SO FAR FROM ALL THAT'S HOLY [attr="class","rachhover1"]WORDS664 | | [attr="class","rachhover1"]NOTEShope this is good, setting a scene isn't really my strong suit haha. |
His metallic hands were tucked away inside the warmth of his denim blue jeans. For it being the middle of spring it was surprisingly chilly out. Cyrus let out a small sigh, his breath just barely visible in the cold morning air. If he focused his eyesight on the nearby leaves he was capable of seeing the fresh dew on the surface of the tree leaves. Everything about the woods around him was beautiful, natural, crafted by the hands of the Gods so perfect. Yet there he walked, a metal man out of place with the forest around him. He was man-made, enhanced and made into a weapon better fit at handling his job as a Hunter. Even the animals that called this place home knew Cyrus was different. They kept their distant from him, eyes watching him closely as he made his way through the forest. Edging closer and closer to the haven of the Magi, closer and closer to danger. He wasn't aiming to pick a fight with those Magi though, hell he wasn't even going there on purpose. No, he had sights set somewhere else entirely.
On someone else. It wasn't like he was within this forest because it felt like a good idea. He was here because he was on the hunt. He had been tasked with hunting down an Air Magi that had fled into the woods after stirring up trouble within town. He had been given no other details on the matter, only that he was expected to find and remove them. "They meant kill." he hated it, the level of blind hatred the people of the world held for those different than them. Genocide had just ended and they were still hunting down the Magi and taking away their lives. Removing them from the world like they were a Kool-Aid stain on the carpet that just needed to be gone before the In-Laws came into town. It made his stomach turn just thinking that some within the guild were still needlessly taking the live of Magi now. Not that Cyrus could tell anyone or do anything about it without being removed from the Guild or cursed by the God Kaladis.
There was another sigh from the cyborgs lips before his feet stopped moving. His metaphorical train of thought switching tracks, as he examined the ground in front of him. Just barely noticable in front of his being were a small set of footprints . "Must be my lucky day." he chuckled and lowered himself to the ground, knees bending as he reached out a hand to touch the dirt in front of him. Even though his entire arm was metal he was still capable of feeling with it. Every single one of his nerve endings having been adjusted to feel what the robotic arm felt. "Zoom in on the dirt." a simple a command to no one but himself. Suddenly his vision was no longer focused on the entire ground but instead just the single footprint in front of him. He was capable of seeing everything about, and that was all it took for him to place everything together.
He stood him, his vision returning to normal. "Magi is a girl, small, couldn't weigh more than at least 120 or so pounds. The pressure of the footprint leads to me think I'm hunting a child, but why a child? They know I don't do these kinds of jobs..." he bit down on his bottom lip. Were they testing him? They weren't going to like the results of their test if that was the case. Either way she was headed west, and from the looks of it she was in a rush. She must know that Cyrus is following her. He needed to pick up his pace before she managed to get to safety. "Hey! Little girl, if you can hear me I don't want to hurt you, just want to talk!" he shouted loudly in the hopes she was capable of hearing him. PHARAOH LEAP. "Ah .... ahh .... ACHOO!"
The sound utterly shattered the otherwise hushed atmosphere of the forest. Any lingering woodland creatures were immediately set scurrying away. "ACHOO!" Came another, catapulting the little girl backwards into a further along bush. "... Ughh." Ari wiped her reddened nose upon a sleeve of the pink bunny hoodie she wore, looking anything but merry.
"What is this?" The humbled Goddess asked wearily as she forced herself to sit up, a colorful array of twigs and leaves nested in her hair. Arithelia felt warm and yet she couldn't stop shivering. Her nose was stuffed full of unpleasantness that her body was determined to sneeze out of her. The little girl felt achy and utterly beat up. Was this being sick? Gods didn't get sick. She wasn't supposed to be able to get sick ... Was she getting even worse?
A depressing thought to say the least. The fallen deity shook her head to tumble out those negative thoughts as she pulled herself back onto her multi colored tennis shoes. Nothing name brand. They were the cheapest pair at a large supermarket that she could find in a wonderful section called "Clearance". It was a wonderful place where all the labels were red and were chosen to display the lowest prices through out the entire store. The god didn't understand why one pair of shorts was $0.50 and another was $29.99. All Ari knew was that she was a fan of this "Clearance" concept.
With a bright smile she had purchased the items at the "register" through the assistance of a Human either termed or named "Cashier". She received a piece of paper tooooo ... remind her of what she had just paid for? Hm, she didn't think Humans had that bad of memory but had chosen to not question it.
Then shuffling off to the store's restrooms Ari changed. These clothes were much brighter. This is what Ari had concluded as she looked herself over in the mirror. Cuter she dared to say. And more importantly they were dry, no longer dampened by the rain earlier in the week. Too bad the excitement over her new purchases were short lived as that warmth continued to rise her body temperature. Sure enough, five accidental sneezes later, the store was left in a shambles. All merchandise had been thrown against the back wall. The said Miss "Cashier" had been tossed back along with a handful of other customers, all groaning in pain as they stirred from their rough experience. One man pushing an entire wall of merchandise off of himself.
"..... sorry?" A lone Arithelia at the front of the store had offered before an alarm sounded and she found herself having to run for it through the assistance of self perpetuating gusts of wind. Now here she was. In the woods. Sure, better off because of the new clothes. But the situation was annoying. How could she be sick? Why was she sick? What caused sickness? Especially in gods? Or was this just another symptom from having fallen from the Heavens? Those poor humans, and they hadn't even let her clean up her mess.
Arithelia paused. Was that a male voice in the distance? Oh great, were they chasing the "destructive terrorist magi"? That's all she needed. The tiny Goddess was about to hone in her listening so that she might understand his words however the act would be interrupted by ano-- "ACHOO!" آپ کیوں مجھے آسمان سے گر کرنے کی اجازت تھی TAGS: @cyrus

SO FAR FROM ALL THAT'S HOLY [attr="class","rachhover1"]WORDS753 | | [attr="class","rachhover1"]NOTESCyrus just wants to help the adorable little thing now. |
He stood motionless as the seconds passed, ears focused intensely for the sound of a reply. Instead he the sweet embrace of silence filled with air around him. The young hunter let out a soft sigh and rubbed a hand on the back of his neck. "Of course it wasn't going to be that easy. Just what the hell was I thinking?" Cyrus paused briefly as if waiting for someone to answer his question for him, but when no one did he answered it himself. "I was thinking she'd believe I was one of the good guys." good guys being so few in number these days he honestly didn't blame her for not trusting him. That was assuming she had heard him in the first place. Cyrus was a hopefully person though. The young man figured he'd give it a couple more seconds before he resorted to more proactive methods of finding the little Magi in question. Maybe, just maybe he'd get lucky and one of the many gods in the heavens would give him a little luck.
"ACHOO!"
The sneeze echoed throughout the forest, so loud that it managed to startle the nearby woodland creatures. It also happened to catch Cyrus's attention the moment it happened. His eyes instantly drifting towards the source just a couple of meters away from his current position. "Well I'll be damned." it seemed like he did have a little luck on his side today after all. When he got back into down he'd be sure to thank Kaladis and all the others Gods for not actually showing him a little kindness today. How exactly was he going to handle this though? He was dealing with a little girl here. A little girl who happened to be a frightened and scared Magi, and that made her dangerous. "Dangerous really? If you start thinking like that you'll end up becoming like the rest of em."he wasn't his father, and he wasn't going to just blindness murder this girl, whoever she was, just because she was a Magi. He steeled his nerves and quickly came up with a plan of 'attack'.
He made his way through the bushes on the path to his right, making no effort to hide his approach. It hadn't taken the man very long at all to reach the target location. He stepped out from the foliage and directly in front of the little girl's path. A tall and imposing cyborg towering of a small and fraile little girl. It was like little Red Riding Hood had come face to face with the wolf. At least in this version of the story the wolf wasn't a set on eating Red Riding Hood for a meal. Quite the opposite had happened when Cyrus laid eyes on the 'weather terrorist'. He felt his heart sink. He had of course been right about her being a child, but he hadn't been expecting for her to look so sickly. She was pale, her hair was a mess with twigs, leaves, and various other planet life. It looked as if she could be blown away by her own magic.
"Those fu-" he caught himself moments before the swear expected from his lips, "Fudging idiots." he couldn't go around tainting the little girls ears with choice words now could he? Cyrus bent down so that he was at least even with her the girl's height and he flashed her a smile. "Being sick sucks right? I bet it didn't help that you were running for your life from a Magi Hunter." his voice was soothing and totally betrayed the amount of anger he was currently feeling within him. Those idiots at the hunter's guild had honestly expected him to a kill a child? Where the fuck did they get off? Every fiber of his being wanted him to leave the forest and make his way to the guild headquarters so he could tear those old bastards a new anus. The only thing stopping him from doing that being the sick girl in front of him.
His robotic eyes filled with sympathy as he plopped himself onto the ground and let out a sigh. He moved a hand through golden locks before focusing on the girl once more, "You don't have to worry about that anymore. Like I said I don't want to hurt you. In fact I'd like to help you. If you'd be willing to accept it from me?" he waited almost impatiently for her to tell him no. PHARAOH LEAP. "ACHOO!" The nearest tree was soon left naked, leaves and helicopter seeds sent spiraling away. "Hnnnn," Ari whined into her sleeves as she rubbed her face. Her ears were so stuffed the little girl found herself jumping slightly at the voice now much closer. Peering over the pink hoodie sleeves Arithelia sniffed once.
Cyborg. That's what they were called. This was a Human with, with non-organic components. For sure not one of her children in the least. The iridescent eyes stared up in a sense of great fatigue. Why was she so tired? Gods didn't get tired. Such troublesome thoughts were laid to rest as the tiny Goddess took an unknowing step back as the man lowered to her level. Ari wiped her nose once more before cautiously lowering her sleeves to reveal a very ill face.
"You're a Hunter?" Arithelia asked in a quiet voice. The little girl barely had a voice anymore so it would be mere weak whisperings that would depart her lips. As delicate as the helicopter seeds that drizzled down only now due to how high into the atmosphere Ari's last sneeze had sent them.
The tiny Goddess would take another cautious step back as the Hunter plopped down to sit upon the grass. Ari watched as closely as her fatigued eyes could. He was either sincere or a sincerely talented sociopath. Hmm ... If uninterrupted the little girl would step forward and lightly smack her palm to the man's forehead and keep it there. It took up less of her energy to accomplish the feat through touch even if it were possibly more awkward.
Strong blood bond with the Goddess of Hunt. Ari shivered at sensing the genetic tie of a multi-generational loyalty. There was blood. There was death. There was a centaur child ... who was smiled at and shooed away with a kind smile. "You were merciful." Ari whispered, her eyes closed now if she were uninterrupted, utilizing the gift of sight that the Owl Deity Irilys had taught her those many centuries ago. Those of her kind that had died at his hand seemed to have died after committing an act of violence. Justice was more the goal rather than racial cleansing. Empathy shared with her that he seemed sincere even within his most inner parts. And perhaps an anger but it didn't seem to be directed at her so there was that at least. After standing there in more or less silence, eyes closed with her hand still resting against the mortal's forehead Ari would eventually look up ....
"I'm siiiiiiiiiiick." The little girl whined, allowing herself to buckle and plop down onto a pretzel-ing of her legs. "I've never been sick before. And I don't -- I don't even know what to doooo." The Goddess complained in quite the pathetically humorous display. "If I try to go into town to get help I get chased back out and I keep -- I don't even know what's going on with my nose!" The child wiped the said reddened facial feature on a lengthy sleeve again before continuing in that voice that was barely there. "I feel warm but I can't stop shivering. And my stomach hurts." Finally looking up from her lap the Goddess would sniffle, "What do I do to fix this? Because I'm too tired to heal myself and this sucks!"

SO FAR FROM ALL THAT'S HOLY [attr="class","rachhover1"]WORDS 865 | | [attr="class","rachhover1"]NOTESCyrus just wants to help the adorable little thing now. |
She kept backing away from him, and when he mentioned he was a Hunter she seemed to grow even more weary of him. It shouldn't have been that way. Hunters were meant to keep people safe and that shouldn't have applied to just humans either. It should apply to everyone, and everything. Otherwise you ended up in situations like the one Cyrus currently found himself in. Trying to help a sick little girl who was afraid him, and whose voice was so quiet she could barely get a question heard. Cyrus gave a brief nod of his head in response to her inquiry about his status as a Hunter. "Yes, but please don't let that stop you from letting me help." he was doing his best to make his voice as trusting as possible but he could only do so much in that regard. His appearance didn't exactly scream 'helpful hunter' especially with how abnormal and menacing his eyes appeared to be. Cybernetic upgrades great for dealing with violent Magi not so great when trying to comfort a sickly little girl.
A long period of silence took place between the two of them as Cyrus stared at the girl, watching to see if she was going to accept his help. It almost seemed as though she was going to run from him. Something inside of her must have decided against it however and she took a couple of careful steps towards him. He watched as she outstretched a hand, aiming to place it against his forehead. A lifetime of training to fight Magi sent his body into flight or fight mode as she drew closer. He could feel the rush of adrenaline course through his veins. It wanted him to move, roll himself away from her and aim his flame lobbing hand at her. He fought against this urge. He knew, he knew that she meant him no harm. That she was scared and was most likely testing to see if he meant what he was telling her. So he let her place her hand against his forehead and when she did he felt the familiar tingle of magic flowing into his body.
Cyrus had dealt with Zero Magi a couple of times before at least enough to notice when one of them was looking into your mind. It always felt as though a foreign entity was attempting to invade you. At least that was the case for those who were trained to notice when things like that were happening to them. He kept himself calm as he felt the little girl weave her way inside of his mind. Yet he couldn't shake the feeling that something was off about this. She was suppose to be an Air Magi right? Then why did she have access to an ability used solely by those falling under the Zero category? Had she somehow figured out how to transcend the boundaries between Magi, or was she something more? He needed to know, and not because the Hunters Guild would want to know. He needed to know for himself. This would need to wait though, she wasn't done with peering into his mind. It only last a couple more seconds but it felt like hours.
Once she removed her hand from his forehead Cyrus could help but feel like he had some grown...closer? To the little girl in front of him. She had likely seen parts of his personality that others hadn't, and that made him slightly weary. He had never come across a Magi like her before, one capable of reading a person so thoroughly with just a touch. Just who the hell was she? He had so many questions to ask her. His mind was overflowing so many thoughts that he had almost forgotten he was dealing with a child and not an adult. He smiled lightly at her when she exclaimed loudly that she was sick and it was her first time being in such a condition. The smile on his face quickly turned into light laughter as he stood up and dusted himself off. "Really this is your first time being sick? Might explain why it's hitting you so hard..." he shook his head. What kind of kid has never been sick before? This was starting to get more and more complicated as the seconds ticked by.
"You're in luck though I know something that should be able to help make you feel better in no time." he gave her another smile and then pointed behind her. "It's this lovely little thing called tea. Not only does it taste amazing but it's capability of treating sickness if you prepare it properly. I don't have any of it on me but my family has a cabin nearby." he was risking a lot bring her there, after all anyone one from his family could be there. Still, it was their best shot of getting tea outside of spending hours looking for someone within the woods. He was a nice guy but he didn't feel like dragging around a sick Magi while he did all that. "So what do you say? Feel up for a little trip?"

"Really?" Arithelia looked up with wide puppy dog eyes. This mortal was claiming he could not only assist in "making her feel better" but that he could do it in a short amount of time. What sort of sorcery was this? A Rune? A -- tea? The Goddess blinked those large iridescent eyes of hers at the premise, those long eyelashes batting in surprise. "I would be willing to -- to -- ACHOO!" The little girl managed to turn her head away from the mortal so it was not him that would be blown away but an aged log. The wind had enough strength to send it flying along with any branches or leaves in its path, causing the girl to skid a bit on her knees. "Ugh ..." Ari muttered as she wiped her nose again in a sheepish manner.
"Sorry ..." Came the hushed voice as she continued to wipe at her reddened nose a few more times before standing. If the Cyborg offered any assistance in gathering onto her feet, she would happily accept. If however no help was offered she would stand on her own, using her shaky knees to push herself up onto those multi-colored sneakers.
Ari would sniff once more before nodding, her facial expression showing her struggle, not to mention her swaying posture. "Near anything to help me feel better than, than this." Another sniffle. "I just might be a little slow ... sorry ... again." The child would offer a sincerely apologetic smile. This mortal was very kind and seemed to be very patient towards her. It was nice to see patience within a world that had become spoiled by microwaves and commercial free options.
Wither the Hunter offered or not the little girl would eventually ask herself after not that long had passed. "Actually," she would ask if the mortal did not offer first. "I don't think I weigh much right now and you seem ... able. Could you possibly give me a ... "lift"?" However if the fallen Goddess would be offered the ride she would pause a moment before shamefully nodding. "If you wouldn't mind?" Would come the embarrassed answer. "I'd ... really appreciate it."
