[googlefont=Open+Sans] i'm going to break you down [attr="class","firstfriend"] scare you, destroy you. hildren were never Vashti’s favorite thing. Vashti unfortunately had to fake more than just happiness when she passed a group of children one day in Downtown Dagos and they came running to her, questioning her horns. Since then, Vashti found that every day when she passed, their were more and more children waiting for her to touch the horns or to play with her tail. Vashti though, did not mind it all that much. Unfortunately, not everything seems to last for the poor Magi. Just finishing work, Vashti clocked out and said her goodbye to her brother. Taking her leave, she headed straight for the town, to her usual spot where the children sat patiently and even more than last time. “Vashti!” A little boy yelled loudly. A smile crossed her lips, fake but a child would never figure that out. Wandering over, she got to her knees almost immediately and sat on her feet as the kids began to swarm her. Hands were all over her horns and she felt slight tugging on her tail. She didn’t mind it but instead flicked her tail about which caused the children to squeal with excitement as they attempted to capture the moving tail. “What are you?” A little brunette with stunning green eyes questioned as she went ahead and took a hold of Vashti’s cheek and gave it a good squeeze. “Well, I am a Fire Magi. Have you ever heard of Magis before?” Her brows furrowed as she watched the little girl. “Daddy married one. Big brother likes one.” The little girl giggled as she turned to point out what was possibly her brother in the distance, watching them. Nodding, Vashti allowed a warm smile crawl onto her lips as she looked back to the three kids who were attempting to braid the fluff on the end of her tail. They were all enjoying their time with her until two men came stumbling by. Vashti was not sure what happened, but the two men placed the blame on her. As they came stumbling by, one was attempting to light a cigarette when he bumped into Vashti. The lighter had fallen along with his lit cigarette which caught his shirt, burning a hole through it. At first the man did not take notice until his friend pointed out that the cherry of the cigarette had attached itself to his shirt and was beginning to burn an even bigger hole. Frantically, the men tried to get the cherry to extinguish which caused Vashti to giggle as they struggled. Almost immediately as they got it off, they turned and the man who burnt his shirt pointed to Vashti, accusing her. “Filthy Magi! You did this!” Vashti, eyes widened shook her head and acted innocent. She was innocent, but she had to play her role, right? “I would never do that!” She exclaimed loudly as she got to her feet. The children began to back up, parents running over to grab their children and take them away from the so called ‘beast’. Looking back, she watched as the children’s eyes swelled with tears and the look of terror apparent on the parents faces were enough to let Vashti know she had done wrong by laughing at the man. She had caused an issue to arise because she chose to laugh at the fact the man burnt his own shirt with a cigarette because he bumped into her. How ridiculous. It was not long before a group of men circled Vashti and yelled derogatory comments towards her. One even attempted to take a grab at her arm so she put on her best act. “P-Please! Don’t touch me! I didn’t do anything!” She yelled, her voice filling with fear and her sides heaving as her heart began to slam against her chest. She felt her throat tightening and her eyes becoming watery. The men did not stop as they kept yelling at her and trying to take a hold of her and Vashti kept explaining that she didn’t do it. She screamed, “Get off of me!” Yanking her arm away from one of the rough male’s hands as another got a nice grip on her tail and gave it a rough yank. Not really capable of feeling much pain on certain areas of her body because of her past, Vashti chose to fake and emitted a loud, painful yelp.

welcome to the Nightmare in my head
say hello to something scary
the monster in your bed just give in and you won't be sorry
[attr="class","oone"] [attr="class","tbbody"]When Oliver vacationed his usual watering grounds were not one necessarily found in the down town metropolis. His room might be there on occasion but the rest of the area was not really his cup of tea. Shopping. Bus tours. Theater and oh so many types of shows; Variety, magic, comedy, hypnosis, even something called 'Zombie Burlesque'. None of these many choices being advertised in flashing lights appealed to the vacationing hunter. Though he supposed they played a minor role in his plans. Alcohol seemed to be served everywhere at near all times. Finding a partner for his darker hobby tended to not be too awfully difficult under these circumstances. The only factor that made the area less desirable was the fact it was always so busy. So populated. So many sets of eyes to witness who was helping so and so home only to find out they never made it. This was why he preferred the red light district to be entirely honest. Yes, it might be busy in its own right but the people who make up those streets understood a particular etiquette. Everyone was there for less than desirable purposes. You might see a face but you didn't necessarily memorize it. You might witness a pair of people exiting a public placing together but that was common there. It wasn't anything that set off mental alarms or threw out red flags. So it would be in a relaxed manner that Oliver walked the down town area. Wandering without a purpose. Just stretching his legs and enjoying the very noticeable lack of a teenage daughter. (Maia was left home because of her school schedule. Not that she'll abide by it but shrug.) With a lengthy inhale through the nose Oliver would conclude that it was nice in its own right. Red light district wasn't really the place to be taking a casual stroll. Especially while he had a casted arm in a sling. It created the illusion that he was an easy mark. Of course this wasn't accurate but after the fifth thief to get a kick to the temple it got annoying. So here he was. Down town. There would be minor events that he would witness as his feet continued in the same direction. But none of them caused the narrowing of his eyes like the last one did. From a distance he would watch as children greeted a magi. The scenario seemed to go pleasantly enough. As Oliver passed by he would side eye the magi with the mismatched set he had. That was a fake smile she was wearing. It wasn't too terribly difficult to believe. Perhaps the woman wasn't a kid friendly person. Oliver doubted with little doubt that he'd be one to enjoy children poking and pulling on him, why would another? So it would be with little thought that that he'd walk past and continue on his stroll. What made him stop however was not the commotion that occurred after that. Not the initial angered yells. This was a city. People were harmed often. Oliver didn't think much of it. No. “P-Please! Don’t touch me! I didn’t do anything!” .... Oliver's stride slowed to a stop. More bitter male yells would occur as would another “Get off of me!”. Slow turning back towards the scene his gaze tunnel visioned onto the magi he'd acknowledged so briefly earlier. She was faking it. It was one thing to fake enjoyment or happiness. Normal people did that all the time. Instead of being called a lie in their circumstances it magically was considered etiquette. But to fake a more extreme pain or fear? Was this a set up for a sting? Were these con artists? But that idea melted away as he concluded the anger seemed real from the humans. So it was just the magi faking. That could be ... interesting? Ususally given the circumstances someone would be afraid for themselves and rightfully so. This girl was about to get the crap kicked out of her. And yet there was a purposeful effort to dramatize. How could Oliver not recognize the act? He was a common player of that particular game himself. Allowing his curiosity to direct his path now Oliver walked back towards the commotion. "Excuse me. Do you have identification as for your handling of an Ethean citizen? Or am I about to write you all up for assualt and battery?" OOC Your post was lovely, dear Vashti Ootari

[googlefont=Open+Sans] i'm going to break you down [attr="class","firstfriend"] scare you, destroy you. he wasn’t sure why it stopped but the man had struck some sort of emotion into the people who surrounded her and were yelling hateful words. Her eyes widened some, glancing over to the figure who chose to speak up. She didn’t recognize him, but she could tell he must have been an important person. Turning to those who stared wide eyed at the man, the one who began it all came forth.“She burnt a hole in my shirt!” He exclaimed, pointing down to the obvious hole that revealed his stomach. Glaring back at her, he pointed rudely. “She is a monster! She tried to kill me for fun! If the government won't handle them, I will.” He exclaimed even louder, his friend speaking up to agree with him as he claimed he saw it with his own eyes. While they were all looking to the male figure, Vashti turned and rolled her eyes. What a load of bullshit but she had to play her role.“I-I truthfully didn’t do it! I swear on my life, sir!” She squeaked, horror filling her crimson eyes as she looked at the male in panic. Well… Why did he intervene? Everyone else was walking past like it was nothing or joining in to attack her but he stopped and spoke up. An obvious curious spark shined in her eyes as she watched the man, keeping the look of fear and horror on her face so those around her would believe it. “oh bullshit!” The man screamed as he got in the Magi’s face before turning back to the man. “I’m making her pay for ruining my shirt. Magis are disgraceful, disgusting creatures. I’m doing everyone a favor, don’t you agree?” He snapped, glaring at the male as a couple of the other humans seemed to nod in agreement and others shyly looked away. “Sir.. Please, hear me out. I swear on everything I wouldn’t touch a human or so much as put them in harms way.” Her voice was filled with sincerity, her eyes shined with belief as she stared at the man. She didn’t know that he could see through her but it slowly was beginning to fool the other humans that were surrounding her as they stared at her. Slowly, she moved herself closer to the male who had intervened. “I would never hurt them. That is something I am against.” A lie. Something she was practically great at. She knew she could not admit that she had a strong hatred for the humans. They would put her on trial or kill her. Or this man that stood before her, watching her, he could easily put her down like a rabid animal. Vashti had no need for that and so she kept her eyes filled with fear yet hope that she will escape the false accusations.

[attr="class","oone"] [attr="class","tbbody"]It was a rare moment. It didn't happen often at all but when it did, there was a clear sharpening of Oliver's mismatched gaze. Tried. To kill me. Everything else said after that would fall to the wayside. That particular phrase had succeeded in a task that was awfully difficult to accomplish. It irked him. Of all the insults Oliver had heard in his life, from those beneath his knife and not, this simple sentence was what tipped the man closer to an emotion that could be considered a variance of anger. Walking up to the group of humans with purpose a recognizable glint would cross the red iris of his left eye. "Gentlemen," Oliver would begin with the smallest twitch of a brow. "If a magi wanted to kill you, you'd be dead." The statement was a simple one. It was made up of one sentence total but the message was a clear one to someone who was smart enough to shut up and listen. "Don't belittle my profession thinking you just lived through a life threatening situation. It's asinine." Of all of the Hunters and fellow Military members to perish in the lengthy clash that occurred following the Relocation Camp breakouts. It was aggravating to think of someone belittling their deaths and the true danger those who survived had lived through was indeed very asinine. Not that Oliver had mourned anyone. He wasn't very easily pushed into those arrayed emotions. But it did however boil his blood ever so slightly that some self-righteous little shit believed that he had been anywhere on the same level of danger as Oliver had. "Go to the dollar store, buy yourself another cheap polo and cut the losses before you thoroughly insult an active veteran." Regardless of the human reactions he would receive Oliver would turn to the magi woman whose mask he seemed able to see past. "Come on." Would be his short response before he'd turn to continue his walk down the sidewalk. The assumption was clear that he expected the girl to follow him. If any of the men were foolish enough to try to attack him while his back was to them, he'd deal with it then. But if not they wouldn't get a single glance backwards or further word. He was done as far as he was concerned. OOC Taketh a Rinny post /o/ If you want Vashti to start noticing that there's a "darker whatever" or mask at this time, you can. Or you can wait until we're walking and talking one on one. In your court, my friend. Vashti Ootari

[googlefont=Open+Sans] i'm going to break you down [attr="class","firstfriend"] scare you, destroy you. he was capable of telling that the words ‘She almost killed me’ irked the man in a way she was not able to understand. Honestly, she was only able to tell because of the way he began to act. He was just like her brother when something hit him harder than other things and this man was about to get a hand full from him.
The men backed up slightly as they watched the figure before them. “But, I swear it on my life! She tried!” He exclaimed as he glared at Vashti. Vashti’s own eyes narrowed some as the male immediately shut up as soon as the other male began to speak up. A small smile flashed upon her lips as she tilted her head down to allow her hair to fall over her face to hide that smile. What he said was true and she hadn’t even tried to kill him. She knew well if she wanted to, all she would have to do is stab him. He was human after all. "It is very rude to accuse a Magi of such a thing because you have different views on them."The man himself gasped slightly, attempting to speak but nothing coming from his mouth. The male’s face began to heat up and turn red from anger as he was told to go to the dollar store to buy himself another cheap polo. With a stomp of his foot, he turned and dragged his buddy away alongside him. Vashti glanced up as the figure looked over to her and stated for her to follow him. Immediately, she steadied herself right and allowed herself to carry on behind the male. The crowd had slowly began to disperse, a couple mumbling as they stared down Vashti and the man who hadn’t punished her - yet. She thought he would do it, just not in front of the humans. She could be wrong but she had to keep her defense up. Glancing back as she caught that the crowd had completely dispersed and the humans were well on their way, Vashti turned her head to face the male once more.“Thank you, truly. I’m thankful for your mercy on me.” She stated with a soft voice, audible so the male could hear her still. Vashti had taken it upon herself to examine the male more closely while he was speaking down towards the male who accused her. There was something about the man that she was not able to figure out but she felt something strange as she walked behind him. There was a split moment where she thought that he possibly related to her in a way but that thought easily slipped her mind as she brought herself to. | ✉ | -squeaks- Hi! Here you go! ^^ |

[attr="class","oone"] [attr="class","tbbody"]The soft words spoken by the woman would catch his attention. Never turning his head his gaze would merely look out of the corners of his eyes. One brown, one red, they would peer at the magi walking along side him. She wasn't the tallest thing in the world. Couldn't be any taller than five foot five. Amethyst hair, odd eyes, horns. The lady didn't stand a chance with the racists who littered the city. She didn't appear to be very old but then again this was a magi after all. She could be over one hundred years old and still look youthful according to Oliver's experiences with her kind. The sideways glance would remain in silence for a good few steps. Overall Oliver's facial expression had fallen into a natural state. There was no forced polite smile. Nor was there any sign of anger or annoyance. The word if there was one to best describe it would most likely be apathetic. "You're welcome." Would be his first words to her. "Though I don't think calling it mercy is rather accurate." Not so much as blinking at the pigeons that cooed and fluttered in front of their path, Oliver would blink, maintaining his sideways stare. The birds knew better than to expect a person to avoid them. Rightfully so they would hop to and fro so Oliver's feet would not kick them as he continued unhinderingly on his way. "I'd call it curiosity if anything." The hunter would say, his voice not really getting across any major emotions either. This was just a fact he was stating and nothing more as far as he was concerned. There was no threatening undertone or wariness. The same voice could be stating that the sky was blue and nothing would differentiate. "So if you're really thankful," Oliver would begin, tucking his uninjured hand into a jeans pocket. "Why don't you tell me why you were faking literally every single interaction I watched from you just now?" OOC Y u b fakin', gurl? Vashti Ootari

[googlefont=Open+Sans] i'm going to break you down [attr="class","firstfriend"] scare you, destroy you. hen the male had arrived at the scene, she had taken a moment to look at his features. He had mismatching colored eyes with a nice brownish black colored hair. She liked the color of his eyes, the brown and red, it gave him a unique look. The next thing she had noticed was the broken arm in cast. Of course, she didn’t take too much longer and only took in the details she thought important before returning to the argument that had occurred.
Now, as she walked beside the male silently, she did her own side glances. She instead this time chose to look down at his body. He walked with not much of pride, instead it was a neutral sort of walk. Looking away, she instead looked forward and placed her hands in front of her as she intertwined them neatly against her dress. She allowed a false smile to take over her face as she looked over to the figure.”But I do believe so. The men accused me of something I could never do. You did not put me in harms way.” She stated calmly. Vashti looked ahead as she watched the pigeons flutter away from their path, smiling at them.
Acting. That was what she had to do right? It was something she knew she was good at and she had to make the man believe this. She watched the pigeons quietly, as if she was taking in their beauty and trying to see what they were thinking. She was acting thoughtful and curious of the birds, trying to at least. As a child, she did have a strong passion for animals but at this point, she had no true care for them. The human stated it was more curiosity than anything so she chose to look over to him, brows furrowed and her mouth slightly opened. “Hm…” She closed them, a slight hum emitting from her throat as she kept her pace even.
Vashti was not expecting what the man said next but she did not show the emotion. Instead, she allowed that fake, smile and furrowed brow to fall into a state of blankness. “How would you know I was faking? Maybe it was real.” She stated, her voice barely above a whisper but the male was still capable of hearing her. Taking a step, she made it so she stepped right in front of the male to stop them from walking unless the male chose otherwise, twisting her body so she was facing him properly. Her fingers stayed intertwined with each other as she stood there staring at him. “Sometimes we must fake to survive, you know?” Her gaze had grown dull and boring almost and her face showed no expression. Just a boring, bland look.

[attr="class","oone"] [attr="class","tbbody"]"Oh. 'Maybe'?" Oliver couldn't help but laugh out loud at the choice of words. This magi didn't seem foolish. She knew to pretend enjoying time with children. She knew to proclaim her dismay loud enough when the human men began to give her trouble. She was an intelligent enough little thing in the least. So there had to be a reason for the specific word choice there. Perhaps she was smart enough that there was no actual way of convincing him otherwise. That had to be it. The magi woman maneuvered herself in order to halt his progression and Oliver would allow this. He wasn't in any position to utilize force even if he wanted to. Sure he could hold his own if it was required but there was no reason to have fire balls thrown his way over something as small as having to pause in his stroll. "You could say I've gained an eye for it over the years." Would be his reply to the young lady's first question. Simple enough to answer that much without showing his hand. What was meeting his smile now? A familiar facial expression. A very familiar face. Apathy. Blankness. Nothingness. Huh, so she showed him her hand. Her final inquiry was enough to pull the pieces together from there. This person had lived through the camps alright. Probably one of the rougher ones. Hell, it could have been at one of the relocation centers he was stationed at himself. Gods knew what he put certain magi through over those years. Not in the name of feeling superior or ridding the world of a lesser being. On the contrary. They were equals in delight to kill. Unlike the magi's his mask wouldn't be allowed to lower. Not yet. Possibly never. He had alot riding on his keeping that part of himself hidden. Prison was not on his bucket list. He enjoyed killing people. In there he wouldn't be able to as much. No where near as much. If at all after a while. Him being left in a single cell alone in solitary confinement for so long? He'd go mad. Oliver preferred death over such a lengthy period being left alone with no way of satisfying the dark evil thing that demanded to be fed. The addiction. So upkeeping that false polite smile that, at this close a range, and considering the facial expression his conversational partner was currently giving him, the magi could probably tell it was as fake as hers was. Normal people tended to, at least under normal circumstances, attempt a mirroring. It helped communication along. "Oh, I know." Oliver would reply, his smile never wavering. Blink. "So, have you been this way since birth or did we make you this way?" OOC [boops nose with kitty paw]~ Vashti Ootari

[googlefont=Open+Sans] i'm going to break you down [attr="class","firstfriend"] scare you, destroy you. er ‘Maybe’ was her way of stating that she knew the male knew she was faking it. Vashti knew she had a talent for faking things. The children were too blind and so were the parents. The parents of the children just smiled and believed Vashti was this gentle, child loving Magi when in reality she held a hatred for all humans. Perhaps she had a weak spot for children but such feelings she could not comprehend nor would she reveal to those who knew she had no emotions.
With him pausing in his steps when she chose to move herself in front of him pleased her in a way that she would not reveal. Instead of being like most men who would have pushed pass, he was generous enough to stop. “Ah… I see. Well doesn’t that make you, well, unique.” She stated calmly. Her voice was gentle, soft almost. It was a voice that could calm someone who was mentally breaking down or panicking. Loving in a sense. Vashti herself was not able to particularly see when someone was faking it but when they began to show signs of what she does, she is able to tell.
Vashti’s eyes gazed at the male longingly. It was obvious he was not going to let the mask fall as he allowed the false polite smile to stay on his face. So, instead of keeping her blank expression, she allowed a sincere smile to cross her lips. Fake, of course, but it was just like his. Mirroring him. “That is nice to know.” It was, to know that someone understood that sometimes emotions were forced to be faked to get somewhere. She was lucky enough the male knew what she was going through, able to relate with her.
The old Fire Magi had lived through enough to know what she was doing. So when the question of the male came, her eyes lowered to the ground in an almost saddened state. “I was happy once. Truly, smiling. Laughing.” Eyes flickered, gazing to the male. “You just helped me perfect it. Someone else caused it.” With a quick move, she stepped forward and moved her arm up. Her slender fingers reached out to the male’s face. If he allowed it, her hand simply went to his cheek as she cupped his face in a motherly manner. The feeling of her hand against his skin would be soft and warm, mainly with her being a Fire Magi she found herself always being warm. Her head tilted as her purple brows knitted together in a concerned look. “And you, my dear? Have you been this way since birth or did someone make you this way?” Vashti put on a motherly role, acting as if she was curious, wanting to know what happened like a mother would if her child came running inside crying because it had scraped its knee when falling. | ✉ | Olly, you are so darn adorable <3 |

welcome to the Nightmare in my head
say hello to something scary
the monster in your bed just give in and you won't be sorry
[attr="class","oone"] [attr="class","tbbody"]The woman was telling the truth. There wasn't an ounce of falsehood slipping from her tongue. We refined it, but we weren't the ones who caused it. The simple two sentences had a manner of slicing through the walls Oliver always had around him. They became as fragile as paper with the magi's words. There was something about honesty coming from someone like him. It was as if a crisp breeze coming in from the ocean. It was ... refreshing. The gentle hand upon his cheek would honestly take him by surprise even though it frankly shouldn't have. He treated his victims in the same fashion when he was able to have optimum fun. Soft. Gentle. Not wishing to harm the perfect skin until he purposefully wished to disrupt the flawless nature with a single cut. It was always so beautiful, watching that red spread. So calming. Serene. The only moments Oliver truly felt at peace. And yet to receive the same treatment he'd given so many others, it was odd. Not necessarily bad. Just different. He'd never been on the opposite end of such a motion. His surprise would be visible through the blink of his eyes. Honesty from someone else dipped in their level of fucked up deserved honesty in return. Call it loyalty, call it whatever. But there was, as far as Oliver was concerned, some sort of comradery between two such people. It was a rarity after all. Vashti was the first in a very long time Oliver truly felt they were at least close to being one and the same. There would be a pause of consideration. The chance of it being a sting operation through a police force poking him in the back of his head. But that was just the normal routes of paranoia of a serial killer. It was quickly waved away. "Birth." Oliver would answer. It wouldn't be long before the Hunter was asking his next inquiry. "Would you like to have lunch with me?" The smile realigned itself. "It's not every day I meet someone with this in common." OOC Wanna continue this talk somewhere more private? Vashti Ootari

[googlefont=Open+Sans] i'm going to break you down [attr="class","firstfriend"] scare you, destroy you. he fire Magi hadn’t met anyone like her before. No one had ever been capable of perfecting an act and making everyone believe them like her. Well, that was what she thought. There was a chance she had met people in her past who faked their emotions but she never caught on. Yet this man, that stood before her was just like her in faking emotions and possibly more. She could see the surprise in his eyes when she rested her hand lovingly against his cheek. Vashti was not the type to touch others, it caused her to freak, made her panic. Or perhaps it was the feeling of others placing a hand on her first that caused such feelings. Her hand against his cheek felt.. Strange but she had done this before. She acted in such a manner when Malikai often came home intoxicated and upset. A mother role. The motherly feeling swarmed her immediately as she watched Oliver. This was a man that shared a similar trait and possibly even more with her. To quickly warm up to someone like this was beyond her but she actually for once enjoyed it. It was nice being able to be welcoming towards someone other than her brother and she enjoyed it deep down inside. Her smile stayed on her face but instead it warmed up and her face softened up to no longer show concern. Birth. She went to question further until his next question came to.Lunch? With a Magi? Someone wanted? A human wanted to have lunch with her? Wasn’t he afraid to be picked on? To be tormented? She paused in such thoughts as it clicked that he hadn’t punished her in front of a bunch of humans who accused her of burning them. This man was no threat and for a moment, she showed her own sign of shock from his question. “You are quite right…” Vashti’s shocked expression was easily washed over with a friendly smile as she removed her hand from his face. Instead, she slid her hand down to his, intertwining their fingers together as she shifted to place herself beside the male. Her other arm moved to wrap around the arm in which she was holding hands. Of course, this all happened if the male allowed it. “Lead the way.” She cooed. | ✉ | cutie pie . ;-; my hearttttttt. |

[attr="class","oone"] [attr="class","tbbody"]The smile would gain a warmth at the magi's eventual response. Thought had seemingly been needed for her to consider the offer. Which was fair enough. They had only met mere minutes ago. And they had just cemented the belief that neither of them were necessarily following a normalized conscience. Hesitation was understandable. And yet there it was, an accepting of his offer. The smile would shift lightly to formulate a sideways grin. Warmth still present, an amount of humor would bubble up. Fingers laced, his arm being hugged. This was something he'd seen in those stupid little dramas on the television but had never truly experienced himself. Eraya had held him on occasion but that had been so long ago it felt. And even then it was more she wanted comfort during her time of mourning over the death of her father. Here it was simply to be close to him. Not even River had really expressed any such behaviors and he was the individual he had the longest sexual relations with in his life. Sex usually pulled out deeper emotional bonds for normal people, didn't it? With the amount of ass Oliver got from the younger hunter, he'd assumed that would have occurred by now. "Very well." Oliver would say, beginning their shared strides forward. "Well, let's see...." The officer would think out loud, glancing down the sidewalk. It was a city so there was its fair share of traffic and parallel parked cars. "I only visit the area a few times a year for vacation so I'm trying to remember what's around .... Isn't there a Surajan curry place a few blocks down? How does that sound?" OOC A short and sweet post made at 3am. Vashti Ootari

[googlefont=Open+Sans] i'm going to break you down [attr="class","firstfriend"] scare you, destroy you. f course she had to put thought into his question. She didn’t want to make it seem rude but it was strange in a sense for a Hunter, that just moments ago probably would have killed her, just asked her to go to lunch with him. It had struck her and put her into shock. Of course it would, she was a Magi. Something Hunters did not associate themselves with and held a hatred for. Vashti did hold a hatred for humans but for some odd reason she couldn’t hate the man before her.
She had never held hands with a man. This was new for her. She had watched movies, seen the woman do this when they went on dates. But this wasn’t a date. This was a simple lunch with a man she had just met. Now, as Vashti thought about it, she had never even went out to lunch with another man except her brother. Glancing up, she eyed the male for a slight moment before looking back to the ground. She felt a warmth growing in her chest. She was not catching feelings, but it was an odd feeling she often never got. For some reason, the male was bringing out an emotion Vashti wasn’t very aware of. It was causing her to overthink.
Vashti was brought back when the male began to move and she was quick to follow beside him at a decent pace. She looked over to him, with a warm smile that was true to her face as he looked to the sidewalk. “Really? How come I haven’t ever really seen you then? I’ve lived here basically my entire life.” She teased lightly. She probably never saw him because she was secluded, hated being around people and often hid inside her home for hours on end. “I believe so… Sounds nice.” Vashti replied with a smile on her face. Her slender tail flicked slightly, wagging slightly with happiness. This she knew never happened so why was it happening now? she didn’t like it.
As the two walked together, Vashti paused in her mind but kept walking. To her, she thought it would be a bit funny to taunt the man, to see what his response would be. She allowed a false look of sadness to wash over her expression as she looked up to the figure. “Are you sure you’d like to be seen with me? I am a Magi after all. We are seen as dangerous creatures.” Vashti exclaimed. Obviously she was just trying to mess with him but at the same time it clicked that he, just moments ago, had told a group of men to go away and saved her life. If he didn’t want to be seen with her, he could have just said it to her face but he insisted on asking her to go to lunch. Yet, she stood there still with a worry-some expression, only wanting to tease him just the slightest to see what his response would be.

[attr="class","oone"] [attr="class","tbbody"]"Well I only make the trip out about five times a year to be fair." Oliver would reply. He was vaguely aware that the two of them were in unison step with each other. "Though when I do I tend to spend most of my time in the Red Light district to be honest." The fact would be stated devoid of any of the usual emotions one would generally share such a sentence in. Shame. Embarrassment. For Oliver it was said in a manner that one would comment on the weather being sunny. A simple fact. "So that could be why?" He would ask in turn. A seemingly enough innocent 'assumption'. Though in all honesty it acted as a direct question in return. Was this magi the sort to spend time in the Red Light district? Yes, they'd just met but she was still a living breathing body. Sex was never completely off the table. Not really. If her profession was one that was in the habit of sharing herself physically Oliver would most likely share the same in turn. She was a pretty one after all. The horns would take some caution from his side of things but that was a minor factor. Upon receiving a response (or lack of one) Oliver would come to wait at a curb. The time spent waiting for a traffic light to change would not last long. Mostly because he wasn't one to wait for some green little guy to inform him when was safe to cross. He had eyes, enough said. Oliver would step out into the street shortly afterwards, successfully crossing at his casual pace without so much as a beep from a taxi. It seemed the young woman was interested in his choice for lunch. That was good. Plus his memory hadn't failed him. An equally positive amount of news. It wouldn't be until the magi would ask her final question that Oliver would smirk. "Why wouldn't I want to be seen with a beautiful woman?" Would be his initial response, their journey still ongoing. If that one line didn't seem to tide over her curiosity Oliver would shrug lightly his one healthy shoulder. "I'm not one to be racist. I just take advantage of others being racist when it suits me." Simple truth. OOC Boop. We can time skip to the curry place if you want~ Vashti Ootari

[googlefont=Open+Sans] i'm going to break you down [attr="class","firstfriend"] scare you, destroy you. ed Light district? Her brother worked there. She also worked at his club as a bartender. With a slight smirk added to her lips, one that looked as if she was going to tease him, an obvious look to her face. As she pressed herself closer to the male, she just shook her head. “My brother owns a strip club within the Red Light district. I work as a bartender.” She paused some as they came to a curb and had to wait for the traffic light to change.
Of course that didn’t take long. The male had stepped out into the street and Vashti followed closely by his side with a smile. “I might become a stripper, they make some good money. I just need to convince my brother to allow me to do so.” The woman chuckled slightly to herself, glancing to the male for a split second. As the woman had been attempting to tease Oliver, it had easily caught her off guard with his reply to her. Her expression fell, only to look away. Was she embarrassed by what he had just said? She didn’t believe so but it felt like it. A beautiful woman? Had that been a lie and she fell for it? Her eyes shifted to take a look at his to search for anything that would show he was only joking or just messing with her. Eventually just giving up.Vashti smiled, allowing her face to redden up some. "How sweet of you --" She paused a moment, not in her stepping but in her speech. Vashti was going to say his name but she didn't know it. She looked up to him as the realization hit. Clearing her throat, she shyly looked up to the male with a smile that was true. "I don't believe I got your name. Mine is Vashti." [googlefont=Montserrat][newclass=.firstfriend]z-index:2; position: relative;[/newclass]
