Days continue on and on with the surroundings only seemingly growing worse and with the worsening tensions, Rynth, against her better judgement decided to go out for a drink with her employees. Something she started regretting once she realized just how silent she continued to remain within many of the drunk conversations. Despite being a bit buzzed herself, her demeanor remained the same as a sensation of lucidity washed over her. Every word spoken, every topic discussed, all of the conversations her subordinates made had entertained her through the night. The images and faces of friends and co-workers shift in front of her eyes.... to a similar scene but with different people.
The vision of happy people sharing their woes and worries in a moment of happiness bled into the situation she was experiencing with those around her. She's quick to rub her eyes brushing away whatever crust may have gathered under her eyes in an attempt to clear her vision. Then with one more sip of her drink everything went dark for just a moment before her vision finally truly returned as she realized she had fallen asleep at the Tavern. Peering up she could see a few of the workers playing poker with the few remaining guests as well as a some of her co-workers having knocked out themselves in their own places. "Oh hey there... Gotta say you all know how to party." The voice bar keeper caught Rynth's attention as she stood up conflicted with feeling rested and tired. Stepping out from her table she stretches to the best of her ability every muscle in her body making small pops as she flexed and stretched her body. "Well thanks for keeping an eye on us... can't say I slept that well in a while." The bartender chuckles as he slides her a bottle of wine. "A gift from one of your boys... best keep it for the next time you and your pals visit. I'll be keeping a watchful eye on the rest, just be sure you get yourself home safely lad." Mistaken for a man again... but it didn't matter. In all honesty she had no care for the use of pronouns it was a trivial matter at best to be upset over one anyways. "If they don't wake up in the next two hours just tell them they have work off." The bartender acknowledges her words as she left the building to head straight to her apartment.
As she continued to walk it seemed that it was just barely past midnight... The streets often shifted in tone due to the late night business Dagos was often known for... but as she round towards the neighborhood. Something felt off... the strange feeling was following her from the slums but now it was just stronger than before. When she turned a corner she was pushed into a wall by a tall red eyed man with horns protruding form his head, a magi. He made sure keep her pinned there. "Hold it there, Punk... We're gonna need to have a friendly conversation." As he said this he held a knife to her neck... She did as instructed and followed him reluctantly. Rynth had realized after some walking that her illusion was still up... but within the moment decided to remain seen as a human. For now she wanted to see how they would behave...
Once they walked to the border of most of suburbs and the slums the magi had finally released her throwing her into an alley. Falling to her knees she scrapes her palms along the pavement... small amounts of blood was released from the surface level scratches. As she stood up a few more magi as well as some humans sympathizers started to gather and circle her. Without hesitation she speaks. "So what do you want from me..." Rynth realized how severely unprepared she was for this. Her pistol didn't hold enough rounds to take all of these people down... and the weapon may incite them to act even more violently. The one that brought her spoke with a low growl akin to a desperate animal. "We want to know what you did with that abducted magi!" There was a strong amount of anger behind his voice... then she realized what they were talking about... it was about the prosthetics her shop offered magi. A few of her old regulars had stopped visiting after a while with no real word. As it was not her place to investigate the private lives of her clients... it was only natural she hadn't realized they had gone missing. "What makes you think I had anything to do with this..." She already knew the answer to that and hearing it reiterated from the mouth of one of the angry people only confirmed her belief. "YOU'RE CYBORG MECHANIC! What else is there to know about?! We've all heard the stories of magi being experimented on..." Guilt by association... they were angry and looking for a target for that anger... if she were to reveal nature as a magi... they might consider her a traitor and act more violently. It only takes one of them to incite the violence. "I had nothing to do with those corporations... and I never offer out my clients information to any-" And just like that all it took was one of them to throw a punch and the rest followed suit. Kicking and punching Rynth while she was down. She kept her neck braced and hid her face as best as possible as she waited for this to be over.
