Personality overall
Evangeline can be a bit tricky for people to pin down. Part of that is due to the fact she refuses to say much. For the most part she's completely mute. And it is by her own choice. What that says about her, in her own mind at least, is that she values actions more than words. She CAN speak. In fact some people have had her speak to them. However, they've found it's as difficult understanding her words as her silence, as she speaks in sentences that can come off as a bit of a riddle sometimes. She finds it amusing to see peoples' reactions because some will try to force her to speak to 'make her easier to understand'. The riddles serve as a way to prove them wrong really.
She values honor and lives by it. Chivalry is not dead as long as Evangeline's heart is still beating. Her face is expressive to make up for her lack of words. She greatly dislikes anyone who is violent for no reason. There is no honor to it, and no sense. In her mind, anything she does has to be thought out to a great degree. Most of what Evangeline does is calculated to some extent. Off the cuff doesn't suit her. She can improvise if needed, but it bothers her to have to do it as she can't predict what will happen in the next couple of steps. She is very much a strategist in this way.

[PTab=APPEARANCE]
it's just like salt, poured on a wound
appearance
Evangeline's hair is dark brown and long. Sometimes she keeps it in a braid, while other times she lets it flow free. She is six feet tall even, with a lithe athletic figure. Her remaining arm is well muscled. And of course there's the other arm that is literally metal. It has a star on it, sort of her version of a tattoo. She had it painted on her bionic arm to signify light in the darkness.
Her eyes are light blue and very expressive, part of how she gets away saying so little to people. Her lips are full, and are generally serious unless she is having a good time when they curve up slightly. Her teeth are straight for the most part. All in all, her face is very expressive in general.
When she walks, her hips sway slightly in confidence. She isn't a particularly quiet walker unless she is going for stealth. Her two legs are bionic, made of a smooth chrome. She occasionally polishes them if she's feeling like looking particularly spiffy. On a regular day she can smell a bit like lilac and honey. It's a mixture of perfume she wears, and her natural scent. Her ears are both pierced and she wears a variety of colours in earrings. When she does speak, her voice is an alto one with a sort of melodic quality to it.
Fashion
When she's off the job she feels comfortable in t-shirts, crop tops, jeans, leggings, dresses and formal wear. Anything that strikes her fancy really. Hoodies are also a favourite at times. One thing you don't often see her wear is any manner of jacket. She's warm-blooded and Fokradiinian. She most often doesn't bother with a jacket as a result.
When on the job she'll either be in her pizza delivery uniform (a mustard yellow collared short sleeve button down with pizza decals and a yellow and red baseball cap) or she will wear tactical black with some kind of bulletproof vest. Most often that is accompanied by a black mask that she wears over her mouth. Most often her metal arm will be pulled free of such a vest, sometimes blackened with grease to hide it.
Sometimes she'll be bare-faced make-up wise, but other times you'll find her with lipstick, cat-eyes etc. She is versatile in her style above all.

biography
She was born Evangeline Ruby Dusan to two happy parents in Zakat, Fokradiin. Her big brother and sister Lars and Magni were pretty pleased too. They doted on their baby sister, and it resulted in them being very protective on the playground. It would've been very sweet if Lars wasn't already learning how to throw knives and Magni wasn't learning the basics of judo. You see, Evie's parents were warriors. Bao had been a mercenary born and raised in Ikigai, but she hadn't fit in. She had moved to a place with more of a warrior culture when she turned eighteen. Fokradiin was perfect for her and it was also where she met Aleksandr. After two years of dating, they were married and Lars was born a year after that. They expected strength from their children. They planned from the very beginning to raise their boys as warriors.
They hadn't planned on having any girls, but destiny had other ideas. At first they didn't make Magni or Evangeline take the lessons that their brothers were receiving. However Magni chomped at the bit about that when she was young and insisted on learning. They taught her some Judo as a result, thinking it couldn't hurt to have the girls be able to defend themselves. When Evangeline was nine years old, the sisters had only been taught self defense. What they learned was very limited, and nowhere near the knowledge that their older brother had. Magni resented that she had been born a girl in their family. Magni wanted to learn the same as Lars.
To Evangeline, it mattered little. That is, until she discovered Alek was being 'disciplined' for failure in his lessons. Alek was Evangeline's favourite brother. He was very dear to her, and seeing the marks on his back when he was only nine years old made Evangeline step up. Alek was bad at his lessons of being a warrior. Evangeline gathered the siblings who hadn't gone away to Victor's yet. That amounted to Magni and Alek. Magni had learned different self defense from Evangeline herself, and had learned extra from her school friends. She taught Evangeline what she knew. When Lars came home for a break from Victor's, he taught Evangeline some of what he knew in martial arts.
When Evangeline was twelve, she confronted her parents. This was after numerous dinners filled with her parents' disappointed scowls directed at her little brother. She offered to take Alek's place as one of their warrior children. Her parents already knew Magni was taking lessons elsewhere and planned to be one of the Dusan warriors. Evangeline did this to save Alek from the life he did not take to, but it wasn't a particularly big sacrifice for her. She was already very curious about martial arts. She was a quick learner. When she asked them, her parents were a bit taken aback but not terribly surprised. Her mother Bao told her they would spar and then the adults would decide. Bao had wanted to raise her girls to be feminine. To be what she was not, in her mind.
Evie lost the sparring soundly. However, her mother saw her potential and agreed to let her train instead of Alek. Alek hadn't been showing too much promise in it anyways and Bao had apparently been trying to think of a way to let him down gently. Something which Bao said but would never make sense to Evie. 'Letting him down gently' was not disciplining him. To Evie that seemed like a fantastic way to drive away the youngest son, but she didn't vocalize that for fear her mother would take back her decision. Instead of the martial arts, sword and gun lessons they hired a tutor for him and he started studying books extensively instead. They discovered he was pretty damn good at it too. Evangeline never did ask her mother why they hadn't thought to do that to begin with. She was always sort of afraid of the repercussions. Her mother was sort of terrifying, especially when Evie's father was backing Bao up.
Evangeline's parents sent Lars to Victor's Military Academy when he was the right age. Magni followed suit of her own accord. When she turned fourteen, Bao and Aleksandr sent her as well. She worked at being the best in her judo in the academy. Everyone knew her eyes sparkled when she worked at martial arts, and she was talented in it too. She was personable too. Her classmates quite liked being around her. One young man in particular liked being around her. Nyles Rothberg. They were assigned as sparring partners briefly to improve their skills. Nyles was good with a gun, and Evangeline excelled in martial arts. She taught him some of the martial arts she knew, and he taught her the basics of operating a gun. They became fast friends. Best friends.
Then when Evangeline was sixteen, she got a call from her younger brother Alek. According to him, his tutor had briefly mentioned an old ruin. Alek talked excitedly about it, saying that his tutor wouldn't say much about it and how he suspected there was something really cool about it. Evangeline's curiosity was piqued. And when she told Nyles about it, he was curious too. Together they agreed to go into the ruin and explore it. They snuck off without telling anyone because they were sure their teachers wouldn't let them leave the grounds of Victor's.
Turns out the ruin had some intriguing inscriptions on the walls. Evangeline took plenty of pictures and sent them to her brother along the way. Together Nyles and Evangeline were looking at something deeper in the ruin. The inscriptions seemed to indicate it was a tomb. An open tomb. Suddenly, they were hit on the back of their heads and everything went black.
When they came to, Evangeline was tied up. She could see Nyles on the other side, but some of his...skin was peeled back. Peeled back to reveal he had a cyborg body. Evangeline hadn't known that. She'd known he was a cyborg, but was only certain of the arms and legs because of their sparring. This revealed his head was too. Then she sighted what looked like a much older android. If she had to guess they were probably close to a hundred years old. The android was tinkering with Nyles. It was at that moment that Evangeline was frozen. Emotionally she wanted to help Nyles. Logically though, she didn't want that attention on her because there was no telling what would happen. And so she resigned herself to watching him pick apart Nyles.
Turns out it was futile. Eventually, the android's attention swiveled to Evangeline. It knocked her out. When she woke up, Nyles was nowhere to be seen. One of her arms and both her legs were bionic. The android had attached new limbs while she had been knocked out. That was alarming enough, but she did her best to push the thoughts of what that meant to the back of her mind. Then the android opened a metal door in the ruin to reveal Nyles. Or what had been Nyles. Half of his head was revealed bionic parts. He still wasn't tied up or anything, and when she saw his eyes flicker to life she had hope he would be able to save her.
Then her own shackles were opened. She immediately turned to try to deal with the android, but he had walked to a higher ledge. He seemed to be surveying the opening in the ruin. And then she saw Nyles walking slowly towards her.
"Destroy" was the first word she heard from her friend's mouth. It was then she realized what had happened. Nyles hadn't just been a cyborg. He had been an android with emotional simulation. And the other android had taken it away. He got the first punch in but she blocked it with her new arm. She closed her eyes briefly, hoping this was all this a dream. But she found out something else. She couldn't close one of her eyes. It was unblinking. She hadn't noticed before because of everything else that was happening. Something as simple as blinking had escaped her notice. She had to push that revelation aside, along with her feelings for Nyles. It took a while, but she managed to beat her friend. The other android nodded. When he came down to make adjustments to Nyles, Evangeline hit the android in all its joints with her new limbs. The joints were old. It took a while, but the android didn't seem to take notice of what she was doing, focused on its task. Eventually, Evangeline picked up a giant rock and smashed it into the android's head repeatedly and it stopped functioning.
When she emerged from the ruins, she discovered she had been missing for two months. She had been presumed dead because apparently that ruin had been a former weapons testing facility. Deemed too dangerous. Alek hadn't bothered to read the fine print so to speak. It was theorized that the android had been hooked up to a system that had been responsible for tinkering with weapons and testing them. Testing bionics. It was thought that they triggered something when they had entered and caused the system to wake the android back up. He resumed his previous programming.
It took some adjusting to having bionic limbs and the bionic eye, but she did it fairly quickly because she had always worked independently, and she was determined to learn. The limbs were good quality. It was thought that the android had taken Nyles limbs and replaced them with old prototypes so that it could put Nyles' new limbs on Evangeline. As for the bionic eye, the mechanics tried to adjust it so it blinked but they were unable to. She now has one unblinking bionic eye. It can be a bit unsettling for people at first.
Two months after the ordeal, she insisted on going back to Victor's Military Academy to pick it back up. She resumed her training in martial arts, this time learning Tae Kwon Do to take advantage of the strength of her new bionic legs. She kept up with Judo as well though.
Evangeline refused to speak. To anyone. The doctors ruled her as an elective mute. She learned sign language, and communicated with a pad of paper to anyone who didn't know sign language.
People at Victor's tried to get her to speak. Many methods were employed, but in the end they never heard her voice. Those near her room in the dorms knew what it sounded like though. Once in a while, she would cry out in her sleep. What they did notice was that her face and eyes were expressive enough to get her points across even without speaking. Someone decided to get her to speak by beating her up when she was seventeen. Instead, he walked away with a broken jaw. When asked what she was like to fight with for real, the thug said her eyes were dark and filled with glee. From that point on, the students in Victor's who had heard of her simply called her E. E Dusan. She was suspended for a few days because of beating up the other student, but the rumours had spread by the time she came back.
When she graduated from Victor's Military Academy at age eighteen, there were those who believed the rumours. She started using E herself sometimes, if only because it was much easier to sign one letter than the entirety of Evangeline. She took contracts as a mercenary, saving up money. Finally, she had enough money to leave Fokradiin behind. While her family was there, so were the memories of the android. She left and moved to Ethea at twenty years old, getting an apartment in the lower class side of Felici. It was all she could afford. Her mercenary contracts didn't allow her to afford much as she was spotting about getting them when she just moved there. She got a job at a pizza place as a delivery girl to make ends meet.
It's always a bonus when she stumbles across someone who thinks they're great, or if they hurt someone weaker than they are. E finds particular glee in taking down those bastards.
When she was twenty four, she met a guy who got close to her. He actually managed to get her to talk. However, he forced it. Evangeline does not like breaking her self-imposed silence. When she does, she talks in proverbs, riddles and sayings. It can be confusing, and she does it on purpose. It puzzled the man but he stayed around. He didn't force her to speak again for obvious reasons, but rents part of the apartment she stays in. They're room-mates and it works out.
She takes mercenary contracts, delivers pizzas. It's a fairly normal life, even if Evangeline is anything but normal.
She can act a bit jealous around humans, but just because normally she would be human herself. She sees them as 'normal' and despite her newfound strength she still wishes she were 'normal'. As for magi, she judges them on a case by case basis. If you're a bully, she's gonna hate you no matter what race. If you're kinder...well then other things will come into play. She is fine with cyborgs as she is one herself. However, androids are more complicated. She has to make sure there is a 'hurt no-one' clause in the coding or she doesn't like it. Sometimes people hire her to take out androids but she doesn't go looking for them. When she does have to take them out, she finishes by taking out their memory chips. So far she's only taken out two androids separate from those in the incident. She puts their memory chips in a drawer in her apartment, alongside the memory chip for Nyles that she had gone back to get out a year after graduating from Victor's Military Academy.
