occasional pastimes is to play troublemaker and wrestle with others. This doesn’t apply to just purely in social situations however. Miki enjoys physical contact and playful conflict as forms of sport, exercise, and release. He doesn’t mind lightly ruffling some feathers on occasion to lighten the mood or just to have fun and connect with other people.

For a Magi, Miki by contrast doesn’t show or often tries to avoid personal introspection when it comes to his habits and fears. He tries to adhere to a personal standard of honesty, though can also be swayed to lie. In terms of greater morality, Miki was taught to be highly amoral with little to no established concepts of what is right and wrong. His opinions and sympathies can be easily swayed, though he is undoubtedly loyal and stout at heart.

Behind his musical and social capabilities, Miki harbors several deep insecurities and inner demons that he is able to eclipse through drug usage and devout prayer to the goddesses Nevyne and Arithelia. When in need of or searching for drugs, Miki can become wild, gluttonous, and yes even sadistic in his methods in order to obtain them. Even while on the drugs, Miki can at times showcase cold, opportunistic, and calculating logic when needed for self defense or in order to protect something or someone he cares for. Understandably though, Mikaiah at least doesn’t admit he has a problem with drugs and usually will tend to gloss over his own problems or weakly apologize for his behavior while still never acknowledging the need to change it.

Mikaiah has a very rare and wraith-like distorted appearance with graceful poise and near flawless complexion as a Salamander Magi. His very lithe frame standing at 5"7 and weighing 139 lbs gives off a mysterious or maybe somewhat boyishly pensive impression on others, much owing to his beguiling facial expressions. His mostly deep blue-colored hair is often cut slightly on one side so that the larger bang overshadows his right eye.

Miki's trademark Magi characteristics are his right hand and the reptilian pupil of his right eye. Instead of having 5 digits to that specific hand, Mikaiah's hand and wrist are deformed and closer to those of a Salamander or wraith; slick and rather bony like a human but cleft with four flexibly indistinguishable fingers. His right pupil, often covered up by his hair, is more amphibious and set against a cerulean blue iris. Underneath the clothes however, Miki also has the beginnings of a salamander's tail protruding from his tailbone/coccyx.

One more reason that Miki is known as a 'wraith' is his very limber and lithe body. His limbs and torso are lacking of heavy muscle and resemble skeletal tree branches, even in his broadened shoulders. He is mildly malnourished and nutrient-deficient, causing the few specks of white hair branching out from the topside of his otherwise pristine head of blue hair.



Miki is partial towards yukatas and spring-themed outfits. For the most part though, he will adapt his outer wear to suit the season as well as the situation. Wintry months he will often don a baby blue fur coat or a sweater. His style varies with his mood on occasion, though he will most often wear colors that complement or contrast each other (or himself).

Mikaiah was born and lived in a closely-knit covenant of Magi, subsisting along with the rest of the Magi population of the Relocation Camp. He grew up never knowing his father's or mother's names or even if he ever had other siblings. Instead, the person he would come to know most dearly as his substitute father was a Fire Magi by the name of Aatos Strom. He was a gray-haired, dark-skinned man with an amorous though caring personality, acting and taking the role of a surrogate parent for the displaced and disparate Magi of the relocation camp.

For the ill-repute, the relocation was easy to handle and provided a strong sense of freedom, belonging, and community. The young and alone were forced to find shelter and comfort in their small little clans and covenants. Opposite the Aatos family were the Kraken, a family composed mainly of reptilian and other seaworthy Magi. Both covenants kept to themselves, keeping hostilities as well as friendships low key. Some members feuded violently while others kept the peace cordial yet competitive.

In the dimly lit world of the Magi Relocation camp, Aatos was allowed (and even encouraged) to practice polygamy and thus took several wives in accordance with what was an ancient Magi custom to combat the low birth rate among Magi. Both families made pitches to the other along with most others in order to strengthen their own lines with Magi of proven pedigree and strength. And so Aatos went about growing their little family, seducing the many women of the camp while the young Mikaiah stood gracefully to the sidelines. One night though, he would bring home one specific woman and set the tone for the rest of Miki's life.

Her name was Amalia and she was a violinist; the kind of human that captivated everyone including Miki with the angelic sound she could produce with her violin of the purest make. She was also kind to a fault, visiting infrequently to charm the Magi of the Relocation camp and put on a brief show. She would come by and play a soft waltz before vanishing into the bedroom with Aatos or one of the Kraken family. Amalia could mesmerize and transfix them for an hour, trapping them into a firm daylight dream of meadows while the soft but vibrant music played. To Miki at that point, he would always describe Amalia in particular in flattering childish terms; like she bottled magic inside her violin and it answered only to her touch.

At that point as well was when other Magi covenants took an interest in young Miki, particularly the Kraken, though the relationship with him would remain cool and distant while his zest towards Amalia's visits increased fervently. In no time, he was learning from her and aptly mimicking the perfect and flawless way Amalia fingered and relaxed her bowing arm on the violin or strung up the shining, precious instrument. On many days, she would show Miki how to play and as the years passed by with the family sizes increasing a little bit, Mikaiah's skill would grow considerably until he was well-known among the Magi. Then August 31st came, a day that Miki would never forget.

He had just finished playing alongside Amalia when a female Magi of the Kraken family approached him hesitantly though with a confident glide that threw him off-guard. Inside a secretly outstretched palm was the first Upper Mikaiah had ever seen. With little flattery and seduction, Mikaiah eagerly took and swallowed the drug and emerged into ecstasy. Throughout his teenage years, Miki would hopelessly come to depend on the substance to enhance his focus and to help him deal with the continuing instability of the system inside the camp. AS the addiction set in, he would aid and ferry messages to help the Kraken family in return for his dose of Uppers. At the age of 13, Mikaiah was a pretty skilled violinist and almost on par with Amalia herself. On his 14th birthday, Amalia gifted to the burgeoning Mikaiah his very own violin.

But nothing is meant to last forever. As the climate inside the Relocation camp finally hit the fan, the Aatos family fled along with the rest of the damaged refugees, making their way into the countryside and eventually the Arecia Woods before soon finding their way into Haven. The journey was not without loss and pain as the family were hunted relentlessly by the minted Hunters sent to capture the Magi. Most of the Aatos family, in the pursuit of freedom, could not escape and were subsequently exterminated while the covenants traveled the harsh roads, feverish and unable to walk further. Tearfully, the family buried her in a small place in the mead where the winds blew gently. Starved for Uppers, Mikaiah was beset by his own inner demons once they were brought into the city. He spent his days on the violin, exploring the city while only occasionally breaking free to head into the Arecia Woods for a time. Always with a stack of drugs to curb his cravings.

He stole them or took them whenever he could. The feeling was akin to an ecstasy he could barely control. When under the influence of the Uppers, Miki's powers of healing, telepathy, and empathy were sharpened and enhanced. It wasn't just his powers though, his music was also far better and his focus was laser sharp. One day, Aatos pulled him aside as he had been walking out the door and tried to talk him away from taking any more uppers. The resulting fallout went badly for Aatos. At the age of 22, the two had a falling out a with Miki subsequently leaving the family.

He continued living in the city, knowing it was the only place that Uppers weren't illegal, but as time passed his addiction too began to take its toll. He stayed far away from the Residence district, simply minding his own business and keeping to himself. Among the Magi of Haven, he became starkly known as the Phantom of Haven for the ghostly melodies that could be heard from the rooftops and in the Farmer's Market on a crisp Sunday Morning. At the age of 25, Miki continued to swear off his demons, though the battle would continue.

Healer I: A person is able to heal their own minor wounds in the blink of an eye. Minor wounds consist of shallow flesh wounds. If the wound is upon themselves, it does not take much energy. However if they are healing another, the task wears on them.

Telepathy I: Enables the individual to speak directly into a single other person's mind. One must have visual contact with the person one wishes to "speak" to.

Empathy I: Grants the user the ability to sense emotions and physical pain of one other person or animal through touching them. At this stage, the emotion or pain that you sense in another will then become your own. This is accomplished through touch.
