Walks.
Walks were something Sophia did on a regular basis atleast four times a week. She chose a day and had set times to take her lovely dog Nico for a walk. From monday through thursday, Sophia would take the time out of her day at 3 P.M just to take her dog Nico for a walk. The dog loved it, always knowing the day and when they would go and even going far as to of retrieving her leash for Sophia the days they took their walk.
This particular day had been going quite well. The weather was cleared up, the sun shining with barely any clouds in the afternoon sky. It was beautiful and Nico knew it was one of her days to walk. Sophia got up at 2:50 P.M and began to get ready. Her hair automatically went up and the first thing she threw on was a crimson t-shirt. Next were a pair of beige pants and next were a pair of black combat boots. Checking the time it was already 2:57 and she heard the jingling of Nico's collar coming from the hallway. At first it was faint but as the husky got closer the noise got louder. Finally, reaching her bedroom, the dog excitedly bounced on in and went wrapping itself all around Sophia. As she got the leash, she latched it onto the collar and was well on their way off to the park.
Sophia and Nico took an entire tour around the shopping districts frequentally to the point Sophia had memorized every section of it. So now today was a walk through Central Park. A place she knew that bloomed with beauty and a variety of people roaming. Here she knew she fit in. Other than the fact she was a Hunter and at all times had her dual Beretta 87 Targets. She got some stares for having the guns but it never bothered the woman. Instead, it kept people from wanting to talk to her and that was just what she enjoyed. So as she walked through Central Park, passing up parks and small ponds, the people around her avoided her as soon as they spotted the guns.
Nico was bouncing down one of the paths excitedly, nose to the ground immediately as he sniffed about and would stop here and there to just stare. Sophia didn't bother, not seeming to interupt the canine but instead letting him take his time. She didn't have anything else to do. Yet, as Sophia was walking along the trail, she didn't realize the individual that was making their way over to her.

[googlefont="Marvel|Bubbler One"][nospaces] A Hurricane on the Rooftops Cute dogs. Didn't everyone have a radar to find cute dogs in the immediate vicinity. Dee thought she probably did. She saw the husky and bounced over rather eagerly with a big smile on her face. [break][break] "You have a cute dog." She looked at the person who was presumably the owner, nodding to give emphasis to what she had just said. Then she noticed that the person in question was packing and one of her eyebrows raised as she straightened up from the crouch she'd been in to look at the dog. She hadn't petted him because people were picky about who touched their dogs. She put her hands on her back to stretch, straightening herself out to her five foot eleven. Shemoved closer, offering a hand to shake. [break][break] "Packin' heat huh?" They were nice guns. Dehlia preferred her bow and arrow and her sword personally, but she could respect people with guns as well. She was packing both her weapons with her, her sword on her belt in its sheath, and the bow and quiver of arrows on her back, strapped on over her chest with a leather belt. And then, being closer now, and the rather stupid person she could be, Dehlia said something that really she should've known better than to say. [break][break] "Wow I'm a lot taller than you huh." She didn't even register that this was the second time she'd mentioned someone's height around a girl who was short. You'd think that being paralyzed the last time would've taught her not to, but this was Dehlia. She was master of inserting her foot into her own mouth apparently.

At first, she didn’t really take notice. Just another person walking, right?
WRONG.
The girl just came bouncing over rather eagerly to see the dog. A huge smile on her face and the first thing she said? Cute dog. Damn right he’s cute, what the F***. That was her exact thoughts as she stared at the woman. She gave nothing but a blank stare to the individual who just nodded in emphasis to what she said and took notice of her weapons. A raised eyebrow so Sophia imitated her facial expression. A hand out. What was she trying to do? Make a good impression?
Sophia let her own hand come out and took grip of the woman’s lightly, giving it a nice shake before releasing her hand. “Always.” She replied as she noted the belt in its sheath and the bow on her back. She packed her own weapons, keeping them with her. Good idea considering how dangerous the world had become. Yet, as Sophia stood there taking in the woman’s looks and noting the pretty eyes, the woman chose to say something completely and utterly stupid.
Her body tensed up quickly when the woman commented on her height. She bit down on her teeth, grinding them roughly as her free hand immediately went to her holster and yanked out one of her guns. She pointed it to the girl’s chest with knitted brows and a frown that obviously revealed she was either pissed off or really really mad.
“Don’t comment on my fucking height. What the hell is wrong with you?" Sophia demanded, showing a wild expression on her face. Her dog at this point had its ears pinned back and was looking back and forth from her owner to the individual as if he didn’t even know what the hell to do.

[googlefont="Marvel|Bubbler One"][nospaces] A Hurricane on the Rooftops She'd fucked up. Again. Dehlia was sure of that now. They'd gone from a friendly handshake to her having a gun pointed at her. Dehlia arched a fine eyebrow at the girl in front of her. [break][break] "Look, didn't anyone ever tell you not to point guns at people indiscriminately. I know there are hunters who do that but that doesn't mean it can be excused. It's just too shitty. Like full-on impolite. There's such a thing as etiquette. Damn." She shook her head, moving around the way the gun was pointed so that it was pointing past her instead of at her. [break][break] "I guess that was impolite of me too, but I didn't really mean it as pointing out your height. Something IS wrong with me, but not that. It's just...unless they're a guy generally I'm taller than people. I'm five foot eleven it comes with the territory. So it's not so much commenting on your height, than commenting on my own again. Not that that makes it any better I know I'm shitty at social interactions." She shrugged, drawing her bow and nocking an arrow, keeping it in line with her waist. [break][break] "If you're the type to keep a weapon out, then fuck it. So am I." Dehlia didn't plan on actually doing anything with it. But she HAD just been threatened. She didn't really feel that threatened, but taking out one of her own weapons was a totally logical reaction really. So would have been drawing a rune actually. [break][break] "Besides, you're confusing your pretty pup. Have a heart." She smiled, her violet eyes shining with humour.

The hunter expected fear, for the red-head to say sorry but instead she was met with the woman just blabbering on. Her expression dropped as she stared at the female before her. Hunters that do that? Can’t be an excuse? Sophia wasn’t going to use being a hunter as an excuse. The girl had commented on her height. Something that was extremely sensitive to the girl and her reaction was to pull out a gun from anger. She moved so the gun was pointing past her and Sophia threw her hands up dramatically.
She just kept on talking. Sophia eyed the female as her arms lowered to position themselves at her side as her dog sat down and kept looking between the two females. Tongue out as he sat there, eyes bright with wonder. His pure white fur glistened in the sun but no one was even noticing him. “You don’t go around commenting on height, it’s disrespectful,” Sophia began, stopping the woman as she stated she was not very skilled with social interactions. “Obviously you are not skilled but that still does not give you the right. I know I’m… Different but you don’t need to openly state it.” Sophia spewed, showing that she was still quite upset with the woman.
Sophia didn’t even really acknowledge the fact the woman had brought her bow and arrow to align with her waist until she said something. “Fuck off. I wasn’t going to shoot you. I was hoping for a god damn sorry, you ignorant child.” She commented as she slid her gun back into her holster. She threw her hands back up, cheeks and nose growing red from anger. "Do you think I'm that stupid? To attempt to shoot you in a public area?"
Her nose curled up as she released a slight huff from her throat. She saw the humor dancing in this woman's eyes and she was half tempted to just hit her. Punch her straight in the stomach and keep doing it. She'd punch her in the head but... Sophia had to look up just a bit so she could even look at this woman's face. This just pissed her off even more though, the fact the woman said something about her height and now the hunter couldn't get it off her mind.
"I do have a heart. Only for my dog though."
She went to bend down to pet the dog but suddenly it turned, lifting it's head to Dehlia. The dog began to sniff wildly all around her feet and shoes, then up to the bow and arrow then to her pockets. He was feverish for attention, tongue out and tail wagging as he pushed his head against the woman's leg as Sophia just stood there, half way to the ground with a dead expression.
Her dog just fudging (Because we all know Sophia wants to keep saying the .... The naughty word) chose some random woman over HER.

[googlefont="Marvel|Bubbler One"][nospaces] A Hurricane on the Rooftops Commenting on peoples' heights was disrespectful apparently. She arched an eyebrow.
"You say it's disrespectful to comment on someone's height, but I get plenty of people making jokes asking me how the weather is up here. I laugh, or make a joke myself. I don't get uptight like I have the biggest stick up where the sun doesn't shine." And then the bit about not openly stating it. [break][break] "So what you're saying is that I should ignore the fact that you come up to my shoulder and just push through it when I have absolutely no clue what you like? I have no idea whether you'll hate the height joke, and I have no idea what you DO like to be able to bring it up in conversation." Conversation was hard. Dee did the best she could a lot of the time. Sometimes she screwed up though. In her mind, it happened. She always seemed to be able to deal with the consequences so it never seemed like a big deal. But apparently in this girl's eyes, it WAS a big deal. Go figure. Then the girl became super upset at her bringing her bow out and Dehlia just looked at her confused. [break][break] "You brought your gun out. How was I supposed to know you were hoping for a sorry? As far as I know, you were threatening me. Being in a public park means NOTHING. There are psychos throughout this entire city. Entire country. World, whatever. And I'm just supposed to blindly trust that you happen not to be one of them?" She shook her head vehemently. [break][break] "Fuck THAT. I'm not taking chances. Sorry for commenting on your height if it means that much to you. But I stand by my earlier points." She heard the bit about only having a heart for her dog, and then the dog came over and pushed himself into Dehlia's legs. She crouched down with a big grin on her face, scratching the puppydog behind his ears. She hadn't known whether she was allowed to pet the dog, but if the dog was giving the okay she was going to take that as a yes. She scratched the dog's chin along with the ears with a giant smile on her face. [break][break] "What a good dog you are, aren'tcha? Such a beautiful boy."

oh lord won't you show me am i the sinner or the saint oh lord won't you please tell me was all my suffering in vain
Sophia wasn’t even prepared to listen to this woman’s words. Honestly, she knew already it would be a bunch of rambling on and she was not prepared to hear it. Her eyes grew lazy and dull as she stared at her, going on about how she had people making jokes about height because of how tall she was. Well, yes, there were people like that but unfortunately, height was a very sensitive topic for Sophia. She knew why, because all her life people liked picking on her for being too short to reach or do certain things and it actually hurt her feelings. But would she admit this to a complete stranger? Hell no. With a roll of her eyes, she nodded as if to agree to get the lady to shut up.
She didn’t even want to respond. Instead, she just let her continue on. Of course the woman had a point, they had just met. She didn’t know if she’d get upset or not over the fact she commented on her height but she wasn’t going to admit she was right. Also though, she shouldn’t just open her mouth and comment on someone’s height after just meeting them. She didn’t think it was very kind in her own eyes.
“I don’t care that you brought it out. I shouldn’t have brought my gun out.” She stated, completely disregarding everything else the woman was saying. She was growing tired of talking and listening to this one blabber on. God, she had a mouth. Too much talking. Staring at her with a blank stare, she nodded. “I wouldn’t take chances either but these so called psychopaths would be obvious I would think. They’d run rampant and I wouldn’t just shoot somebody because they comment on my height. Yes, I pulled my gun out, but usually when I do that I get an immediate sorry. So yes, Thank you for the sorry.” Sophia commented, her voice roughening up as she was becoming annoyed. She didn’t even enjoy talking this much, it was too much for her and it bothered her she even had to talk to someone today.
As Sophia stood there, glaring at her dog and accepting the fact her dog chose an unknown woman over her. It broke her heart just a little, but it eased up once she noticed how happy Nico was with the fact the woman was scratching his ear. The dog quickly stuck his tongue out repeatedly, attempting to lick at the girl’s face as she crouched down with a smile.
“His name is Nico. He enjoys his chest rubbed. It makes his leg kick.” Yes, she could be a dick but she also enjoyed watching her dog become happy. Obviously this woman was no threat to her so she had to act nice or she’d get the silent treatment from Nico for the rest of the night. Sophia didn’t want that. “I’m Sophia. I was rude to act that way.”
Nico glanced over to Sophia before looking back to Dehlia and attempting to lick her face before just letting his tongue stick out once more and his body slowly slide as he went to lay on the ground. Showing that he wanted more love.

[googlefont="Marvel|Bubbler One"][nospaces] A Hurricane on the Rooftops Dehlia heard her talk about how she shouldn't have brought her gun out and Dehlia just stayed silent. She agreed with the statement, but she had a feeling if she agreed vocally she'd end up in even more trouble. Then she heard the bit about psychopaths being recognizable and she shook her head slowly, her eyes clouding with sadness for a moment. She couldn't help but think about her brother. If she'd been more careful...no that was a useless road of what-ifs that wouldn't help anyone at all. [break][break] "Psychopaths don't look like psychopaths. Killers don't look like killers." People had to travel the world and put their trust in people to a certain extent. But they had to be distrustful at the same time. The fact people had to do this was ridiculous, but necessary. Then she heard the words about what the dog was named and where he liked to be petted. And then she introduced herself and Dehlia smiled. It was a lot better when people introduced themselves. She rubbed the dog's chest as he settled down into lying down on the ground. [break][break] "I'm Dehlia. And it's okay. I really am sorry I hit a sore spot. I do that a lot unfortunately." She rubbed the back of her neck, her face covered in a slight blush and a sheepish smile. She was never quite sure how to properly apologize for something she'd done either. It made making lasting friendships a bit difficult at times, unless the person was especially forgiving. It was fairly clear that Sophia was not such a person, but Dehlia thought she was okay regardless. [break][break] Crap. Now she had no idea what to say to continue the conversation. Her shoulders slumped a little at the thought. She wanted to continue conversations. She really did! But thinking up topics that worked with strangers was really really really difficult!

The female simply stared down at the red-haired woman. She did have a point… Psychopaths didn’t look like psychopaths and killers didn’t look like killers. Her uncle Ripley… Well, he had shown obvious signs of insanity but she had never thought he’d do what he had done. For a split second, her heart hammered against her chest at the very thought of the man and the fateful night. Many had heard about what happened and that was what she was known for. Hence why she didn’t often give her last name because she knew she would get crazed looks.
It was obvious her dog was enjoying himself entirely too much but Sophia had no say in what her dog was allowed to do. He was basically like his own person with the way he acted. The dog made his own choices, when he wanted to walk, when he wanted to eat and drink. All that fancy stuff. Watching as the woman rubbed the dog’s chest, the dog began to kick his leg when Dehlia hit the spot. Nico’s tongue rolled out of his mouth and he began to pant heavily and the leg just kept going.
“Nice to meet you, Dehlia. It is fine, stuff like that happens. You didn’t know it was a sensitive topic. It happens.” Sophia commented. She wanted to be nice, to act nice. Dehlia obviously had made a mistake and by the way her face covered itself in a slight blush, she knew she was telling the truth. The poor female must have done that quite often, hitting peoples’ sore spots. It was a mistake, and mistakes happened. Sophia was not about to hold it against her, especially that it was obvious she did this often.
Glancing to the female once more, she watched as her shoulders slumped a little. Brows furrowing, she looked to the bow rested on her back. “So, are you a hunter, Dehlia?” She questioned with a somewhat smirk. She brought herself to her knees to make herself more leveled with the woman, her hand extending out to rub Nico's stomach gently.

[googlefont="Marvel|Bubbler One"][nospaces] A Hurricane on the Rooftops This was one awesome puppydog. She smiled as he was happy with what she was doing. Then Sophia said it was fine and Dehlia couldn't help but smile in response to it. She was always glad when someone forgave her. She was very awkward, she knew that. But knowing that some people were willing to put that aside never tired for her. She was trying to be better socially regardless of course. But in the meantime she could enjoy the feeling of knowing parts of the human race weren't so bad after all. Then she saw the gaze go to her bow that she'd put awhile shortly after Sophia sheathed her own weapons. Dehlia heard the question and chuckled, staying silent a moment. [break][break] "I guess I am now. That's a recent development though, me being a hunter. I'm still in training too. I'm able to carry my weapons because I'm part of a security force for a rich dude. Have been since I came to Felici. It's good money, and something I've been able to do easily since my parents taught me a few different skills." That combined with her runic magic meant she was quite able to defend herself and others. [break][break] "Why do you ask? Are you a hunter as well? And if so, what kind of hunter?" She knew there were magi hunters, and then spirit hunters. And the two were fairly separate, and yet the same at the self-same time. She kept petting the dog, Nico. [break][break] "I love animals. They're so honest with themselves, and they have such a good judge of character. If someone has an animal that loves them, chances are they aren't a bad person." She'd grown up in a forest, and that was one of the things she'd learned in that time.

She spoke of being part of security for a rich man and Sophia’s eyebrow raised with curiosity. Who was the rich man and what type of security did he actually require? Money wasn’t something Sophia had to worry about much. Her adoptive mother gave her money when she needed it and with her being a hunter, Sophia often hunted down Androids, cyborgs or Magi to take their limbs and such to sell on the black market for money. It was an easy job for her most of the time.
“I am a Hunter. Magi hunter. It puts food on the table and keeps my dog here healthy.” She stated calmly. She did what she had to do for Nico’s sake. Nico was her top priority and the only living creature she actually cared for other than herself. Anyone else was dead to her basically. Literally. She had no family, Ripley wasn’t what she considered a family member for what he had done.
Sophia allowed a smile to cross her lips as the woman went on about animals. At this point the woman was growing use to her constant talking and didn’t really mind it. It was obvious that was how she was and she was an outgoing person or pushed herself to be that way. She didn’t mind, people had different ways of associating with others. “Animals are a blessing…” She stated, looking down to Nico.
The dog had lifted himself from the ground with tail wagging and his tongue sticking out. He looked between both of the girls and began to pant, eyes closing for a moment. Sophia shifted her gaze to the dog. “Animal lovers aren’t that bad.” Nico looked up to Sophia, a bark coming from him as he looked between the woman once more. “Do you have any animals? If you don’t, would you want one?” If the girl wanted an animal, it would give Sophia a reason to keep talking to her. Not that she had fallen for the woman but she had taken a fair interest in the woman and if the woman wanted an animal, Sophia would go out of her way to get her number or some sort of contact information and get her one.
Friends, she needed them right? To seem normal? She thought so.

Daniel had even told her there were some who only hunted the magi who were causing terror. But Dehlia still didn't like the idea and tried to dance her mind around it. Her mother and brother had both been magi. It was something she would never agree with. It just wouldn't happen. [break][break] "Ah. I'm training to be a spirit hunter myself." That was all she was going to say on the subject. People didn't take kindly when their views or occupations were challenged. [break][break] "Money's important." She was sure of that, and she could say that without causing a lot of friction between people. Besides, money is incredibly important and she was the best person to ask about that considering she technically had two jobs now so that she didn't run out of money. She heard the question about whether she had animals and Dehlia shook her head. [break][break] "No I don't. I might get a dog sometime, but I'd be afraid of not having enough time for the poor darling." She'd discovered how much she liked animals when she lived in Arecia Woods. That fact wasn't something she could mention to a hunter though. The fact she knew her way to Arecia Woods as a human was bad enough really. [break][break] "A dog might be handy to hunt spirits though. I wonder if you can train a dog to tell you when spirits are around. They can definitely detect spirits being around, no question." She scratched her chin. That was actually an incredibly good question.

oh lord won't you show me am i the sinner or the saint oh lord won't you please tell me was all my suffering in vain
Sophia had her reasons for becoming a magi hunter. She had done it because she wished to become better than her uncle. She wanted to be more powerful and skilled than the man so she was aiming to become that by being a hunter. The human could train and work hard every day and she found that magi made it much more easier for her because of the fear they held and their powers.
Nodding, she smiled at the woman. “That is nice. What made you choose spirits, if you don’t mind me asking of course.” The hunter was curious and she wanted to know why she would choose the spirits. Of course, their was nothing against it. The woman could have said she was training to become a magi hunter and Sophia would still ask the same question.
Money was important and Sophia knew that. She had everything she wanted when her parents were alive. As soon as she lost them, it all went down hill. She had nothing and was never given anything. The orphanage cared for her and fed her. They clothed her and that was about the best they could do themselves. The lady that had adopted her was kind enough to put all the money she could get to Sophia, giving her the chance to attend school. Yet, thinking about it, she knew she still had the position at the academy when she returned.
With a slight chuckle, the woman nodded to the girl’s rambling about getting a dog and wondering if she could train it to detect spirits. “You know, that is really smart. You should try asking them. I can bet you they will allow it if it means helping them with hunting spirits.” Glancing down to her dog, she nodded to Nico. “Nico here aids me in my hunts sometimes. He’s very intelligent and can sense just about anything.”
As she shifted her weight onto her left foot, she released a soft sigh. “If you want, I can try looking for a dog for you. What kind of breed would you consider?”

[googlefont="Marvel|Bubbler One"][nospaces] A Hurricane on the Rooftops She heard Sophia ask her what made her choose to hunt spirits. Well...her mother. And her mother had passed on so Dehlia supposed she wouldn't be putting anyone in danger by mentioning it. [break][break] "I was hanging out in the park and a hunter named Daniel asked if I wanted to be a hunter. A spirit hunter. My mother taught me a lot about spirits and how some of them were bad and needed to be taken out to maintain the balance of the environment. And well...I'd prefer not to hunt magi if I can avoid it." She didn't even need to mention that her mother had been an earth magi to explain why she was a spirit hunter. Dehlia rubbed the back of her neck, a bit nervous. Talking about magi was a devisive subject at the best of times. However that didn't mean she would avoid the topic. The fact she wasn't mentioning her relation to magi though? That was common sense, and proof that if it involved her own self preservation she could be careful what she said. [break][break] She heard Sophia say how she should investigate whether dogs could be trained to detect spirits. [break][break] "I should ask my mentor Daniel about that I guess." Mr Caim? Daniel Caim? Just Caim? Dehlia had no idea what he preferred perhaps she should ask him that. It would be useful when she was trying to talk to him rather than just going up to him and going 'hey' with a question. It was sort of amazing how you could go so long without using someone's name around them, really. She heard Sophia's words about the dog and Dehlia hmmed in thought. [break][break] "I only have a small apartment so probably a smaller dog. Probably a hunting dog because I think their senses are more finely tuned. I don't really know. Doesn't even have to be a purebred because a lot of them have problems with their hips and stuff I've read. I've never had a dog before so I'm not entirely sure I would know where to start." Arecia Woods had a lot of things in it that were unpredictable. A dog probably would have been okay, but then it had the chance to lead back to her family and put them in danger. It was sort of surprising her dad hadn't had an old hunting dog from his hunter days though, now that she thought about it.
