It's been some time after her legs were finally replaced and properly installed into her internal systems. There was no longer any lag within her responses... but the rest of her body was not in the same functioning condition. Isabelle had quickly reminded herself of this as her hand began quivering as she lost her grip on the bag she was holding. Isabelle looks down taking time to analyze both what just happened and how her own body was still working through some of its own bugs. With her other hand she reaches down and attempts to grab the grocery bag. Strangely enough her as she attempted to grab the bag the disabled hand started to move in response. "Great, gonna have to get case to figure out whats wrong with the sensory input." She spoke aloud to herself as she grabbed the bag once more with her malfunctioning hand. The sensation that most mortals felt, embarrassment, started to fill her each time she got a glance of her forearms. Reminding her that most of her internal functions would be exposed if it weren't for the cloths she had gotten into the habit of wearing cloths despite not needing to. After all she didn't have any of the normal physical attributes humans would actively cloth. For the time being she would have to focus on whether or not she should just rest on the bench and listen to music or possible get hit by a car again... Well it's decided she's staying in the park to get picked up by Case. Looking for a table with an Umbrella as she sat down she began observing the environment and people... to see just exactly what sort of things they would do what sort of reaction they would have... Then suddenly a she heard a purr. "Uh what?" Looking down she watches a cat brushing up against her leg... reaching down to place her on the table to notice the cat was missing an eye. "Huh hey there little guy... don't suppose you're waiting for someone are you?" Isabelle attempted to look for a collar but to no avail. As kept purrsisting to pet the cat as her eyes explored the park. Maybe she could keep her... Edwin Melchiott

The end of another long and tiring day. On one hand, it had been slightly more interesting than usual since it had involved making a house call, requiring Edwin to bend his technological skill to something that was slightly more complex than usual. Most of it was just repaying a favour he owed to one of his contacts who'd asked him to replace a few parts. Not that he was really required, since really all one needed to do was read the instruction booklets, but hell, at least the guy gave him a slight pittance for his troubles. And he got to mess around with some new chips that were ahead of the market (or so their owner bragged, though Edwin had his serious doubts about that).
In any case, the only problem was getting home near the end of the working day, which forced him to try and navigate the crowds of people. Not that he expected anyone to stop him on the street and try and force a conversation, but at the same time the crowds gave him just a slight hint of claustrophobia. Still, he didn't want to stay in town any longer than he had to...
The sound of a 'meow' suddenly made him stop in his tracks for a second - which quickly caused him to be pushed out of the crowd somewhat unceremoniously. Normally that would annoy him, but as he was pushed away he noticed a cat deftly weaving past people. "At least one of us is being left alone as--" His thought was cut off as he followed the cat's path towards a young girl. He'd have probably figured to walk off at that point before she noticed him - if it weren't for the fact that he then proceeded to notice she had no arms. No, wait...as she moved to pet the cat (a part of him vaguely wondered if the cat wanted to be pet, but that was besides the point) - she did have hands, but they were mechanical in nature. "An android...?" The gears began to move in Edwin's head with fascination.
Edwin hadn't seen a great deal of androids, and most of them were the standard fare - parts (if not the entire chassis) designed by either Terra Nova Engineering or, occasionally, Axium Corporation, but in this case this particular cyborg bore none of the immediate telltale signs of parts generally mass-produced by either of those two major companies, which meant that this android had to be either specially designed by one of those groups or perhaps even made as a custom assignment. Even from it clearly missing parts at this point, the android looked like it was designed to be tough, almost certainly combat-based. Edwin couldn't help but wonder what kind of weapons if any it was equipped with - though whether or not it would have needed them seemed almost moot.
Lost in thought, somewhere between trying to figure out the android's capabilities and its creator, Edwin had completely failed to realise that now he was just staring.

The cat that rub itself against her hand seemed to be entranced by the sensation... even if her hand was lagging or inverted, Isabelle made sure to move delicately. Knowing how easily she could harm the creature if she were to apply too much pressure. She started thinking back on it and realized she hadn't actually attempted to be this careful with any other thing before. After all a weapon had no need to tact... only singular purpose to destroy the user's enemy. Everything else before that was secondary.... at least to her employers. "Such a strange little guy, coming up to me like I'm actual person... or is that why you came to me?" Speaking to the cat as she rested at the table her head resting on the table as the cat seemed even more perky once she started speaking.
Every time she ran her fingers across his neck, she was reminded that the creature before her was homeless. "Hmm... well fella, you ought to know I probably can't bring you with me. An object like me can't legally take ownership of a fuzz ball like you." She said with a smile finding every 'meow' that purrsisted in between her purrs was rather adorable. More so now as her own thoughts were beginning to fill with a few cat puns. Nevertheless she would continue to entertain the idea of becoming her owner until her eyes wandered off to a strange boy staring at the both of them. "Oh, uh does this little guy belong to you? I wasn't gonna take him away from you, if that is what you were wondering." She spoke to the boy as she reached to pick up the cat and release said cat back to the human standing in front of her.
"What's the name on this little trouble maker anyways?" She looked to the man curious to see why he was still staring at her. Maybe he was just nervous... after all an android like her being out in public wasn't quite normal. Especially with the few bits and pieces that were exposed.

Edwin wasn't quite sure how long he'd been lost in thought, trying to work out the logic code behind such unique machinery, when he suddenly realised that someone was speaking to him. "How long have...?" His thought was cut short realised a cat was speaking to him. He blinked, took a second and realised that it wasn't the cat that was talking to him - rather the android he'd been staring at the whole time holding out a cat towards him.
"What? A cat? Why would I...?" Edwin stopped mid-sentence. Had the android thought he had been staring at it? How bizarre. Maybe it needed a few bugs fixed in its programming. Still, better to play along in case somehow he ended up annoying it. "Uh...no. No, it's not my cat."
Edwin took a look at the cat, a lot closer now that he had the opportunity to. It looked rather mangy - who knew how long it had been roaming the streets? He saw the cat glare back at him from the hands of the android, seemingly sizing him up. "Where'd you find him anyway? Looks like he got in a fight with about five alley cats. Probably gave as good as he got, though."
A mangy, struggling cat. For a second it amused Edwin that they didn't seem so dissimilar, barring the fact that he had both his eyes. "I don't know what kind of name he'd have though. I'd guess he's homeless, so I doubt anyone's given him one. Wonder how long for...?" Not that it really mattered, but he couldn't help but be curious, especially considering the android's curiosity and affection for the thing. Well, if it wanted to adopt a cat so badly, it was none of Edwin's business.

Watching the strange boy stutter through his words until he finally spoke an answer to her question. There was a bit of disappointment in her expression as she heard this. Which meant for sure that this poor guy was homeless. Isabelle stood up carrying the little fella in her arms. The winter season was about to come and she wasn't sure if Case would had been willing to take her in. After all they barely made enough to support two androids and one human. " Oh that's a shame... I had hoped I could had visited the little guy if you had owned him." Standing and leaning down to pick up the poor creature in order give more comfort to it. It was far more frightening than she thought as she carried the creature. Stepping forward to properly greet the stranger as he comments on where she found the cat. " Well it's quite odd, but he actually found me... probably knew I had a few pieces missing as well..." She chuckled a bit... but once the stranger had brought up the fact that the cat had likely gotten into a fight she gave no effort to hide her worry for the creature. Isabelle became more worried as her movements and petting became more hesitant. The creature seemed far more like porcelain than she had previously perceived the creature. Despite his presence she didn't feel all that uncomfortable until she realized that he was likely staring at her... Shamefully she started tugging her clothes to hide away her more android like features. She opened her mouth to speak, but hesitated with the many thoughts that caught her off guard. The awkward silence between the two was broken by one of the cat's meows before she would speak once more. " Would... would you, be able to take care of the little guy... I uh... I really don't have the money... and I doubt my caretaker would want another person to worry about." Isabelle gave a somewhat determined expression. The expose mechanics of her body were seen through the area that clothing couldn't hide. Edwin Melchiott

There was a moment of silence. Edwin blinked. "I...what?" he stuttered. How exactly had he gone from trying to work out what this android was made out of to looking after a cat? People were weird, but this bizarre bot was starting to be among one of the strangest he'd ever met.
Most people wouldn't have even cared about the cat. How could anyone have helped it? It looked halfway to death anyway, another good fight and it'd have had it's throat torn out by someone bigger or luckier. And yet, despite not having to seemed to know anything about this cat before a few minutes ago, this cyborg was perfectly willing to seek out a stranger it'd literally just met and try to push some form of adoption onto it. Most humans wouldn't have cared for this cat that looked half-dead, and yet this...?
Edwin swept his eyes up and down beneath his glasses. If there was a similarity, both looked like they were full of holes. Was it perhaps some form of...empathy? Certainly artificial intelligences of this day and age weren't incapable of emotion, but for just a moment, Edwin could have sworn that somewhere amidst the holes and exposed circuitry, he could have sworn he caught a glimmer of something in this android he hadn't expected - a soul.
Who was this?
If this had been anyone else, he'd have turned and walked off with a dismissive taunt. But something, perhaps his mounting curiosity in this cyborg, compelled him to stay and talk, a little bit longer. Not that he'd admit it openly, of course. "Do I look like I'm some kind of charity service for lost animals? Sure, I like cats more than people but I've hardly got the cash to keep it going as well as myself." Well, maybe if he cut back on his coffee a bit but damned if he was going to admit that to someone he'd barely known. "Unless you happen to be able to pull a decent-paying job out of your pocket, I'm not taking it."
As he spoke, he cast his eyes over the partially-repaired android. While it was hiding some of the worst of it's missing pieces - enough to stop some idiot attempting to rip out of some of her more critical systems - it wasn't much before Edwin's keen eye for technology. "On a side note, have you considered increasing the buffer delay for your digits a few microseconds? Might make your hands and feet a little stiff, but it should least stop your hands twitching 'til you can get a full recalibration."

Isabelle was a bit discouraged by the stranger's refusal to take ownership of the cat. "Oh, well... maybe I can just spare some cash in between my repairs then." She hadn't quite thought about how much responsibility she as pushing on someone she just met. Still continuously petting the small fragile guy as it seemed to take a great liking to her repeated stroking. Her focus was primarily on the the rough up kitten, as the stranger seemed to continue talking about certain things such as a job and something about her internal processing systems... wait. She looked back up at him realizing he was quite likely an engineer like Case. "Oh uh well, my caretaker will be able to fix whatever is wrong with my internal software and as well as any hardware that's missing. T-thanks for your concern however... but I might have just hesitated with the amount of applied pressure I was giving Snickers." Isabelle couldn't help but name the kitten within that moment. It might have been a couple years older than an actual kitten, but snickers just seemed just as fragile. "I'm Isabelle Mayari, I actually work as a hunter. So y'know my explanation for all my missing pieces. Although I still got enough hardware to break a couple of bones if I have to.... so you can understand my caution. Not only that, but I don't really like the looks people give me when they see my exposed systems. Reminds me a bit too much of the junkers in Dagos." Expressing her own distaste for such an idea as she shivered. "As for why I'm not quite one hundred percent yet, well some of my pay is being deducted after.... well I'm sure you saw this in the news, but I had collapse an entire building on top of the 'thing' I was fighting. Pretty sure I was dead for a moment too. Like complete systems wiped body crushed and no conceivable means to be reactivated or restored... luckily." She knocks on her head a bit to emphasize the little miracle of her continued existence. "My head was apparently just hard enough to keep a majority of my operating system safe despite being under an entire building...." Her voice was some what cold... normally she would hide away such insecurities with some sort of sadism while on the job or general energy and humor while off of the job. It was obvious just how shaken she was from this, but she tried to play it off as being normal or an eternal glitch in her software. "Were you interested in looking at my hardware." Isabelle seemed to connect some dots from earlier as for why he might have been staring. "I'm alright with it so long as you don't try to rip out any of my systems... Granted if someone were to I could easily just break an arm or two to make them think otherwise... uh sorry if that sounds threatening... but y'know how expensive combat models can be and well... I like all my parts staying in me." Isabelle would set down snickers on the table and move to remove her shirt to expose some of her hardware for him to analyze. Most of which was a mix and match of parts that seemed to be forming around an older android template. Quite likely dating several decades back. Edwin Melchiott

"What is it about me that makes people wanna tell me their entire damn life story...?" Edwin wondered to himself. Not that he should really have been surprised. Somehow the less interested he tried to appear, the more people told him, as if he they hoped it would change their mind. Edwin would have been sipping his coffee if he'd had any, and quite frankly he was starting to feel a tell-tale sluggishness that correlated to a crash. "Damn, I need more coffee for this."If the android noticed however, it didn't seem to care. It did look disappointed, but Edwin was nothing if not blunt. It didn't seem to think too much of Edwin's suggestion - either it couldn't or wouldn't self-modify it's own code, at least to such a degree. It was a bit of a surprise, but apparently that was because she seemed to have quite a high opinion of this caretaker, whoever they were. "Intriguing...another coder, perhaps? More likely to be a specialist in robotics if they're keeping this cyborg together."
Things were fine until she mentioned who she was - Isabelle Mayari he'd never heard of, but a hunter? "Once again, life decides to kick me in the backside. Does she know I work with the black market? Well, probably not, or she'd have never asked me to look after that cat. Probably would have thought I'll sell its liver or something idiotic." In any case, Isabelle decided to keep talking to him, so for the time being things seemed safe. Though even he had to double-take when she almost nonchalantly being crushed by a building. "Uh...what? I don't watch the news that much, so I had no idea about anything like that. Besides, my life's depressing enough as is without needing to worry about everyone else's problems. But that kind of durability..." Even considering their increased strength, there were few cyborgs that could have survived that kind of damage, even only a part of them. Edwin's curiosity to figure out what exactly in the hell this android was made of grew ever higher - but by this point, even the android had finally clued in to what exactly Edwin was really so curious about. As she began taking off her shirt, Edwin was caught aback. "Wait, I--" he started, before he was faced with a variety of technology. The sight of it immediately made him forget the awkward situation earlier, as he looked through his spectacles at what was consisted of her technology. "Incredible...I knew your chassis couldn't possibly be the typical mass-market, but none of this is the typical stuff they sell in markets. I can't even tell how old some of this tech is...you'd think that'd be a downside, but if you can survive a building falling on top of you...they really did make things hard back in the old days." Edwin resisted the urge to take out his notebook and write notes. With pieces obviously missing, there was no way he'd be able to get enough data for a full analysis of Isabelle's chassis (in fact that would have been nigh-on impossible short of taking her apart, and for all his lack of social graces even Edwin wouldn't have gone that far (ignoring what she'd have done to him first)). Still, Edwin appreciated good tech when he saw it. "For all the old tech, your chassis is nothing short of a masterwork." Edwin nodded, stepping back and taking off his glasses. "And any person who's somehow bothered by it can throw themselves into the sea."-- Tags: Umbrage Notes: 596 words. Be proud of gaining Edwin Melchiott's Seal of Approval! Whatever that means.

Isabelle had been caught a bit off guard by his rather lack of information. A missing building in the city of felici would had nearly reached everyone's ears. However his ignorance of the circumstances that have brought her here wasn't quite relevant anymore. As she proceeded to remove her shirt in order to reveal her hardware. Despite her experiences with near death situations and the several few remarks that she recalled about being a toy. It took the fascination of this man to make her blush. As he seemed almost entranced by something she saw as just pieces of herself. Isabelle couldn't help but chuckle nervously as he complimented at least some parts of her. "Well, I'm not much knowledgeable on today's tech, but I do know that I'm at least a several decades old. Case, my caretaker has been going through some old digital files that seem to date back to the beginning that whole magi camps thing." Isabelle wasn't quite sure how to put what she knew into words. "My first memories were of a digital space, being taught the basics of combat. However it seemed that the highest priority within my teachings were of philosophy and ethics.... I'm not quite sure what my paren- creators intended for me, but I can say for sure that I'm no longer a unique model. My sister a former 'servant' model was reconstructed based off of my design... As for why it's well a long story as to how that happened." She scratched the back of her head knowing full well that she had little choice but to destroy Alison's body in the arena. Once Edwin seemed to make his final comment she couldn't help but wish she were human or at least had advanced synthskin. Embarrassment was a new feeling for her, but she was certain she wasn't doing too well of a job of hiding this fact. "I uh... thank you heh... no one has actually said that about me besides Case... I uh..." She tried to look away to see a familiar car, her family had arrived. She was quick to throw her shirt back on and reach into her pocket for an old business card that belong to Case. Pushing the card into Edwin's hands before she would leave him alone. "My family is here, I should be going... if you wanna talk again well you can call my Caretaker. Both him and my sister have been insisting that I make a friend or two." With that she waves goodbye bringing the cat along with her. Edwin Melchiott
