An Ever-changing World
For member reference, here is a list of site changes that have already been implemented or are in the process of implementation as a result of the most recent Staff Meeting:
Cyborg
-AI has been removed as a subrace. An AI skill has been added as an android-only purchasable ability.We didn’t feel that there was enough distinction between androids and AI to warrant a separate race, and as written, AI would have had a nearly impossible time threading with others. We still wanted to keep the option available for those who wanted it, so we felt that this was the best path.
-Starter abilities have been rearranged (Important if you are playing a cyborg character!)
We moved “Standard Alloy” from a starter to an assumed default (You have to be made of SOMETHING, after all). We moved several purchasable abilities to starter abilities, both to replace Standard Alloy and to give more options to the diverse cyborg subraces.
If you picked Standard Alloy as a starter ability: Post in the transactions thread, pick a new starter, and under “Details” please put “Cyborg Starter Replacement.” Staff will update your app to replace Standard Alloy with a starter of your choice (at no cost).
-More purchasable abilities have been added
Cyborgs didn’t really have the love they deserved, so we decided to remedy that with some new options.
Hunter
-Sharpshooter skill now applies to Firearms, Throwing, and Archery, instead of just FirearmsLore and Setting
-Short descriptions have been added to each locationWe hope this will clarify some more of the lore and give members more confidence about posting new threads.
-Magi Relocation/Genocide timeline further clarified in the plot’s Short Summary
The math could get a little confusing, so we decided to clarify it.
-Lore FAQ Updated
People asked a lot of questions, so we gave a lot of answers. In this round, we addressed: the distance between Felici and Dagos, the current level of technology, foreign countries, and the relationship between the government, university, and hunter’s guild. We’ll continue to update this FAQ as necessary.
-Minimum word count reduced from 300 to 250
-Updated “Respect” rule to include cbox behavior
-Added a rule regarding patience with members and staff
Unfortunately, we’ve had some instances of people displaying impatience to both staff and other members. We added this rule to clarify that you should not do this.
Misc. Site Additions
-Plotter help guide and generic template addedWe added a small help guide to Plotters, as well as a generic template to use if you so choose. We realize that not everyone is familiar with plotters, so we hope this will help people get their feet wet!
-Money code hit with the fix-it stick
Staff can now edit gold amounts! All bonuses from Open Thread claims and Event Rolls have been credited, and money has been subtracted for transactions. All gold should be displaying the proper amounts.
Suggestion Box
-All suggestion box posts prior to the meeting were discussed and responded to. Some are still ongoing discussion.Decided, still in process of being implemented
-New LocationSoon, we will be adding a new location for a town between the two cities, where the train between them makes a stop. Stay tuned!
In the Works
-Hacking SkillHacking WILL be a skill in Inertia. We’re still working out the details- this isn’t an easy task, since Hacking is very easy to god-mod, and it involves some degree of control of someone else’s character… well you can see why we’re being careful. It’s likely that it will be a very simplistic “hard numbers” system (dice roll-based). It’s a high priority for us to get this finished and implemented.
