Personality overall
Vladimir, or as he prefers to be called Cassius, is a rather easy to figure out individual. He’s blunt, to the point and painfully honest. He doesn’t try to manipulate people and he doesn’t hide behind pretty words, although he can be a flirt. He’s got a good head on his shoulder and rarely if ever loses is temper. Having a younger sister that he helped raise since his parents were more focused on hunting made it so he easily learned patience and having had a lover that was conceited as well as fiery tempered only hammered that virtue into him. Perhaps that’s also why people find him so dependable. If it’s one thing Cassius hates its breaking a promise or having someone lose faith in him. Its why he always tries his best not to make promises he can’t keep or be as honest as he possibly can. Its why he’s as loyal as a dog.
If you’re someone he cares about or trusts, Cassius will always have your back no matter what. You could be in the wrong and he might have to lie for you but Cassius will kill himself before he turns his back on someone…of course…there’s only ever been one occurrence where in order to protect someone he’s had to turn his back on them. He learned his lesson after that.
For all his good points though, Cassius does have quite a few bad points and they’re possibly as equal in intensity as his good points. After all, Cassius is someone who exudes confidence when he walks and that generally translates to something rather predatory and dominant about him. Both of which play into his rather rough exterior and attitude. While not someone who’s violent or easily angered, he is someone who can come off as almost crude and demanding. As a physical person he doesn’t hesitate to grab or touch or handle something/someone and it can come off as roguish but more often than not just plain rough. Of course this plays into his rather destructive mannerisms seeing as he is angry or upset he’ll lash out at the closest object to keep from lashing out at the person. It often leads to property damage…especially during hunts and is probably one of the reasons why after his partner’s mysterious death he works alone.
Unfortunately, because he’s had to betray his former lover and in turn was betrayed by his late partner Cassius has become rather mistrustful of Hunters and rather cynical towards his life as one. Not that he wasn’t already but it’s just become worse, especially since Kalidas cursed him. A curse he wears proudly to this day in fact. However, his mistrust and cynicism has led to him being rather secretive about personal things and leads to him internalizing a lot, especially his pain/emotions. He doesn’t want his loved ones to be used again him, not like how his concern for Sterling was manipulated to make him bring the Stag in.

[PTab=APPEARANCE]
Locked away in permanent slumber
appearance
Cassius looks exactly as a loyal hunter should look compared to when he’d been younger. His body is a sculpture of muscle, toughened and roughed up from years of exercise as well as experience. He’s also got height on his side considering he’s a massive six feet one inch without his usual Hunter boots, with them he’s got an additional inch or two. His muscular build resembles that of a boxer just not as bulky and extending to his legs. His build tied with his rather tall stature generally gives him an intimidating edge and made people believe he’s a brute, especially with his resting bitch face on.
His skin is a soft sun kissed tan that can get noticeably more tanned whenever he spends an extended amount of time in the sun, which honestly isn’t all that often. The only thing that keeps his skin from being completely unblemished and is another sign of his job are the scars and sometimes wounds that litters his body, especially the ones on his face. Thanks to the curse Kalidas gave him whenever he does something that displeases her they ache as though they were new again and if he tries to help or is near a certain Fire Magi they ache that much more fiercely. Extended amount of exposure could even bring them to opening and bleeding once more. However, he wears each wound and scar proudly, uncaring that the curse is supposed to be a show of shame for hunters. Which is probably why more often than not he’s in some sort of pain.
The reluctant hunter for all his scars and aura of intimidation is rather handsome though. His hair is a glossy ebony that falls in unruly and sometimes spiky layers. His bangs constantly obscuring his vision or escaping from being tucked away so that he could see properly. His hair generally just brushes the nape of his neck but once in a while he’ll let it grow out to just past his shoulders and either put it into a tail or shave off the sides into a faux hawk.
Fashion
Cassius is a very simple man and likes his clothes rather simple as well. His wardrobe consists of button down shirts -usually white- with blazers and black jackets as well as black pants. There will be the rare splash of color in graphic t-shirts and hoodies with the bare minimum sweatpants. However, the majority of his closet is made up of sharp, put together clothing that people have learned to recognize him by. He’s also got an array of feathers and beads he’s come to string upon his hair, often enough spilling over his left shoulder.

biography
Vladimir Cassius Funar was the second born child of Merushka and Vladimir Silviu Funar. His brother, Soren, was four years his senior and was being groomed to take up the family business of Hunting but Cassius couldn’t want to be anything farther than that. He understood from an early age that…his parents weren’t exactly into the business as a profession to meet out justice but because of the excitement of hunting something that wasn’t human. Cassius understood from then that if there was nothing he wanted less…it was to become his parents and in lieu his brother.
Because of this, his older served to tease Cassius mercilessly. Calling him a tree hugger and animal sympathizer because he didn’t agree with his family’s views. It didn’t subside until their little sister Annah and even then it was mostly Cassius who took care of her, practically raising her until he decided to go to the Runic Academy to take up Runes. He was reluctant to do so but she was old enough to understand what she wanted by that time and he’d helped raise her to be stubborn. So with a heavy heart he left the household to do something else with his time and make something of himself that wasn’t hunter related.
Unfortunately, life has a funny way of working out and into his second year within the school he got a call from his parents…Soren had been killed trying to capture a Magi. He’d put in a temporary leave of absence in the school to be with his family during the funeral and a little after. However, he found out his sister and parents had begun arguing because they wanted her to take up the mantel of Hunter since Cassius was escaping back to school. In that moment he knew he had to make a choice…leave his sister to fend for herself against his parents and watch her bend under them…or do the one thing he hated most and become a Hunter to spare her. It wasn’t hard to pick the one that would protect his little sister and so he pulled out from the school completely, starting his training as a Hunter almost immediately.
It wasn’t hard to pick up the training, his parents had been training them for an early age but he’d slacked off during his time in school. When he entered he did the bare minimum to prove his loyalty, keeping his head down and doing what he could to keep everyone satisfied while trying not to lose himself to the single mindset the ‘hive’ -as he’d begun to call it- tended to have.
Although it wasn’t long when he’d heard about a Magi that was giving the hunter’s a hard time…one that was called Linnaeus or Sterling. He wasn’t entirely sure at first which was his actual name. In either case, the rebellious Magi peaked the reluctant Hunter’s interest and he went to investigate the Magi for himself. What started as innocent curiosity, became a way to pass the time until he’d learned to actually care about the younger male. Sterling, as he’d learned the blonde preferred being called, became his lover and he did as much as he could to get most of the heat off of the younger male. However, he was well aware many of the Hunters were getting tired of the Magi’s volatile personality.
His partner came to him one day, having seen the two together and told Cassius that he heard the Hunters say that they wanted to remove Sterling as a problem…permanently. He’d made it sound like it’d be a good thing if they brought him in themselves and allowed them to just confine him for a while instead of killing him. So Cassius did the one thing he hated doing with the thought that it’d spare Sterling…he betrayed his lover and after a small battle that landed him with a scarred face, they were able to bring in the Fire Magi. What he didn’t realize or learn until they’d already taken Sterling away somewhere was that his partner had betrayed them and they weren’t just going to confine Sterling…they were going to experiment on him.
For days he tried to find out where Sterling was, hoping that there would be some way he could save his ex from the fate they had planned for him. It wasn’t until later when he was ‘blessed’ with a Soul Bound weapon in the form of a dagger that he knew it was far too late. It wasn’t too long later that his partner was…mysteriously killed in the line of duty. The Hunters accepted it as just an everyday thing however it just so happened that the Goddess Kalidas had been keeping careful watch and knew. She’d known Cassius’ feelings for the Magi and the fact he’d actually been the one to kill his partner so she cursed him for it, hoping to shame him. However, he wore his curse proudly and she made it worse, making it so that if he ever was near ‘his’ Magi again then he’d feel even worse pain…even bleed.
Since then, Cassius has continued to do the bare minimum to keep his peers from losing faith in him all the while picking fights with his Goddess whenever she comes to show him her displeasure. He tries to avoid having to use his Soul Bound weapon unless its inquired about and only a little while ago happened across his Familiar.

[PTab=SKILLS]
Their gnashing teeth and criminal tongues conspire against the odds
Default Skills
- Heightened Sense of Smell: Can now track someone similar to a hunting dog. You can even smell the baking pie from down the street
- Runic Magic Amateur: You're a starting student for the art of Runic Magic. Runes are a kind of magic that can only be learned, you are not born with this ability. It is the writing of ancient symbols in an ancient long-since-dead language that enacts certain spells. You are able to complete Amateur level Runic Magic which can be found
- FIREARM I (STARTER): Can accomplish fundamental and basic feats with firearm weapons. Examples: Pistol, Revolver, Shot Gun, Submachine Gun, Sniper Rifle, Flame Thrower, etc
Purchased abilities
- Soul Bound: (Limit 1 per hunter; must have a living Magi/Player agree to lose a limb permanently to gain this weapon before purchasing) A Soul Bound Augmented Weapon, is crafted from a bone of a living Magi. These are rarer and more powerful, not only allowing all of the abilities of an Augmented Weapon but also allows the use of one minor spell as is listed below according to what type of Magi the bone was derived from. The biggest disadvantage of this type of weapon is that the magi can sense their own limb and thus track it down.
Fire: Allows the usage of Flame II.
Dagger
- Familiar: Some Hunters are able to bond with one particular wild animal; bird, reptile, mammal, etc. It may be any animalistic creature that is not a Spirit or Magic inspired (no griffins, pegasus, etc). These animals are an allowed reoccurring NPC.
Lion
- Night Vision: Self Explanatory. Not as clear as regular vision during the day but you won't stub your time in the middle of the night anymore. So there's that.
- Aroma Memory: (Upgrade of Heightened Sense of Smell) Can now memorize smells and categorize them mentally. Sure, you can recognize the smell of apple fritters. But now you can tell apart the smell of one person to another. For instance, you'll recognize the scent of the escaped prey from five months ago~
